Sorry - Daughtry
This one came out quick. I feel like I needed to add more drama into the mix. Let me know what you think. I hope you all enjoy this chapter. It's a doozy. Beware, there is a lot of switching between Reid and Hannah's point-of-views.
Hannah didn't want to get out of bed. She had smacked that snooze button and there was nothing that would make her get up now.
"Shut up!" she shouted, hitting the clock again. Sixth time. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Flipping over to face the damned machine, her eyes opened widely. 10:13? "No, that can't be right," Hannah jumped out of the bed and grabbed her phone from the table. 10:13. "I missed it! No! No! No!" She threw her phone onto the bed. Her audition was at nine that morning. How could she have missed it? All of her hard work for the past forever just got flushed down the drain. "God damn it!" She pulled the pillows from the bed and threw them at the wall. Why was everything falling apart now? First Reid now this? What had she done to deserve this?
"Mamma, what should I do?" she cried, collapsing to the floor. "Everything is falling apart. I wish you were here with me, Mamma. You would know what to do."
Reid was going crazy. Hannah hadn't contacted him the entire weekend. It has been two days and nothing. No calls. No messages. Nothing. Getting her back was going to be harder than he thought.
"Reid, we're going to go out to the mall. Want to come? It might clear your mind and stuff," Devon asked him. "You haven't left this room since Friday. Fresh air might do you some good."
"I'll go if you buy me lunch. I'm feeling some Italian," Reid said. "Deal?"
"Fine smartass, but you're driving."
"Fine."
Reid was not a shopper. As a matter of fact, he hated shopping. He hated it when he was a kid, and he hated it now. He followed the others, hands in his pockets. Many shoppers, he recognized from campus; it must have been a shopping day. Great, he didn't want to run into people, and rumors about their "break up" were already being passed around. Why couldn't people just mind their own business? Was that so difficult?
"Oh no, trouble at two o'clock," Devon said. "Everyone avoid eye contact and maybe we'll get out of this-"
"Afternoon boys."
"Damn." Devon replied.
"Look what we have here," Kelsey giggled along with her two friends. "How are you doing, Reid?"
"Leave him alone, Kelsey. Haven't you done enough?" Devon asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about, but Reid, tell me how it feels."
"How what feels?" Reid asked, feeling himself becoming more annoyed with each passing minute.
"Oh, I was sure she would have told you first," Kelsey grinned. This was just too perfect. "How does it feel to know that you are going to be a father?"
Reid chocked. Joey, Kirby and Devon gasped, turning their heads to the blond. He was going to be a father?
"You're not going to believe her are you?" Joey asked. "She could be making it all up just to get a reaction out of you."
"Oh no, I received this information from a very reliable source," Kelsey said. "I can't believe she didn't tell you. I would have thought you would have been the first on her list."
"Reid, you look a little green. You all right?" Devon looked closely at his friend.
"Um, I'm going to go clear my head. I'll meet up with you all later," he put his hands back into his pockets and stalked off. "I'll call you or something."
Pregnant? Hannah was pregnant with his baby and she didn't tell him? Why didn't she tell him? Was she afraid of what he would say to her when he found out? Sure, at some point in his life he would have freaked out, but now, even though they were 22 years old, he could definitely see himself with Hannah and a baby. They would have their own family. Head down, Reid passed store after store until he found a certain shop. He smiled and then walked inside.
"Mom, I don't know if I should have been happy or sad when I found out that the test was negative. I know I should be happy. There was no way I would have been able to raise a baby on my own at this point in my life, but on the other hand I felt disappointed."
Knowing that there was no reason to stay in New York, Hannah packed up all of her belongings and hoped onto the quickest plane back home. When she got back, she made a pit stop.
"I've been having dreams about a future with Reid for a while now. They were so clear. I can see us with a baby, after we would get married of course. I just, I don't know if Reid wants to have kids."
The wind blew her plastered hair away from her face. She wasn't surprised to find herself alone in the cemetery. Not many people liked going to the cemetery, especially when it was raining.
"I really want to forgive him, Mom. I really do, but why would he do that to me? He hates Kelsey just as much as I do. I listened to all of his messages, read his texts, he sounds horrible and really distraught. He apologized numerous times, but it's just like Trey all over again. Except Trey didn't try and say he was sorry like Reid did. I need help."
Hannah knew she wasn't going to receive an answer, but it was worth a try. With that, she got to her feet and headed towards her car, but where was she going to go? If she went back to campus, there was a chance that she would run into Reid, and Hannah wasn't ready for any kind of confrontation yet. There was only one place she could think of. A place where she knew he wouldn't look for her. Dancing would get him off of her mind. For now anyway.
Reid was running out of ideas. He needed to figure out something before Hannah got back. He thought of everything to get her back, from cheesy ideas to some ideas that he thought might actually work, but he still couldn't get the idea of them having a baby together out of his mind. Devon did have a good point. If Kelsey said it, it might not have been true. On the other hand, Kelsey said she heard it from a reliable source. That would mean she was telling the truth right? Reid didn't know. He was so confused right now. He needed to know if Hannah was indeed pregnant with his child or not, but if she wouldn't answer his calls he would know for sure?
"I have to say, stealing that key was the cherry on top. If you wouldn't have gotten it for me, we never would have succeeded in breaking them up. Good job, Lexi."
"Lexi?" Reid thought aloud, making his way down the hallway just down from his dorm. Turning the corner, he froze when he found the two talking by the elevator. "Lexi, since when do you talk to Kelsey?" The two twenty-somethings looked like they were caught red-handed. They looked at each other before trying to make a run for it. "You're not going to get away that easy," Reid narrowed his eyes at the both of them. "What key did you steal?"
"We don't know what you're talking about," Lexi responded. "I think you should just head back to your room now. This has nothing to do with you."
"Actually, I think this has everything to do with me," Reid responded. "I think you took the key I gave to Hannah and gave it to Kelsey so she could get into my room that morning. You've been helping her all along haven't you?" When she did not respond he asked again. "Haven't you?"
"Yes, all right!" Lexi shouted. "Fine, I've been helping Kelsey while she was trying to break you and Hannah up."
"Why? She's your best friend." He was confused.
"Hannah, my best friend? Please. She hasn't been my friend since middle school. I just put up with her because no one else would. Poor, little bitch." Lexi explained.
"How could you do that to her?" Reid exclaimed. "She trusted you with everything and you betrayed her. When she finds out-"
"But she's not going to find out," Lexi said. "If you haven't noticed, Hannah's not here, and she won't listen to you. It's your word against mine. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who she would listen to."
Well damn.
CoffeeJunkie33 -I know, so many twists and turns when will it all end? You'll just have to wait and see. Thank you for reviewing and liking my story. Tell me your thoughts and feelings. I would love to know what you think. :)
