Chapter 6

"We found these two attempting to sneak on the roof, sir." Two sophisticated men wearing equally expensive clothing were forced to sit down in front of the Blood King's massive oak desk, eying the two men, Trick fought back a sigh wondering how many more assassins the Morrigan would send after Bo. "They were heavily armed like the last six men giving us reason to believe they work for the Morrigan." The Dark leader had every right to be upset at Bo, but putting a price on his granddaughter's head wasn't going to produce the results she desired.

"How much did she promise you?" Trick questioned repeating the same conversation to men dumb enough to underestimate their security measures.

"We'll talk in exchange for our freedom." The assassin spoke with a fear dwelling deep in the pit of his stomach. "My brother and I work for the Morrigan but we'll answer any question, just please let us go." The younger of the two looked nervously over his shoulder staring at the four soldiers in the background of their interrogation.

"Fair enough." The Blood King granted agreeing to free the man with a shaved head and his younger accomplice shyly over nineteen. "How much did the Morrigan promise you?"

"Three mill."

The price on Bo's head had tripled in the last three days promising more attempts on her life at any given moment. Trick raked the tips of his fingers through the coarse hairs on his chin thinking out loud, "And it goes up to four million tomorrow if I have the pattern correct."

"Yes it does."

"I'll have to give Evony a call." Negotiating anything with the Morrigan was a daunting task. "I'm sorry but I can't keep forgiving the men posing a threat to my granddaughter." Picking up the phone, cradling the receiver between his ear and shoulder, Trick motioned for two guards to approach the guilty men. "Hale arrange a one way trip outside of town for our two new assailants," The two men struggled in their seats trying to fight the hands off their mouths and flailing bodies. "We have to start making examples out of Fae who go out of their way to harm my family." Maybe the next two will think twice before accepting the Morrigan's generous offer, seeing the mixture of horror and anger paint the two men struggling against his military, Trick felt satisfied with their fate casually concluding on the phone, "Thank you Hale, I'll see you shortly."

"Come on, dude. She's my best friend! Can I please just say hello? We used to live together! She loves me!" The guard protecting the door to the basement stopped responding after the 100th plea to see Bo. "Listen, my friend here is a WIZARD, do you really think it's a good idea to get on our bad side? Have you seen any of the Harry Potter movies? He fucks some shit up. People, actually... and Fae."

"This isn't going anywhere." Taliesin sighed adjusting the bandana tied around his shaggy brown hair.

"He's right. You guys are wasting your time." She turned around surprised to see Hale approaching them. Dressed casually formal, he stayed glued to Trick's side and when he wasn't with the Blood King, he was giving orders to the lingering military cluttering the Dal. "Without Trick physically speaking to Ronnie over here, aint none of us seeing Bo."

"I will offer my human body to be sacrificed to the great Fae lord for just five minutes with her but Trick won't give in! He wants Bo all to himself like a succubus hoarder-"

"Don't be silly. He's protecting you and everyone else. She nearly killed one of our men with her hands and ankles bound. We can't risk anymore lives, she's hurt enough people at this point. Including you." She crossed her arms defiantly knowing he was right but feeling bitter anyway. "Trick is in command here, he's been through this before with Aife. We must respect his orders and not harass the guards." He looked over at the big guard named Ronnie. "Sorry Buddy, we'll get out of your hair now."

"I can't leave her alone." Kenzi refused panicked at the idea of abandoning her best friend. "She's saved all of our asses a million fucking times. She doesn't deserve to be alone down there! Please let me see her!" On the verge of getting onto her knees, she'd blow the Ash right there for a chance to visit the exiled succubus.

"I'm sorry, but you can't see her without Trick's permission." Hale wasn't going to budge no matter how long she begged him. The dark haired human felt out of place all of a sudden. The Fae wanted Bo dead, except Trick, Hale and Lauren but they walked around as robots treating Bo like their job duty and not someone they loved and cared about. Comparing Bo to Aife instead of fighting for her innocence, the true colors of the Light were beginning to show and the exposure wasn't pretty. Shit is fucked up, Kenzi thought with a drifting gaze landing on Lauren's makeshift laboratory.

"Come on, Kenz." Her friend wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "How about we cook a frozen pizza and watch Mighty Ducks again?" She fought back a smile wondering if her wizard friend was sick of watching the same movie for the thousandth time that week.

"Fine." She agreed shifting her gaze back over to the Ash. "But I'm just taking a break. I'm not giving up on seeing her."

Hale nodded with a small understanding smile. "I wouldn't expect otherwise."

Taliesin continued holding her as they walked away, thankful there was at least one Fae on team Bo, Kenzi wrapped an arm around his skinny back watching Tamsin approach them cradling an Iphone in her hands. The detective's eyes rose from the small screen feeling the heat of her stare. "Tell your friends to leave Bo alone," Kenzi couldn't stop the wave of anger washing over her. "Post it on facebook or something because we're sick of seeing them on our roof. Don't forget who is king and princess of this castle."

"You mean prisoner?" Tamsin walked past them in the hall flashing a cruel smile. "Stay out of this human, Bo is Fae business now. Her fate is in our hands whether we like it or not."

"They gave her a key." Kenzi remembered out loud with annoyance watching the detective disappear into Trick's office.

"Pardon?"

Sleep wasn't possible last night, summoning her inner spy kid, she was wide awake listening to the three AM Morrigan drama. On the verge of sending every Dark Fae citizen under her command to capture Bo, Trick and Hale negotiated with the grieving leader for hours until they finally came to an agreement. The Morrigan would appoint a Dark Fae member all access to Bo and they would be allowed to see her as often as they'd like for whatever reason the Dark leader provided. "The Morrigan and Trick gave Tamsin an all access VIP pass to Bo."

"That sounds like an accident waiting to happen." The wizard commented. "Tamsin may work for both sides but her allegiance is with the Morrigan and they're both grieving over Mason."

An accident waiting to happen. The words lingered in her thoughts. "Trick and Hale will keep her safe until we fix her." Kenzi spoke with more confidence than she felt fighting back a shiver at Tamsin's words. Bo is Fae business now, a plan B escape plan was definitely in order.

A weak glimmer of light filled small parts of the room ruining the darkness, refusing to acknowledge anyone, brown eyes remained closed. Huddled in the corner, weighed down by a debilitating hunger, Bo couldn't entertain anyone. The footsteps approached her and the Under Fae in the next cell screamed and growled violently at her company. Internally encouraging the beast, she imagined him feasting on their live carcass leaving nothing to remember them by. "We need to talk." Two bites, her body visibly stiffened at the sound of his voice. It will take the Under Fae two bites to completely devour the mighty Blood King. Bo wished he'd do it now. Feigning sleep was difficult, a potent rage replaced the blood in her body running through the many highways of her veins. "Say something or at least look at me." Was he suicidal? She was bitter and starving, her eyes wouldn't be kind or warm, they'd be blue and deadly.

She kept them closed.

"I'm doing everything in my power to keep you safe." Trick's demanding voice deflated into defeat. In the darkness, Bo could hear the exhaustion in the weakly spoken words. Desperation lured him down the staircase to the hell he sentenced her to suffer in, his second visit with the devil herself. It was going a lot better than the first, she reasoned feeling the guard nearby alive and well. A reflex of discomfort traveled down her throat swallowing down a need to desperately feed. Lauren- She stopped her thoughts from continuing. They were all Light Fae employees subjecting their lives to never ending duties. Slaves to their higher masters, they were all better off dead. "Tamsin will be making frequent visits." Tamsin... The name intensified the urge to consume life. Bring her in now. Her mind demanded needing to sate the desire of a hungry succubus. "I'm sorry Bo but it's out of my control. The Morrigan demands she have access to you at all times and I must respect her wishes to keep the peace between both sides-"

"Fuck peace." Breaking her vow of silence with venomous words, her eyes opened brown and irrational. Trick never appeared as small as his height standing tired but fearless. Even the biggest guards buckled nervously under her stare, she wasn't the friendliest when bound and caged. On the verge of losing all sanity, no one's life was guaranteed in her presence. Not even her grandfather's and he knew her well. She could tell by the Koushang amulet resting near his heart. "Let me go and I'll find the Morrigan myself." He immediately shook his head 'no' at her request. "You can't keep me safe." Her wrists strained to free themselves desiring a new meal. "The Morrigan will find a way to kill me! I want a fair fight, let me go so I can-"

"In my prison you are alive and protected-"

"Until Tamsin strolls in with my katana again." She interrupted on the verge of screaming like her roommate. "I don't want your protection. You're keeping me weak and vulnerable, I need to leave. Either take these fucking handcuffs off me or give me to the Morrigan because I promise you, I swear to every fucking god I'll kill everyone in this fucking building when I get them off myself. You, Lauren, Hale- I will kill you all and enjoy every second of it."

A group of Light Fae soldiers hurried down to her cell with their weapons drawn. "Especially you." Blue transformed her eyes into a kid's in a candy store. "All of you." Her tone became seductively cruel eying the military with a consuming need for murder Trick recognized well.

"Everything is fine." He lied addressing the men and women under his command. All of them aimed their weapons on her head arousing her hunger for death. "I appreciate everyone's concern but I need a moment alone with Bo." Nobody moved, all eyes remained focused on Bo desiring her death as much as she desired theirs. Where's my boyfriend? She wondered casually scanning the many faces for the one she almost killed. "You are dismissed to wait outside. I'll be out shortly."

"Alright." One of them spoke lowering his weapon to reveal the fear in his eyes. "But any more threats and we'll be back." He spat in her direction with a lingering stare she couldn't help but smile at. He's cute, her mind whispered ferociously stirring a need to devour him. There's nothing stopping you, feed on him.

"What happened to you?" The soldier turned away from her captivating gaze remaining blue. "I need to know everything-"

"Fuck off." Seething with anger, an underline danger dripped from each syllable. Stuck in a literal bind preventing her from running, she was forced to deal with the consequences of her actions. Running was so much easier, finding the next town, the next human to satisfy an unquenchable hunger; Bo stared at her grandfather cornered by the mighty Blood King with eyes craving death.

"I can't help you unless-"

"FUCK OFF!" She repeated emphasizing her words louder now. "I've made up my mind, quit wasting your time. Nothing is going to stop me from killing you for this bullshit imprisonment." The promise hung heavily between them, an invisible fog surrounding grandfather and granddaughter. A subtle calm in her eyes guaranteeing each dangerous syllable spoken, she added, "Don't come back down here and keep Lauren away," a sadistic smile appeared entertaining the idea of seeing the doctor. "I dream of sucking her dry, grandpa. I want to kill her..." The taste of her former fiance filled her mouth seductively, "I want to murder her. I want to take her lips with mine and slowly kill her."

"Why?" His lungs strained to get the question out. Terror stricken and repulsed, he unconsciously took a step back from her cell. "Why?" He asked again unable to process the horror of her words.

"Because I can." Bo answered simply unable to contain the sudden spark in her eyes. "And I'll enjoy doing it."

He turned away from her unable to stomach the yearning for death anymore. Two guards appeared to accompany the Blood King's departure, "Where's my boy toy?!" They turned around expressing disdain and anger. "Tell him to come down so I can finish my fucking meal."

"I'll blow your head off before you finish your next fucking sentence!" The soldier replied, Trick ordered they continue to the top of the staircase closing the door behind them without a second glance Bo's way. Alone with the Under Fae, she sat back in the corner trying harder than ever to free herself. The Blood King's words were a fucking joke. Everyone wanted her dead, they all wanted to kill her as much as she wanted to kill them. A massacre brewed wildly in her imagination, not only did she want to drink the life away from every Light Fae employee, she wanted to swim in a ocean of their blood throwing her head back in laughter at their bobbing lifeless heads floating around her.

A flawlessly manicured hand traveled up the length of her quivering abdomen. The green in her eyes were vibrant and more alive as her lungs unsteadily inhaled and exhaled rapidly. "I'm not done yet." The promise was purred by lips kissing down her chest descending further down her body. Another orgasm was unfathomable, she lost count at fifteen and the sun was beginning to set. A low throaty chuckle filled the room when her hips jerked back from her mouth.

"Not yet." She breathed reaching out to cup the flawless face of the Morrigan. Not a strand of long brown curls out of place, she remained perfect at all times even after long hours of ravenous love making. Evony was incredibly beautiful, irresistible, sexy. "Just kiss me." The Dark leader followed orders taking her lips in a hungry kiss that left her breathless for the thousandth time that day. "Look out the window."

"It's dark." She said in amazement moving off the Valkyrie. Lying beside the detective on expensive white sheets, a toned arm fell over the dark leader's eyes covering her face. "It feels like we just had breakfast. I have a mountain of paperwork to go through." Freeing her eyes from the weight of her arm, she turned her head meeting green iris' shining with adoration. "Can you tell I've missed you?" She asked playfully shifting to run a hand up the length of her naked body.

The Valkyrie chuckled softly leaning forward to bury her hand in the softest tresses imaginable. "We haven't left the bed since I walked in last night." She kissed her lazily while continuing. "The great Morrigan, I've spent the last twenty four hours screaming out your name... yeah, I can tell you've missed me."

"It's the weekend." Her soft coo held a sultry promise accompanying a building desire in her eyes. "Fae don't kill humans on weekends." Another kiss followed the joke they both smiled at. "Which means," fondly trailing slender fingers through long gold hair, she continued softly. "You won't stop screaming until Monday."

"Lets take a food break." The Dark leader's appetite was unquenchable exploring the length of her naked flesh, her hands fueling the fire burning in her eyes, any hotter and the deep pools of brown would turn red like the blood rushing down to the Valkyrie's pulsating clit- "You have paperwork," she half moaned wrapping a hand around the wrist nestled between her thighs. "And I'm starving."

"Okay." The Morrigan groaned but it had nothing to do with passion. "It'd be a lot easier to behead my prisoners than file their paperwork." She spoke while removing her hands from the Valkyrie's flushed body. "I haven't been able to work since... Mason-" She turned away clearing her throat softly. "I'm so behind on everything."

The members of the Dark rarely cried but the Morrigan came terribly close. The death of her younger brother never came up in conversation. The Valkyrie rarely comforted sadness but the soft spot in her heart for the Dark leader made reaching out for her hand easy. Their time together was rare revolving solely around sex, they never exchanged 'I love yous' but the words could have slipped seeing the pain in her eyes. "She'll pay... I'll make sure she regrets what she did to him and you. All of us, we all miss him so much."

"I can't wait to see her." The enthusiasm dripped a quiet darkness promising the worst for the succubus. "She'll never know a second of peace in my prison. Not even the dog will be able to save her from my hands dripping red with her blood-"

"The dog?" Tamsin questioned suddenly feeling her heart leap in her throat.

The Morrigan idly ran a hand through her hair thinking out loud. "What's his name?" When the hand didn't produce the name from her thoughts, she rolled out of bed approaching the desk littered with folders and papers. "You know him," she assured thumbing through a stack of papers. "You were ordered to be his partner in the human world to keep our sides at peace..." on the verge of fainting, she lost all ability to speak feeling the name on the tip of her tongue... so the Morrigan spoke for her. "Dyson."

"Where?" She whispered inaudibly.

"In my prison." The response was casual as she placed the papers back down. "Would you like to see him?" She offered with a cruel giggle. "He's not quite looking himself lately. Homeless is a good word-"

"You should have told me!" The clothes scattered around the room formed a small pile in her arms as the Valkyrie collected yesterday's outfit from the floor. "Damn it, Evony! You can't just imprison my partner and not tell me! I've spent days trying to find him, the department has been freaking out since he disappeared-"

"I don't care who goes missing." The breath caught in her throat from the hand crushing her trachea. "Never, EVER raise your voice to me. Would you like the cell next to his?" Green eyes widened shaking her head no without breathing. "I could give a shit about the human world. Don't use my name again, I'm the Morrigan you little slut. I demand the utmost respect at all times." Falling to her knees, released from the Morrigan's deadly grasp, she saw stars behind closed eyes gulping down as much oxygen as possible. Oblivious to the Dark leader's departing footsteps, she collapsed on the floor fighting for each gasping breath.

The routine of walking past a sea of guards, escorted down a case of fifteen steps, never felt the same... especially today. I specialize in different Fae illnesses. The Fae specialist was a thin older man standing near her height with pale skin and dark hair and eyes. He did a routine physical, asked nearly a hundred questions, and filled five test tubes with her blood. I'm not too familiar with succubus and incubus attacks. They are considered a rare species of Fae most humans or Fae never see in a lifetime. He couldn't figure out what Bo did to her, didn't have a theory or idea what was producing the strange illness in her body or how she managed to make such a dramatic change to her biological makeup. After a two hour meeting with Trick and Hale, they denied his request to examine and study Bo for further answers, relying on the blood samples taken to produce them. The results came back normal, but the basic metabolic panel revealed an abnormality in her blood also found in Bo's.

"You are dismissed to wait outside Sargent Acis." A second shadow, a video recorder for the Light, he walked a few steps behind of her purposely at all times. Damien remained silent, blending in with the walls as promised, but she could feel him today. The badly lit room felt thick with stale air and noisy from the rowdy beast caged beside Bo- This wasn't her makeshift laboratory, Damien had no right to watch what she did in this room.

Nobody did.

Holding a metal brief case in one hand, the key to the lock hid against a lightly perspired palm. "Be careful," her assigned guardian spoke evenly before turning away and ascending up the stair case. Neither his voice or the soft echo of his boots caused the succubus to stir. We now share the same abnormality in our blood, the key nearly fell from quivering fingers at the sudden thought. Subconsciously entering the succubus' prison was terrifying, her hands wouldn't stop shaking and she mentally begged her defiant limbs forward. It's remarkable, Lauren told the former Ash after meeting Bo for the first time. Her biology is identical to humans, except for this... pulling up the test results on the Apple laptop, she tapped the screen with her index finger showing the Light Fae leader the strange chemical makeup. There's an abnormality in her blood, an unknown substance not found in any other Fae or human I've studied. I don't know what to call it or how it's produced in the body but a low percentage of it seems to be found in her blood. A low throaty chuckle began his response, Dr. Lewis, the unaligned succubus may look and act human, but she is far from identifying with your or my kind. The unknown factor you found is the evil associated with being a demon. With the right formula we may be able to tame her, control the evil inside of her before it gets out of hand... and then maybe use it to our advantage later on.

Knees drawn, Bo kept her face buried against the bars of her cell with eyes sealed shut. The silence made her job feel eerie and unpredictable. Bo, a hidden lioness waiting to emerge at the right second to sink sharp claws and teeth into her victim- The last five days of her incarceration were tense and draining. The succubus blatantly ignored everyone refusing to help them help her. Ignoring the little voice in her head begging for rest, weak knees lowered. Bo's arm remained limp and futile as she wrapped a yellow tourniquet above her elbow preparing the injection sight with an alcohol wipe. Brown eyes flickered up meeting a hidden face, feeling her breath quicken at the idea of seeing the corrupting blue fill a murderous stare directed at her- The syringe fell from her hand, an intense pressure filling her chest. I was always aware of the darkness inside of you, I've created several versions of the same vaccine to control your urges to kill and now nothing is working... your body is resisting my attempts to kill this evil thriving inside of you... a darkness that is so apart of who you are... attempting to eliminate or destroy it would go against everything nature had in store for you. I'm up against the very force that creates us all, you were just dealt a very different hand from everyone else, a deadly hand to everyone else- I've known the evil since day one but I've also seen your love for me shine in your eyes, burning feverishly in your touch or sometimes soft and sensually- you are more than this darkness flowing through your veins. I've seen it for myself! I won't convince myself it wasn't real... It was you as much as your desire to kill and feed is you... and now it's inside me too and I'll never understand why because you refuse to speak to me or anyone else! You sit huddled away in the corner silent like your dead, have you given up?! Are you just waiting to die?! You can't give up, I refuse to give up so you can't give up either! Please, please, please don't give up! I don't want to lose you, I can't lose you, I don't know what I'd do-

"Lauren, breathe. In and out slowly, in and out, Lauren-" We used to be so in love... we should be married on our honeymoon not stuck in this cage! We had everything planned, we planned everything together every small simple detail kissing and touching in between flipping through magazine articles and pointing out what we liked and what we found atrocious. You couldn't keep your hands off me, hands I never found terrifying, I never feared you not even when I felt your evil surfacing, when I saw a change in your eyes, felt you trembling to keep me alive as you fought the desire to drain all life from me. I trusted you completely and now I can't handle the idea of you looking at me! I can't handle the thought of your eyes turning back into the same monster who changed me! I never wanted to be like you! I trusted you, Bo and now I'm stuck confused and terrified of my own body and yours! What's going to happen to me? I have the same evil now, the same evil in your blood now flows inside of me and I have no idea how to- "Lauren!"

Panicked lungs stopped along with the hectic thoughts creating chaos throughout her limbs and organs. Behind closed eyes, she could feel her world spiraling out of control its weight crashing down on her heart, a rough pair of lips swallowing desperate cries for help, she suddenly turned her head away from them unable to breathe. "Bo, Bo, Bo, Bo, Bo..." The lips softened against her panicked flesh, trailing down a trembling jaw, sucking down her heaving neck- Feeling the barest hint of even teeth rake against her skin, the succubus' mouth found the charm of the ancient necklace, ripping the Koushang from her throat, the sound of her shield helplessly clinging on the cold cement nearby; she suddenly became a convenient meal for the demanding appetite of a bitter succubus.

Don't ever see Bo without the Koushang, Trick's warning rang loudly in her ears. She wants to kill you Lauren.

Three years... she knew Bo better than anyone else, understood her need to feed, an addiction she could never win, an appetite only sated for a little while and then returning with a vengeance. Always craving more... the victims could be anyone, her dark desire didn't judge or care who was left dead on the ground after taking all life from them. Catering to the evil in her veins, the unknown substance brought to her attention years ago would always come first to the succubus and to assume otherwise would be foolish and wrong. Dr. Lewis, the unaligned succubus may look and act human, but she is far from identifying with your or my kind. The thin layer of skin hiding her eyes quivered as they lifted revealing a fearful calm in brown iris'. The unknown factor in her blood is the evil associated with being a demon. And the demon knew no boundaries sitting a hairs breath away from her. A blank blue stare captivated all movement. On her knees, she couldn't look away. This would be her death feeling the softest pair of lips envelop her own, she kept her eyes open memorizing every detail of her beautiful nightmare and deadliest dream, a last picture sacredly stored in her memory to cherish forever in whatever afterlife.

A soft vibration reverberated up her throat but the soft moan never made a sound. Floating away, the warmth started from the crown of her head and ended at the very tips of her fingers and toes. Euphoria drowned away fear as her body flourished from a new energy being transferred through each intensifying kiss her lips welcomed eagerly. The soft face and hair in her hands became more intoxicating than new breaths of life, keeping her hands buried in long tresses, they yearned to wander everywhere ripping the succubus' clothes apart and taking her to unimaginable heights of quivering limbs and united heartbeats. The Under Fae's screams were drowned out by her own moans of ecstasy as she accepted all the succubus had to offer until her darling body could do no more than collapse silently against her.

Mason, a beloved political figure to the Dark, buried six feet underground with a mountain of roses hiding the only reminisce of existence- A tombstone reading 'A Hero to All Dark, Your Name will Never Die. Your Legacy Will Forever be Immortal.' The tears of the Dark mourning all over the world could fill the infinite sea, a sea of hatred flowing among them all. Funerals weren't taken lightly with the Dark, someone had to pay for the loss of their love. The bearer of bad news stood close, faraway in her own thoughts, the silence smothering, he looked away focusing on a worthless pebble. The Valkyrie's voice weighed heavy with hatred filling the wolf in on Bo's recent kill. Dyson could have pulled each strand of his hair from frustration, urging his body off the ground, pacing around the small space like a caged animal in captivity, he looked up further enraged by the deteriorating ceiling of the prison. "Mason would still be alive if I were free." The contours of his face briefly shifted from human to beast wanting to lash out at the surrounding walls containing him. "Bo's chances of survival are non existent. One of you will kill her in the glorious name of Mason Marquise."

A sudden fit of laughter erupted, he turned his head puzzled at the blonde's response. "She nearly sucked a Light Fae soldier dry after waking up in the Dal." Shaking her head from side to side almost playfully, she continued. "One of you will be just as quick to kill her. She's pissing both sides off, testing our patience. Don't forget, partner. You're in here because of her, she attacked you on Dark Fae territory and left you to die."

"Bo has no control over her actions." He defended unable to blame the succubus for his imprisonment. "She's not herself right now."

"Or maybe she is and that's the problem." The Valkyrie never trusted Bo, agreeing to remain cordial, that was the extent of her relationship with the succubus. The negativity was mutual, Bo enjoyed the rare necessary feed from her but nothing else. Tamsin jumped at the chance to turn everyone against the succubus, especially after beheading Mason, but Dyson couldn't find the will to betray his love for Bo.

"Someone or something has their hands in this." He refused to believe anything else. "Her power and capabilities skyrocket overnight and you expect me to believe 'who she is' is the problem. That's not possible, tell the Morrigan to free me and I will find out who is responsible for this."

"Your leader is your best friend," The difference between Light and Dark became painfully evident in the swirl of purple, black, and yellow painting the Valkyrie's neck. "The Morrigan doesn't support freedom of speech." Slender fingers released the thin material of a high neck sweater, hiding the Morrigan's cruel reminder to keep her words in her mouth. Dyson's eyes remained shocked from witnessing the large bruise. "You might be in here awhile longer."

"Does Hale and Trick know I'm here?" If the Dark refused to free him peacefully than the Light would intervene forcefully.

"Everyone thinks Bo killed you." Pissing off both sides was an understatement, guilty of killing Mason of the Dark, suspected of killing Dyson of the Light, two prominent members of Fae society; the succubus was digging a deep grave with her own hands. Unaligned murdering Fae from both sides, he would have to get out quick to restore any chance of her survival.

"Let them know I'm here." Walking to the entrance of the cell, he stood still for the first time since standing, eyes pleading into the Valkyrie's. Forced into a partnership against their will, they initially clashed, briefly hooked up, and now couldn't imagine anyone else by their side. Over the years, they solved many murders, covered up many Fae deaths, solved countless mysteries, Dyson's eyes silently pleaded with Tamsin begging for her help. "They'll find a way to get me out."

"I'll let them know you're alive and well in the Morrigan's prison." Tamsin promised reaching up to touch the dry fingers wrapped around the rusty bars separating them. "Just be patient," the detective rolled her eyes. "Unfortunately we're all learning to be patient when it comes to the Fae justice system."

"You love her." Standing quietly in the shadows with the succubus in the cross hairs of his rifle, Sargent Damien Acis stared incredulously at the woman he watched kiss and caress a monster on death row. "Do you realize how incredibly foolish that was?" Berating her like a small child, he wrapped an arm around her thinning frame assisting the frail doctor up the staircase. "She ripped the Koushang off your throat, Dr. Lewis after expressing a need to kill you to her grandfather-"

"I thought I dismissed you," she interrupted drained from holding in a never ending sob threatening to tear her apart. Bo fell unconscious in her arms giving her what little energy remained in her body, cradling the succubus closely against her, she could have wept for days at the devastation of peering down into her sleeping face. So many nights spent silently fawning over that same peaceful expression, kissing her face softly before slipping beside her in bed. I love you, lets sleep in tomorrow. A small smile shaped her lips hearing the sleepy words murmured near her ear. I don't care about the Fae and their problems, I just want you, Dr. Dennis Lewis. "She won't hurt me."

"That's not what Sire Trick said." They reached the top of the staircase, Lauren walked out of the basement first followed by her much stronger shadow. "Please just be more careful next time, I almost blew her head off."

"Then learn to follow orders." She snapped walking briskly to the makeshift lab. "I can handle myself around Bo."

"Dr. Lewis you are fighting an illness she has infected you with." The Sargent reminded witnessing the full extent of her physical with the specialist. "How can you still love that monster?" The doctor was brilliant and beautiful despite the overworking toll evident in her eyes and body. "She's as good as dead, Lauren." The blonde turned around wanting to fight him but didn't have the energy to do much more than shake her head no. "You need to rest, doctor." He wrapped his arms around her again. "You've been up 32 hours now." He took the metal briefcase from her hands and placed it on a nearby table. "You can look at this later but for now let me escort you to your room for rest."

Lauren obliged forced by her body's demand for rest and vocalized by her unwanted shadow. "Honey, the sun's about to rise and you're still playing with your telescope." Arms wrapped around her from behind followed by a soft kiss to her neck.

"Microscope, dear and Hale needed these samples evaluated for mutations by morning." Lauren pulled away from the lens leaning back into the warm body holding her.

"Come to bed so I can hold you." Lauren removed her lab coat and slipped under the soft covers of the guest bed allowing Bo's haunting voice to lure her to sleep. "I'll help you finish your science stuff later, our cuddly sleep is far more important right now..." A sad smile followed as she hugged the pillow in her arms a little tighter drifting into a dreamless sleep.
