Chapter 8
"I trusted you!" An accusing finger stopped inches away from the Light leader's face, he remained quiet accepting the dark haired human's anger. "And now Bo is lying in a hospital bed almost dead! Under your watch," but he wasn't solely responsible. The heat of her stare burned holes into the Blood King sitting at his ancient desk flipping through the many pages of a brown leather journal. "Now is not the time to catch up on your fairy tales, dude. You have to fix this. How long has she been sick?" Kenzi demanded looking from Trick to Hale.
"Would you have volunteered your life to keep her healthy?" Trick continued examining the book without looking up. She wasn't used to standing in the room Hale and Trick privately plotted their master schemes in. Placing a glass to the wall in the next room worked just fine, she preferred the air in the vacant guest room over standing in the one thickened with secrets. "We can't force her to eat without draining her of power first." He spoke casually hiding his concern under a cloak of confidence. "We've accomplished that and now she can no longer take her own life. Don't worry, Kenzi. I won't let anything bad happen to my granddaughter. I'm doing everything in my power to keep her alive and well against her own will."
"Why doesn't she want our help?" Terror reaching her eyes also settled in the way her lips parted, "I want to see her." She spoke suddenly needing proof her friend was okay, words weren't enough anymore. "You're making it seem like she doesn't want-" Filling in the blanks, the answer a knife through her heart as she stood clutching at her chest. "Bo's been trying to kill herself... I should have known... why didn't I know?!" Anger returned aimed rightfully at the Fae who kept her from her best friend needing her the most. "Bo needed me down there, but you two kept me from her. For what? So she can feel alone and abandoned by you assholes! Your supposed to be her family and what do you do? You treat her like a monster, you treat her like the mommy dearest she despises!"
"Bo isn't the same." Trick responded calmly to the anger pooling in her eyes. Attempting to calm the human, Hale wrapped an arm around her shoulders providing a comfort she fought against pushing away from. Trusting the Fae wasn't easy, they were politicians using their words convincingly to escape the prosecutions of their actions. Kenzi didn't know what was real and what was sugar coated anymore, she was tired and mourning the loving caring succubus who would never ponder the idea of suicide. "She told us what happened on her wedding day, her father is involved and he won't stop until he gets Bo."
"Her father?" She looked up at Hale who silently nodded confirmed the Blood King's words with a head nod. "Who is her father- What- What does he want with Bo?"
"He's very powerful and dangerous." Looking away from the human fiddling with her hands nervously, Trick hesitated in revealing the evil of Bo's father to her. The extent of his power unknown, he caught a glimpse of the overwhelming evil twice in his life, fearing the end of it in both occasions so long ago; he swallowed hard feeling the memories rattle his composure. "The less you know about Bo's father the better." The urge to leave the room and perform a full security sweep of the Dal was in order. "You're not safe here, Kenzi. We have to send you and Taliesin back to his family in New York for a little while, you'll be safe there. We don't know who he'll target next or what his intentions are but I promise you are no longer safe here."
"I can't leave Bo." She gasped stepping closer to the desk. "She- She needs me. I have to protect her."
"He won't hurt Bo." Trick promised knowing her loyalty to Bo overlaped reason and safety; he would have to force her to New York against her will if it meant keeping her alive. "He has big plans for Bo, I have to intervene and prevent them but I can't do that if I'm worried about your safety. The trip is just temporary, think of it as a vacation until things go back to normal." They were going to send her hundreds of miles away from Bo, "She made you promise to do whatever it takes to stop her from becoming a monster. Bo didn't want you to see her this way, I gave her my word I would protect you from her at all costs. You know how much she loves and cares about you, we've arranged a flight for you, Taliesin and a couple of our guards. If you can't do it for yourself, at least do it for Bo."
The proposal wasn't a question. She had no options or say in the matter. "Okay." Kenzi agreed having no other choice. "But I'd like to see her first," Hale looked over at Trick nodding his permission. "Say goodbye in case I never get to see her again."
"We'll have a car ready for you and Taliesin to visit Bo at Light Laboratories, but you two must pack first." Two plane tickets were removed from the top drawer of the desk, Trick placed them in plain view pushing them near the edge. "Your flight leaves tonight. You'll go straight to the airport after saying goodbye to Bo."
"Thank you," she faked appreciation becoming a simple pawn on a board full of kings devising the next several moves. "I'll let Taliesin know we're flying to his crib. I've always wanted to take the subway."
"He already knows." Trick mentioned casually clasping his hands into a tight ball on top of the desk.
"When did you tell him?" Kenzi knew Taliesin wouldn't keep any secrets from her, the conversation felt strange. The whole situation felt strange. It was undeniably Fae.
"Just now." He answered turning his head to look at his favorite painting on the wall. A depiction of a large boat struggling against the savage waves of the sea, a storm coloring the sky gray with lightning. Staring hard enough, Kenzi could hear the loud thunder of the beast hiding in the clouds. "There are cameras in every room of the Dal, we know about your eavesdropping. Pack your bags Taliesin and tell your father hello for me. I know how much your family loves humans, they'll adore Kenzi."
"On that note," Uncomfortable boots shuffled awkwardly towards the office door, embarrassed eyes meeting the two Light leaders bashfully. "I have a lot of packing to do, Mighty Ducks DVD and all. Thanks again for your protection." She slipped out of the room internally panicking, plotting. A pawn against two kings, you better think of something quick Kenz or you'll never see Bo again.
A blur of darkness and light merged together in a fog floating above her head accompanying a soft hum in the distance. Eyes struggling to remain open, vision faulty and anemic, falling back into the dreamless depths of sleep overwhelmed all restrained senses; Bo's head lolled to the left of a stiff pillow tugging at the shackles wrapped around feeble wrists and ankles weakly demanding their freedom. The smell of sanitizer drifted from the air vent on the ceiling, a familiar clean scent luring indecisive eyes fully awake. The Dal no longer housing her prison; the succubus preferred the cold cement, screaming Under Fae, and ass hole soldiers over the staff of Light Laboratories.
Over Lauren catering to her every pathetic need on a whim.
"No," a mouth full of sand replaced the saliva lining the inside of her throat. "No." The near silent machines around the bed made more noise than her attempt at speech- She wanted to scream in frustration, weeks of starving herself to death meant nothing now. Lying in a hospital bed at Light Laboratories, they forced her to live, forced a recovery she didn't want. A life she no longer cared for; As a teenager, she killed her childhood sweetheart and fled, as an adult, she killed anyone for no reason and wanted to die. With nowhere else to run and hide from the Fae demanding her execution, desiring a destiny steered by her own hands, death was her only answer.
Her only righteous path.
"Here," a pink plastic rim was placed between her lips, Bo drank the water eagerly hydrating the dry walls of her mouth. Her eyes fell shut in bliss with each cool trickle sliding down her raw throat, they remained that way feeling the cup leave her lips. "Bo."
This wasn't about Lauren. "You saved my life," the doctor gave her a voice again, listening carefully to each coarsely spoken word. On the verge of murmuring 'your welcome' the words were killed by what the succubus really meant. "You shouldn't have." Seething hatred surrounding black pupils bore into the eyes of her doctor who stood at her bedside expressing nothing. "I want to die-"
"I know you do." Lauren folded her arms across her chest forbidding her hands from physically soothing the woman yearning for death. Distinguishing patient from soul mate, her mind struggled to remain professional, knees on the verge of buckling onto the bed with her former fiance, arms enveloping her starving sick frame, kissing her feverish brow and dry lips- she wanted to both love and hurt the succubus responsible for so much... damage. "You should have died the night you," she cleared her throat softly speaking quietly for Bo's ears only. "The night I got pregnant." Nestled under tightly folded arms, inside the safety of her womb, a baby grew slowly between them. "Reproducing kills your species nine times out of ten, you knew that but still – you were going to kill yourself and leave me alone to raise our child... why?"
The question was a burden to her weakened state, she almost felt too sick to answer. Too hungry to think of anything outside of fulfilling her body's selfish need for life. Lauren wasn't an option, carrying her child, the doctor needed her energy and strength to fulfill the demands of a growing cambion. Feeding the unborn succubus or incubus her own power, the baby was likely to grow into a thriving incubus or succubus capable of slaughtering the Fae in the name of vengeance if she were ever murdered. "The Nain Rouge showed me a vision," the array of emotions spilling from Lauren's eyes was absent from her tone. "Ending in my death. I had to change the course of my fate where I'm in control again. I refuse to live any other way."
"Giving me a baby was your way of regaining control over your future?" Gazing down into a face she once yearned to vow her love to, in sickness and in health, a one sided declaration the succubus would never return, her mind slowly drifted away losing itself to the beginning stages of mourning. This wasn't the woman she fell in love with, a visit from her father forever damaged that reality.
Forever damaged that woman.
"I had to do something, anything to prove that annoying dead girl wrong. Even if it meant killing myself or-"
"There is a baby growing inside of me. Our baby, Bo-" The conversation was draining and emotional, pointless. The eyes of her succubus remained dry unlike her own. Tears fell faster than she could blink, the difference between human and demon, she was capable of love and Bo no longer knew the feeling. "You have to reverse the pregnancy, I refuse to bring a child into the Fae world."
A possessing anger zeroed in on the blonde doctor proposing the death of her unborn child. Any illness or weakness vanished instantly with a bitter curl to her lips. "I'm not killing my baby and unless you want to die, you're not killing my baby either."
"That's not up to you like having my body invaded in the most horrific intrusive way possible wasn't up to me." Lauren reached up to dry some of her tears feeling more anger than sadness. "I'll go to Trick if you won't fix this-"
"Then I'll kill him also." Bo promised lacking a desire to kill herself anymore. An internal battle between good and evil constantly raged wildly in the back of her mind, weak from feeding encouraged the humanity in her to slay the beast threatening to kill anyone, including her family, but that humanity didn't stand a chance against the uprising demon flourishing back to life. "I'll kill anyone who terminates your pregnancy and then I'll kill their families, I'll kill their children. You wanted me alive, Lauren well here I am alive and well to see and raise my child regardless of how you feel."
"That's not possible, I'm sorry Bo but I refuse to bring a child into your dark world. Every Fae would jump at the chance to hunt your child and murder them for your crimes. Why do you think Trick was forced to hide you with humans? Every Fae wanted you dead from birth... I'm protecting my child from a life of hiding in constant fear of the Fae."
The Fae, she internally snickered wanting to reassure their child would one day play and frolic on top of their mass grave sights. Dark and Light united finally together under a sea of rotting dirt, but Lauren was one of their employees, she wouldn't appreciate her vision. "Unhook me from these machines." She demanded instead feeling various needles and tubes sprout from the veins of her arms, craning her neck back, in the darkness she briefly watched the monitors and machines slowly drip medication and nutrients into her body, securing her survival. "I want all of it out of my body," her eyes found Lauren's again. "Now, Dr. Lewis, take them out now-"
"Is everything okay?" Damien placed a hand on the small of Lauren's back concerned by the conversation he over heard. Lauren didn't answer or reject his hand, she stood frozen in place staring down at the succubus with anguish that made her whole body tremble. He followed her stare feeling the muscles in his back grow rigid. Reaching for the weapon on his waist, Lauren quickly touched his arm stopping him.
"Don't," she pleaded but his hand remained on his weapon.
"Her eyes are blue-"
"Either he dies or I die," Darkness clouded her vision desiring the soldier holding the mother of her unborn child too closely to him. Lauren could only save one of them, consciousness faded into darkness deciding for the doctor who would die. Seeing his arms wrapped lovingly around Lauren's shaking body, watching him touch her fiance so boldly in front of her- She enjoyed sucking the life out of him, removing his hands from Lauren's body- he had to die and she would flourish miraculously from his-
"Damien, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Gasping violently for breath, the tall soldier sat up with Lauren's help wildly reaching for his weapon- "It- it's okay," she reached out brushing the stubble on his jaw with her fingers, cupping his face as he fought to breathe, live. "I shot a sedative into her arm, she's out, she can't hurt you anymore."
"That makes two of us." He responded opening his eyes with a promise that bore silently into her tear streaked face. After sending the rest of his men home to rest along with the loud obnoxious mesmer, Damien lingered nearby the distracted doctor monitoring the succubus' every unconscious move. He never expected the demon to wake up or the conversation between the two women that followed. "We can't let your pregnancy continue," The doctor knew but that didn't stop the anguish from reaching her eyes. "Under normal circumstances the child would be human, but it's the spawn of a devil who is likely to inherit Bo's evil power."
"I know," Lauren abruptly dropped her hand, Damien reached out taking it between his own.
"I know this all must be very difficult for you." The Sargent sympathized after weeks of witnessing the doctor's inner turmoil on many levels. The pregnancy was the topping of a very disastrous emotional cake. Still holding Lauren's hands, he helped the doctor stand up despite feeling her knees quiver, "If you want to grab something to eat, I'll watch Bo until you get back." She hadn't left the room in days and he never witnessed food anywhere near the doctor's mouth. The room was large but the air was smothering, maybe the lingering effects of nearly being sucked to death- Damien just wanted to see a small sense of normality in the doctor's routine for once. Watching over Bo obsessively, sleeping in a stiff chair, and not eating wasn't healthy on any level.
"Damien I can't-"
"You shot a sedative into her arm, she'll be out for hours." He reasoned reassuring her with a kind smile. "She'll be fine Lauren and as will I until you get back. The day is beautiful outside, go enjoy it."
The brown in her eyes strayed to the bed, Damien noticed the hesitation on the verge of offering to grab her something to eat and returning back to the room with it- "Thank you, Damien." She met his eyes again and pulled him into a surprisingly heartfelt hug, "I'll be back soon."
"Take your time, Dr. Lewis, Bo will be alright until you return."
The late afternoon sun shared its heat pleasantly from a cloudless blue sky. Wisps of blonde hair shook gently in the kind breeze whispering peacefully to her, calming the many anxious thoughts traveling behind sad eyes, exhaustion blackening the subtle skin underneath. Bo couldn't be trusted awake around anyone, Dark or Light, human or Fae- she didn't hesitate to murder, the demands of a succubus destined to always win, the woman she once loved channeled all inner strength to fight the lurking beast on a daily basis- the woman lying on the hospital bed willingly handed the beast over reigns to her body, allowing the evil coursing through her veins complete control over her life.
Trick called earlier that day promising to pay a visit to his detained granddaughter. Lauren held a plain ham sandwich on white bread in her hand forcing each small bite down for her... unborn child. She closed her eyes wanting the subtle breeze to take her away, somewhere far far away from all the worries and fear. Bo refused to reverse the pregnancy, wanting to raise their child all of a sudden. Watching her attempt to kill the soldier assigned to protect her, Lauren knew for a fact her former fiance wasn't ready for motherhood. The sooner she told Trick, the sooner he would save her unborn child the hell of being born into the most dysfunctional royal family in Fae history.
And that was just the good side.
The bad side, Bo's father, summoning an evil strength within his daughter to come alive, a lethal one convincing her to kill all without consequence. Without tracking the entity of evil himself down, Lauren wasn't sure how to reverse the dark changes in Bo. It's her father, Lauren. He came to her in a dream the day of your wedding. A dream was responsible for everything going to hell, he had the power to destroy three years of solid will power, love, morality, and happiness with one visit to her dreams and the only way to properly fix her would be to find him.
Lauren brought the tasteless sandwich up to her lips again watching one of Trick's vehicles park near the main entrance. "Lauren!" God damn it, Bo. There were too many victims in all of this, too many sleepless nights for too many people. Kenzi ran up the stone steps embracing her desperately at the top. Holding the dark haired girl closely to her, she kept the girl from physically falling apart allowing her to sob heavily against her. "How- How- How is she?"
"Her fever is beginning to break and she's thinking a lot clearer now. No more seizures and she's tube feeding to put some weight back on her." Kenzi pulled away with a reddened face to match her distraught wet eyes. Lauren brushed a few strands of hair plastered to her cheek from tears sympathizing with the extent of her pain.
"Sh- she tried to kil- kill herself, Lauren." A black and red striped glove reached up to dry her face, lip quivering as she fought to keep more tears from falling.
"I know." The doctor answered honestly following Trick's orders to not intervene in her starvation. Wanting his granddaughter weak enough to force her cooperation, her refusal to eat would only make the drugs in her system work better. Too weak to fight them, Trick would be able to get the necessary answers out of her without the use of his guards or torture techniques.
Kenzi was kept in the dark about a lot of things, she looked uncertain, almost confused as her heavy boots stepped back putting distance between them. "They're sending me away to New York after I see Bo."
"I know." The doctor responded again having received a phone call from Trick informing her of their plans. "You'll be safer there until she gets better."
Kenzi unconsciously nodded her head falling back into the warmth of the doctor's arms. "I want to see her." She murmured with exhaustion weighing her words down. "You dropped your sandwich."
Lauren pulled away with a smile. "It wasn't that great anyway." She looked up noticing the tall young man leaning over the rail of the middle step, staring off into the distance. "I'm sorry I've never properly introduced myself." Catching glimpses of Kenzi with the shaggy haired boy, she knew he was a young wizard but not much else. "I'm Dr. Lewis." He regarded her with a brief smile.
"It's nice to formally meet you, I know you're a busy woman. My name is Taliesin my family is close to Trick. We'll be heading to the airport to see them after our visit here. I can't wait to show Kenzi the big apple."
"It sounds like a well deserved break from all this madness." The doctor gave him a small smile turning her attention to the blue eyes staring back at her. "I gave Bo a sedative so she won't be awake, but you can see her and I'll let her know you stopped by when she wakes up again."
"Thank you." Kenzi followed Lauren into the private Fae hospital, noticing a few minor differences. A new plant in the waiting area along with a new Fae at the main window. She flashed her a timid smile missing the plump older Fae who used to feed her sugary snacks while she waited for Bo and Lauren to finish their medical evaluations on whatever mystery they were trying to solve. Walking through the security door scanning Lauren's thumb print, she felt her nerves quiver nervously hating hospitals and doctors.
The first floor always bustled with activity, the dark haired human always felt like she was in everybody's way. A tall large older doctor pushed a hospital bed passed them with a patient holding a bloody towel to his head. She rubbed her upper arms feeling the creeps crawl under her skin. "It's alright, we'll be in Bo's room soon and won't have to see anymore blood."
"Yeah, hopefully." She responded to the taller wizard walking in time with her own hurried foot steps. The elevator came into view and she pushed in front of Lauren and Taliesin to push the up arrow. "I think I just showed my age." She said sheepishly feeling a fresh burst of excitement at seeing Bo.
"I thought you were a little older than ten." Lauren winked playfully stepping into the elevator with her and Taliesin. It was the doctor's first joke since her wedding day, Kenzi chuckled softly basking in the familiarity of laughing with her friends again. The situation wasn't getting any better, but they were trying to stay positive.
A big toothy smile caused the small star on his cheek to rise closer to his eye. "And look who we have here." Vex examined the trio with glee. "I get bored of looking at those ugly soldiers. Maybe now I can have some fun around here." His eye brows rose and fell suggestively staring from Kenzi to Taliesin. "Would anyone fancy a quickie in the men's room? I love your pants!" He exclaimed admiring the tight black leather adorning Kenzi's legs. "Maybe I can try them on when we finish."
"Maybe," Kenzi responded beginning to follow Lauren and Taliesin towards the room. "Don't leave without saying goodbye." She called over her shoulder.
"I just got here." Vex smiled triumphantly walking away in the opposite direction.
Burying her hands into the pockets of the black jacket she wore, blue eyes went around the room noticing Lauren's soldier before stopping near the succubus. "Bo Bo..." she whispered approaching the bed in slow motion needing the time with each step to process the different machines and tubes and wires- her sleeping face struggled in sleep, head moving from side to side, a nightmare plaguing her dreams. "Bo Bo." She spoke again staring down at the prominent bones in her face. She tried to starve herself to death, defeat the monster inside of her. The old Bo was somewhere in there fighting her evil self to keep her family safe. "I'm going to keep you safe too." She promised silently feeling the eyes of the Fae watching her every move. We're getting out of here Bo Bo, together.
Kenzi rarely ventured down the halls of Light Laboratories fearing the Fae patients and staff. Humans and Dark Fae were strictly prohibited, she had to smile seeing Vex step out of the elevator. The staff could have mistaken the day for a Twilight Zone episode, a human and Dark Fae frolicking in their hallways. The third floor was the intensive care floor, silent and dimly lit for the patient's comfort. "I think I want to try your pants on too."
A glimmer of interest reached his eyes as he closed the distance between them. "I'm sure Light Laboratories wouldn't mind if we borrowed one of these rooms for a moment." Taking her hand, Kenzi looked around giggling at their mischief. With no witnesses around, they walked into a vacant patient room drawing the privacy curtain closed from any potential prying eyes.
Her hands raked over the leather donning the mesmer's thin but powerful body as she smiled up into his face. "Lets play doctor," she suggested walking backwards toward the neatly made hospital bed. "You're not looking too good today, Mr. badass mesmer what brings you into my hospital today?" Kissing his lips with a playful giggle, Kenzi turned them around forcing the mesmer onto the bed.
"I have a stiffy that needs immediate medical attention," he kissed her again burying his hand into her dark hair. "Would you happen to have a cure in mind?"
"Oh yeah, I can take care of that right away." Fully reclining back onto the bed, Vex gripped her hips pulling her up with ease to straddle his waist. Leaning forward, she kissed him again idly feeling like a succubus. Using her body to accomplish a goal, feeling a distinct high from her body's natural arousal to the mesmer's hands groping at her breasts and ass, thrusting his hardness against her throbbing clit- she almost forgot the syringe hiding in her pocket... almost.
"Wha-" the mesmer couldn't finish the word as a needle pierced his neck. Kenzi watched the vile of red disappear into the body under her own feeling her heart quicken for a new reason. Bo was one step closer to freedom, to fleeing town with her and Taliesin, maybe to New York- No they would have to flee the country, maybe somewhere in Europe...
"Bo needs your help." The mesmer's hand went up to the injection sight staring at her conflicted by the new blood circulating in his system. "You have to free her at all costs." Incapable of saying no, biologically drawn to the sleeping succubus, bound to her by blood, he pushed Kenzi aside without saying a word and stormed out of the vacant room.
Following quickly behind, the human felt a pang of fear in what she saw the mesmer's eyes, a darkness matching Bo's. Vex was capable of doing anything carelessly and conscious free much like her old roommate. Bo's blood coursing through his veins, he stepped inside of the room stopping to half courtesy. "Hello lovely, you're looking much better now," blue eyes greeted him with an alertness he found eerily irresistible. "Thank you all for the wonderful hospitality," his arms went up targeting the soldier with his weapons drawn. "But we must be leaving now."
"What are you doing?" Lauren demanded stepping away from the computer-
"Ah ah ah, take another step and GI Joe over here splatters cherry pie all over the wall behind your pretty little head." The soldier controlled by his left arm aimed his automatic weapon at the frozen doctor. "Now, the sooner we release our darling succubus, the sooner this will be over and you can all go back to your pathetic miserable lives. Unlock her Dr. Lewis," reaching into the pocket of her lab coat, an expression of pure horror masked the doctor's face.
"I don't have the key."
"I have it." Kenzi called out near the entrance of the room revealing the silver ring with three dangling keys echoing in the silent room.
"You- You did this." Further investigating the items in her coat, Lauren looked from Vex to Kenzi. "You stole the keys from me outside and my... my latest blood sample..." She looked back to Vex following his free arm to the entrance of the room where two returning guards stood frozen.
"What the fuck is going on?!" One of them demanded fighting to move his body. It was a lost cause as the mesmer forced both men to enter the room and then draw their weapons.
"I love a good puppet show," He said with glee pointing more weapons at Lauren.
"Kenzi what have you done?" With a horrific gasp, she met the other human in the room. "This isn't a good idea. Hand me back the keys and-"
"Don't listen to her Kenz," Bo spoke from the bed, eyes as blue as the sky. "Look at what these monsters did to me. They were afraid of my power and refused to feed me. I never tried to kill myself they starved me to get information out of me. Let me out so we can free Dyson from the Morrigan, he's alive in her prison waiting for us to rescue him."
"She's lying, this isn't our Bo-"
"Kenzi knows better than to trust the Fae," the succubus addressed the doctor coldly. "And you're no better wearing a Light Laboratory badge around your neck."
"Bo you are Fae, you are more Fae than anyone else in this hospital." Lauren reminded with her own bitterness. "No you're worst," she met Kenzi's stare from across the room held at gun point. "She's a demon, a ruthless, heartless monster who will kill us all the second she gets the chance. Run and throw those keys into the nearest fire, she can't be trusted freed from her restraints. Not right now and most likely not ever."
"Do you blame her for wanting to kill you?" Kenzi walked further into the room, approaching the bed. "You and Trick tortured her for information," staring down into the depths of a calm blue gaze, the trust in her best friend's eyes pleading for her help- the key entered the hole of the first cuff. "You guys are the monsters here, not her."
"Kenzi you must stop now-"
"I'm putting an end to her torture," freeing her first arm, she leaned over the bed to free the second. "You, Trick and Hale betrayed my trust and I'm getting my best friend out of here and we're going to Europe."
"Europe sounds fun," an overwhelming surge of power rushed down her spine, her eyes remained blue staring at the star branded face. She could feel her blood in his body, the power and strength of the mesmer merged together with her own. "Take this shit out of me or I'll rip them out myself."
"Do it!" Vex ordered forcing the soldier to step further in her direction with the gun.
Lauren ran a hand through her hair, a stressful gesture not lost to the succubus on the bed. One by one, she disconnected the still body from the machines feeling blue eyes monitor her every move. The close contact suffocating, Lauren held her breath the entire time unhooking her from every tube and wire with quick and expert hands. "You're free," the doctor murmured in horrific defeat stepping back near the computer. "Jesus, you're free." She gasped shakily from the opposite side of the bed.
"You did the right thing," standing from the bed, her knees almost buckled under the foreign sensation of standing without restraints. "Thank you, I love you so much, Kenz." Pulling the human into a hug, she placed a brief kiss on the crown of her head. "You did the right thing." Looking into her tearful blue eyes, Bo placed another kiss on her forehead. "We're going to free Dyson from the Morrigan and then I'm going to kill her." A sinister grin tilted her lips, she walked away from the dark haired human focusing on sandy blood hair and sun kissed skin.
"God, you're so hot."
Damien stared at her with a pleading terror in his eyes, unable to speak from the hold Vex had on him; his gaze desperately begged Lauren for his life, knowing she'd be the only one to talk the succubus out of killing him. "Leave him alone, please Bo don't-"
"Why?" She asked keeping her back turned to the doctor. "Are you fucking him?" Accusing her of loving him wasn't possible, in her dark mind, the mother of her unborn child was incapable of loving somebody else. They were no longer in love, they didn't trust each other, the doctor wanted their child dead, but Lauren still belonged to her and anyone who dared touch her property would inevitably feel her wrath.
"His name is Damien and he's he's innocent." Lauren's words meant nothing to her with Vex controlling a soldier to keep a gun aimed at his snarling head, her hands ran up his taunt chest putting him under a spell that brought euphoria to his eyes. Damien sighed softly returning her deadly embrace, "Trick assigned him to protect me, he's a close friend of your grandfather's. Bo! If you kill him all hell will break loose, Bo! No, please stop it, Bo..." Her lips enveloped him softly at first demanding more seconds later, his hungry hands ran up the length of her naked back, the bones disappearing back into her flesh as she fed from him, healing herself by killing him. "Bo please, no..."
Lauren dropped to her knees burying her face into her hands. The sobs violently wracking her body meant nothing to the succubus. She heard his body fall to the ground with a hard thump and began choking on the sobs in her throat. Damien was dead, her second shadow lied sprawled out on the floor, a man assigned to keep her safe dead by Bo's hands. "Don't cry, Lauren." Her voice was there suddenly softly cooing in her ear, instincts were to sink into the warmth, melt into her body, "His services are no longer needed. I'm here now," an arm wrapped around her heaving shoulders, urging the doctor to cry against a strong body, Lauren pathetically gave into the need to sob against her. "For you and our baby." She kissed the blonde hair on her temple softly. "I'm here now to both fuck and protect you-" A sudden slap to the face brought a huge smile to the demon's face.
"I hate you!" Lauren attempted to strike her again but Bo easily clasped both her wrists.
"No you don't," A soft glow ran underneath the succubus' skin entering Lauren's, the human sighed at the sudden intrusion, eyes marveling at the beautiful woman holding her hands. "You love me, Lauren." She reminded with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "You are still wearing my ring, darling." Bo turned her eyes to admire the beautiful stone on the hand she held gently, bringing it up to her lips; she kissed the ring softly staring into the brown eyes yearning for more. Releasing the woman sitting in a trance in her arms, internally promising to give the doctor more later, Bo stood up from her kneeling position eying the remaining soldiers in the room. "Killing that first pathetic soldier was fun." Her eyes found the smirking mesmer. "What do you think?"
"The bloodier the better and the more the merrier." He cheered forcing the two soldiers to face each other with their weapons. "Whose head goes first, my dear? Or shall we blow off their manly hoods first?" Lowering his hands, their weapons followed pointing at their crotches.
"Please don't do this!" The first one cried out feeling their death mingle with the mania in the air. Lauren instantly snapped out of her daze feeling the lust for Bo quickly replaced with terror at seeing the new game the succubus encouraged Vex to play.
"Bo, stop this, please stop this..." Her former fiance refused to glance her way, the human felt helpless on the verge of watching the succubus unnecessarily take more lives. Outside in front of Light Laboratories, Kenzi's despair was an act to draw close enough to dig into the pockets of her jacket where she retrieved the keys to her restraints and a vile of her powerful blood. Bo and Vex were thriving off each other's power, feeling invincible and capable of anything. "Bo please stop," She tried again knowing it was useless, they were too caught up in the need for death, the thrill of slaughter overpowering any degree of empathy. I'm so sorry Damien, his body lied face down on the floor across the room with two more destined to follow. I'm so sorry...
"We don't deserve this you evil bitch! We were ordered here to protect you!" The second one added with eyes seething hate targeted at the succubus. "You're no better than Aife, we should have killed you in the woods, you're disgusting, fucking disgusting!"
"We have to get out of here." Taliesin's voice broke through her deep trance. Kenzi looked at him beginning to shake her head no. 'Europe... Bo...' She began muttering shifting uneasily from one foot to another. "Look at her, Kenzi. Really look at her," Both guns fired at each other at the same time, instantaneously killing both men, their blood spraying the surrounding walls; Bo and Lauren were also covered, Lauren's face as white as a ghost as she gasped wildly crying too hard to properly scream. Bo stood healthier and more beautiful than ever standing with the biggest smile she'd ever seen the succubus wear. "Come on!" Allowing Taliesin to drag her out of the room, they ran pushing their legs as fast as possible. 'Everyone get out of here, get out of here now!' Kenzi heard Taliesin scream wildly running blindly from her tears, she allowed the young wizard to drag her out the doors of Light Laboratories and into Trick's vehicle. Bo... Oh my god... what... what have I done?
"I have to call Trick- I have to call them- they- they have to know about- about all of this now." His hands shook too wildly for them to properly dial the number. "Fuck."
"Is everything okay?" The driver asked from the front alarmed at what he saw. The human seemed to be in shock, staring numbly at the young Wizard too panicked to sit still or speak coherently at first.
"Get us the hell out of here and get Sire Trick on the phone promptly." The driver did what he was told dialing the Dal's main number. Taliesin ran a hand through his long hair. "They can't know you're responsible for this." He whispered near Kenzi's ear. "It'll take them a little while to figure it out if they do. We'll be safe in New York and have time to plot our next move." Kenzi shook her head numbly. "I'll take care of this Kenzi," he kissed the side of her face. "I won't let them hurt you." She hugged him closing her eyes, wishing it was all just a bad dream.
"Bo broke out of her restraints and and took control over Vex and now they're on a murderous rampage killing the soldiers and staff inside of Light Laboratories." His voice quivered and broke from bad nerves as he continued as coherently as possible. "Bo killed Sargent Acis, oh god he's dead. The keeper's son is dead and and Lauren tried to stop her, but she wouldn't listen. Kenzi and I are on our way to the airport, we're going to New York until... until further notice."
Kenzi turned around to stare out the back windshield feeling her stomach twist painfully inside. The Keeper's son? She didn't know who the keeper was but they sounded like bad news, gasping for breath all of a sudden, a shock that kept her in tact was quickly slipping away. So many lives lost... Bo was inside killing them all.
"Are you coming with us?" Hale rushed to grab his jacket off the coat rack. With the office door open, Trick watched the soldiers rush down the hall to the main entrance of the Dal hanging up the dead phone in his hand. Bo was free with the help of Vex. "I've ordered all troops to Light Laboratories before Bo disappears again." He nodded his head limply, too focused on his thoughts to realize what he was agreeing to. Damien was dead, the Keeper's son killed by his granddaughter.
"Go ahead," he finally answered looking at Hale's worried face. "I'll catch up with you shortly."
"Don't worry, she won't get too far with our men moving in on Light Laboratories."
"I know." He forced an uncertain smile. "Be safe." Hale nodded quickly and then disappeared into the hallway. Bo's life was officially in forfeit with tears in his eyes he internally thanked her father. The evil devil responsible for his daughter's death succeeded in sealing his granddaughter's fate as well now. Everything on top of the desk jumped as he violently struck the ancient wood with a balled fist. Trick promised to protect Bo from his corruption. As an infant, he hid her in a small beautiful country town with a nice human family- It worked for a little while, until the succubus came alive inside of her.
Opening the largest cabinet of the desk, he grabbed a thick leather book. Spending the last twenty five years fulfilling his promise to Bo, a visit from her biologically corrupt father wasn't going to throw all efforts away. The succubus didn't murder on whim, wasn't evil- She was caring, engaged, and meant to be married to the woman she loved more than life itself. Bo was very loving and protective over her family, she dedicated her life to helping both Fae and humans solve dangerous mysteries, putting her own life in danger to help them find loved ones or retrieve something dear to them from criminals – Bo didn't deserve the path paved by the selfish devil.
Her heart was too pure to deserve his corruption.
Trick vowed to restore her rightful path.
He wasn't going to win with his granddaughter.
Flipping through the aged pages of a book radiating power, a book of fate, he stopped on a blank page. He opened the top drawer of his desk removing an ink well and a tool resembling an ancient ink pen. With the sharpened edge of the tool, he sliced open his wrist allowing the blood to drip into the ink well. With his other arm, he dipped the tool into the jar of his blood and began writing into the book, each word radiating in a special glow destined to change fate.
