It has been much to long! I am very sorry to those seven (I think...) of you who are following. Here it is as promised, though I seemed to dig myself a deeper hole now it requires another chapter. I assure you that I shall do that at some point.

When he finally sat up and gave the Canadian a chance to breathe he had a chance to examine his savior. Last night his memory was a bit hazy, though the new wound stretching across the right side of his face was just as pronounced. Shaking off the memory of the terrible canine from the previous night he noticed how red the other's face still was, and after a quick examination…

"I knew that I'd seen you somewhere! That new pizza parlor a few minutes away right? I was there with a few of my friends a few days ago."

"O-Of course I remember you guys! You were quite loud and my manager was telling me to go talk to you…" He trailed off, remembering how startled he had been the first time he saw the albino sitting uncomfortably close to him. Never before had he seen someone with such enchanted eyes that seemed to pierce through everything in their path.

As the thought he realized too late that his eyes were trained on the other man, who sported a knowing smirk.

"You're gauging how awesome I am, yes? It's normal, don't worry about it." He waved one of his hands carelessly. "I get it all the time, both as a cat and a normal guy. You seriously wouldn't believe how many people have asked me who I was cosplaying just walking down the street." Gilbert looked sad for a moment, but it was quickly covered up with an egotistic smile that Matthew was already beginning to recognize and expect.

Awkwardly he glanced away, sure he wasn't supposed to see that fleeting second of emotion.

"So how did you end up on the street last night?" Really he wanted to ask how in the name of maple he had somehow managed to turn himself into a cat.

"Oh, I was being chased by a rabid dog that was attracted by my awesomeness. As for being a cat in the first place, it happens almost every night," he said as if it were obvious. "So I can't get into my apartment and I have to sleep outside. Whenever I go somewhere with my friends late at night I fail to change, therefor they think that I'm crazy whenever I tell them." As he spoke he tilted his head to the side, examining the Canadian better. "I don't have any family here; my little brother is in Germany serving in the army right now. I feel like I could help you out with your family using my awesomeness though."

Confused Matthew wondered why the albino was suddenly bringing up family.

"What do you mean?"

"Your unawesome brother and his mangy feline of course! If I change tomorrow night you can take me to talk with his kitty and rub it in his face that you have an awesome cat." The had slid a bit more, revealing the edge of one of his ears. Gasping Matthew leaned in to convince himself that he wasn't hallucinating the snowy white ears on top of the albino's head.

Confused by the Canadian's sudden interest in his hair he remembered that he still had a pair of cat ears as well as his normal ones.

"This doesn't normally happen; I don't have these ears all the time I swear." The white appendages flattened against his head unconsciously.

Blushing slightly the blonde backed up.

"S-Sorry, can I please look at them?" The Canadian pleaded, extremely interested in Gilbert's ears for no reason other than they were out of the ordinary. Confused by Matthew's sudden curiosity his ears slowly straightened up and angled toward the blonde, twitching slightly from all of the sounds that he wasn't used to hearing.

"Sure, my awesomeness cannot be outshone. Of course you would want to see some of my unique traits," he practically purred. Actually he was surprised that the Canadian hadn't tried to get away from him yet, from both his usual out of the ordinary appearance and his new-found ears. In fact he hadn't figured that out yet. Why were they still present when he was human?

Suddenly he was pulled out of his thoughts when Matthew's breath hit one of his ears. It flicked on instinct, completely astounding him. When he was a feline he expected things like that to happen, but as a human it was a completely different thing.

Curiosity sated for the moment Matthew leaned back.

"T-That's kind of cool," he murmured in that quiet way of his. "Do you want breakfast? I can make some pancakes…" He wasn't really sure what to expect.

"That would be awesome!" The albino stood up and opened the Canadian's closet and pulled out a gray coat. "I'm borrowing this so I can go to my apartment and get my bird." His tone left room for no arguments, and it took him a second to register what his guest had said.

"W-Wait! I'll give you a ride in my car." The blonde grabbed one of his many sweatshirts and pulled it over his head. "It'll take a lot less time and be warmer this way." He opened his door, standing aside and allowing Gilbert to step out first before locking and closing it. Humming to himself out of habit he walked down the stairs and into the parking lot, almost forgetting that Gilbert was trailing close behind him. Just when he was about to open the door on the driver's side a hand pinned him to the side of the car.

"Wait, I should drive because I know where I live." The Prussian reached into his pocket and pulled out the keys. "I'll fight you for them." Blushing from the contact he pulled away and slid away from Gilbert's hand.

"F-Fine you can drive," muttered trying not to show how shaken up he was.

Without pausing he opened the door and slipped behind the wheel. The car smelled faintly of maple syrup, as well as blood. Wincing he looked at the tiny brownish stain on the floor. It had to be his from last night. Grumbling to himself he pulled the hat further down on his head and shoved the key into the ignition.

Paying special attention to the way the Canadian was gripping the sides of his seat he smirked and pulled out of the parking space in an annoyingly safe manner. The entire way to his apartment he drove slowly, partly because of the snow and partly because he felt that he needed to prove to Matthew that he didn't mess around on roads. It was just a clearing up the fact that he had been found dying on a street the night before…

When he finally pulled into an empty space he turned to the blonde.

"Stay here, I just need to get some things. You don't mind if I move in with you right?" He questioned as he was getting out of the car, not really asking at all. He assumed that Matthew would say yes and his prediction was confirmed when the Canadian muttered an affirmative answer.
