This following chapter was based on a true story that happened to my cousin. It's the scariest thing seeing someone slowly go insane..
Kryhs got up quite early the next morning, looking quite refreshed. There was a note on the fridge that said that Toby and Mamabuscus had a family emergency in the hospital and that they would be back as soon as possible. Kryhs wasn't going to stay inside her house alone, no way. Everything on TV was nonsense. The noise from the TV scared her, the silence when she turned the TV off ftreaked her out. Every drip of the tap, every whir of the coffee machine sent her on edge. When she turned the heating on, everything felt too close. When she turned the heating off, everything was too cold. She walked up and down the flat waiting for them to return but hearing her own footsteps made her way too paranoid. She sat still but then all the noises disturbed her. She tried eating something but the noise of her chewing scared her. She had a coffee but the noise of her stirring her spoon against the mug made her jump. Finally, the doorbell rang. Kryhs went to answer it but there was no one there. She began to think that she was slowly loosing it. She shut the door and swallowed, leaning against it. Kryhs went to the kitchen window and peered out of it, and in the space of a few seconds was suddenly face to face with her ex boyfriend, grinning at her through the window. Kryhs screamed. "KRYHS! Kryhs what's wrong?" Toby yelped, rushing into the kitchen where Kryhs stood screeching at the window above the sink. Kryhs turned around, shaking, to see Toby making his way toward her and keeping her in a hug.
"When did you g-g-get back?" Kryhs cried into his top.
"Get back? Kryhs we didn't leave, we've been here all morning," Toby blinked, beginning to get a little worried for his girlfriend.
"What? You left a note saying you were at the hospital, I read it," Kryhs mumbled, seeing spots in her vision.
"Kryhs, stop it, you're scaring me. All you've done today is get up, sit down, make coffee, try and eat, pace around the flat, turn the TV off, turn the TV on, turn on and off the heating…all me and my mom can do is watch you," Toby explained to her slowly.
"I didn't think anyone else was in the flat," Kryhs gasped, running a shaking hand through her thick curly brown hair. "I didn't see you…Toby I don't feel well…"
"I can tell…it's okay, babe, lie down on the couch and I'll get my mom to make you her 'Feel better meal'," Toby said, putting on a brave face for Kryhs' sake but actually feeling terrified for her sanity.
"Okay, fine," Kryhs agreed, giving a small smile and walking over to the couch. She wasn't walking in a straight line, though, she was all over the place. Toby sighed heavily and pulled out his iPhone 5, scrolling through his contacts until he found his doctor's number.
"Toby?" Dr Westwood answered the phone.
"Dr Westwood? I need you're help on something please," Toby sniffed, rubbing the back of his neck stressfully.
"Yeah, go on son," Dr Westwood encouraged.
"It's not about me, it's about my girlfriend," Toby muttered. "Her ex-boyfriend is in the country, and he saw her last week, since she saw him she's been absolutely petrified. She's pacing up and down, turning the heaters off and on, getting scared of miniature sounds like her spoon clinking against her mug when she's trying to make coffee. She woke up this morning and saw no one else in the flat even though my mom and I have been here all morning. She's not walking in straight lines and she's hearing and seeing things. I'm extremely scared for her," Toby sighed, rubbing his eyes.
"Have you spoken to her about it?" Dr Westwood asked casually, which calmed Toby down a lot.
"Yeah, I've tried, she doesn't like to talk about it much," Toby sniffed.
"Okay, and has she seen this ex boyfriend since?" Dr Westwood continued.
"No, I don't think so," Toby frowned.
"Well I suggest you call the police force now, just let them know about the situation and go from there in terms of the situation. In the terms of Kryhs' situation, she clearly has a strong case of paranoia. It's fine, she'll be okay. Bring her in next week if this continues but now, all you can do is keep talking to her, keep her busy, do not leave her by herself or this whole situation could get very serious and very dangerous very quickly. I'll check up on you this evening, how's that?"
"Thanks so much doc," Toby breathed out. Dr Westwood always knew how to make even the scariest things sound so casual that it calmed Toby right down and completely settled his nerves.
"No problem boyo. See you soon, good luck," Dr Westwood told him comfortingly before hanging up. Toby went over to where Kryhs was lying down on the sofa, Mamabuscus cooking her famous meal in the kitchen.
"How are you feeling beautiful?" Toby asked Kryhs, kneeling down and facing her.
"Scared," Kryhs mumbled, nibbling her plump bottom lip. Toby stroked her loose strands of long curly hair behind her ear and kissing the tip of her nose.
"I know princess, but everything will be okay," Toby murmured against her lips before kissing her softly.
So if you guys were confused a little by the last chapter, Kryhs saw Danny in the hallway leading into the toilets, not the actual girls toilets. And this chapter was based on a true story that happened to my cousin. It's the scariest experience seeing someone slowly going insane. So if you know someone being affected like this please tell someone or at least try and get them help. ):
