Chapter 15- Scared

Tucking my hands under my legs I sat slightly uncomfortably in the long limousine. The car was long and short, and if I was as tall as some of the host I would be slouching. Luckily for me I was barely over 4'4". The seats were soft and very comfortable, and they made the whole ride feel way more upper class then I was used to. When we arrived at the restaurant called Maisonnette the host club prince explained to everyone it meant 'small room' in French. "How did you know that?" I asked like the little kid I was, so curious about everyone.

"I was born in France!" He stated proudly. At that moment I realized none of the hosts were in their uniforms. They were all wearing dress pants, even Haruhi. I admittedly assumed they tried to force her into a dress, but she declined bluntly. We walked in, but all I could think about was how out of place I was. Inside the building it was huge! The seemly endless amounts of tables were covered with white tablecloths and candles. The waiters were all in tuxedos and the waitresses wore gowns. My jeans and baggy light green tee-shirt sure looked out of place now. The room went around an infinite amount of space, which made me seriously question way it was named the word for small room. I looked around nervously and made eye contact with Haruhi who seemed to have the same look of uneasiness. Kyoya asked for our reservation and the waitress began to lead the group towards our table. Looking up at Haruhi I announced, "This is overwhelming..." She nodded and we both sighed. Once I sat down Hikaru and Kaoru quickly said my name excitedly, "Age-"

"-ha!" My head turned at them two seats away from me at the big round table. I was seated between Haruhi and Honey.

"We have a-"

"-present for you!" They announced and pulled out a pink box. It was wrapped in a sparkly sliver ribbon. They slid it over to me. After unwrapping it, inside there was a light pink, flurry, and originally designed dress. The design was clearly not my style, but when Hikaru said, "We made it ourselves-"

Then Kaoru told me, "It was a little last minute-"

"-but we tried." They laughed a little and reached over to poke me, "it's a good thing you're tiny." I giggled. I did not like the dress to be blunt. It seemed uncomfortable and way too girly for my preferences. The fact still was as I looked around the huge restaurant I was out of place. Jeans were not the right attire for this kind of high class place. Nodding I stated, "I'll go change." The rest of the meal went assumably well, besides maybe having no clue what I was eating. My brothers paid for the meal and the others started to leave. Tamaki spent over fifteen minutes trying to convince Haruhi to let him drive her home. Just as she finally gave in her father came. He was funny. He just kept yelling at Boss and Tamaki flailed like an idiot. I could not stop laughing. The drivers of Honey, Mori and Kyoya picked them up. I was left outside the restaurant on a sliver painted bench with my two older brothers. We exchanged glances for a while. Then finally Kaoru on my left started to speak, "... You... Um..." My eyes locked on his slightly blushing face. "...wanted us to..." He could not find an end to his question and neither could Hikaru. I did not know what to say. The cold air of the December night blew through the ruffles of my new dress. My legs swung in the space of air between the bench and the ground. Hikaru's eyes popped open as he knew what to say.

"…tell you why-"

"-it has been-"

"-so long?" I slammed my feet on the ground hard and seized their motion. My head nodded slightly but my eye contact was off of them. "How do we explain...?" They said together. Staring at each other they passed sighs back and forth over my head. Hikaru shrugged his shoulders and Kaoru matched back. "...ha..." They moaned, "In short," Kaoru led.

"We were..."

"SCARED!" A weight lifted off their shoulders, but I still did not understand.

Kaoru's POV

How do you tell some sister you just learned you had you left her? If Hikaru knew that would be helpful, but I know he's just as lost as I am. Our lives have been a whirlwind lately. Learning we have a little sibling to dealing with all the situations she has to live through, because of us. She is biologically our little sister, though I barely remember her. The farthest back I remember of Ageha is some little girl who was always in our giant house. She was no more than a person there to us. Family members, maids, chefs, butlers and workers they went in and out of that house. Hikaru and I lived -or should I say live- in our own world. I never noticed her or much of anyone else for that matter. We surely did not notice her as our little sister!

We left her, again. A great big brother or even a decent one would fix his mistake the first time. So she is in an orphanage I -we- should have told our mother and father. But at last we were scared. To unlock that lock on our hearts would open up the gates of change. Maybe we have already unlocked it, but we could not let someone into our hearts. At least they could not enter easily. Starring down at the newly 8 year old child I was at a loss for words. Hikaru and I continued making eye contact back and forth. We managed to let out that we were scared moments before, but it was so much more than that. It was more than being scared of decision we would make. It was more than being scared we would fail her. We were afraid of ourselves. What would we do if our parents didn't want her back? Could we let her stay at an orphanage the rest of her life? These questions ran throughout our heads. And our sick little answer was to avoid the problem for as long as we could.

Hikaru's POV

How do you tell someone you ditched them? Because if you knew that would really help me right now! Here she was Ageha Hitachiin. She just turned 8 years old; she has our auburn hair color, green eyes, and the cutest little face ever. I did not want to hurt her, but that's all I can do, Hurt people! I looked to Hikaru for an answer, but we were both confused. I placed my hand on Ageha's little shoulder and she turned her eyes at me. Her huge green eyes starred into mine. "Scared?" She asked us sweetly, "About what?" My heart sank deep into my stomach. Hurting her more than we have already would be way too much for her little soul to endure. She already had to go through the pain of not having parents, and we were leaving her the same way. We both did not want to leave her, but it was so hard. Too hard! Now I have another question: how do you answer that?

"Yeah..." My identical brother responded and left me to carry on.

"-we did not know-"

"-how to." He stopped, "We tried-" he tried again and I tilted my head at him and then realized what he was attempting to explain.

"-to tell them-" he nodded.

"-mother and father." Her eyes popped open and she started down at the ground not taking even the slightest glance up.

Hey! So I actually updated really fast and at the time I said I would. Plus this is a longer chapter finally. Let me know what you guys think. Any suggestions would be appreciated, because as for the backstory I am kinda at a lost. Any ideas or critiques would be great. Thanks for reading and review!
