"Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal: The Shining Adventure"
Chapter 18 – The Battle of Ancient Beasts and the Silver Rainbow:
Well, I don't really know what to say here. So, here, take this clown- OH MY GOD, A GORILLA! AHHHH- hope you enjoy, but excuse me for this chapter being very very rushed –AHHHHH!
Gold and the others decided to spend the night in the Poké Center, so they could all rest. They all opened their Poké Balls, letting out their Pokémons in order to let them all know each other, including Gligar, who was warmly accepted, and became good friends with Togetic and Hitmonlee mainly. Silver's Pokémons still looked shady and distant, but it wasn't their fault.
The next day, the four of them left the Poké Center and moved to the Gym, in order for Gold to battle the final Gym Leader and for Silver to steal the last badge he needed.
They entered the Gym, finding a woman with light blue symmetrical ponytail, blue eyes, wearing a dark cloak, a skin tight blue sleeveless shot-legged suit, and gloves and boots of the same color. She also wore a necklace with a crystal orb.
"Hello there." Gold spoke, walking casually. Apparently, he acts just a little bit differently around women. "My name is old, and I am here to win the badge."
"I am Clair, this city's Gym Leader and the world's best Dragon-type master." Her introduction made Gold, Crystal and Ruby sweatdrop. She seemed pretty confident of her tittle. Ruby then finally noticed that Silver had disappeared.
"The best Dragon-type master?" Crystal asked, confirming the tittle.
"I can hold my own against even the Pokémon League's Elite Four. Do you still want to take me on?" she asked, arms folded confident serious look.
"Of course!" Gold seemed eager. Though, Ruby sweatdropped as Silver returned.
"Fine. Let's do this! As a Gym Leader, I will use my full power against any opponent!" Clair declared. She walked to her position on the battlefield, revealing that it was a mix of a plain battlefield and a pool, 50/50, cut in half. Her half of the field was the pool part, while Gold remained on the dry land area. Crystal, Silver and Ruby sat down on the bench.
"Why is half of the field water?" gold wondered.
"Two of my Pokémons need water in order to battle. Before, only one needed though, until I returned it to my cousin."
"Your cousin?"
"My cousin is Lance, the current Champion. He returned my Gyarados about a year ago."
"Wait, wait, wait! You are Lance's cousin?"
"Yes. Why is that surprising?"
"You said you were the best Dragon-type master, but Lance is the Champion and he is a Dragon-type specialist." Gold grinned, trying to mock Clair a bit. "Doesn't that mean that Lance is stronger than you?"
"Sh-Shut up!" Clair shouted, blushing in embarrassment, making the ones at the bench sweatdrop.
"She seemed much more adult before that." Crystal admitted.
"How old is she, anyway?"
"17, if I'm not mistaken." Silver replied, taking a wild but correct guess.
"If you mock me any more I'll cancel the match."
"It's ok, it's ok." Gold spoke, not wanting to risk again. Clair recovered her serious look and composed herself.
"This is a six-on-three battle, me being the one using three Pokémons. It's so you can have a certain advantage. Gyarados, come forth!" Clair demanded, throwing the Poké Ball, letting out her Gyarados. The Gyarados glared at Gold, but then noticed something familiar about his presence... Like if he had battled someone similar some time ago. Probably during the time he was with Lance.
"Alright, Electabuzz, let's do some damage!"
"Eracaru!" The Pokémon shouted, coming out of the Poké Ball.
"Gyarados, Twister!" Gyarados waved his tail, creating a rather large tornado.
"Electabuzz, Thunder!"
"Ere!" Electabuzz released a blast made of yellow electricity out of his body, spinning around the inside of the twister, electrocuting Gyarados.
"Dragon Rage!"
"GYAAAAAA!" Gyarados roared, and released a rather large crimson fireball from his mouth, which hit Electabuzz easily, leaving impressive damage.
"Ere..."
"Electabuzz, Thunder Punch!"
"Twister!"
Electabuzz dashed towards Gyarados, but he flapped his tail-fin again, creating yet another twister, but this time blowing Electabuzz up towards the ceiling.
"No!"
"Hyper Beam!"
Gyarados took a deep breath and released an orange beam from his mouth, hitting Electabuzz right on the spot. Electabuzz then fell, unconscious, to the floor.
"Return." Gold spoke, withdrawing Electabuzz. "Gligar, it's your turn!"
"Gli!" Gligar came out of the Poké Ball, ready to battle the atrocious Pokémon.
"Sky Uppercut!" Gold commanded. Gligar closed his right claw and pulled it back. The claw began to glow light blue and he slid, gliding, in an uppercut fashion, trying to hit Gyarados's jaw.
"Dodge!" Clair spoke. Gyarados leaned back, safely dodging the uppercut, which left behind an energy trail.
"Now, Aerial Ace!"
Gligar flew up in a loop-like fashion. His body became a blur, and he glided at amazing speed down towards Gyarados, slamming his head and claws against the pseudo dragon's body, damaging him vastly.
"Gya!" He roared in pain.
"Gligar, return!"
"Uh?" Clair was confused as to why Gold would withdraw his Pokemon now.
"Aipom, just a little bit more!"
"Eipa!"
"Gyarados, Dragon Rage!"
"RAAAAA!" Gyarados roared and then released a dark and blue flame from his mouth in the shape of a dragon, which flew towards Aipom.
"Destroy it with Iron Tail!" Aipom jumped and his tail flashed white, turning into iron. Then, he struck the flame with it, easily vanquishing it, astonishing Clair and Gyarados. "Now, defeat Gyarados with Strength!"
"Ei-PA!" Aipom jumped and landed on Gyarados's head. He then grabbed Gyarados's forehead crest and became outlined in grey, releasing some sort of steam. Then, he pulled Gyarados and spun, slamming Gyarados against the half of battlefield without water, making him faint.
"Gyarados, return." Clair withdrew her Pokemon, but was ready to continue. "Kingdra, defeat him!"
"King!" Kingdra landed in the water, glaring at Aipom.
"Aipom, return. Go, Hitmonlee!"
"Hitmon!" Hitmonlee came out of his Poké Ball and was in a battle stance, signing that he was ready for the battle.
"Kingdra, Bubblebeam!"
"Dra!" Kingdra took a deep breath and released multi colored bubbles from her mouth towards Hitmonlee.
"Mega Kick!"
"Lee!" Hitmonlee's right foot became surrounded in red energy and he kicked up, destroying the stream of bubbles.
"Kingdra, Dragon Breath!"
"King!" Kingdra released a spiraling stream of clear air from her mouth at Hitmonlee, hitting him and making him step back.
"Hitmonlee, Jump Kick!"
"Hit-?!" Hitmonlee was about to jump, but suddenly, blue sparks surrounded his body, making him flinch.
"What the-?!"
"Dragon Breath is an attack that may paralyze the opponent." Clair informed, making Gold think of a whole new strategy.
"Hitmonlee, return! Aipom, let's do this!"
"Eipa!" Aipom came out of his Poké Ball, replacing Hitmonlee in the battle.
"Swift!"
"Bubblebeam!"
Aipom's tail began to glow brightly, and he swung it, releasing multiple star shaped projectiles towards Kingdra. Kingdra, on the other hand, released multiple orange orbs out of her mouth, all colliding with the stars that Aipom fired.
"Focus Punch!"
Aipom dashed towards the pool, with his tail hand clenched into a fist, surrounded in a blue aura.
"Hydro Pump, Kingdra!"
"Kin!" Kingdra fired a water jet out of her mouth, hitting Aipom straight on and washing him away.
"Ei!" Aipom stood up with a popping vein, mad at Kingdra.
"Now! It's your chance for a Hyper Beam!"
"DRA!" Kingdra released an orange beam from her mouth towards Aipom, leaving behind a trail of steam and destruction of the solid part area of the battlefield.
"Protect!"
"Ei!" Aipom grinned and a green barrier surrounded his body, safely protecting him from the beam.
"Oh no." Clair said to herself, knowing Kingdra was open for an attack.
"Attract, let's go!"
"Pa!" Aipom winked at Kingdra and opened his arms, releasing pink hearts that surrounded Kingdra. Kingdra then fell in love with Aipom, making a red blush appear on her face.
"Kingdra, return."
"Ei?" Aipom and Gold were both surprised, seeing the Gym Leader withdrawing her Pokemon.
"Dragonair, bring me victory!" Clair sent in her third Pokemon, and it looked majestic.
"Drago!"
"Use Aqua Tail!"
"Nair!" Dragonair took her tail out of the water and the orbs at its end began to glow light blue. Then, a spiral of water came out of the tail, enveloping it, and she whipped Aipom, pushing him away.
"Iron Tail, Aniki!"
"Eipa!" Aipom's tail flashed white and turned into iron, and he dashed towards his opponent.
"Iron Tail!" Clair commanded Dragonair to use the same attack as Aipom. Dragonair's tail orbs flashed white as well and turned into iron. They clashed tails, but due to her weight and size, Dragonair was victorious in the small power match.
"Pa!" Aipom was thrown against the floor of the battlefield again.
"Dragonair, finish him with Dragon Tail!"
"Drago!" Dragonair's tail began to glow light blue and she whipped it against Aipom with amazing strength, knocking him out.
"EIPA!"
"Aniki!" Gold caught him unconscious in his eyes. He took out the Poké Ball belonging to Aipom and withdrew him. "You did a great job. Go, Hitmonlee!"
"Hit!" Hitmonlee came out of his Poke Ball, looking confident. But the blue sparks reappeared, showing he was still paralyzed.
"Dragonair, Dragon Rage!"
"Hi Jump Kick!"
"Hit-?!" Hitmonlee jumped, bending his knee, but right before he could jump, the paralysis kicked in and made him fall over, knee first, hurting him. Dragonair released a dark blue flame in the shape of a dragon and it hit Hitmonlee, exploding on contact, making him faint.
"Hitmonlee, return. Go, Mantine!"
"Man!" Mantine came out of her Poké Ball, and was ready to battle.
"Ice Beam!"
"Thunder!"
Mantine formed a light blue orb in front of her mouth and released multiple beams from it, while Dragonair's horn began to glow yellow and released a blast of yellow electricity from it. The attacks collided and it created an amazing explosion, obligating everyone cover their faces with their arms due to the shockwave. Dragonair and Mantine both fainted after showing their damaged state.
"Return." Both Trainers withdrew their Pokémons. Gold was down to two Pokémons, one of them being Gligar, while Clair only had Kingdra remaining.
"Gligar, let's go!"
"Kingdra, bring me victory!"
Both Pokémons entered the battlefield, ready for battling. Both glared at one another. Gold wanted to finish the battle as quickly as possible, so he made a risky move.
"Gligar, Guillotine!"
"Gar!" Gligar flew towards Kingdra, straightforward. He pulled back his right claw, which began to glow metallic glow.
"Kingdra, Dragon Pulse!" Kingdra formed a swirling ball of orange flames inside of her mouth. She then fired a beam of orange flames from her mouth at Gligar, stopping his attack and shoving him away. "Hydro Pump!"
"Dra!" Kingdra blasted a powerful spiraling jet of water from her mouth at Gligar, knocking him out due to his weakness to water.
"Gligar-Aniki! Grrr… Return. Go, Typhlosion!" Gold sent in his final Pokémon, Typhlosion, who roared and glared at Kingdra.
"Dragon Pulse!"
"Eruption!"
Kingdra formed a swirling ball of orange flames inside of her mouth. She then fired a beam of orange flames from her mouth at Typhlosion, while Typhlosion got on all fours and pointed his neck towards Kingdra and his flames ignited, the one on his neck releasing a geyser of orange fire. The attacks collided, creating a dark cloud of smoke.
"Typhlosion, Aerial Ace!"
Typhlosion dashed into the cloud of dark smoke, looking like a blur.
"Kingdra, Hydro Pump!"
Kingdra blasted a power spiraling jet of water out of her mouth into the cloud of smoke, trying to hit Typhlosion, but when the cloud faded, it looked like Typhlosion had disappeared, confusing Kingdra. She looked up and saw Typhlosion in midair, with a grin.
"Typhlosion, Flame Wheel! Into the water!"
Tyohlosion curled up and his flames extended, covering his body, and he soared down against Kingdra, and slamming against her, evaporating the surrounding water, astonishing Clair.
"I'll win, it's already decided!" Clair spoke with determination. "Kingdra, use-?!" Clair then noticed that since the pool was now epty, meaning that Kingdra was no longer able to move and aim!
"I'm sorry, but this is my victory! Typhlosion, Submission!"
Typhlosion grabbed Kingdra's body and jumped up into the air, spinning like a wheel and then slamming her against the ground again.
"Mega Punch!"
"Typhlo!" Typhlosion fell towards Kingdra and his fist became surrounded by yellow-orange fiery energy, and he punched Kingdra, making her faint.
Gold and Typhlosion high fived, the other three friends cheered, but that something unexpected happened.
"Eh? Say that again, please." Gold requested, looking dumbfounded. Not only him, but Crystal, Gold, Ruby, and even Typhlosion looked like that.
"I will not give you the Badge."
"EHHHHH?!"
"I won't admit this. I may have lost, but you're still not ready for the Pokémon League." Clair informed. "You should take the dragon user challenge. Behind this Gym is a place called Dragon's Den. There is a small shrine at its center. Go there. If you can prove that you've lost your lazy ideals, I will recognize you as a trainer worthy of a Gym Badge."
Gold and the others sighed. Gold withdrew Typhlosion and they, well, walked their way outside of the Gym and into the Dragon's Den, right after a short stop to the Poké Center, of course.
There, they found a lake, and Gold and Silver let out their Mantine and Feraligatr respectively.
"Ladies first." Said Gold, trying to be polite.
"Thank you." Crystal spoke, but, oddly enough, instead of going onto Feraligatr's back, she hopped onto Mantine's. The boys looked a bit confused. "So? What are you waiting for?"
"N-Nothing, nothing." Gold spoke, as he quickly hopped onto Mantinea swell. Silver and Ruby had to go on Feraligatr together.
And so, they surfed on the dark waters, searching for the so called shrine. Soon enough, they managed to find it. Gold hopped out of Mantine, but the others stayed behind. They knew this was something he would have to do alone, since he was the only one who challenged Clair. (Silver only stole the badge)
Gold entered the shrine, and was immediately greeted by the view of various monks, the one who was farthest from him being more distinct, mainly in the beard.
"Yo." Gold spoke, putting his pool cue behind his neck.
"Good to see you here." Gold was about to answer, but the elder monk stopped him. "No need to explain why you came. Clair sent you here, didn't she?"
"Yeah." Gold answered bluntly. The monk sighed as a response.
"That girl is a handful… I am sorry, but I must test you."
"I hope it isn't a hard one." Gold spoke truthfully, making the monk chuckle.
"Not to worry, you are to answer only a few questions. Ready?"
"You bet!"
"You seem pretty confident. Very well. What helps you to win battles?"
"Trust in the power of my Pokémons and in my strategy."
"What kind of Trainer do you wish to battle?"
"I guess I could battle anyone, even though I prefer the strong ones."
"What is most important for raising Pokémons?"
"Trust and Friendship."
"Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. Which is more important?"
"Both, I guess."
"Finally… What are Pokémons to you?"
"Pokémons? To me?" Gold asked, as he dropped his Poké Balls, letting out his 8 Pokémons: Typhlosion, Aipom, Togetic, Electabuzz, Sudowoodo, Mantine, Hitmonlee and Gligar. Everyone present at the room looked at Gold attentively. "Pokémons are my family."
The elder approached Gold. After being just inches away, he looked around Gold, analyzing the looks of happiness of his Pokémons. "In many years of testing Trainers, I have never received an answer like yours to this final question. You care deeply for Pokémons, even the ones you just met." Apparently, he could tell Gligar was new in Gold's team. "Your conviction is what is important! Don't lose that belief! I will see you through the Pokémon League."
Gold smiled and then withdrew his Pokémons, except for Aipom. "We'll battle in the Pokémon League, Aipom!"
"Eipa!"
"So, how did it go?" Clair asked, scaring Gold, Aipom and the monks.
"MY ARCEUS, WHEN DID YOU COME IN, CLAIR?" the monk asked.
"I guess there's no point in asking. You did fail, didn't you?" she had a sure and serious look on her face.
"Umm… I actually passed."
"Eh?" she opened her eyes, wide eyed. "You passed? THAT CAN'T BE!" she yelled, acting a bit childishly. Gold grinned, feeling pleasure in seeing that expression of hers. "You're lying! Even I haven't been approved!"
"Unlike you, this child is impeccable in skill and spirit." The monk smacked her head with some sort of basket, making her blush and steam in rage. "Admit defeat and confer the Rising Badge for once." He then made a friendly glare. "Or must I inform Lance of this?"
"I-I understand…" she approached Gold, looking away. "Here, this is the Rising Badge. Hurry up! Take it!"´
"Don't mind if I do!" Gold spoke, taking the badge into his hand.
"And…" Gold and Aipom turned to her. "Whatever you have to face from now, don't you dare give up!" she looked what Gold could call "adorable", blushing.
"So you do have a soft spot."
"It's not that, you moron! If you do, I'll feel even worse about having lost to you!" Clair explained. But her blush fainted and was replaced by a smile. "Give it your all. Ok?"
"You bet!" Gold spoke, but something unexpected happened: Crystal, Ruby, Silver, Eusine and Morty barged in! "Morty? Eusine? What's the matter?"
"Gold, we need your help!"
"Eh?" he and Clair looked confused.
"Team Rocket… is back!"
"What?! What do you mean, Team Rocket is back, Eusine?!"
"Well, the subject of the sentence is Team Rocket, and the action was coming back- HOW DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND IT?!"
"That's not what I meant!" Gold yelled back.
"Look," Ruby decided it would be better if he explained the situation. "According to Morty and Eusine, Archer and the other members of Team Rocket, the few that remain, have been attacking Ecruteak City, and have been spotted near the Whirl Islands."
"Crystal, you and I go to Ecruteak City with Morty. Silver, you, Ruby and Eusine check out the Whirl Islands!"
And so they went. Clair stayed behind, still trying to comprehend the situation.
Gold, Crystal and Morty flew back to Ecruteak City, thanks to Togetic and Xatu, while Silver and the others used Murkrow and Doduo. Don't ask me how Doduos fly, though.
At Ecruteak City:
Gold and Crystal dashed towards the Brass Tower, which was where Morty told Team Rocket was attacking. Morty had to stay behind, so he could protect the citizens in case something went wrong.
Gold and Crystal climbed to the top of the 10-storey high Tower, and found the 5 Kimono Girls, Zuki, Naoko, Miki, Sayo and Kumi, defeated, with their respective Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon defeated.
Ariana and Proton were to blame. Their Octillery, Golbat and Weezing were glaring at the Trainers that had just arrived. "Well, well, well, if it isn't little Gold and little Crystal." Ariana noticed, making the teens growl.
"Are you Girls okay?" Gold asked, worried about the Kimono Girls.
"Oh, they are ok. At least compared to what will happen to the rest of Johto." Proton declared, confusing the Teens and the Kimono Girls. He seemed to be messing around with a computer. "Everything is ready."
"Very well." Ariana and Proton jumped off the building, astonishing the Trainers. Gold and Crystal approached the edge, trying to see what Ariana and Proton had done, but right before they reached the edge, a gigantic bird passed right in front of them. It was majestic and beautiful, but its eyes were red.
"Th-that is…" Kumi spoke, making Gold and Crystal turn to her. She looked somewhat scared, just like all the Kimono Girls. "That is Ho-Oh!"
Meanwhile, at the Whirl Islands:
"I'm telling you, we're lost!" Ruby informed Eusine.
"No we aren't! Now, shut up and just follow me." Eusine indicated.
"Shh!" Silver demanded, making the other to hush. He approached the sound of the nearby waterfall, but he didn't expect to find Petrel and Archer there. "What are you doing here?!"
"Us? We just came to fetch a certain Pokémon." Archer informed, as Petrel finished working with the laptop, and then a huge Pokémon came out of the waterfall, making Eusine back off.
"Th-That is… Lugia?!"
Pokémons of the Day:
Kingdra - The yawn of a sleeping Kingdra is powerful enough to create undercurrents capable of destroying small ships. Should it decide to emerge from the depths of the ocean, Kingdra's strength can create large whirlpools and sea-born tornadoes on the surface. Because of its immense power, Kingdra often hibernates deep in uninhabited areas of the sea to rest and build up its energy. When a storm arrives, Kingdra is said to awaken and wander about in search of prey.
Lugia - Lugia leads the legendary birds. When they fight over territory, Lugia is the only Pokémon that can quell their ceaseless fighting. Much like the birds, it possesses the ability to control the weather; most notably, it can calm and give rise to storms. It is said that a light flutter of its wings is capable of causing winds powerful enough to tear down cliffs. If it were to flap its wings, it could hypothetically spawn storms lasting as long as 40 days. It is highly intelligent, and because of the devastating power it could accidentally inflict, it isolates itself deep underwater and tends to sleep in solitude. Lugia is the only known Pokémon that learns Aeroblast.
Ho-Oh - Ho-Oh has a mythical power to resurrect the dead. Ho-Oh is the only known Pokémon to learn Sacred Fire and can hold Sacred Ash. It is said that when it flies its huge wings create bright, colorful rainbows. The rare few who bear witness to Ho-Oh are promised an eternal happiness. Ho-Oh used to perch at the top of the Bell Tower (or Tin Tower) until the Brass Tower was destroyed by fire. It now presumably flies through the world's skies in search of a Trainer with a pure heart.
Well, I know this chapter was very rushed, especially at the end. But excuse me, I have a test tomorrow, so I guess it is justified. And no, I didn't just leave this part exactly the same, it just happened exactly the same. Well, see you next time. Oh, and please, don't forget to write a review if you don't mind, and also…
Bye, remember, BEAST OUT!
