"Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal: The Shining Adventure"
Chapter 20 – The Masquerade, Master of Psychic Pokémons:
The last chapter was very rushed as well ^^U Sorry once again. But now, I promise that I won't make it rushed, and I'll probably rewrite the previous chapters sometime soon. If I break my promise I apologize XP
Lugia and Ho-Oh returned to their original locations, and the Legendary Beasts fled once more. Gold thanked Ruby, since, without him, it would be impossible to defeat Team Rocket once and for all. Since they were all near New Bark Town, Gold made a rather interesting suggestion.
"Eh? Spending the night in your house?" Crystal, Silver and Ruby disbelieved Gold.
"Yeah. Maybe my mom can give you all a free tarot card reading."
"I don't know… wouldn't we be intruding?" Crystal asked, worried.
"Nah, she's cool." Gold added, pretty sure his mother would let them stay for a night.
They ended up agreeing and the little group went to New Bark Town. Gold knocked on his door and entered.
"I'm home." Gold spoke, warning his mother that he was back.
"Welcome back. Well, it took you pretty long to give up."
"I'm not giving up!" Gold yelled, which made his mom giggle. "I'm just spending the night here. IT was a long day. I saved Johto, you know?"
"How come you've forgotten that I watch the news, Gold? Of course I know you saved Johto."
"Wait, what?" Gold made a double take.
"You and your friends are on the news." She pointed at the TV. "Look." Gold was now glued to the TV. Silver, Ruby and Crystal for some reason did the same. "Come right in. Be my guests." Gold's mother spoke with a calm grin, making Crystal, Silver and Ruby sweatdrop.
"S-Sorry." Crystal apologized, embarrassed.
"Don't worry. I'm guessing Gold offered you three a place to stay, right?"
"That's right, ma'am." Ruby confirmed, feeling a bit awkward.
"Well, you can stay here until tomorrow. You're all lucky because my fridge is full of food. By the way, Gold, Professor Elm informed me that you chose Cyndaquil as your starter."
"Yes, why?" Gold asked, not knowing what his mother had in mind.
"Can I see him?"
"Sure. Typhlosion, come on out!"
"Typhlo!" Typhlosion barked, but his flames remained extinguished. He looked around, not knowing what place that was. He looked at Gold's mother and looked rather confused.
"Hello, Typhlosion. I'm your Trainer's mother. And I have a light favor to ask."
"Ty?"
"The gas is out, can I use your flames as a stove?"
"Ty?!"
Typhlosion ended up being the stove for the night. But he didn't mind. Gold showed his mouth his various Pokémons, which impressed her to say the least. She also began speaking to Crystal and Ruby, while Silver stayed on his own corner.
They spent the night silently, each one on its own mattress, bed or couch. But, for Gold's surprise, Silver was gone on the next morning. After saying goodbye to his mother, Gold left to the Victory Road, followed by Ruby and Crystal.
It was quick to reach the Indigo Plateau, and Gold entered the first hall, deducing that Silver were to be found at the end of the Pokémon League. Gold, of course, didn't want to be left behind.
He entered the first room, followed by Ruby and Crystal. It featured a room with a purple tiled floor. Floating, transparent cubes bobbed around the room, rising seemingly from a black pit. On the other side of a battlefield resided a man with purple weird, wearing formal clothes and a mask that covered his eyes.
"Welcome to the Pokémon League! Allow me to introduce myself. I am Will. I have trained all around the world, making my Psychic-type Pokémons powerful."
"A Psychic type specialist?" Crystal was surprised to hear that.
"I am Gold, the next Johto Champion!" Gold declared, ready for a battle.
"I see. I like the way you think. But it isn't that easy. After all, it hasn't been long since I've been accepted into the Elite Four. But that's not why we're here. We're here for a full 6 on 6 Battle. Are you ready?"
"You bet!" Gold was getting pumped up.
Will sent in his first Pokémon in order to start the battle.
"Girafarig, to the field!"
"Girafarig!" The Pokemon leaped out of the Poké Ball.
Crystal used her Pokédex, analyzing Girafarig:
"Girafarig, the Long Neck Pokémon. While it sleeps, the head of its tail keeps watch. The tail doesn't need to sleep. Its tail has a small brain of its own. Beware! If you get close, it may react to your scent by biting. It can instinctively fight even while facing backward."
"Alright then! Gligar, to the battle!"
"Gli!" Gligar flew out of his Fast Ball. He was excited. After all, he was chosen to battle against one of the Elite 4!
"Let the battle begin then! Girafarig, Double Hit!"
Girafarig's lower front legs began to glow light purple and she hit Gligar with them one at a time, pushing away Gligar.
"Gligar, are you ok?"
"Gar!" Gligar stood up and posed in a battle stance.
"Then let's start this with X-Scissor!"
"Gligar!" Gligar's claws began to glow light blue and he slashed Girafarig in an 'X' like fashion, pushing her away.
"Confusion." Will decided to use special attacks. Girafarig's eyes began to glow light blue and Gligar was raised up from the ground via psychic powers, and was damaged by the same.
"Gligar, get out of there by using Steel Wing!"
Gligar's wings flashed white and turned into metal, and he spread them, releasing him from such a strong psychic hold.
"Use Shadow Ball!"
"Gira!" Girafarig formed a ball of black and purple energy with black static around it. She then fired the ball at Gligar.
"Gligar, Knock Off!" Gligar's right claw became surrounded by dark sparks and he slammed his claw against the ball, making it explode. "Now, Guillotine!"
"Gligar!" Gligar flew up, out of the smoke caused by the cloud of smoke. Then, his right claw began to glow light blue and he flew down towards Girafarig, slamming his claw against her neck, automatically knocking her out.
"Gira…"
"Girafarig, no! Return." Will withdrew his Pokémon, but was ready to send the next one. "Exeggutor, come forth!"
"Exeggutor!"
"Egg Bomb!"
Exeggutor jumped and began to spin, his many hands glowing, and throwing multiple egg-shaped orbs up into the air. The orbs, when collided against the floor, exploded, many of them hitting Gligar.
"Gligar, destroy the eggs with Poison Sting!"
"Gli!" Gligar opened his mouth and released multiple purple energy needles art the flying eggs, making them explode.
"Exeggutor, Wood Hammer!"
"Gligar, use X-Scissor!"
Exeggutor ran towards Gligar, the leaves on the top of his body glowing dark green. Gligar jumped back and raised his claws, which began to glow light blue. Then, he jumped forward, crossing them in a 'X'-fashion, colliding against Exeggutor's headbutt. They passed through each other, and waited until one of them fell. Who was the winner? Exeggutor fainted, and Gligar was still able to battle!
"Exeggutor, return." Will withdrew his Pokémon. "My, my, that Gligar Is surely strong. But I assure you that he won't win the next round. Jynx, come forth!"
"Jynx!"
"Gligar, Sky Uppercut!"
"Lovely Kiss!"
"Wait, what?!"
Gligar's claw began to glow light blue. He then was about to uppercut Jynx, leaving a white trail behind his claw, but Jynx got a hold of him and then Jynx used her lips to kiss Gligar, on the face. Gligar immediately fell asleep.
"Gligar, no!"
"Ice Punch, Jynx!"
Jynx hurled Gligar up and then pulled back her right fist, whicvh became surrounded by light blue energy. Then, she punched Gligar, who came back due to gravity, and he was pushed towards his side of the field, half frozen. He then showed to be fainted.
"Gligar, return! Typhlosion, let's do this!"
Gold sent in his Typhlosion into the field, who roared and ignited his flames.
"Jynx, Psychic!"
"Eruption!"
Before Jynx could attack, Typhlosion lowered his head and released a geyser of orange flames, which easily overcame the psychic wave and hit Jynx, easily defeating her.
"Jynx, return to me." Will withdrew his third Pokémon, but knew wat to send in next. "Slowking, at my command!"
"Slow!" Slowking came out of the Poké Ball. Crystal was curious, and she used her Pokédex.
"Slowking, the Royal Pokémon, and one of the evolved forms of Slowpoke. It has incredible intellect and intuition. Whatever the situation, it remains calm and collected. When its head was bitten, toxins entered Slowpoke's head and unlocked an extraordinary power. When its head was bitten, toxins entered Slowpoke's head and unlocked an extraordinary power."
"Typhlosion, Flame Wheel!"
"Slowking, Water Pulse!"
Slowking formed a light blue orb between his hands and threw it at Typhlosion, who jumped and curled up, the fire on his back enveloping his body, and soared towards Slowking. Typhlosion hit the orb, which exploded into a wave of water, making him fall and slam against the ground, due to the super effective move.
"Psychic and then Power Gem!"
"King…!" Slowking's eyes began to glow light blue, and Typhlosion became outlined in the same color. He was lifted up and thrown into the air. The jewel on Slowking's forehead glowed brightly red and he fired a pale pink beam of energy with a bright white energy around it from the jewel at Typhlosion, defeating him. Now Gold was nervous. After all, Typhlosion was down. But he wasn't the only strong Pokémon though.
"Typhlosion, come back. Electabuzz! Let's do this, Aniki!"
"Erecaru!" Electabuzz jumped out of the Poké Ball and he was ready for a fight.
"Slowking, Power Gem!"
"Electabuzz, Thunder Punch, let's go!"
Slowking repeated the attack used to defeat Typhlosion, but Electabuzz was fast enough to dodge the attack. He ran towards Slowking and pulled back his right fist and punched with it, covered in electricity. Slowking was pushed back, but showed little to no damage.
"What?"
"My Slowking's defense is exceptional. Now, Curse!"
"Slow…" Slowking began to glow red, with an aura of the same color emanating from it.
"That won't be enough! Electabuzz, Thunder Punch again!"
"Zen Headbutt!"
Electabuzz and Slowking dashed at one another, Electabuzz with an electric covered fist and Slowking with his crown glowing light blue. They collided, resulting in an explosion, pushing them both back.
"Slowking, Trump Card!" Will commanded his Pokémon to create six red-glowing plates of energy in the form of a ring in front of his body. Slowking then fired the plates at Electabuzz.
"Electabuzz, Thunder!"
"Caru!" Electabuzz released a thunder blast from his body against the cards, destroying them.
"Thunder Punch!"
"Zen Headbutt!"
Electabuzz and Slowking used their physical attacks again, resulting in another explosion, but this time showing that both of them had fainted instead.
"Return." Said both Trainers, withdrawing their respective Pokémons.
"I like your style, Gold. You're a strong Trainer."
"You're pretty tough too. But that doesn't matter! Togetic, let's go!"
"Toge!"
"Espeon, to the battlefield."
Espeon came out of his Poké Ball, and he glared at Togetic, showing he was ready to fight her.
"Togetic, let's start with Shadow Ball!"
"Espeon, Trump Card!"
Togetic fired a dark and purple energy orb at Espeon, but he countered by using one of the same attacks as Slowking. Espeon created six red-glowing plates of energy in the form of a ring in front of his body and fired the plates at the orb, one making it explode, and the others travelling towards Togetic.
"Togetic, destroy the rest with Magical Leaf!"
"Tic!" Togetic waved her arms and released multiple green glowing leaves at the plates, the attacks destroying one another.
"Espeon, Psybeam!"
The red gem on Espeon's forehead shined and it released a multicolored beam from it at Togetic.
"Dodge and then Double-Edge!" Gold commanded. Togetic managed to fly away from the beam, and then dove down towards Espeon, leaving behing a golden trail. When she hit Espeon, she dashed up again in a zigzag-like fashion, leaving Espeon stunned.
"What?!"
"This is the true power of Onee-Togetic! Now, let's finish this with Aerial Ace!"
"Toge!" Togetic flew back and then dashed down towards Espeon.
"Mahō Suna!" Will's words stunned Gold, Crystal and Ruby. Espeon turned her back to Togetic kicked sand at Togetic. Her eyes glowed light blue, making the sand outlined in the same color. The sand flew into Togetic's eyes, and she couldn't shake it off.
"No!" Gold yelled in despair.
"The Technique worked just right. Espeon, Zap Canon!"
"Espe… ON!" The gem on Espeon's forehead glowed green and it fired a yellow-green energy ball from it at Togetic. Upon collision, an explosion happened, leaving a dark cloud of smoke. Togetic fell from it, unconscious.
"No… Togetic, return." Gold spoke, withdrawing his fallen Pokémon. He prepared his next choice. "Go, Sudowoodo!"
"Sudo-woodo!" Sudowoodo hopped into the battlefield, ready for the upcoming rumble.
"Wood Hammer!"
Sudowoodo's green orbs began to glow bright green and he dashed towards Espeon, ready to strike her.
"Grass Knot!" Espeon's eyes glowed green. Then, two blades of grass spurt near Sudowoodo and glowed green. They tied themselves into a knot, making Sudowoodo trip over it, slamming his face against the ground.
"Sudo…" Sudowoodo rubbed his face, calming down the pain.
"Sudowoodo, Rock Slide!"
"Zap Cannon, Espeon, let's go!"
The gem on Espeon's forehead glowed green and it fired a yellow-green energy ball from it at Sudowoodo. Sudowoodo, in turn, raised both of his arms into the air. Then, multiple white rings of energy appeared in front of Sudowoodo's body and large grey boulders came out of the ripples of energy. The boulders then fell down against Espeon, while the orb as slammed against Sudowoodo. The collision of attacks against the bodies created a large dark smoke cloud which spread all around the field.
After some seconds, the smoke faded away, showing both Espeon and Sudowoodo fainted.
"Return." Will and Gold grinned after saving the Poké Balls.
"I must admit, Gold, you're a very strong challenger."
"Thanks. You're not bad yourself." Gold joked, feeling his heart getting pumped up.
"Alright then. Xatu, to the battlefield!" Will revealed his final Pokémon. Gold had already seen a Xatu before. In fact, Crystal had a Xatu, so he knew some of what could come up in the battle.
"Let's win this, Mantine-Onee!" Gold sent in Mantine to the battlefield, and was ready to make her best for her Trainer.
"Xatu, Ominious Wind!" Xatu spread his wings and released a purple wind at Mantine.
"Mantine, Air Slash!"
"Man!" Mantine's wings glowed light blue and she flapped them, releasing multiple light blue glowing saw disc-like energy blades from her wings at Xatu. The rotation of the saw's made the dark winds spin around them and striking Xatu with his own attack and Air Slash.
"Xatu, Drill Peck!"
Xatu flew up and then dove down towards Mantine, spinning like a drill.
"Mantine, dodge!" Gold commanded, and Mantine flew back, barely dodging Xatu's attack. Xatu had his beak buried into the floor of the battleground. And that was when Will realized that Gold had won the battle. "Now, defeat him with Blizzard!"
"Man-TINE!" Mantine opened her mouth and white sparkles formed in her mouth. She then fired a blizzard from her mouth at Xatu, which froze him into a block of ice, which broke apart, making Xatu fall unconscious.
"We… We did it! We beat the first Elite 4 Member!" Gold cheered, hugging Mantine the best he could, Ruby and Crystal cheered him as well. Will withdrew Xatu and approached the one who defeated him.
"Even though I was defeated, I won't change my course. I will continue battling until I stand above all Trainers. Just like when I proved myself to the Elite 4 in order to become a member."
"In order to become a member?" Ruby wondered.
"Oh. You see, in order to become an Elite 4 Member, first there must be an empty position in order for some to enter. 3 Years ago, Lance, the supposed final Elite 4 member and Champion was defeated twice."
"Twice?" Crystal asked. "By who?"
"Well, I can't really give names." Will informed, making Gold, Ruby and Crystal sweatdrop. "One of them is the current Gym Leader of the Viridian Gym. The other is the current Kanto Champion."
"Wait, wait, wait! Isn't Lance the current Champion?" Gold asked, confused.
"The current Champion tittle in the Indigo Plateau belongs to lance, but the true tittle belongs to other. He resigned soon after becoming the Champion, but due to his status, he has a permanent tittle of "Champion of Kanto" until defeated."
"The Champion of Kanto…" Gold spoke in admiration.
"After that, both Lorelei and Agatha left the Elite 4. Lorelei returned to her home in the Sevii Islands, while Agatha simply disappeared, supposedly going on a journey. Leaving only 2 Members behind, two spots were open. That's when me and Karen applied to the spots. Of course there were many requirements. In the end, there were 4 People in a battle Royale in order to know the order of the Elite 4 set. But Lance and Karen tied, and in order to settle it all, Lance became the Champion and Karen the fourth member. And then, for the first time in many years, the Elite 4 recruited someone."
"They recruited someone? Who?" Gold asked, curious and somewhat impatient.
"After he came, I lost to him, but Bruno beat him. In order words, he's your next opponent."
Pokémon of the Day:
Exeggutor - Each head thinks independently of the others, so it makes a lot of noise as each head speaks its mind. If one of these heads grows too large, it falls off and groups back together to become an Exeggcute. Exeggutor and its pre-evolved form are the only known Pokémon that can learn Barrage.

I apologize for the very big time gap between this chapter and the last one, but school and tests, I didn't manage to get a lot of time. Not to mention, I've been working more on Fictionpress lately, and that is a great weakness of mine: writing original stories is a hell lot of fun ^^
