BATB: Ch. 35-

When Holly woke, she had no idea where she was. She blinked blearily, starting to sit up but making her head spin in the process, so she laid back down.

She was in a dark colored room; literally, everything in the room was no lighter than a light shade of brown. The walls were velvet red, there were several cherry-wood stands around the room, and the couch she was lying on was black. "Where...?" she croaked tiredly.

"My house," a gruff voice answered from the hallway behind her. She looked back to see Root, standing there watching her with his arms crossed. "I didn't figure you would want to stay in Argon's clinic, and you're house is gone, so you ended up here."

"Oh. Umm... Thanks," she said sheepishly. "You're right, I really hate Argon's clinic…"

"I thought so." He paused, walking over to sit in the chair opposite of the couch. "Look, Captain, I don't mind you staying here, but you have to behave yourself, or likely my wife will freak out on you."

"Your wife?!" Holly exclaimed. "I didn't know you were married, Commander."

"Humph. Not a lot of people do," he answered curtly. "Especially not the people who I work with. And keep it down, she is sleeping. Any sensible person would be, at this hour."

"Are you calling yourself an insensible person, Commander?"

He just shrugged. "I was just keeping watch on you. I'll tell you what, I don't know what it was or how much of it was in those darts, but when you passed out, you were out. And you have been for four straight hours. I was beginning to think maybe it did kill you."

"No, I'm fine," Holly sighed. "Just... How did I get here?" Or more correctly, how did you get me away from Fowl Manor, she thought.

She didn't say it aloud, but he seemed to get the true meaning behind her words. "You don't remember?" he asked, glancing at her.

"Not really," she admitted.

"Fowl... He let you go, Holly," Root sighed. He rubbed his forehead. "But only on the condition that you return when the case has been closed. Do you remember Opal Koboi? Foaly's competition for all these years?" Holly nodded. "Well, I'm not going to go into detail right now, but she's behind all of this. It shouldn't be too hard for us to get ahold of her, so it's likely you'll only be back in Haven a month or so."

Holly deflated. "Oh," she muttered, sounding disappointed.

"Don't worry. Knowing you and that pesky centuar, you can make it last."

She perked up slightly. "Really? I can see Foaly?" she asked excitedly.

Root shrugged. "Fowl never prohibited it, so I'd say you're fine there," he reasoned. "Anyway, it doesn't matter. It's not like he'll find out."

"He could if he wanted to."

"Perhaps you're right. He could if he wanted to, but right now I don't think he wants to. Anyway, you should get back to sleep if you plan on going back to work tomorrow. I'm not letting one of my best officers stumble around the plaza dead on their feet. What kind of boss would I be then?"

"What?" Holly asked, surprised. "I'm going back to work? And since when am I one of your best officers?"

"Never you mind. And yes, how else do you plan on helping?"

"I don't know, I just thought-"

"Keep. It. Down!" Root growled, giving her a death glare.

Holly clamped her hands down over her mouth and nodded. After a minute, she dropped them into her lap and murmured, "Sorry, Commander."

"Fine," he grunted, standing up. "Now I don't know about you, Short, but I'm going back to bed. Whether you do or not is your choice, but either way remember to keep it down. And I am getting you up for work tommorow, and if I have to do so I have no problem with doing the job with a bucket of water in my hand. Remember that while making your decision." He turned and headed towards the door.

Holly smiled weakly. "Okay. I will. Thank you, Commander. Goodnight."

"Night, Short." He headed back down the hallway. Holly listened to his footsteps fade away with a small smile, then shook her head and laid back down.

Holly's head spun that night. She tried several times, but she couldn't get to sleep. She was thinking about Artemis. Was he really going to kiss her? Or, even more important than that, was she really going to let him? Holly closed her eyes and shook her head, nothing happened, that's the important part.

Every time Holly tried to get some sleep, a vision of Artemis came to mind, snapping her out of her sleeping state. It was like that for the most part of the night until she was shook out of one of her dreams.

She woke up with a start, her head hurting from hitting it on the arm of the couch in her wake. She turned over and tried to get back to sleep, but her head was really bothering her now, and it prevented it. Sighing, she got up an padded softly into the next room, moving quickly but quietly in her search for an ice pack or something else to put on her head. It took a while, but then Holly was able to find a dish towel, so she dumped a few ice cubes in it and pressed that to her head instead.

She walked back over to the couch and laid down, laying her head in the arm and letting that keep the makeshift ice pack pressed to her head. It was cold, but it made lying down bearable. Soon she fell back asleep, into the worst one of all her nightmares that night...

Holly looked around Fowl manor, the sadness of being back coming over her. She had defeated Opal and completed her mission, and now the deal she made with Fowl had to be completed.

Holly knocked on the front door, her mind reeling. She expected Artemis to open the it, or at least Butler. But she was shocked to find that it was Angeline who did.

"An-Angeline?" Holly asked, her mouth opened in awe. She wasn't suppose to be out of the attic, she wasn't sane yet.

"Hello, who are you?" the woman asked, a wide smile on her face.

Holly gulped, her mouth suddenly dry. "Hi. I'm...ummm..." She snapped her fingers behind her back, trying to remember what she was here for again. The shock of seeing Angeline was too much for her.

"She is looking for me," Holly suddenly heard somebody say. She looked around Angeline to see Artemis, walking down the grand stairs to the door.

"Oh, then come on, dear, come in," Angeline ushered, motioning for Holly to do so. The elf took a deep breath before complying.

They all sat on the couches. Holly was very uncomfortable just sitting there, but she did, carefully answering any questions that Angeline threw at her.

Just as Angeline opened her mouth to ask Holly another question, Artemis raised his hand to stop her. "I think that's enough questions," he said stiffly. "I have some things I need to discuss with Holly." He paused, then said, quieter, "in private."

Holly stiffened. "Artemis-"

"May we be excused?" he continued, as if he hadn't heard her, speaking to his mother.

"Of course, dear," she said airily. "I'm sure you have lots of things you want to do. Run along now."

And without another seconds pause, Artemis snatched Holly by the arm and started dragging her out the door. Butler didn't let him make a getaway without stopping him first. "Don't hurt her, Artemis," he said quietly.

Artemis didn't even pause, pushing past the manservant and heading towards the stairs, still dragging Holly with him.

Holly fought hard to stay composed, but the battle went down hill when Artemis turned and pushed her in front of him, directing her towards a staircase. "Move," he ordered.

"Artemis-"

"Don't speak," he interrupted. "Just move." Holly was trembling, but she did as she was told. She wasn't sure where he was taking her or what he planned to do with her when he got her there, but secretly she was a little glad that they were going up instead of down. At first she had thought they were headed to the basement, but they passed that stair case on the way over to this one, thankfully.

But there was no reason to be thankfully yet. Just because they weren't going down there didn't mean she was safe.

Artemis walked closely behind Holly as she ascended the steps, probably in case she tried to run, and she could feel his gaze on her as he studied her closely.

When they made it upstairs, he grabbed the back of her neck and began leading her down the hall. It didn't take long to reach the door he was looking for, and when he did he threw it open and shoved her inside. She tripped over her own feet and fell down a few feet away from him. Paid her no attention as he slammed the door and locked it behind him. Then he stuck the key in his pocket and turned to her, slowly advancing.

"A-Artemis, please..." she said, scrambling back, away from him. "W-wait... If you let me, I- I can exp-"

"Didn't I say quiet?" he thundered. Immediately the elf fell silent. He followed her back until she was against the wall, then walked forward and knelt in front of her. She whimpered as he put his hands up on either side of her, effectively trapping her. His body pressed up against hers, and Holly swallowed hard as he caught her eyes and ordered, "Don't scream." There was nothing else for her to do but nod.

He got closer, craning his neck around hers to force her to lift her head up, and put his lips by her ear. He moved his hand from one side of her to reach in his front pocket. Holly immediately realized what he was doing, and she swallowed hard and squeezed her eyes shut. Seconds later, there was a barely audible clicking sound and she felt something cold touch her throat.

When he spoke, it sounded so loud to her because of how close he was. In actuality, his voice was barely even as whisper. "What took so long?"

"I... Artemis, honestly, it wasn't my fault! I did everything I could, but if I rushed too much Opal would have stayed in hiding and I wouldn't have got her and I swear-"

"Stop right there, and breathe. Deeply. In and out." Holly closed her eyes and did as she was told. "Good. Now stop rambling and talk. It irritates me when you babble like that."

Holly nodded lightly, trying hard to ignore the boy, who had released the pressure on the knife and started trailing it all over her throat. He never pressed too hard, as to not end up accidentally slitting her throat or something, but he always pressed just hard enough to make sure it scratched her skin, making it burn and turn red and raw. Holly suspected he wasn't just trailing it in a random pattern, but she didn't dare say anything on the subject. Instead she took a deep breathing, internally discounting all she had just said a minute ago as she restarted her explanation. "I- It was Opal. You said I could stay until we ended the goblin revolution and took care of Opal. Well, we just now did that. She's a very elusive pixie when she wants to be. And I..." She suddenly realized what she had just about said and stopped.

Artemis froze, pulling back to look at her and pressing her back more into the wall. "And you what?" he growled. She didn't answer. "Answer the question, Holly. Finish the sentence."

"And… I wanted to stay as long as I could," she finished softly. "I ...sorry, Artemis. I just missed my family and friends, and I won't lie, after I got there, I didn't want to leave."

"Too bad. You don't need them anyways. You have family and friends here." He pressed the knife harder into her throat, making sure she couldn't move unless she wanted to slit her own throat open, and moved in to put his face inches from hers. "You have me." And then, in one swift movement that surprised her, he removed his left hand from the wall (the other hand still holding the knife to her throat), and wrapped it around her back, pulling so she had to arch up into his body to keep from moving her head as well. Then he crushed his lips to hers.

Holly gasped. She wanted to pull away, but there was nowhere for her to go. So she laid there, waiting for him to pull back.

Eventually he did, and she turned her head to cough and gag over his arm. The alcohol was strong on his breath. "Does your mother know you were drinking? Gods, what are you? Only 13, 14 at most?!" she asked.

"It does not matter. And either way, you will not tell her," he said, looking her dead in the eyes. Holly dropped he eyes away a second later, but the order was given. "Correct?"

She nodded, still averting her eyes. He smirked and bent down, kissing her neck, while the knife moved again. This time it stopped right above her jugular vein. Holly gasped when he pushed it in, hovering just a little above the large vein.

"I should do this," he murmured absently. "I think it would be a good idea."

"No! It isn't! Artemis, please, don't kill me!" she pleaded. "You don't understand!"

"Maybe not all of it. But what I do understand is that you tried to leave me. So selfish, and ungrateful.."

"No! I planned on coming back, always! I just didn't want to have to come back so soon!"

He pulled back from her neck to give her a death glare. He snarled, "A year. That's how long its been, Holly. How was that not enough time for you?"

Holly looked away, choosing not to answer. On the inside, she was wishing it could have been longer. But no, she thought bitterly. She was in the custody of this boy once again.

"I made a mistake letting you go." Artemis stated, when she didn't answer. "I won't do it again."

That was not what she wanted to hear. "Letting me go was not your mistake, Artemis," she countered in a soft voice. "Your mistake was keeping me here. I don't belong here." She looked at him dead in the eyes.

"It doesn't matter now!" Artemis growled, frustrated. "I can't do anything."

"Yes, you can!"

"Oh really? What, then?"

"You can let me go... please," Holly murmured. Artemis shook his head, and Holly whimpered, tears starting to fall from her eyes.

The boy sighed, using one hand to wipe away the tears on her cheeks. She closed her eyes when he touched her, wanting to flinch away but not being able to with the knife still on her throat.

"Don't cry, Holly." Artemis said softly. Leaning down, he whispered, again, "don't cry."

He finally removed the knife, pulling it away and snapping it closed quickly. She didn't move. Then Artemis turned back to her, releasing his holds on her to put one hand one the back of her neck and the other on the side of her face. He slowly leaned down towards her, and Holly instantly realized he was about it kiss her again.

Holly didn't know what to do. She didn't want this, not at all. She would have easily been able to turn her head away now, but what if she did? Would he punish her more? She wasn't sure, but she didn't want to find out, so she held still as he got closer. She could feel his warm breath on her lips as he moved down the last millimeter...

Holly gasped, sitting up with her eyes wide as she looked around, trying to remember where she was. When she saw someone sitting to the left of her, she freaked out.

"Hey, hey, hey!" She heard the person say, holding up her hands when Holly tried to scramble away. "I'm not going to hurt you. Are you okay?"

Holly's breathing calmed down as she realized there was no threat. In the chair across from the couch she was sleeping on was a woman with short black hair, almost in a pixie cut. Her green eyes looked at Holly with curiosity.

"Yeah...Yeah, I'm fine thank you." Holly said, composing herself to her best ability. "Bad dream."

The woman nodded as if she completely understood. She decided to drop the subject. "Coffee?" She asked, holding out a steaming dark green mug out to her.

"Thanks..." Holly answered, taking the cup from her hands.

"My name is Melissa Root." She said, extending her hand and smiling warmly.

"So you're Root's wife?" Holly said, shaking the extended hand with the one not currently holding the cup of coffee.

Melissa nodded, "Yes."

"Well, I'm Ho-"

"Captain Holly Short, oh I know all about the trouble you've caused. At least what Julius tells me." She finished.

Holly looked down and smiled sheepishly, "I suppose it's alot to tell if it's all about trouble."

"Oh, not all of-"

"Alright Melissa." A deep voice said from the hallway. "I don't need another one of my officer's to get a bigger head."

"Good morning to you too, Sleepyhead." She said, getting up and going over to him, where he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Sometimes I swear I'll need a bucket of water to wake YOU up."

Root rolled his eyes, "You were suppose to be asleep, not eavesdropping."

"Well, I was up all night waiting for you to return." She said. "You missed Valentine's Day."

Root's usual frown turned into a smile as he held her tighter, whispering in her ear, "And I'll make it up to you later." Before letting her go, moving towards the door.

"Come on Short, unless you still want me to get that bucket of water." He said, frown returning to his face.

Holly's eyes widened even more than they were as she took a sip of the coffee in her hands before standing up and heading to the door with her Commander.

"Nice to meet you." Holly said to Melissa before leaving.

Root's wife smiled, nodding as she closed the door behind them.

"We don't want people to see you." Root said, walking down to the streets. "We would have a natural riot on our hands if citizens found out you were back in Haven. You're dead."

"So how are we going to do that?" Holly asked, following Root.

"Car." He said, walking to one on the side of the street. He got his keys out and unlocked the doors. They both got in, Holly looked out the window. But Root didn't start the car.

No, instead he put the ignition key on the dash, turning to the right in his seat and looking over at Holly expectantly.

"Yes?" Holly asked when she noticed what the Commander was doing.

"Care to tell me why you freaked out this morning?" He asked.

"No sir." Holly Said, turning back to the window.

"Holly. One, you aren't in the LEP anymore, and two, even if you were we are off duty. You can talk freely, person to person. Friend to Friend."

Holly scoffed, "No offense sir, but when have we actually been friends?" She still didn't look at him.

"Since I was the only elf under or above the earth to know you were alive. Now Holly, you have to trust me. You have to believe me when I say that I know what I'm doing and that I will do everything in my power to help you."

Holly shut her eyes tightly, shaking away the oncoming tears.

"Can you trust me Holly?" Root asked.

Holly opened her eyes, looking over with sad eyes and saying, "I think I told you that when I joined Recon."

Root nodded, a small smile on his face. He started the car and drove away to LEP Headquarters.

"Okay, so I suppose I should fill you in right here and now. Since we are trying to keep the secret of you being alive, we have to take some safety procedures. One including that you will always have someone with clearance at your side at all times. The only people with clearance is me, Foaly, and Trouble. Another is that in any written files you will be considered as 'Project X.' You will also have a team, but Foaly will fill you in on that later. They however, do not have clearance to know anything except that they listen and obey you."

Holly nodded, staring out the window. "He doesn't know I'm coming, does he?" She said, smiling slightly at the remembrance of the centaur.

"It slipped my mind." He said, focusing on the traffic ahead.

"He is going to have a heart attack." Holly joked.

Root looked over at her, "I'm hoping for it." He replied, smirking a bit.

The rest of the ride was playful banter and laughter the entire time. Holly had to admit, it was nice to talk to another elf. Even if that elf didn't like her that much a year ago.

Holly and Root exited the car and walked through the back entrance of the building. Nobody was over there, but even then Root told her to put her shield up. The only reason they took the car instead of walking was because it was faster and they didn't know how much magic Holly had left.

The Commander entered the Ops Booth cautiously, tell Holly to stay in the hall.

"Turn off the video cameras in here." Root said as he entered the room cautiously.

Foaly turned around and snorted, "I don't have any in here. Julius, what are you doing?" He asked when he saw Root searching every crease and corner of the room.

"Just...making...sure." The Commander said as he was searching.

Root made a motion for Holly to come into the room and then turned back to Foaly. "Close the door." He instructed. "And lock it."

Foaly, to confused to argue, did as he was told for once. Once he did, he sighed in frustration. "What is going on?"

Root motioned for Holly to wait another moment as he continued his conversation with Foaly. "Remember that file I sent you last night?"

Foaly nodded slowly, "The one that made absolutely no sense? About someone named...' Project X?'"

The Commander nodded, "Meet 'Project X.'"

The was when Holly unshielded, making Foaly's eyes widen and his jaw drop open. "H-Holly?" He was barely able to stutter out.

Holly smiled warmly, "It's me." She said softly.

"Thank Frond!" The centaur exclaimed, getting up from specialized his desk chair to put his hands on Holly's shoulders, looking the elf over.

"Hi." The elf said weakly.

Foaly smiled sadly, pulling her into a warm embrace. "I thought you were gone."

Holly could only nod as she held onto the centaur. "I thought so too." She whispered, barely audible.

Root cleared his throat and the two separated. "Although this is all very touching," The Commander said, "We should move on."

Foaly nodded, "Of course." He said, turning around and clopping back over to one of the many computers in the room. There, he opened a file reading it's contents over once and turning back to Holly

"The Goblin Revolution has gotten worse than ever. It's more of a war than anything. It's centered to one point, one person to be more specific."

"Opal Koboi." The Commander finished.

The centaur nodded. "Now, I know Koboi. Like myself, she is a genius. But she is a megalomaniac. That is her vulnerability. All you have to do is promise her the world and the takedown is smooth sailing. Any questions?"

Holly nodded, but her mouth was a grim slash, "Why me?"

Root sighed, stepping up next to Holly. "Captain, this mission is to go in and kill Koboi. Her sanctuary is protected by thousands of Goblins. This mission...it's basically suicide. There's only a slight chance that you will make it out, but it's the only chance we have. We chose you because..."

"I have a death wish." Holly completed.

Foaly and Root nodded sadly simultaneously.

"So I either die defending Haven or die above ground with Fowl." The elf sighed. "Well, I think we all know which one I'm choosing."

The Commander smiled warmly, but it quickly dissipated when the door to the Ops Booth opened swiftly. Trouble stepped in, looking down at some paperwork at the time. He took a few steps before looking up.

As soon as he saw Holly, he dropped his paperwork, his eyes widening to be as big as saucers. He took a couple steps back, as if he had seen a ghost.

Well, technically...He did.

And that...is when he collapsed.

"D'Arvit centaur!" Root thundered. "I thought I told you to lock the door!" The Commander's face already becoming red.

"I thought I did." Foaly mumbled, turning back to his computer to check again. "Something must have unlocked it somehow."

The Commander huffed, "Well it doesn't matter now, does it?" He stomped over to the unconscious form of Trouble. He kicked the Captain's side lightly.

Trouble moaned once before opening his eyes. "Wh...What happened?" He groaned.

"Hey." Holly said smiling. She waved her hand once before she came over to him.

"What the hell?! Holly!" He said in disbelief. "You-You're..."

"Dead?" She finished, Holly looked over to Foaly and Root. "So I've been told."

Foaly nodded from his seat, "Apparently Fowl didn't kill her."

Trouble scowled, "I can see that genius. But why didn't he, Holly?"

Root, Foaly, and Trouble all looked over at the female, waiting for the most wanted answer in all of this.

Holly looked down, shaking her head sadly. "I don't know." She said softly, "I...I just don't..."

Root sighed, going back over to Holly and lifting her chin. "It's alright now. You're here, not over there."

"But you said it yourself." She said shakily, "I could be going back to Fowl in as little as a month."

The Commander closed his eyes, "I know, but Holly you are out now. That's all that matters for right now. We will worry about Fowl when the time comes."

Holly nodded, it was her old Commander...She had to trust him, or at least do what he said, no matter what.

"Wait, what?" Trouble asked, confused. "What happened with Fowl?"

Root and Foaly exchanged glances, "Why don't we let Holly explain." The Commander said, "The Centaur and I have to get some paperwork signed in my office anyhow."

The two left the Ops Booth, Foaly securely locking the door on the way out.

Trouble turned to Holly. He could see she was clearly upset about this whole situation. "Listen Holly," He said gently, waking up to the elf. "You don't have to tell me if it's too painful. I can have Commander Root or Foaly do that when they come back. But like Root said, everything is going to be okay now, you are safe. No one is going to harm you."

A very small smile appeared on Holly's face as she said, "Thanks Trouble." She looked up at, eyes misty.

He smiled back kindly and laid his hand on her cheek. "I always knew there was something about you, Captain." He whispered. "I just never fully realized it until you were gone."

And that was when he put his lips to hers, his hand on her cheek going to the back of her head and the other wrapping around her waist, both pulling her in.

To say that Holly was shocked was an understatement. It's not that she didn't like Trouble, she did, by in an older-brother kind of way. And he didn't know about her death mission or that if she survived she had to go back to Fowl. She wanted to pull away, but found that she was trapped in his embrace.

When Trouble pulled back, he was still holding Holly close. Her eyes were wide as she whispered, "I can't Trouble."

"What are you talking about?" He asked.

Holly gulped and shook her head, her mind spinning. "I just...the reason I'm back is because I have to go on a dangerous mission."

Trouble smiled, "We both know you will get out just fine Holls. You are one of the best officers in this place."

"It's..." Holly trailed off, but forced herself to tell him. "It's not that. If the mission is a success, I have to go back to Fowl. That was the only reason why I got to leave in the first place."

Trouble let her go, taking a few steps back. "So you aren't free from Fowl?"

Holly shook her head. "No."

He growled, "I'm going to kill that little mud brat. Maybe then the hold on you will be broken."

"Trouble, don't do that, it's not that he was that bad. Just seeing everyone here, it's making me miss what I used to have, making me upset. Fowl...he's just a kid."

"Holly are you listening to yourself?!" Trouble said, voice raised a bit. "He kidnapped you, held you for ransom...and now your saying that 'He's not that bad?'"

"He let me go didn't he?" Holly said, her voice getting louder as well.

"Ok then Holly, answer me this: Do you want to go back? Because that's what I'm hearing right now."

"No! Of course not! He's just not as cruel as everyone seems to think!"

Trouble shook his head, putting his hands on a table and leaning on it for support, his eyes closed. "You are making no sense Holly."

"Listen. Trouble. Now that I have had a chance to look over everything that has happened to me, I realize that Artemis...He has reasons for everything he does. It's not fair to judge him before you know those reasons."

"Artemis? You're on first-name-basis with this kid? Since when has that happened? And I'm not judging him, I'm just saying that I will not see you go back to that beast. I will kill him if that happens, even if that is the very last thing I do."

As soon as Foaly locked the door to the Ops Booth and started walking to the Commander's office he asked, "What paperwork?"

Root looked at him, "Talk more about it in the office." He snipped.

Foaly shot a look of confusion at the Commander, but didn't question him. They walked through the rest of the building to his office in silence, Root only saying something to shoo away his assistant in the room. He closed the door softly and locked the door behind him. He stood there at the door, resting his forehead against it, for a second before hitting it once with his fist.

Foaly flinched when the Commander did so. "So what didn't you want Holly to hear Julius?"

Root turned around, his face a light tint of red already. "God's Foaly, I got there right on time."

Foaly raised an eyebrow, "What could be so bad? Honestly Julius you have been so stressed out lately you think everything is bad. You were yelling at a plant the other day!"

Julius ignored him, instead of making a comeback, he just simply said, "Fowl and Short were about to kiss."

All of the color drained from Foaly's face at that moment, "Oh..." Was all the normally chatty centaur could say.

"Yes, but luckily I showed up at that time and they started an argument. Still, he let her go-"

"And that would take some actual emotions to do." Foaly finished, "Either that or he got sick and tired of her."

Root sighed and shook his head, "I'm just afraid that Holly might have the same feelings..."

"I doubt that Julius. It's probably just Stockholm Syndrome. Holly, as a hostage negotiator, knows how to recognize it."

Root looked over at Foaly, "I don't know Foaly, Holly is known for going against regulations. I'd say that falling for your 12 Year old captor is definitely out of code."

"I'm not so sure Julius."

"Centaur, how many times have I said not to call me that?" Root snapped, "And I just don't want her to fall for that beast."

That long enough for y'all?
