When I woke up the next morning I noticed black scales covering the wound. Scared and in a panic I ran outside to the cove,on my way I bumped into Gobber." I can't help with the training for a few days,I have to go see someone"I said to him and continued. By the time I reached the cove the scales had covered my entire arm.I ran to where Toothless was sleeping and shook him awake." What's wrong,I didn't expect to see you this early"he asked."this"I said and le him see my arm." Do you know why this happened"I asked."well,there is a legend that if a dragon and a human share a deep connection and the human gets dragonblood on a wound he become a half-dragon."he said."the human gets the ability to change into a dragon,but I didn't think the legend was true. You need to learn how to use and control it."he continued." Can you teach me that"I asked." No,but an old friend of me can. He is a siren named Batwings. A siren is the only kind of dragon able to change form"Toothless said."where can I find him"I asked." He lives on the farthest point away from the village. I think that that boy like you can draw you a map,I have seen him draw"he said."wait how do you know Hiccup"I asked in confusion."he relead me when I was shot down a few days ago. At first I wanted to kill him but he spared my life so I spared his."he anwsered."thank you, I see you when I learned to control it"I said and left.
Hiccup pov
I had just finished breakfast when Draco asked me for a map of the island."I need it to find a herb to make sure the wound heals perfectly"he told me." I have one in my book, I go get it ." I said and went to my room to grab a book with maps in it. As I returned downstairs he said"thank you for sparing that Night fury,he means a lot to me"I gave him the book and asked him to keep Toothless a secret,he agreed and left.
Draco pov
With the map I reached the place Toothless gave just past noon. I spotted someone resting at a lake. I went to ask if he knew where Batwings was."I am Batwings,who is asking"he said." I am,a night fury send as you can teach me to control half-dragon abilities"I said as a tail and wings ripped trough my vest and pants."I see the legend is true then,ok I will help"he said and he gave me a root." It will make it easier to control it"he said noticing the confused look on my face.
The rest of the day he taught to retract my tail and wing."focus on them."he I had done it a few times he said that I was a natural"it looks like you were destined to be a dragon from the beginning"he said proudly. During dinner I asked more about him and how he knew the night fury."a few years ago I got injured in battle and crashed on Dragon Island,he was the only one to trust me and he protected me while I was recovering. When I was better we went hunting together last time I saw him was when I returned to my family."he told me. "Let me ask you something,how do you know him,I tought that vikings and dragons fought eachother" he asked."when I was 5 my family were caught in a storm. My parents died that day but I was saved by Toothless. He raised me and taught me how to survive as a dragon and taught me dragonese,but when I was 10 I became very ill. He couldn't heal me since it was a sickness dragons can't get,so he brought me to the edge of the village. Since then I have been taken in by the chief." I told him."who is this Toothless you speak of"he asked "That is how Hiccup named the Night fury after they became friends"I said
Two days later he said that since the scales had covered me completly I was ready to try change form."you can change between human,dragon or half-dragon. In half-dragon form you look like a dragon but while having the shape of a human ."he said."how do I do that"I asked."the same as you did the retract them,just focus and after a while it will become second nature to you."he said. I had trouble with the change at first but Batwings said"take you'r time,that way you will control it faster then when you haste yourself."when I succeeded in turning into dragon form he walked around me like he was inspecting me"if I didn't know better I would say that you are a fullblood night fury,by the way you look" he said wich I took as a compliment.I changed back and asked if we could eat something."yes it takes a lot out of you changing for the first time. It was the same with me when I was a baby"he said as we went to the campfire. After that I wondered how Hiccup was doing, "I will find out,it is best for you to take a nap and recharge your energy."Batwings said and flew of.
Batwings pov
When I reached the village I changed form and asked a viking where Hiccup was."he is in the forge over there."the viking saidand pointed to the forge. "Can I speak with you for a while"I asked him,"yeah sure,but can you wait 5 more minutes"he anwsered.5 minutes later he took me to the backroom of the forge once there he asked"what did you wanted to talk about with me?"."Draco, he was wondering how you were doing." I told him."I'm doing great with both dragon training and with Toothless,I am building a saddle to help him fly again. It allows me to control the tailfin I build. And he helps me without him knowing by the way he react at items,those tricks I use during training to fight them without hurting them."he said"but why are you asking about me,do you have something to do with his dissapearing"he asked."kind of,he came to me looking for help and now I am giving him a sort of dragon training of his own"I said. Gobber came in and said"there you are Hiccup we are all waiting at the catapult for you" I said goodby to him and said that I would tell Draco what he told me.
Draco pov
When I woke up Batwings sat at the campfire making breakfast. He told me what Hiccup had was good to hear that Hiccup amd Toothless were doing great."what will you learn me today"I asked."I will teach you to fly"he said. He showed me how to set of and land."let your instincs take over,becuease if you think about it ,it will be hard "he say. After an hour I had no trouble with we flew I had trouble keeping up with him Batwings noticed this and said"don't worry about it you speed and agility will increase the more you fly"
