What a horrible week. I guess the only thing that really saved me was the fact that I had Zelda. The thing is that my grandfather died on Tuesday... it was peaceful and he died in the hospital. He had actually said that he was ready, so I can't say he didn't want to go. Although, he was 81 years old. I'm sorry for dumping on you guys here, but this was the first time that something like this had ever happened in my life, so yeah. *sigh* In other news, nobody guessed this dungeon's item. I would give the last hint that it was an item that you got through the overworld only, but the chapters are already here, so yeah. Now, I'm going to respond to guest reviews! To the Drone: I finished ALBW on Sunday last week and then started a new file that's on hero mode. Because of all the crap that happened throughout the week, though, I'm just about the get the Master Sword in that file right now. Also, if you've seen Link put on the masks, then you would've expected them to be that painful... that and I once read a fic that described them like that. Don't worry, I still like suggestions! Finally, I do like those items, but (as seen above) neither one was the item that I used. Yes, it's that obscure!
Now, to Kagu the Great: You really should get it. It only really gets hard if you go for hero mode, and that only happens after you beat the game once. The game's non-linearity makes it so that if you're stuck on one dungeon, then you can just go off and do a different dungeon instead! As far as the shrinking goes... that's not the item. However, you did give me a rather entertaining idea that I might use. I'm not sure yet... and the gust jar was a good guess, because it's actually pretty obscure, but it's not obscure enough. Also, I'm glad that you find the filler chapters to be funny. That's usually what I try to go for, but sometimes it needs a different emotion. Whatever's needed for the scene, really. Finally, you actually confused me for a minute there before I remembered that Americans have thanksgiving in November, while Canadians have it in September. Yes, I'm Canadian. I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving, irregardless, so yeah.
Anyway, without further ado, here's the next three chapters:
Chapter 37: Sand
The gerudo honestly scared me with how much they acted like an angry master. However, I was glad that they still cooperated anyway. The three of us were walking along a really long corridor, with the end looking really far away. Therefore, I took the opportunity to try and shake some of the sand out of my hair. The other two Links saw what I was doing and tried to do the same thing. I then stifled a laugh (I didn't even really know why I was laughing)as we entered what seemed to be the main room of this… whatever type of building we were in.
Looking around, I saw a while lot of sand. In fact, that amount that I saw was absolutely ridiculous in quantity when the face that we were inside was taken into account. To my left, I saw a pit of what looked like quicksand, except that there were some sort of really tiny pincers sticking out of the middle. Deciding not to mess with whatever that was, I turned to my right to find a solid floor that had some pretty suspicious holes in it.
Future Link decided to approach them slowly, just to see what would happen. Well, all three of us certainly got a surprise when a crapload of giant spikes rose out of the floor, trying to impale him! However, I had noticed that there was a way around the spikes just from the way that they were positioned. I mentioned that I saw it and the other two Links praised me for it, then told me to lead the way. Afterward, future Link mentioned that we had better watch out steps from then on.
Dismissing the redundancy of his statement, we pressed on only to find a room that had a mere few floor tiles here and there. The rest was nothing but sand… and the sane, in and of itself, didn't really look all too stable. However, knight Link decided to take it upon himself to try and jump to one of the tiles. He probably guessed that if something happened, then I could save him with my hookshot, so he would be able to go in without a problem. Thankfully, though, the tile of floor didn't sink.
Instead, it started sliding across the sand! I pulled out my hookshot in order to retrieve him, but the tile pulled him out of reach by taking him down a corridor. There HAD to be a conscious mind behind that thing if it did THAT! Thus, both future Link and I got on our own loose tiles and waited for them to move. Unfortunately, they stayed put and the two of us were left there, wondering what to do… until future Link had the idea of me using the beetle to look down the corridor.
Thus, I sent the beetle along almost instantly in order to follow knight Link. Meanwhile, future Link started looking around for another way forward. The beetle, as I saw it, took five turns before the sand beneath it seemed to dip underneath a platform that lead to a path elsewhere. I then decided to send it down the sand-path, but I soon wished that I hadn't. The path lead to the jaws of a huge monster of some sort! In fact, the inside of its mouth was the only thing visible, so I didn't even know what this thing was!
Immediately, I turned the beetle around, praying that knight Link had choose the correct path. My heart was beating wildly, but I tried to keep my cool just in case he did choose correctly. Thankfully, when I did send the beetle down the correct path, I eventually spotted knight Link walking around and area, obviously wondering where he was and what he should do. I called out to future Link that I had found him just as future Link called out to me that he had found a way forward. I then made the beetle steer towards knight Link, who, after noticing it, reached out to grab it.
After that, everything was creative beetle navigating and the solving of many relatively clever puzzles until we were reunited in the same room. Never mind that it was actually a dead end. At least the three of us were back together again. At that point, all that we had to do was go back to the main room because future Link had an idea of what to do about that thing that was sticking its pincers out of the sand back there.
