O_O Four days 'till Christmas! Who's excited?! I wanted to release some sort of a Christmas special oneshot, but stuff happened. So, because someone requested it, I will never let the Links swear again. HOWEVER, this does not mean that other characters won't swear. Please bear that in mind. Also, out of the two reviewers, you both guessed who you thought was messing with the Links at the end of the last chapter. Well, one of you guessed right (I'm not going to say who)! However, the guesses were as follows: Veran, Onox, Dark/Shadow Link, and Girahim. XD Anyway, speaking of reviews, I'm going to respond to the guest ones now. To The Drone: Fair enough. Although you seem to already have enough knowledge of the game to understand a reference or two. :) Also, yes, I was talking about that salesman, although it was the biggest surprise for me. Your biggest surprise was my second biggest. ;) As far as your guess goes, I'm not going to tell who got it correct (see above). Now, I don't want to repeat a dungeon theme, and they've already had their water themed dungeon, so no. The next dungeon is not water themed. Nor is it any theme that we've already seen. I will not repeat a dungeon theme. And, finally, as for your last point, see above. ;) Thanks!
To Kagu The Great: At this point, I've already written the next dungeon. Not the next boss fight, but the next dungeon, yes. As far as your guess goes, I'm not going to tell who got it correct (see above). Yet, I will tell you that the name of the shadow sorceress from OoA is Veran. Also, the general from OoS is Onox, not Onix (because Onix is a pokemon). The other guy's name is spelt Girahim. Anyway, Midna is from the child timeline and there's no way for her to return, so I'm going to have to say no. Also, everyone from TP is probably dead by this point in the story. Oh well. Also, if they already have the masks, then I think that they have enough items that transform them. I've gotta keep it special, somehow. Finally, that won't be the last time that the Links will confronted with the sand! XD
Now, it's on to the good stuff. I should let you guys know that I wrote these ones on my way to and from my grandfather's funeral. That's why the end of the first one is a little unnecessarily sappy/cliché. Either way, though, here's chapters 46-48:
Chapter 46: Relief
The first thing that we did as soon as we got back to my dimension was that we made a plan to conserve our food and energy so that we would last over a week before we needed to forage, or something. Although we knew that this Zelda was on her way and would likely arrive within twenty-four hours of our own arrival, we were still pretty paranoid. Sure enough, we only had to wait about eight hours before she showed up. Almost instantly, she asked us how long we had been waiting for her. Understandably, she was incredibly relieved to see that we hadn't even waited for a whole day yet.
"That's probably the biggest relief that I have ever had!... Well, other than actually finding you last time. Either way, come on: the caravan that holds all of the others is right over here!" Zelda rattled off before she lead us off in what was seemingly a random direction. Along the way, I noticed that spring was just as close here as what it was back in knight Link's dimension.
Finally, we reached the area where all of the other hylians were waiting for us. Upon seeing us, the hylians that knew who we were (all of them) began to just plain swarm us because of how happy they were to see us. Apparently, we had fans! Before we knew it, they started asking us what had happened since they last saw me. Thankfully, Zelda intervened and told us that the princess from knight Link's dimension had telepathically told her what happened, so we could tell them AFTER we set out.
Mostly, they wanted to hear the story from me because I spoke more like them. Future Link often used words that we weren't familiar with and he ended up having to explain them. Knight Link, on the other hand, used lengthy explanations for things that we already understood. Frankly, it made a lot of sense. However, I did have the other two join me for explaining a few moments. Especially the ones where we were separated for one reason or another.
Obviously, there was the bunch who were very jealous, but that was to be expected. The others quickly calmed them down, though, by telling them that at least their master was Zelda, of all people. Then, we got to the parts where we described our fights with the possessed ice sculpture and Molgera. This shut them up pretty fast because they desperately didn't want to be in that position. Evidently, they were workers, not fighters.
This, I could understand. Both future Link and I learned how to fight on the job, so we were already pretty nervous about fighting. However, the simple fact that we had never lost before and that the other hylians were inflating our confidence with amazement really made us feel even more special than what we already were. It was at that point that I figured that even though the things that happened in this dimension were horrible, at least some good could be found.
