Chapter 48: Acting Like Children

When we got back to Zelda's mansion (it was extremely different from the ancient mansion that we visited in future Link's dimension), we got absolutely swarmed by the other hylians. They obviously loved us and those who weren't with Zelda when she picked us up were practically begging us to tell them what happened. Eventually, it got to the point where Zelda had to yell at them in order to make herself hearable. To make a long story short, she told them that we would tell them about everything later, but at that point, she needed to talk to us privately.

Not complaining, the three of us followed her to a seemingly random room. Once inside and away from the others, she sighed heavily.

"Okay, ever since slave Link left, they've been wanting to know what was going on with you guys. I personally find it rather charming that you have so many fans." After this, I remarked at how they were a lot calmer during the last time that we were there. To which future Link agreed, but slave Link actually said that he seemed to remember some of them starting to get little weird around the time that he had left.

"Well, I guess that whenever they wanted to know if you guys were still alive, I told them that you were. However, I also told them that you would tell them of what exactly happened over there. A lot of them want to be just like you guys, he he. Although, I'm a little bit concerned about how some of them want to learn how to fight like you. What if they get hurt?" She then sighed before continuing.

"… I'm not going to say that they can't watch you spar, yes I know that you need to do that every now and then, but just be careful that you don't make them think that they can do what you can. Now that could be disastrous." In response, future Link chuckled a little bit and stated that they were just like children. I could see his reasoning because I knew that a child would try anything, but there seemed to be a little bit more to that statement. He went on to further explain that how they were crowding around us and that they were seemingly obsessed with us made them more like excited children than anything else.

Thinking about this, I realized that he was completely right. I knew that obsessing over something wasn't all THAT childish, but the extremity that these guys were taking it to was kind of ridiculous. Future Link seemed fine with it, though, so I just trusted him and shrugged it off. Slave Link, on the other hand, seemed really nervous that there were actually people who were looking up to him, for once… at least that he knew of. Either way, Zelda then chimed in, saying

"I guess you're right. Then again, you've gotta admire how dedicated they are. Although, I will give them a good talking to in regards to asking them to be a bit more humble towards you. Now, on to business… I could've taken you straight from the chamber of the gods to your next dungeon and then back, but there was something that I wanted to do first. You see, I took note of the items that you had the last time that you were here and I wanted to give them some upgrades!"

We were pretty surprised by this, but if it meant that they would become better than ever, then we were all for it. Zelda described that the other Zeldas were the ones who thought up the idea to do this, so all that we had to do was wait for it to be done after she took them. Unfortunately, this meant that in the meantime, we would have to deal with our practically rabid fans. Oh well, at least it was better than actually being enslaved…

I don't mean to reference any fans of this fic, or anything. That's just what I figure that the real Link would think if he met even half of his fans. *sweatdrop*Also, this time, their visit to this dimension is actually rather pleasant. YAY! I can't always have a massive amount of turmoil going on for them, can I? No, they deserve some time off. ^_^ Anyway, if you enjoyed this, then please review and have a Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday you celebrate). See you next week! :D
