Chapter 54: Approach

The day that we were to leave finally came! All that we three Links had to do was grab our items, and we would be set. Thankfully, everything went without a hitch, and we set off. Obviously, it would be weird for Zelda to only take the three lookalike hylians, so she grabbed a few others to come along for the ride too. I was hoping that the extras that she would take along would be humble and not 'fangasming' (as future Link once said it).

I could've sworn that Zelda read my mind, because the ones that she had picked were very humble. They rarely spoke to us, but at least they weren't bothersome. After all, the attention was kind of overwhelming. Sure, they made all three of us feel like we could conquer anything (which was pretty much true), but it still got a little tiresome in the end. Eventually, I became grateful that, although the ones she choose really liked us, they were still pretty reserved.

Zelda eventually told us that, yes, we would be going back to what was once Hyrule, but she only had a general idea of where we were headed. Obviously, not all of that land had been mapped, so all that we could do was hope that the terrain was decent. Eventually, though, we came across an area that looked even deader than most of the rest of the wasteland that used to be Hyrule. I didn't really know why at the time, but I began to feel a sense of dread creep into me. However, I soon discovered that the reason for this feeling came from our surroundings.

Zelda had taken us to a graveyard! Surely, we were just passing through. However, when the caravan that was holing all of us (Zelda really liked to be the one driving) stopped, I felt my stomach drop. I began to desperately hope that the dungeon wasn't there, of all places. Unfortunately, though, Zelda began to call for just us Links.

When we got outside, we saw that she had a very somber look on her face. It was then that I remembered that this one was also a descendant of hylian royalty. Therefore, the love that she felt towards all of the hylians that she met was incredible. Obviously, being in a graveyard for those whom were her ancestor's people was saddening, to say the least. Yet, despite all of this, she simply shook her head and motioned for the three of us to follow her.

When we finally got to the part of the graveyard that she thought we were supposed to be at, I noticed that it appeared to be nothing but a hole in the ground (it was actually a cave, but still). She then stated that she was not going to follow the three of us because she would just get in the way. I knew that she was also scared and that she wanted to get back to the other hylians, but I didn't say anything about that. Instead, I showed my respect to her alongside the other Links by simply bowing before she left. After she did so, the three of us turned around and I could see that future Link almost terrified, but determined to go through with this.

However, the one that lead us was the one that showed absolutely no fear of death at all: Slave Link.

Well, there it is. Not only did they get those really awesome upgrades, but they also got to approach the next dungeon. I'm pretty sure that it's quite obvious what the next dungeon's theme is, but oh well. :/ Either way, leave me a review and I'll see you all next week! :D
