Chapter 65: Chase

There had been no real time for me to actually say goodbye to the other Links. Similarly, there had been no time for the others to say the same thing. All that we could do was chase after the possessed men that had stood before us. I frantically chased after Ethan, not exactly sure what I'd do if I caught him. As I chased him, I couldn't help but think that he shouldn't be that fast, considering his size. However, he was continuously outrunning me.

My only choice was to lay a remote bomb and try to get him to loop back around towards it. It took a few minutes, but I eventually managed it. I made sure to detonate it just so that it would slow him down. After all, if I actually tried to kill the possessor, then I would also be killing the innocent Ethan. Now that was something that I desperately wanted to avoid!

With the smoke from the bomb obscuring the path, he actually stopped for a moment. If he would have stayed just a second longer, then I would have actually caught him! However, he actually jumped straight into the smoke and landed on the other side. I quickly followed him, but when I made it out to the other side, he was gone!

The smoke quickly dissipated, leaving me just standing there in a random corridor in the tower of the gods. Yet, I still looked around for about an hour more before I finally gave up with a huge sigh. I wasn't long before I realized that I was lost, but I kept walking around. I knew that I would find my way out soon if I just kept walking around.

While I did so, I couldn't help but think back to slave Link and what dark Link might've said to him the first time around. Sure, I heard the second one, but I knew that it wasn't enough to make slave Link that upset. After all, he's been through much worse. Heck, both knight Link and I had first-hand experience with the worst! After thinking about it for long enough, I came to the conclusion that slave Link simply didn't want knight Link and me to worry about it.

As I came to that conclusion, I found myself suddenly at the entrance of the tower of the gods. Therefore, I simply decided to leave. All things considered, the others had probably already left by the time that I had gotten there. So, I grabbed my things, loaded them onto the boat that had been sitting there, waiting for me, and I took off.
