Chapter 68: Fi
The boat ride back left me rather tired, but I still drove the rest of the way home as soon as I was on dry land again. It wasn't the best of ideas, but I still managed to get extremely lucky. Thus, it was just under a week before I was actually able to get home. When I finally got there, though, I was just way too tired. I had my Master Sword draped over my shoulder, when I was lugging some of my stuff inside.
In fact, I was so distracted with my other stuff that I completely forgot about the Master Sword. After all, I had gotten so used to it over time that it only made sense. Then, when I finally got inside, I didn't even make it to my bed. Frankly, I just straight-up collapsed on the couch!
I was surrounded by darkness. I didn't feel any sort of immediate dread, but it did somewhat frighten me. I felt safe, but not necessarily protected. I called out into the darkness to see if anyone was there, but no one answered. I figured that it had to be a dream. Then again, my dreams were never that vivid… except for when I got the zora mask, but that didn't count!
Suddenly, though, a bright light began to shine from above, blinding me. Eventually, I managed to make my eyes adjust to this new source of light. However, what I saw in the light truly confused me. It looked like some sort of mannequin, with its blue, glassy face. However, it moved ever so slightly, giving the impression that it was actually animate.
Thinking about how it looked, it kind of reminded me of the hilt of the Master Sword. Its legs looked like that handle, and its chest looked like the main part of the hilt. I honestly had no idea what this thing could have possibly been. However, it came to me almost immediately when it opened its mouth to speak.
"My sacred essence can once again be found within my vessel." A certain familiar, female, robotic voice said.
"When directed towards my origin, I will hold the power that I have been entrusted with… the skyward strike will slice the evil and save the innocent." I knew this particular voice to be none other than Fi! I struggled to remember some of the poems that the other Links and I heard when we were collecting the sacred threads. Eventually, I just decided to leave it be and try to ask her some questions.
However, as soon as I found myself able to speak, she was gone and nothing but darkness surrounded me once again. What a weird dream…
