Chapter 69: the Next Day
As soon as I got back to Hyrule Castle Town, I decided to go straight to the castle. After all, it wasn't exactly too late into the day and I wasn't exactly tired. Upon arriving at the gate, I saw Shaun's usual patrol buddy, Jacob. He looked at me and then asked if I needed to see the princess. When I told him that I did, he gave me the go ahead. However, he did stop me for a quick moment in order to ask me if I had seen Shaun anywhere.
Seeing his face, and the look of someone who had just lost his best friend, I wanted to tell him. I truly did, but I knew that I couldn't. I lied to him, telling him that I hadn't seen Shaun anywhere since I had left the last time. He then sighed and accepted my answer before just turning away and letting me go. I felt very sympathetic for him, considering that I had just had to give up my own best friends. So, I silently promised Jacob that I would save Shaun from whatever was possessing him, just for his sake.
When I finally did get in to see the princess, she was very happy to see me. I asked her if she knew about what had happened in the shrine of the gods. She responded saying that she did because one of the other Zeldas had told her. She then went on to ask me if I had had any weird dreams during the past few nights. As it turned out, I had.
I described a dream to Princess Zelda about a mysterious figure coming to me and talking about some sort of… 'Skyward strike'?
"I thought so… you see, just after the other two Links got back to their respective homes, they had pretty much the exact same dream. I wonder if there's any real reason behind it… I mean, of course there is, but what could the meaning be?..." She began to wonder. It was then that a soldier that I had never met before (there were quite a few, naturally) knocked on the door. When Princess Zelda told him to come in, he did so and began to tell the princess of her being needed elsewhere.
She told the soldier that she would be there soon, and then she turned to me. She told me that we would have to sleep on the matter and that she would tell me the next day. I figured that this would allow both of us to come up with very decent explanations, so I simply agreed and took off for my home. Exiting the castle, I saw Jacob still standing there, trying to look alert, but more or less failing. I truly felt sorry for the man.
The next day, I got up bright and early in order to see Princess Zelda as soon as possible. I got into the castle fairly quickly, and found myself in front of her within minutes. She seemed to have a smile on that indicated that she had figured something out. So, I just kept my mouth shut and let her tell me what she was thinking.
"All three of us spoke last night, and we think we might've figured something out."
Wait a minute... *gasp* next week is the last upload of Spirits of the Past?! Oh boy, will we find out anything more about those dreams? Well, I guess you guys are just gonna have to tune in next week, and find out! :O Also, leave a review, and, well, I always respond, so yeah. ;)
