Chapter 71: The Origin
The day after I had returned, I told Zelda about my really weird dream. It had been a little over a week since it had actually happened by that point, but it was still stuck in my mind then. The thing was that she had called me to a very secluded place in order to discuss it. Normally, she would come to my home and tell me whatever she needed to tell me, then she would give me some money so that I could make it for another couple of months. However, it became even weirder when she told me to bring the Master Sword!
Either way, though, I complied and met her in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but the Master Sword! Although, when I finally got there, I did get to see that she brought a couple of training dummies. I knew that she had to have been REALLY sneaky with taking them, so I had to commend her for that. Upon seeing each other, greetings were exchanged and we began to discuss what she had figured out.
"Okay, so it's pretty flipping obvious that just the name, 'skyward strike' means that this move has something do with the sky. Not only that, but we actually know how we're supposed to pull it off… *sigh* she said to point the Master Sword in the direction of her origin, right? Well, the other Zeldas and I think that her origin is the same as the Master Sword itself." I looked at the sword that I already had unsheathed, wondering just how much of a history it shared with Fi.
"You see, the way that she's worded everything so far suggests that her 'vessel' is actually the Master Sword, itself. Plus, a few months ago, she actually told you the origin of the Master Sword." I was pretty surprised, but I decided to just accept that Fi could be inside the Master Sword, simply because I had seen enough magic to know that damn near anything was possible. I also looked at Zelda in confusion because I didn't remember being told the origin of the Master Sword.
"It was when she recited one of those poems for you, a few months ago. Especially that line from the last one: 'A sword of masters long gone by, one that descended from the sky'. If we're right, all that you should have to do is point the Master Sword upwards and then something should happen." She told me. So, I complied and grabbed the Master Sword, lifting it up towards that sky.
I was under the belief that magic was impossible in my dimension. I was wrong. I could feel some sort of a force start building in the Master Sword, coming closer and closer to my hand. It became apparent that the reason that no one used magic was only because nobody knew how to anymore. As this force reached my hand, I heard a loud shing and I looked up to see that it was glowing.
To be honest, the way that it was glowing really reminded me of the time that I first found the Master Sword at the bottom of the sea! My gaze shifted from the sword to Zelda before I took it upon myself to try to slice one of the training dummies that she brought, in half. I expected it to slice cleanly through, but what I did not expect was the swirl of energy that came hurtling out of the sword at a very rapid rate! It went through the dummy and on to hit some plant life that I hadn't noticed was there. It cut down a lot of grass, but it also took down a small tree.
It didn't take me long to make an 'extreme lawn mowing' joke, although I had a feeling that Zelda didn't hear me. Yet, my concern was completely lost when the hilt of the sword began to glow with an insane radiance! As it began to glow brighter, I closed my eyes in order to stop it from blinding me. However, as soon as it died down, I opened my eyes to find nothing but darkness all around me. Eventually, I started looking around and I was very surprised to find both slave Link and knight Link there too…
