Sam, with the help of Cas, dragged Gabriel onto one of the motel beds.
"I swear it's like a hospital up in here." Dean cursed under his breath.
Sam shot him a hot glare before perching on the side of the mattress, keeping a watchful eye over Gabriel.
Dean took Cas by the arm and dragged him over to the other side of the room before actually saying anything, "Look, about what happened..." he rubbed his hand nervously against his neck, "I-I'm not-"
"Dean. I understand. You don't like men, you've made it perfectly clear to me." Castiel trained his eyes to the floor, rocking slightly on his feet. He was obviously bothered by this, but didn't say so.
"Cas, what the hell could you like about me?"
It was one of those moments where Dean didn't appreciate himself. Cas saw them a lot. He'd seen it when Dean didn't believe god had work for him, he'd seen it when...he'd been with Lisa. Dean never thought he was good enough for anyone. "You're brave."
Dean frowned, "Because I'm brave?"
"You're funny..."
"Cas-"
"You're handsome! You're strong! You never give up!"
Dean looked at Cas as though he'd been hit in the face.
"You try to save whoever you can! You're always looking out for everyone! You're-"
"Cas... you... really... Jesus."
Sam chipped in, "Dean, since Gabriel's out anyway do you think we could work on getting his grace back?"
Cas turned, "It's not like that, he has grace... its just been morphed. It's not angelic anymore."
"So what?" Dean started, "Crowley just muttered some magic yada ya over his grace and poof? Now we've got sir dicks-a-lot over there with no way of knowing how to fix this." he paused, "What did he trade to Crowley anyway?"
"Nothing." Sam shrugged. "He said Crowley just did it."
"Crowley doesn't 'just do' anything. There's always an angle."
Sam sighed, "I know."
Cas shook his head, "I think we should just summon Crowley."
After a short debate, and Gabriel waking back up, the gang decided they'd call the king of hell. Dean set to work painting the devil's trap underneath the crappy motel rug while Cas poofed out to pick up the necessary ingredients. It wasn't the first time they'd summoned Crowley, but it was still nerve racking none the less, and Dean growled every time he thought about risking Sammy and Cas's lives to help Gabriel. He and Gabriel didn't exactly get along afterall...
