Akira ran. She didn't know where she was running to, but she didn't care as long as she was far away from her home. 'How could this happen? Mom and Dad...dead? No...NO!'

She let out a sob, followed by rivers of tears. She kept running aimlessly, her tears blurring her vision. When she finally stopped to look around, she found herself at the Academy. She walked over to the small playground and sat herself under the roof of the small structure.

'Ring. Ring. Ri-'

Tenten picked up her cellphone and put it on speaker.

"Hey Tomomi, what's up?" Tenten asked, leaning on the couch.

"T-Tenten? I need your help. I don't know where Akira is."

Tenten looked at the others worriedly. "What do you mean you don't know where she is?"

"She jumped out her window."

"Why?" Ino questioned.

"We just got a phone call- our parents, they're d-dead."

"What?!" Sakura's surprised voice sounded throughout the room.

"Listen, can we t-talk about this l-later? I'm really worried about Akira."

"Don't worry Tomomi, we'll find her. You stay home and watch Isamu." Hinata glanced outside the window. "We'll have to hurry. It looks like it's gonna rain."

"Thanks g-guys."

"No prob. Call you later Tomomi. Bye."

"B-Bye..."

'Beep.'

Tenten looked at the girls, who were already ready.

"Let's go."

Akira strummed the guitar as she started to sing.

"Seems like it was yesterday when I saw your face
You told me how proud you were but I walked away,"

She thought about when she became an official Chunin. Her parents had told her how proud they were and offered to take her out somewhere to eat, but she had walked away, saying she was going to celebrate with her friends.

"If only I knew what I know today,
Ooh ooh

I would hold you in my arms,
I would take the pain away,
Thank you for all you've done,
Forgive all your mistakes."

She would thank them for everything they had done- and they had done so much. She would forgive them for all those times that they had done something wrong and ended up embarrassing her.

"There's nothing I wouldn't do,
To hear your voice again.
Sometimes I wanna call you but I know you won't be there,"

There really wasn't anything she wouldn't do to hear them call her name again.

"Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do,
And I've hurt myself by hurting you,"

She thought back to her Genin days. She couldn't do a certain jutsu, and she had blamed it on them, saying they were putting too much pressure on her, when in reality all they were doing was bringing her food and water, and wishing her good luck.

"Some days I feel broke inside but I won't admit,
Sometimes I just wanna hide 'cause it's you I miss,
And it's so hard to say goodbye when it comes to this, ooh, whoa..."

Gaara kicked a stray pebble as he walked down the road. He had decided to take to walk to clear his mind, but an image of her kept popping up in his mind.

Her silky purple hair, her sparkling black eyes, her-

Gaara scowled and hit his head. Why did he keep thinking of her? Who cares if she's really pretty, and awesome at Guitar Hero, and likes to hit Kankuro too, and makes his stomach twist into knots, and-

Gaara's eyes widened. 'Wow, I must be really stupid if I'm just figuring all this out now.'

He chuckled as he kicked another pebble. He liked her. He knew that she was much more than a friend to him. But would he go as far as to say he loved her?

'It's love at first sight.'

'Love at first sight, eh?'

He stopped in his tracks. Was that...singing?

"Would you tell me I was wrong?
Would you help me understand?
Are you looking down upon me?
Are you proud of who I am?"

He followed the beautiful, powerful voice until he found himself at Konoha's Academy.

"Where is she?!" Sakura yelled as she uprooted one of Konoha's many trees.

"Sakura! She's not gonna be under a tree!"

"SHUT UP INO!"

Were they looking down at her? Were they proud of who she was?

"There's nothing I wouldn't do,
To have just one more chance,
To look into your eyes and see you looking back,"

Gaara furrowed his eyebrows. Why was she singing this song?

"Oh, I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do,
And I've hurt myself, oh, oh, oh."

Gaara stared at her intently. What was she talki- singing, about?

"If I had just one more day,
I would tell you how much that I've missed you since you've been away,"

Who was she talking about?

"Oh, it's dangerous,
It's so out of line,
To try and turn back time,

I'm sorry for blaming you for everything I just couldn't do,
And I've hurt myself by hurting you."

As he walked towards her, he noticed that she was shaking. He quietly jumped up behind her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Akira?"

Akira's eyes widened, and, out of instinct, pulled out a kunai and aimed it at the arm of the unknown person.

Gaara's other hand shot out and grabbed her wrist before she had a chance to stab his arm.

"Akira, it's me! No need to stab me," Gaara said as he let go of her wrist.

Gaara's widened as she turned around to look at him.

'Why is she crying?'

"A-Akira?"

She let out a sob before throwing her arms around the boy. "They're g-gone! They're g-gone, a-and they're n-never coming b-back!"

Gaara just stood there, before wrapping his arms around the girl.

"Who's gone, Akira?" He asked quietly.

"M-My p-parents! They're d-dead, Gaara! D-Dead!" She choked out.

Gaara eyes softened. He looked down at the girl in his arms, before looking up at the sky. He blinked as rain stared to fall on the roof on the playground.

'My house is too far from here, and I don't know where Akira lives. Guess we're stuck here.'

The rain started to fall harder. Gaara returned his attention back to the sobbing girl. Her tears leaked through his shirt, but he didn't care.

"G-Gaara?" Akira whimpered, wiping her tears away.

He looked down Akira, who was trying to stop the tears from flowing out of her eyes.

"Hm?"

"I-I miss them a-already," Akira breathed out before bursting into tears once again.

Gaara hugged her to his chest, "I know, Akira. I know."

They stayed like that for a while, until Gaara realized that she stopped crying and her breathing had evened out.

He looked down at her sleeping form and smiled.

"Thank you...Gaara," she whispered in her sleep.

Gaara's heart fluttered. Yes, he would go as far as to say he loved her.

"Guys, we should go home!" Tenten called to the others. "I'm sure she's fine! She's a ninja!"

The others sighed.

"I guess you're right." Sakura said as she looked down at her clothes. She was drenched.

She followed the others as they started their long trek home.

Tenten chewed on her lip nervously as they skateboarded to school. They hadn't found Akira yesterday, and they were hoping that she would be at school when they got there. Right when they entered the building, they rushed to their home room.

They burst through the door and gaped at what they saw. Gaara and Akira were just sitting there, talking.

Tenten stared, grinning. She walked over to them with a noticeable bounce in her step.

She was almost there when a rose was shoved in her face.

She blinked. "Huh?"

She looked up and saw the last person she wanted to see. She snatched the rose out of his hand and scowled at it. "What do you want, pretty boy?"

Neji smirked. "So you think I'm pretty?"

She glared at him. "You wish."

He rolled his eyes. "Anyway, when should I pick you up?"

She raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me? There will be no picking me up-ing done by you, at all." She thought about what she said for a moment before nodding in affirmation. "Yeah."

Neji raised an eyebrow. "I can't let my date to the dance walk all the way here, now can I?"

"Now listen here, Hyuga. I am not going to the dance with you. You're just a stupid playboy who wants to get laid. You don't give a crap about any girls' feelings, and I am not going to be one of those girls. I'm not a stupid fangirl who wants to get laid by you. I'm just a normal girl that's not about to fall for you." She spat. And just to make her point clear, she threw the rose on the ground on stomped on it.

"Good day, Hyuga." She walked past him to her seat.

Pp1147: Hey! Okay, so I'm like sooo sorry for not updating last week, but I was...busy. I'm not very proud of this chapter, but, hey. Oh. My. Gosh. My friend..uh...you know what? I'm gonna give all my friends code names- that way, I won't give away my identity! Okay, so my friend Pencil is a stupid fudgetard. I was carrying my project, which is made of clay, and then he comes up behind me and kicks my foot! And then I turn around and he starts laughing. So then I'm like, 'You stupid fudgetard! I swear imam smack you.' So then he starts walking ahead of me and I kick his leg. I was very happy when he said ow. Yeah...

Oh, I just remembered! I realized that Gaara doesn't have eyebrows, so yeah... Just imagine he has some. As long as they're not like Lee's or Gai's, it's cool.
