Clove POV
The sound of raindrops pelting down on the roof of the car can be faintly heard over the radio blasting from the front seat. I watch as two raindrops race each other down my window, tapping the glass softly with my finger. The sun struggles to shine through the stormy rain clouds causing the city to look gloomy, unexciting and lifeless-a perfect portrayal of how I feel today.
I solemnly look over at my duffel bags, the one is filled with casual clothes, books and other junk while the other is stuffed with training gear. I'm not looking forward to going back to the academy; I just hope it's not as bad as last year.
From my view in the backseat I notice Chloe turn the volume dial down and glance at me through the rear view mirror.
"You ok?" She asks
"I'm fine, just nervous" I say as I brush my pony tail with my fingers. The only thing I can look forward to is seeing Cato more often now, I just hope he doesn't forget about me now that he'll be around all his friends. He is rather popular.
I gulp as Chloe turns into the parking lot of Victor's Academy, the grounds are crawling with children and adults, carrying bags and boxes towards the main entrance trying to avoid getting drenched by the rain. I notice a young girl running over to her friend, hugging her and then skipping hand and hand to the doors. I clasp my fingers together and think about how nice it would be to have a girl friend, one who you could share all your secrets and get into mischief with.
I pull up my hood before getting out of the car and pull out my bags, I hand one to Chloe and we hurry to get inside.
Cato POV
I give my parents each a hug before retreating into my new room with all my stuff to avoid the mass of people downstairs. I punch in my key code into the new lock system on my door and shuffle inside. The room is much nicer and spacier then the previous years. I have a nice modern living area, clean white walls with a black leather couch and chair sitting in front a large television parallel to a large window that takes up almost the whole West wall with a table and two chairs sit in front of. I have a nice view into the lawn, where lots of training happens and I can see the track in the distance. A small mini kitchen sits in the corner of the room that will probably stay unused for my whole year.
I peer into the bathroom and it looks similar to the one I had last time, just with a slightly larger mirror. I open the door to my bedroom and step inside. White covers the walls and floors, while accents of red are sprayed across the room. A single white bed with red sheets sits in the middle of the room, with a tall honey oak bookshelf standing beside it filled with the school books I'll need this year. A desk sticks out of the wall, with a lamp attached and a chair sitting patiently underneath. A red punching bad hangs in one corner of the room near the window and opposite wall is mainly a closet. A red carpet covers half the floor and I set my bags down on it and walk out into the living room.
I look into the mini fridge hoping to find a soda but it's empty. Sighing, I close it and turn around.
"Nice dorm" One of my favorite people in the world stands in my doorway, glancing around the room with a smirk on his face. Kaine. He's 15 years old, 6'1 and my role model. He excels in fighting with spears and mallets, and scoring with the ladies. He flops down on my couch, shaking his brown hair to the side so that I can see his bright green eyes.
"I missed you brother" I smile as I sit down on the chair near him, the supple leather molding to my body.
"Don't get all mushy gushy on me, Cato, I get enough of that with Claire" He scolds, waving his finger teasingly
"What happened to Olivia?" That was his girlfriend the last time I checked
"Eh, she got all clingy and I got bored" He laughs as his phone dings. He looks down at it and then stands up "Do you want to go hang with some friends of mine? We're going down to the weapons room"
"Sure, I'll meet you down there, I'm going to get all settled first" I say as I stand up
"Ok see you in a bit" He says as he walks out of dorm and down the hallway, closing the door behind him.
Clove POV
Chloe and I rush past the crowds and follow the signs to my dorm, it's on the third level. As we're walking down the hallway and guy with brown hair walks past us, winking at Chloe as he does so. I look up at her to see if she noticed and if she did she's not reacting to it at all. We turn the corner at the end of the hall and walk a couple more feet until we get to my room. I slowly type 1-3-0-1 into the screen and I hear the clicking of a door unlocking. Chloe opens the door and we walk in.
The living is the same size as last time, but brighter and nicer. White walls and white tile floors create the illusion of it being larger. A large tv sits on the wall to the right of me, with an off-purple L shaped couch facing it. Cabinets sit underneath the window, which gives me a perfect view of the courtyard, where kids sometimes like to hang out on days when it's not raining. A white mini kitchen with lime green counter tops is on the same wall as the door, with a bar sticking out of the wall in front of it. Two doors are on the wall to the left, one appears to be a bathroom and the other is my bedroom.
The white walls and white floors follow into the room, but instead of purple and green being the accent colour, blue is. A white single bed with a blue headboard sits in the middle of the small room, with blue sheets and white pillows. A white bedside table sits beside the bed, with a grey lamp on top. Two large white closet doors sit in the opposite corner of the room with built shelves next to it-half of them stocked with books. A window faces out into the courtyard, half hidden by tree branches, with blue curtains hanging on either side. A white desk sits on the one wall, with a roller chair perched beneath it. Multiple targets hang on the bare wall, with boxes beneath it.
"Well this should certainly do" Chloe says as she throws my bag onto my bed
"Yep, are you going now?" I ask as I gently place my bag on the floor
"Yeah, the teachers take account on how long family stays when we're dropping you off. To see how mature you are and stuff like that, so always conduct yourself appropriately. But the one thing they don't monitor is this" She pulls out a small box and hands it to me. I look at it suspiciously before opening it up, inside is a white smart phone, complete with a charger.
"Why do I need a phone, I'm not old enough yet" I say, she chuckles and smiles
"I know, but it's easier then sending letters and this way you won't feel so lonely. You can just send me a text if you need someone to talk to if you want" She gives me a hug and kisses my cheek before turning and leaving my dorm.
Ok so I'm really sorry for not updating like I said, I don't have an excuse except for being grounded for a month ;P. Please review, I know I don't deserve it but I love feedback and ooh do I like seeing reviews :3
