Here is the conclusion to Senshi Cosmos.
Thank you for your sweet patience.
Enjoy.
3 Months later. Earth.
Her scream filled the hallways and a servant quickened their pace towards it. The young girl pushed past the waiting group of people outside the chamber doors and pushed inside. It was intimidating to not meet their curious gaze but she had been given a task and she could not be deterred.
Usa quickly tried to suck in air, her face flushed red as pain rippled through her back.
"You are doing excellent," Elios smiled lovingly at her, his hand gripping hers as the other wrapped around her back.
"Oh you are just saying that because you feel awful!" Usa cried out then another scream ripped from her lips.
"Your mother would be so proud," he cooed lovingly at her and Usa felt a tear trickle down her cheek and she nodded tightly.
"My Queen, it is time to push," Amille grinned at her, a servant delivering her more water and towels and Usa gulped.
Three months ago she and her husband had ascended to the throne of Earth and the Milky Way. She was now about to give birth to the first heir born in over three thousand years.
"I love you Princess," her father's voice whispered into her ear and she felt his comfort wash over her as his hand touched her forehead.
"Daddy can't you take all the pain away?" She whined pathetically and he smiled adoringly at her.
"As I told your mother so many years ago, this is your punishment for only being able to have one," Endymion grinned at his beloved daughter and her eyes narrowed angrily at him.
"Push!" Amille cried and Usa let out another scream and pushed with all of her might. "One more time my Queen," Amille breathed and with one more cry Usa fell back against her husband's arms. "She's perfect," Amille breathed quickly checking the small babe out in her arms, her cry echoing around them. They wiped the tiny child off quickly and Usa looked anxiously towards her.
"Perfect just like you," Elios whispered as he lovingly kissed her temple.
"May I present the crown Princess of the Milky Way," Amille smiled gently placing the gurgling babe into her mother's arms. Usa let out a content sigh, her red eyes taking in the pale and fragile form in her arms, bright blue eyes blinking up at her.
"Hello Serenity," Usa whispered lovingly, her fingers trailing around her daughter's precious face. She felt her father kiss her temple once more and she closed her eyes in happiness.
"She looks just like her," Amille breathed with a small smile and Usa nodded happily.
"Except for the black hair," Usa laughed, gently touching the tiny curls. "Hi little Seren," Usa smiled. "We are going to have a great life together."
"Congratulations," Minet greeted and Endymion let out a breath, joy etched across his features.
"She is perfect," he soothed and Reilie grinned happily at him.
"How could she not be?" Reilie countered and he shrugged, contentment filling him.
"What happens now sire?" Litelle questioned and he glanced at the warrior. He understood her question perfectly. "Do we keep on doing this?"
"Are you happy?" He asked softly and Litelle let out a breath falling into a chair lazily, Amille walking into the room.
"I am. I am with the man I have always dreamed of, you are safe, your kingdom is safe… I feel I have finally gotten use to not needing to pick up a sword," Litelle breathed and Reilie smiled. "Is this not what she wanted for us?"
"Indeed it was," Endymion smiled. "It is what she wanted her whole life," he said with a nod as he let out a breath, his gaze going out the open balcony doors to the vast gardens below.
"I'm pregnant," Minet suddenly announced with a breath.
"What?" Amille snapped and Endymion turned to her with shock.
"You're what?" Reilie questioned, her mouth going dry when suddenly tears overtook her. "Oh my gosh!" Reilie gasped rushing to her oldest friend and yanking her happily into her arms. "I'm going to be an Aunt!" Reilie announced happily and Minet grinned, letting the fire warrior squish her.
"We should all try and have kids!" Litelle cried happily standing and Minet shook her head with a grin.
"Let's not get all drastic. It's just… a baby. A baby that won't be a Senshi. That will live a normal life," Minet said with a deep smile and Endymion smiled happily at her. "A normal life your wife granted for her," Minet breathed and Endymion nodded, her hand clasping his own and he squeezed her fingers tightly.
"What do I do Minet?" He asked quietly and the four women turned to their beloved King.
"Be the best grandpa and uncle the world has ever known," Minet whispered and he nodded tightly, Reilie wrapping her arms tightly around him.
"We are with you," she whispered and he nodded. "We understand."
"Sire," a voice said suddenly into the room and Minet blinked, alarm coming to her features.
"What is it?" Endymion questioned, concerned at the odd expression that flew across her face.
"We have an intruder," Reilie confirmed, her eyes meeting her beloveds as he stood in the door. His mind much faster than his mouth to his beloved. "South lawn," Reilie hissed turning towards the balcony doors. Endymion was already half way out of them and down the steps.
Jedite was at his side, unsheathing his sword as they turned towards the south entrance. In the distance they could see a figure on their knees, Kunzite and two of the Amazon Quartet surrounding them.
"Perhaps to find out info on the baby?" Endymion questioned his guard beside him and Jedite shook his head.
"No word spoken yet sire," he confirmed and Endymion stilled a few feet away. The intruder's back was to them, a dusty brown cloak covering their frame and a foreign sword held in Kunzite's hand.
"Who are you and how dare you come upon this land?" Endymion bellowed and the figure's head lifted, the hood of the cloak still guarding their identity. Without warning the figure stood and attacked at the Amazon Quartet first. The two were quickly disarmed and each fell to the ground with surprise. Endymion stepped back surprised and Kunzite attacked. The figure spun, quickly disarming him and taking his sword as well as their own. Endymion felt all of the air leave his lungs. He had never seen Kunzite disarmed. Who was this person?
"Forgive me King, but you are a hard man to reach."
Her voice was like heaven and he gasped. She pulled at her hood and her white hair tumbled out from two long braids. She spun one of the swords, her grey eyes staring into his own with challenge as a smile pulled at her luscious lips. She tossed Kunzite's sword in the air and he caught it quickly. He could hear Jedite talking to the others, telling them who the intruder was but he was already headed towards her, sword drawn.
She grinned happily and their swords clashed with a spark.
"Tell me she is well," Cosmos whispered as he pushed into her, her breath upon his cheek almost making him falter.
"They are perfect," he responded quickly and their swords clashed again and again with skill. She was flawless but he would expect no less from the universe's most powerful Senshi. She spun and pushed at him sending him into Kunzite's arms. Kunzite steadied him on his feet and Cosmos beckoned him forward with her eyes.
"Careful with that sword your majesty… I am only human," Cosmos smiled and he immediately dropped it, his frame charging towards her own. Her sword fell from her fingers and they crashed into one another. Her arms wrapped around him greedily as he clutched her to him, desperate to cement her presence.
"They told us you were dead," he hissed across her chin before his lips kissed her jaw. He heard rushed footsteps and he looked up to see Lunar and her old Senshi approach.
"One has to die for another to be born," she whispered quietly into his ear. He pulled back to look at her.
"What does that mean?" He questioned and she smiled lovingly at him, tears filling the bottoms of her eyes. He tried quickly to memorize her face when suddenly he noticed something was missing. His thumb reached up and touched her smooth forehead. Where was her symbol?
"I am mortal," she breathed with a small smile and he blinked. "A level two," she grinned, joy lighting her eyes. "I found a way to sacrifice my crystal so that I could have a granddaughter," she whispered and he looked at her with confusion. Gently her fingers touched his lips and she took in a deep breath of him. "There can only be two," she confessed and his arms tightened around her, the thought of having to choose between any of his girls devastating to his heart. "I have a good seventy years left in me my King. I will give them to you if you will have them," she breathed, her heart thumping loudly as his warmth continued to spread through her. "May I grow old with you?" She asked softly and a few tears escaped his eyes.
"It has been my deepest wish since the first moment I ever met you," he struggled out and she smiled brightly at him.
"I have no name, no power and no memories…" she warned and his hands quickly cupped her cheeks. His lips fell to hers and she drank from him desperately, her arms hooking under his to pull her as close to him as she could. When he pulled away his forehead pressed lovingly into her own.
"I have a name for you," he whispered and a tear trickled from her eye, her fingers clutching to him happily. "Would you like to meet your granddaughter?" He asked and she let out a laugh, throwing herself into his arms. He grinned catching her, his arms surrounding her tightly. "Welcome home Seren," he whispered into her ear and he heard her sigh of happiness. "My love, welcome home," he breathed again, his lips falling to her neck as they were immediately swarmed. He could hear her laughter as each of her guardians pulled her into their embrace. He watched as if it was a dream for a few minutes. This couldn't really be happening could it? He growled when he felt someone pinch his arm. He narrowed his eyes looking at Kunzite when a frame barreled into his sending him to the ground. He landed with a soft thud on the grass and he looked up to see a curtain of hair and bright gray eyes staring back at him.
"I'm pregnant," Minet announced happily and Seren gasped lifting her head to see the ex warrior smiling at her brightly.
"Excellent," Seren smiled then she glanced down at the King beneath her and lifted an eyebrow.
"No," he snapped and she grinned as he pulled them to their feet.
"Educational purposes of course," Seren tried and he shook his head, catching her chin in his hand.
"Come my love, let's not waste a minute of that mortality," he breathed against her lips and she melted happily into him.
"Indeed."
She tilted her head a bit to the left, her bright blue eyes taking in the large portrait before her. She let out a dreamy sigh as her chin fell into her pudgy hands.
"Serenity?" Her mother's voice broke into the air and she turned towards it happily. "What are you doing little one?" Queen Usa questioned with a smile, her crown glittering on her head and the small child looked up at her with affection.
"Talking with grandpa and grandma," she announced happily and Usa glanced up at the portrait and let out a breath.
"I see," she said gently.
"I miss them," Serenity announced sadly as she looked back at the giant life size portrait. "Do you think they miss me?" She inquired and Usa gently took a seat beside her, pulling her precious child into her lap. She glanced up at the aged portrait and she smiled. Serenity had been sneaking a lot into her father's private study lately. Of all the portraits she wished to look at, their last was her favorite. It was her favorite as well. They had aged gracefully, beautifully in her opinion and she placed her chin on her daughter's head of onyx curls.
"More than the stars precious," Usa replied. "They loved you deeply almost as much as your father and I do," she teased.
"Do you think I will be as powerful as she was? Can I save the universe like her?" Seren asked, excitement hitting her voice and Usa gulped a bit. Every time she touched her small child she felt her power surging through her. She was going to be stronger than herself and that thought made her nervous. But in many ways she was so much like her namesake… she was innocent, playful, loyal and determined to see the right in the world. Those qualities gave her hope.
"Would you like me to tell you her story again little one?" Usa offered and her daughter looked up at her with excitement. "Once upon a time there was a young Princess who loved her family very very much…"
