… Gerudo...

… Bombs...

… Darkness...

"AAAAHHH! Bandits! Bombs! … Poy? Ping?" I woke up with a start, in a strange new environment. Where the heck am I...?

I looked around me, and saw enormous trees and plants towering above me. I immediately recognized my surroundings. Was I in the... Pikmin world? I remembered this giant foliage around me that the Pikmin Universe had... but how did I get in the Pikmin Universe?

I looked to my left, and saw a boy who was fast asleep. It was a miracle that I hadn't woken him up with my outburst earlier... but he looked strangely familiar.

"... Alex?" I whispered to myself. I recognized the boy. His name was Alex.

Okay, quick recap. Remember how I said that I had visited the Pikmin Universe? Well, while I was there, I met a boy named Alex who had helped me while I explored.

… But what was he doing here? This was an entirely different Universe, so how did he manage to get here?

Maybe I should wake him up. I didn't really want to, but I wanted answers. I got up and shook his shoulder. "Hey, Alex!" I quietly said. His eyes slowly opened.

"...Aqua?" he mumbled.

Aqua was here too? I had also met Aqua, one of Alex's Pikmin friends, while I explored the Pikmin Universe. But if she was here, then where was she?

"No, not Aqua." I replied. Alex turned his head towards me, his eyes slightly drowsy, but they slowly brightened a bit.

"Oh, your awake Keith." he simply said.

At least he recognizes me, that's a start. Alex sat up.

"Sooo..." I started a bit awkwardly, "why are you here?" The question sounded a bit harsher than I meant it to be, but I was desperate for answers. Alex didn't seem to mind though, and he seemed fine with having to explain his predicament.

"Well, after you left," he started, "I created a machine that would bring me back to my home as well. I brought some of the Pikmin along with me. The machine malfunctioned while I was home, transporting Aqua and I to this world. Now me and Aqua are stuck here until we can find... whatever way we can to get out."

His story sounded simple enough. I decided to tell him how I got here, starting with detecting the Universe with a high amount of energy, and ending with me falling off the bridge in Gerudo Valley. I also told him about the darkness that Link told me about. When I mentioned the name "Link", I saw Alex's eyes slightly light up in recognition, but I dismissed it.

"...And now I woke up to find you." I finished, "So... where exactly are we?"

"A place that looks like the Pikmin world. After going through a bush, I found you falling into a river, so I dragged you back through here, into this world. Aqua... she jumped into the river to try and help Poy, but they were forced downstream. I hope they're okay..." Alex said with a worried look.

"Did you see Ping anywhere?" I asked him.

"Ping, the winged Pikmin? No, I didn't... Sorry. " Alex said, quickly adding a sorry when he saw my upset expression. "Anyways," Alex continued, "this Pikmin world is a lot different than normal."

"Different?"

"Well, I met Olimar," Alex said.

I remembered Olimar. He was very modest and selfless, always looking out for others.

"But..." Alex continued, "he... he changed. He tried to attack Aqua and I when we saw him. I think it has something to do with that darkness you mentioned."

"Olimar attacked you!?" I exclaimed. Knowing Olimar, it wasn't really like him to do something like that. "Odd... maybe it is the darkness Link mentioned..."

"Link..." Alex muttered.

"What is it? Do you know who Link is?"

"Yeah. Well, not personally, but he's from a video game." Alex explained.

"Really?" I didn't really know too much about video games. I DO like to play video games, but that was long ago... "Hey, isn't Pikmin a video game too?" I pondered.

"Hey, you've got a point. Maybe there are other places here based on video games...?"

We speculated this for a few minutes, trying suggestion, but never really achieved definite answers. Eventually, we just decided to explore around for a bit. Better to find out for ourselves what exactly was going on, right?

We ate some berries from a nearby bush, decided to set off and explore. Once, we heard Bulborbs and Pikmin fighting each other somewhere off in the distance. I wanted to go, but Alex reminded me what happened when he found Olimar and the Pikmin. After that, we made sure to stay away from wherever the noise was coming from.

We've been walking for two hours, and we noticed that the forest began to change. The foliage began to get smaller, until they were the regular size of a human. What stood out though, was the fact that there were banana trees everywhere.

"We must be in some different place now." Alex said, "We're definitely not in the Pikmin world anymore..."

*Squash*

I heard a weird sound, and turned my head to the left, and saw that Alex had... stepped on a banana.

"Ewww... now there's banana stuck on the bottom of my shoe..." Alex complained. I tried not to laugh. Oh, what I would give for a picture of Alex's expression right now...

"Ooh Ooh! Ooh OOH!"

Suddenly, we heard a peculiar noise off in the distance. They sounded like... monkeys?

"Looks like you angered some monkeys, Alex." I said jokingly.

Alex, on the other hand, didn't look so thrilled. After a few seconds, I started to get nervous too. The screeches of the "ooh ooh"s were getting louder, and those monkeys sounded pissed.

"Maybe we should, uh, leave." Alex said hesitantly.

"Um. Okay." I replied. We turned around to head back towards the Pikmin world.

That's when they jumped out of the trees.

Two large monkeys suddenly burst from the trees. One of the monkeys looked HUGE. And the huge monkey, odd as it seemed, was wearing a red tie saying "DK".

The other monkey, who was relatively smaller, was wearing a red hat and holding what looked like a wooden gun.

Neither of them looked happy.

"Run!" I yelled, and Alex and I sprinted back towards the Pikmin world. I heard the monkeys behind us giving chase, and the smaller monkey shooting projectiles at us with his wooden gun. Was he shooting... peanuts!?

We kept running, and eventually, we made it back to the Pikmin world, the large trees beginning to tower above us again.

We eventually stopped, and checked to make sure that we had lost them. It sounded like we did, as I couldn't hear the angry shrieks of those monkeys anymore.

Good. I'll gladly take rebellious Pikmin over psychopath monkeys any day. And Alex looked the same way too. Maybe those monkeys were also from a video game too? I'll ask Alex later. He'll probably know...

Here's to another chapter! Setting's a bit weird, I know, but Pikacrafter wanted it like that.

Reviews are always nice, either to this chapter or the other chapters made by kingalex and Pikacrafter.
