Point of View: Eli, Location: Unknown
"Why do I feel wind?" I wondered as I opened my eyes, I was greeted with the sky. "The hell?"
I sat up and got a good look of my surroundings and saw I was in a field yet again, but this was different. There was a cliff and a sunset in the distance. I got up and walked over to the cliff, I was stunned to see the blue sea. "Wow." I breathed, the waves crashed gently against the cliff walls down below as a light breeze blew through the area.
When I turned around I saw a somewhat familiar sight, a small town set a little ways from where I stood. On top of a hill sat a large building that had a windmill slowly turning, the building was white. A forest surrounded the entire area, and in the distance was a large mountain.
My eyes slowly widened as I remembered this place. "Pallet town!" I exclaimed, I was about to run over to it but was stopped as the ground in front of me disappeared and was replaced by a sheer cliff that looked way too deep for my liking. I looked back to Pallet town and saw it was in shambles, small fires rose from the small houses and a larger one from Professor Oak's. I could hear gunfire coming from the town as small explosions went off.
I was about to run and try to get over there before a voice stopped me. "Eli!"
I whipped around and saw a person about my age maybe younger decked out in rebel like armor, he wore a combat vest with a torn shirt underneath with elbow pads an orange Nike hat and jeans with white beat up tennis shoes, he held in his hands a brown lever action rifle. His expression was surprise as he ran over to me. "Eli! What are you doing here?" he questioned, looking around the place.
"Um what?" I asked, this guy was freaking me out a bit.
"You're supposed to be at the Pokémon center with _ did you forget!?" he yelled, clutching his rifle like he was going to lose it. "Did something happen?"
"Look, guy I don't know who you are or what the frik is going on. all I know was that I was sleeping and I woke up in this twisted version of pallet town." I explained as I heard something large explode. "So, yeah."
The guy shook his head like what I said was incredibly stupid. "How could you forget a mug like mine?" he said, gesturing to his face. He had a light beard, and his eyes were covered behind sunglasses. "I'm_"
"What?"
He sighed. "I'm _" he said, emphasizing his name, which I didn't hear.
"What the hell man, is this Pokemon or Kingdom Hearts?" I wondered, remembering the second KH game and how the Nobodies stole the word 'Picture' "Um cool, I'm calling you guy."
He was about to say something before the woods next to us exploded sending splinters and large chunks of wood in our direction, along with fireballs. A huge chunk hit me in the head and knocked me to the ground, the pain was immense!
"Oh shit!" I yelled, holding my head. I could feel blood starting to run.
I also saw guy aim his rifle and started firing towards the woods at something, I saw several people walk out of the woods at a slow pace, some of them shambled and while the others were hunched over and they held Submachine guns in their hands.
Guy fired his rifle but only managed to take down a couple before getting pounced on by a weird looking rat thing, it started to rip into him tearing out chunks of flesh. I was about to help him before getting tackled myself, I looked and saw a Pikachu, with blue eyes. "Pikachu?" I breathed, her body was mutated and a weird worm thing was latched onto her back, she looked me in the eye and muttered something unintelligible before she exploded.
I woke up and shot up in my bed nearly knocking Pikachu into the floor, she yelped and looked all around before setting her bright blue eyes on me. "Pika?"
I shook my head before looking at her. "I-I'm alright, I just had a nightmare is all. I'm sorry if I startled you."
She waved her paw as if she was saying, no problem. But then she sat down in front of me and said. "Pika pi, chu pika?"
I had to take a wild guess. "My dream?" she nodded. "Well, I woke up near a cliff overlooking the sea. It was an amazing sight."
"Pi Pikachu." She said, nodding.
"So, when I stood up I looked all around and I saw a town, Pallet town." I saw Pikachu's face go from mild interest to major when she heard, so I continued. "And, I was going to run over there but the ground in front of me disappeared and the entire landscape was replaced with a war-torn one." I shuddered, what happened. "All of Pallet town was on fire and some kind of war was going on or something."
She whimpered, but didn't stop me. "Someone ran up to me and apparently knew me, but I didn't know him. He told me his name but I couldn't hear it for some reason, and I was about to ask him something but we got attacked."
"Pika?"
Guess she asked by what. "He got attacked by some kind of mutated rat and as for me." I looked her in the eyes. "You attacked me."
Pikachu's eyes widened as she jumped up and hugged me tight, I held her as she started speaking. "Pika Pi Pikachu Pi Pika!"
"I know you wouldn't attack me…" I then whispered in her ear in a tone I've never heard before. "You would lose." She looked up at me before I snapped her neck and tossing her lifeless body to the floor.
***Real World***
"Shit!" I yelled, shooting up out of bed again. "Double nightmare, I hate those!" I looked all around before punching myself in the gut, immediate regret! "Okay, I'm awake." I muttered, holding my now aching stomach. "Stupid move on my part."
I shook my head to rid myself of the sleep and got up, stretching my limbs in the process. Pikachu wasn't in bed so I guess she was somewhere in here, unless she left. "I would hope not." I then went about my daily routine, took a bath, brushed my teeth, took a dump, etc.
After all that I went into my living room and Found Pikachu sitting on the couch watching a show called Merlin, she was I think ogling all over the main character. I leaned on the door frame with my arms crossed. "Hey, what's up?" I asked.
She looked over at me with a smile. "Pika!"
Having no idea I nodded and sat down beside her, my thoughts were plagued by that dream. Who were those guys, and what happened. And how did that kid know me? I shook my head. "Just a dream, doesn't mean anything." My eyesight drifted to Pikachu, technically she wasn't supposed to exist but here she was, sitting on my couch watching Merlin. What if my dream is something, if so then…
"Pika?" She muttered, going over to the window.
"What's wrong?" I asked, standing up.
Pikachu's ears twitched, she acted like she heard something. I went over to the window and lifted it up as she poked her head out. "Be careful." I warned.
She listened around with her ears for something, but I couldn't tell what. Then the sounds of sirens filled the air from far away, Police?
I looked out the window and saw smoke in the distance, looked like it was coming from one of the restaurants near the edge of the town. Uh oh. "There's a fire!" I exclaimed, great, another one.
"Pika!" she cried, pointing down into the street. I looked down and saw that guy from before, Nick! I ran over to the door grabbing my jacket gesturing for Pikachu to follow. "Pikachu chu pi?"
"We're going to get some questions answered, I'm sick of all this crap that's happening." I stated, leaving with Pikachu in tow.
We descended the stairs until we reached the lobby and again as usual, Barry wasn't there. I almost tripped on that bottom step as I made my way over to the front doors, so I gripped the handles and pulled them open. A blast of cool air hit me making my hair fly back a little, I bet I looked epic. Pikachu stood beside with a small grin as we stepped outside and went after Nick.
Point of View: Third, Location: Outskirts of Eli's town.
In the forest surrounding Eli's small quaint town sat a large solid black van, how not weird. It was about as big as a UPS can, but five feet longer and three feet wider with tinted windows. The cab was empty but in the back sat several men and women dressed in Black suits.
Their suits base color was black with the secondary color being dark grey taking on a hazard mark shape on the right upper side of their chests, the lower part of their bodies were black with a smaller hazard mark on the hips of their pants, their feet were covered in combat boots and their heads were shrouded in dark grey cowls and tight fit gas masks around their mouths.
The tallest one was watching a monitor that had an image of Eli on it running after one of their client's informants, Nicolas Carventes. "What is he doing here?"
"Should we inform the boss?"
"He's not our problem, he's expendable." A female said, donning the female version of the uniform. She was the squad leader for this op. "We're here to begin phase one of the distraction."
She turned around and walked over to the back of the van and opened a cabinet, inside of the cabinet contained clear vials and the inside of the vials had two small tubes that went from the top to the bottom in a spiral pattern, they contained a light blue liquid that glowed slightly. "Is that the-" one member started before being cut off.
"Yes, the T-Virus." she then grabbed a small sliver steel case about as big as her palm, "and this is the Purge virus." she put the T-Virus down and opened the small case, inside were several small three inches long vials containing a the Purge virus, it was dark purple and looked like it was glowing.
"I thought it was destroyed in Raccoon by that kid?" the rookie questioned.
The female smirked. "Some was, but not all. We have just enough to replicate the Virus." she said, taking out an injector gun and extracting the Purge Virus, she then injected it in into the T-Virus causing it to turn an ungodly red/purple. "Take this and inject it into the specimen." She ordered.
The grunt nodded and took the injection gun from her and went over to a small shelf containing several small cages, one which contained a small purple rodent, a Rattata. It looked up at the grunt in terror as he opened the cage and grabbed the Rattata by the scruff and brought it outside, the grunt held the Rattata down as he injected the Purge/Tyrant-Virus into the poor creature.
It yelled out for help but none came, the grunt then let him go and kicked the Rattata making him run away into the forest. The Virus slowly but surely rampaging through his little system causing an already uncontrollable mutation, hell was about to reign upon Eli's town.
Back with Eli
Eli had broken into a light run as Pikachu ran beside him. Now, maybe you're wondering 'Why in the heck are they running out in the open?' well, Eli couldn't care less, people around here are kinda stupid. They'd probably think Pikachu was a yellow cat or something.
Eli had trailed Nick through the empty streets to a small warehouse on the outskirts of the town, and it looked like a dump, the warehouse was old and covered in growth. One of the shutters was halfway open while the others were rusted shut. An old chain-link fence went around the place, with some parts of it rusted off, grass over grew the place by about four feet.
Eli stared at the place for a long time before crawling through a hole in the fence, Pikachu trailed behind him prepared to take on anyone who might hurt Eli or herself.
Eli stood up and jogged to the open entrance, his footsteps muffled by the tall grass. Pikachu bounded through the grass jumping up high so she could see where she was going.
When Eli reached the entrance he knelt and checked under the door, making sure there was no one he went inside.
The inside was pretty, dark. The windows were smashed out and several old crates were stacked haphazardly around the place just waiting for a slight breeze to blow them down on top of someone. There were some old doors to the far right boarded shut, wonder what's behind them.
Eli spotted Nick sitting on an old tire with a backpack sitting next to him, Blaze sat by him with one eye lazily open. Eli and Pikachu sneaked behind some crates and tiptoed until they were right behind them, Nick was talking so Eli listened in.
"This town really blows, there's nothing fun to do. Plenty to do in back in Vegas, remember that blaze?"
"Yeah." he replied.
"Yeah, they really did not expect a fire-breathing dog to come rampaging through Caesars palace." He laughed out, "good times."
Blaze laughed as well, "That was pretty fun wasn't it?" he replied, sitting up and stretching a bit before laying back down.
Nick sighed as he leaned back. "What's your opinion of that kid Eli?" he asked. Eli's ears perked up at the mention of his name.
"Eh," he started, "I don't see what's so great about him. Why do those Lily guys want him anyway?"
"Some kind of crap about his Aura or something, he's Aura is special somehow."
"What are we going to do after this town Nick?" Blaze asked seriously, looking him straight in the eye.
Nick sighed heavily as he stood up. "No clue Blaze, no damn clue." He then started to slowly pace around in a circle. "We could go back to Vegas, but we need money and this town ain't exactly got the amount we need."
"Why does he need so much money anyway?" Eli wondered. He was about to try and get closer but ended up stepping on a conveniently placed bubble wrap, it echoed throughout the warehouse and Eli swore it was the loudest possible thing in the entire freaking universe.
Nick and Blaze quickly got into fighting positions at the sound, Eli cursed silently as Pikachu shot him a look that said 'Really?' Eli came out from behind the crate with Pikachu, surprising the duo.
"What the hell?" Nick started, "What are you doing here Eli?" he asked, fists clenched.
Eli raised his hands in defense. "Let's not fight please, I just want to talk."
Nick glared daggers at Eli while Blaze doing the same to Pikachu. "About what?" Nick asked.
"I don't think you were telling me all you knew back there, I think you're holding out."
"And what makes you think that?"
Eli smirked a little. "I've seen your type before. You go around and steal to survive cause you've been on the run, what are you? An orphan or did you run away from home," Nick spat on the ground in anger but otherwise didn't say anything, "and I think I'm right, you're from Nevada aren't you?"
"You don't know anything about me." Nick responded coldly, "and I'm not an orphan." he added quietly.
Eli heard it and shook his head. "I know plenty about you just from looking at you." Eli stated calmly. "You think I got it any better?" he asked. "I don't, I really don't. I started out just like you Nick, but I didn't have any family. I grew up in an orphanage without knowing who either of my parents were or why they abandoned me."
Pikachu stood by, listening to every word. "Eli."
"I got picked on the whole time I lived there by every one of the kids, I hated it…" he held up his right hand showing a rather thick watch band. "You think I wear this just for looks?" he took it off, showing several small thin scars crisscrossing over his wrist. "I thought about taking my life several times, it's not like anyone would miss me or anything. I almost did as you can see." He put the band back on. "Stupid." He muttered.
Pikachu eyes had started to water a bit as she continued listening.
"Most of the kids told me to go ahead and kill myself, but I decided not to give them the satisfaction." He looked over at the window before looking back over to Nick. "I ran away, determined to find a way to live a better life and I guess I found it here." he gestured to the area. "I lied and stole to survive just like you. I lied my way into a job to support myself, and I live in a crappy apartment building with barely enough food and money to survive. And on top of all that I have some evil organization after me because of my Aura and Pokemon are real somehow."
He looked over at Pikachu and smiled a little. "I do not hate it at all either, Pikachu became my first friend and I'm glad I met her." he looked back to Nick who had a neutral expression on his features. "And I can see you have the same kind of relationship with Blaze, he's the only one you got right?"
Nick looked like he was about to say something before the sound of a window smashing interrupted them, startled they both turned their heads towards the noise and saw a Pokémon!
"Rattata?" Eli exclaimed, looking at the small purple rodent.
"What's it doing here?" Nick murmured.
The Rattata looked at the humans and Pokemon before him and he didn't know what was happening to him, he had to warn them! He started for them but stopped when he heart started to beat faster and faster until he fell to the floor writing in agonizing pain. The Virus had started its work.
Eli was about to rush over, if Pikachu hadn't stopped him. He looked down at her and asked. "What are you-" She held up a paw and pointed to the Rattata, Eli glanced over at it and saw its eyes were changing color, a bright red. "What the hell?" Eli started.
The Rattata started twitching violently and screeching at the top of its lungs, its head started to bulge along with its body until it stopped moving.
"Uh, Okay what th-" Nick was about to say before the Rattata started to… evolve?
Its body was getting bigger but there was no evolutionary light change, its body rippled until its muscles started to rapidly grow out of control, and its tail grew about six feet and the tip changed into something resembling a blade. It mutated and grew out of control until it became about thrice its original size. It was a horrifying sight to behold.
Eli and Pikachu, along with Nick and blaze backed up as fear started to take its hold on the group of four. "Oh my god." Eli muttered, what had happened to the small creature that was there before?! "What the hell just happened to him?!"
"Holy shit!" Pikachu exclaimed, she started to spark as she got in front of Eli. "Get back Eli!"
"Blaze! Get ready!" Nick ordered, pulling out small lead pipe.
Blaze got in front of Nick and stood ready should he be given an order to attack. "Alrighty then."
The mutated Rattata stood in front of them with glazed over red eyes, its elongated jet black claws clicking against the floor.
Eli reached into his pocket and pulled out his pocket knife and held it with shaky hands. "What do we do?" he asked no-one as the Rattata charged with an ungodly roar.
A/n Dustchu: Well, here's the next chapter, yes I know it's rather short but I'm not really feeling well today and I can't think for this story. I keep getting stuck on it like a freaking n00b! I'll try and get more written but I think I may take a little break from this to work on some others so I can replenish my writing stores for The Discovery. I haven't given up on this story I'm just not feeling it. If I left this story in the dust then Hope would have been planned for nothing!
And some things, Who was that character at the start? What happened to Pallet town! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THESE DUDES AND THE RATTATA!? I know, but you don't. *evil laugh.*
