"War is peace, freedom is slavery, Ignorance is strength." – George Orwell, 1984

"Holy shit!" Eli sputtered out in terror as he dodged another attack from the Rattata, but just barely as the Rattata's claw nicked his arm.

After Eli Pikachu Nick and Blaze had gotten ready the Rattata charged and made the four split up, Nick ran over to a stack of crates while Pikachu ran over next to where Blaze hid which was a fallen beam of sorts.

Eli however was the unlucky bastard being chased. "Damn it," he swore. "Why me!"

Nick watched from behind as Eli dodged each attack from the mutated Rattata and almost getting nicked each time. He was barely dodging every attack, from claw swipes to the Rattata smashing its tail against the floor creating small tremors that knocked everyone off their feet.

Eli couldn't keep this up long, while he had impressive stamina he couldn't hold out forever.

Pikachu saw him getting gradually slower with each movement. She sparkled her cheeks to build up a charge.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Blaze screamed at her.

"I have to help Eli," she yelled to him, almost drawing the Rattata's attention to them. "And you're not stopping me!"

She ran out from cover and charged the Rattata head on.

Kid's going to get herself killed,he thought. Damn it.

Blaze ran out with her, preparing an attack of his own. Pikachu saw him ran beside her readying a Flamethrower. She smirked. The two charged the beast head on and once they got close enough Pikachu used her strongest Thundershock while Blaze shot out his flamethrower in hopes of cooking the monster. The creature roared, whether it was in pain or anger the two didn't know.

Eli saw Pikachu and Blaze using their attacks on the Rattata, they were giving it their all. He looked over at Nick and yelled, "Help out!"

"Shit," He muttered. If Blaze hadn't gotten mixed up in this he wouldn't do a thing. He got up brandishing his pipe as he ran over to them. "do you have a plan or are you just lonely?!"

Eli said, "Attack the thing while it's down!"

Nick saw the beast had indeed fallen to the floor, and it left a small crater. Its body was twitching violently as it tried to get back up, but the efforts of both Blaze and Pikachu kept it from moving about too much.

Nick charged a well, raising his pipe slightly.

Eli and Nick as soon as they near the Mutated Rattata attacked it. Eli drove his knife into the beast's skin but snapped upon impact. Nick hit the beast with his pipe. It bounced off with a loud clack. The shock ripped through his arms, forcing him to drop his weapon.

"Damn it!" Nick swore, he stumbled back and nearly lost his balance.

Eli looked at the handle of his knife, it was broke all the way down to the hilt. Shit,he thought. He looked back to the beast and saw it was getting back up, it swung its massive tail hitting both Blaze and Pikachu sending them crashing into the far wall.

"Run, Eli!" Nick yelled as the Rattata moved its eyes towards Eli and pretty much locked onto him, the poor sod.

Not wasting time Eli ran away as fast as he could. He ran over to Pikachu, dodging wild claws along the way. He scooped her up in his arms held her tight to his chest. Eli looked back and saw the beast charging at him with an ungodly roar, he didn't know why but everything went in slow motion as he saw the thing charge. Using the advantage he rolled out of the way just as the creature collided with the wall sending powerful tremors throughout the building, almost bringing it down.

Eli sprinted away from the downed beast over to where Nick and Blaze had hidden. Needless to say, Nick didn't like them coming over. But for now he didn't really care. Not with that massive monstrosity on the loose.

"What do we do now genius?!" Nick asked in a whisper, gesturing to their current situation they were in.

The gargantuan Rattata was dazed slightly as it recovered from its collision with the wall, it sauntered back before glancing around for its now missing prey only to roar in anger as it didn't see them. Using its heightened sense of smell it began sniffing the air for any trace of the humans.

Eli had to come up with something. Granted he didn't like this Nick character but he was right, now what? He chanced a look out from their hiding place, the Rattata was pawing around some boxes on the other side of the room, pushing them aside and knocking over the ones that were stacked.

This isn't good,he thought. There isn't much cover in here, and we have no way of attacking the thing without getting our asses kicked. Looking down, Eli saw Pikachu gripping onto his pants leg. Her eyes boring into his with worry.

An idea came to mind, Eli felt somewhat stupid. They had Pokémon with them, why not use them to their advantage? Leaning over to Nick he said, "Okay, I have a better Idea."

"What now?" he asked, rolling his eyes.

"Just listen dumbass, let's use Pikachu and Blaze to take it down."

"What?!" he exclaimed in a harsh whisper, what was Eli thinking? "You want to attack that thing with them?" he asked, gesturing to Blaze and Pikachu with his thumb.

Eli nodded. "Look, my knife broke and that pipe didn't work, but their attacks did!" he told him, remembering Pikachu and Blaze's attack taking effect when their conventional weapons didn't. "All we have to do is use their best attacks on it and we'll totally defeat it!"

"You're crazy Eli, I'm not putting Blaze in danger like that!"

"Would you rather he died?" Eli asked Nick, his face natural as he looked at Nick. "Cause if we don't find a way to take that thing down we will all die here, is that what you want to happen Nick?"

Nick bit his lip as he looked at Blaze, Blaze's eyes had a fire in them, they told Nick he was willing to battle the beast if it meant them getting out of here. Nick turned back to Eli and said. "Alright then, how are we going t-"

"ATTACK!" Eli bellowed as he and Pikachu charged out from behind the boxes towards the creature, Pikachu sparking like crazy as she ran alongside Eli. Both determined to kick ass.

Blaze and Nick face faulted. "That's his Plan? CHARGE IT!?" He yelled in disbelief. He looked over at Blaze and groaned. "Oi, let's go Blaze."

Blaze nodded. "Right."

Eli and Pikachu, along with Nick and Blaze skidded to a stop as the Rattata turned around and bellowed at them. They stood unfazed as they called out their attacks.

"Pikachu, use Thundershock!" Eli called to her, pointing at the Beast with his forefinger.

Pikachu gladly acknowledged him, powering up and charging up an attack she built up just enough and once she did she let it out. With a loud and determined battle cry. Her Thundershock arched off the floor and hit the beast causing it to convulse before roaring once more.

Nick decided it was his turn as he yelled out. "Blaze, Fire Fang!"

Blaze grinned as he built up flames in his maw that eventually began to cover his fangs, the heat was so intense Eli could feel it. Nick had felt it numerous times so he could handle it, quite a bit. Blaze then charged, using his agility he dodged the Rattata's Claw and once he got close he leapt into the air and bit down hard on the creature's neck.

The Rattata roared once more as it started thrashing around as the fire started to spread from its neck to its head, the fire was intense and its flesh had started to change from its faded purple color to a charred black.

Pikachu let up on her Thundershock a bit so that she wouldn't accidentally fry Blaze in the process, she didn't need to kill him… unless he did something that pissed her off that is.

The beast swung around, trying to dislodge the fire-type but to no avail. He held on, his fangs sunk deep into the Rattata's skin. Odd, how was it that a knife didn't work but fangs did? Enraged it charged towards the two humans in an attempt to pound them into mush. Eli grabbed Pikachu and leapt out of the way as Nick rolled out of the way just as the Rattata ran past him, leaving massive claw marks in the floor. Nick recovered and shot up onto his feet and yelled to Blaze. "Blaze! Get off now!"

Blaze let go and using his agility he leapt off and ran back to Nick, blood covered his maw and blood trailed down his chin. The four took their stances as they continued to fight against the mutant creature, hopefully they would win.

The individuals who let the mutated Rattata loose were keeping a close watch on it. Conveniently the virus they injected it with also had a tracking chip, which made the task of keeping tabs on it all the more easier. They followed the signal to an old dilapidated warehouse where according to their scanners and equipment a small battle with the beast was taking place, it was too good to be true. They could get both the information on the beast's brain waves and its attack power and patterns.

They sat outside the warehouse in the van, recording all of the information they could. They were getting quite a lot of it. Two of the individuals went up to the building and set up a camera looking in through the window for video evidence, they had to document everything.

"How much are we getting?" the co-head of the squad asked, she was sitting in a chair with her knee over draped over her leg in a bored manner. She was glad they were getting something, but still. She wants to shoot people, not record shit.

"A lot ma'am, like, a lot!" a grunt exclaimed, watching lines upon lines of data on a computer. They were small and bright green, numbers and letters all jumbled together in an intricate code that only the minds a genius can understand. "The heads back at HQ will shit their pants when they read this!"

"How interesting." The co-commander rolled her eyes. She wasn't in the mood for nerd talk, she was more concerned on where the captain went. Listening to these eggheads talk bored her immensely.

Outside the van, the captain was standing as still as a rock. She was listening to the battle that raged within in the compound, the ungodly roars of the Rattata made her shiver in excitement. If there was one thing she loved it was these monsters and their ferocity, it was beautiful.

But, also on the inside she heard other Pokémon calls, a Pikachu and a Growlithe and people shouting commands. There were other Pokémon here? "Interesting, I do hope we can salvage their bodies once the beast is through. I want to play with their bodies." She wished, nothing but ill intent filled her mind.

Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of an engine approaching from behind, turning around she saw a black SUV drive up to her. The windows were tinted black s she couldn't see who was inside, or what. The window rolled down reveling nothing but darkness. "What is the status of the test subject?" a distorted voice asked.

"It's tearing the place apart, sir," replied the co-commander. "Also, four unlucky souls are inside the building, two are human and the others are Pokémon."

The distorted voice hummed, "So there are other Pokémon in this world? Excellent," then he asked. "How long has this battlebeen going on?"

"About an hour sir," replied the egghead. "The test subject is performing perfectly. We're getting a sizable amount of both the creature's brain wave readings and its attack patterns and power. We got lucky."

"Once the humans are dead, dispose of the subject using whatever means necessary," then he added. "Capture the Pokémon if possible, they'll be great test subjects for the new virus strain.

She stood there watching the SUV leave and once it did she turned around and walked towards the Van in a calmly manner, she will have to hope she can get her hands on those Pokémon, and maybe one of the humans. "That would be fun."

"Holy crap, just how much can this thing take?!" Eli complained. He watched as Pikachu pump out whatever electricity she had left into the beast.

They had been fighting the thing non-stop but their attacks only scratched the surface. Cuts, bruises, burns and so on covered it. But it kept coming. Blaze wasn't faring well either, he had used up all of his power. His legs were ready to give out underneath him. He panted heavily with exhaustion.

"Damn it all," Nick muttered. He looked at Blaze, then back at the beast. Things were not looking well for the four. Frustrated, Nick yelled to Eli, "Our Pokémon are completely drained! Now what!?"

Before Eli could reply, a piece of rebar fell from above. He yelped, jumping back a brief second before it plowed into the floor. It stuck up like a spear, its end serrated and gleaming exposed steel. Eli stared at it for a moment, then lit up. "Okay, new plan!"

Nick didn't ask, he just listened.

"Follow me!"

Eli ran toward the wall, Nick with Pikachu and Blaze followed him. Eli cupped his hands and screamed at the Rattata. "Oi! Over here ya wanker!"

Everyone face faulted. Thatwas his plan? Nick walked over to Eli and yanked his sleeve collar. "What is your problem!?"

Before Eli could answer, the Rattata came charging at him. Its eyes red with rage. Eli jumped up and kicked Nick out of the way as the Rattata leaped. The beast crashed into the wall. Pieces of rebar and concrete fell from the ceiling hitting the giant's back. It flinched and roared in pain.

Oh,Nick thought. That was his plan, he wanted to bring down the entire building over the Rattata. Oh sh*t, this is gonna suck.

Nick ran over to another wall and called out to the Rattata. "Hey, over here ya lug!"

The creature whipped its head toward his direction. It roared, then charged. Its claws digging into the floor, kicking up chunks of concrete with each step. Just as it neared, Nick jumped out of the way. The beast plowed into the wall, it crumbled like shattering glass. The foundations began to creak and groan.

Eli smirked as Pikachu and Blaze caught on.

Pikachu and Blaze ran over to the last wall and let loose a double-attack: A thunderbolt/ flamethrower combo that soared through the air, combining into one thunder-filled blaze. It hit the Rattata head on, causing it to flinch and stumble. It shook off the attack and charged. This time more slowly, it limped on one leg as it struggled to cover the ground between it and the duo.

Pikachu and Blazed dodged the attack. It plowed into the final load-bearing wall. Grass shattered. Support beams snapped like toothpicks. The warehouse was caving into itself.

"RUN!" Eli screamed. He grabbed Pikachu and dashed for the exit. Nick and Blaze followed closely as pandemonium rain down around them.

The Rattata climbed back up and gave chase. It limped and wheezed through the crumbling warehouse. It couldn't keep up, its injuries were too vast. A long piece of rebar fell and impaled the beast through its back. It threw its head back and gave one final roar, then surrendered to its grizzly fate.

The warehouse was crumbling fast, really fast. Stacked crates started falling from above nearly crushing Eli and his crew as they pushed themselves toward the exit. They ran and ran and once they got to the door Eli jumped up and kicked it open, the door shot open on creaky hinges and everyone spilled outside.

After crossing the street, Eli tripped at the curb. He threw Pikachu aside and collapsed, then Nick and Blaze collapsed on top of him in a massive pileup.

Behind them the warehouse's roof caved in and pulled its outer shell inward. The entire building imploded, shooting up a brown column of debris and asbestos into the sky.

The individuals outside took this chance to drive away fast, after packing everything up they threw the van into drive and sped away. The leader was beyond pissed off, those kids took down the beast? Damn them to hell, she thought. The boss will not be pleased about this.

Eli climbed back to his feet, he brushed himself off before looking over at the building and saw it was nothing more rubble. Smoke had started billowing out into the sky, Eli thought he smelled gas.

Nick and Blaze got up and flexed their muscles. Eli bent down and picked Pikachu up, she buried her face against his chest and rested. Nick and Eli turned back toward the destruction and watched for any signs of movement. Five minutes passed and there was no signs of the Rattata. They all breathed a collective sigh of relief, then sat down on the curb.

Nick ran a hand through his hair only to pull it away, his hand was sticky with sweat and some blood splatter. He wiped it on his pants and looked up toward the sky. "Damn."

"You could say that again," Eli voiced, shaking his head. "What the hell happened to that Pokémon?"

Nobody answered. Eli turned to Nick and asked, "When we were in there, you said something about those 'lily guys', who were you talking about? Did they have something to do with this?"

Nick looked confused for a second before remembering the order, did they do this? "These dudes, I forgot what they were called."

Blaze tilted his head and said, "The Order of the Lily, Nicolas. Remember?"

Nick snapped his fingers. "That's right, The Order of the Lily! They're a bunch of shady dudes that want to steal something, or make something, or something," he paused, tapped his head for a moment and groaned. "Dang it!"

Eli said, "You also said something about my aura, being different than others. What did you find so special about it?"

Nick shrugged. "Nothing much, you're one tough nut to crack. All I know is that your aura is different from other people. It is more . . . powerful, I think, and it can be used for something they have planned . . . something very, very bad."

Eli thought for a moment. More powerful? He asked, "Do you know what it is? This thing they have planned?"

Nick shook his head. "No, I don't," he stood up and looked over at the warehouse wreckage. "But Blaze and I are going to find out."

Eli cradled his Pikachu in his arms, then stood up. "You're going to do what now?"

Blaze stood beside his trainer with a determined look, ready to help his friend with anything. "Whoever decided to sicced that thing on us, we're going to find them and kick their asses."

Eli saw the determination in Nick's eyes, he wasn't going to take no for an answer. He was angry, and he wanted payback. Eli sighed. "Well, while I don't exactly like you, but good luck with that."

Eli held out his hand, Nick stared at it for a minute. He then smiled and shook it. "Eli, you're not half bad."

Eli chuckled. "You're not either."

They let go and Nick glanced at road that led out of town, then turned back to Eli. "Well, Blaze and I will be leaving," He then switched gazes to Pikachu, she flinched under his gaze by relaxed when he smiled a bit. "You take care of her, Eli. Granted I know we got off on the wrong foot, and I sorta tried to kill you, and all but-"

Eli waved his hand. "It's cool man, don't sweat it. You sure about this?"

Nick nodded. At that moment, sirens began to fill the air. Their squawks and squeals growing by the second. Nick and Blaze took off down the road. They reached the stop sign, then turned around. Nick raised two fingers and saluted and Blaze winked. Then the two left, disappearing down the road and out of sight.

After that battle with the Rattata Eli was tired, really tired. He was being hunted by some organization called the "Order of the Lily." What the hell does that even mean? And what was so special about his Aura anyway?

It feels like yesterday Eli was just leaving the school and coming home. But it had been what, almost a week? Time sure does fly when you're trying not to die, Eli thought as he sat on a bench outside apartment building.

Eli looked around, not a soul was in sight. No birds were in the skies, or any sounds for that matter. Eli looked down at Pikachu and saw she was the same, looking around, wondering where everybody was. Eli stood up from the bench, and then felt something, something dark.

Pikachu felt it too, right down to her core. Her heart felt like it was being gripped by a pair of claws, crushing. She panicked, she hadn't felt this since. Oh no… tell me he isn't here. Quickly looking around she didn't spot anything at first, but looking over at the northern part of the town… she saw him, standing there.

Oh no! No no no no NO!

She turned to Eli and tugged his pants leg. "What is it Pikachu?" he asked.

"We gotta get inside!"

"Inside?"

She nodded. Eli got up and started for his apartment, then he stopped, the nagging feeling gripped him like a vice.

What the?

He turned around and saw him. The figure stood six feet tall and wore a dark trench coat and a hat. The hat was tilted forward, blocking out his face. His hands were in his coat pockets, appearing to be clamped around something.

. . .

Suddenly, Eli fell to the ground, clutching his chest as a wave of pain overcame him. Pikachu came to his side fast, her eyes darting between Eli and the man. Getting into a defensive stance, she started sparking wildly, her teeth bared and growling deeply.

The man kept approaching until he stood ten feet away, his stance suggested he did not care for Pikachu's threatening posture. Then he lifted his head ever so slightly, showing dark green eyes. "Hello Pikachu."

She growled in response, her sparks flailing wildly throughout the air. Some of them grazed the man's shoulder but he merely brushed them away, as if they were a pesky fly. "Why are you here!?" she hissed, her eyes like daggers.

"Simple," he nodded at Eli. "I'm here because of his kind."

"His kind?" she growled, despite the crushing feeling in her heart she still stood strong. "What are you talking about?!"

"His kind, Pikachu. Do you not know?"

She had begun to shake now, it was evident from her tremors.

"He, along with several others are – special – to us." The man glanced at Eli once more. He was sweating, breathing heavily. Then he turned back to Pikachu. "We need to use him. So if you don't mind, go to sleep."

Something hit Pikachu in the side of her neck. Stars flashed, then the world went black.

Eli realized what was happening, he managed to stand up and charge at the man, only to find a hand clamped around his neck as it suspended him mid-air. He thrashed his legs and kicked him, but to no avail.

Damn, he's strong!

The figure held Eli up to face and glared into his eyes, then spoke in a hushed authorative tone. "You're the one."

His features were clearer now. His face was rugged and bore several small scars, and his eyes were a steely green color that glared right into Eli's. His grip tightened around Eli's neck, a frown appeared on his face. It was the last thing Eli saw before blacking out.

Pikachu stirred and regained consciousness. She was weak, disoriented. She crawled over to Eli, dragging her hind legs behind her. The man didn't noticed, he was too focused on his phone. The Mouse Pokémon climbed up on Eli's chest, then looked at his vital signs. He had a pulse, albeit weak, and he was breathing. However he was unresponsive. There wasn't much she could do more. Pikachu slide off his chest and collapsed, the world was closing around her again. She turned back to the man. His phone was glued to his head, speaking to someone.

"Yes, I have them. The boy and his Pokémon is incapacitated." He held the phone away for a moment as the phone attempt to scream his ear out. Then he pressed his phone back onto his ear. "They're not . . . I'll . . . Yes . . . The plane? Alright, I'll get back to you later."

He disconnected the phone and slipped it back into his pocket. He turned and saw Pikachu, trying to stay awake. The figure stepped over Eli and stood over her like a statue. His clothes vanished, blacking out from the shadows. Pikachu tried to scream, but her voice got caught. Nothing came out but muted horror.

The man said, "I hope you enjoy your flight."

He raised his foot. The figure wore a black pair of combat boots, apparently fresh from the store. He called it down on Pikachu's face, she could only make out the number twelveetched in the treads before it smashed against her cheek. Darkness consumed her once more.
