Rachel sat in her house, alone for the first time in five years, Kori and Richard offered to take Spencer for the night.

"What am I supposed to do with myself?" She mumbled to herself, then an idea struck her. She picked up her phone, and dialed a number. As she waited through the ringing, she hoped he'd pick up.

"Hello, Rachel?"

Kori watched the two five year olds play, smiling at the sight. "Hey guys do you want some ice cream?"

Both kids smiled widely as they shouted. "YES!"

"Ok, we'll come with me to the kitchen." They followed her out, where Richard was helping little Gwen eat her ice cream.

They sat down and dug in to their already made ice cream bowls.

"So how have you liked staying here so far?" Kori asked Spencer.

"It's cool, there's lots of stuff here." He smiled at her. "But I miss my mom."

"It's ok to miss her, but you'll see her tomorrow." Kori said smiling, he smiled back and went back to eating his treat.

Rachel waited anxiously, not sure this was the right decision, but she needed one night. A knock at the door broke her out of her thoughts. She hurried to the door, and as it swung open she looked up at Liam.

"What's this abou..." He was cut off as she pulled him down, and sealed her lips against his. He pulled back not too long after she started. "What's going on?" He asked.

"I need to forget for awhile...can you help me please?" She said with a whimper. She leaned back up and pressed her lips against his urgently, and he relented. They carefully maneuvered towards her bedroom, this wasn't the first time they'd been together like this.

"Rachel, will you please explain what's going on with you?" He asked as they got dressed once more. "The first time you call me in weeks, and it's for this."

"I'm going through a lot with...my past, and it's hard to talk about it." She replied, feeling ashamed inside.

"It has to do with that guy who showed up at dinner at your friends house, doesn't it." He wasn't asking, he was stating it.

"Yes," she said quietly. "He's Spencer's father, and he was gone for my whole pregnancy to deal with a family thing...and two months in I freaked and left him, and came here." She ended up tweaking the truth, to avoid revealing her former secret identity.

"Why was he gone for so long?" He asked confused.

"I don't know, like I said I left two months after he left." She replied. "We were all living together, Kori, Dick, Vic, Gar and I...they got the brunt of it when he came back...that was the first time I'd seen him in five years."

"Rach, this is the last time we can do this." Liam said his voice cold. "I'm not just a toy you can use at your leisure."

"I'm sorry." She said, turning and not wanting him to see her cry, hoping that her powers didn't make anything go haywire.

"Look, I'll just see you around." And he was gone.

She sunk to her knees, grasping at her middle, feeling like the worst person in the world.

Kori walked over to the front door, it was now after six, and she was wondering who that could be.

"Hello?" She opened the door. "Gar?"

"Hey Kor," he said with a shy smile. "Look, I know I didn't leave the best impression, the last time I was here."

"I'll say." She said a stern look on her face, arms crossed over her chest.

"I really need you to tell me Rachel's address." He said pleadingly.

"I don't know if that's a good idea." Kori said her face softening slightly. "I want you two, to talk it out...but she's not emotionally ready."

"I understand that." He stated frustrated. "But she'll never be ready, if she won't face me."

"Kor, who's at the door?" Richard came around the corner. "Oh, hey Gar."

"Hey." He said twisting his shoe against the ground. He looked back into Kori's bright green eyes. "Please."

"Fine, but if you hurt her..." She left the sentence hang there, as she walked away to get some paper.

"What's going on?" Richard asked.

"I need to talk to her." Gar said quietly. "I need her."

"I understand, man." Richard said nodding solemnly.

"Here," Kori handed Gar a slip of paper. "Don't let her know I did this."

"Ok." He turned and disappeared down the walkway.

"I don't know if that was the right thing to do." Kori said as she closed the door, turning to her husband.

"They need this," Richard said pulling her close, and sneaked a kiss before he heard some giggles. "All right you two, I know you're there, better prepare!" He growled playfully and ran after the two five year olds, who shrieked and ran off.

Kori smiled watching her husband, but she couldn't help worrying about Rachel.

Rachel had finally stopped sobbing, and was in the kitchen making some tea, when her doorbell rang. She looked at the clock on the stove it said it was almost seven.

She left the water to finish boiling and walked to the door. She opened it and gasped at the sight of Gar standing there.

"Rachel, we need to talk." He said his tone serious. "Please."

She stood frozen, not knowing what she should do or say. The first thing that slipped from her mouth was, "how'd you know where I live?"

"That's not important, please let me in." He begged, and unconsciously she stepped aside letting him in. She closed the door and walked passed him to the kitchen to finish her tea, trying to mentally prepare herself.

"Why didn't you wait for me?" He asked as she poured herself a mug.

"You have no idea," she said with a sniff. "How scary it is...to know what I knew, and have you gone for so long."

"Will you please, stop skirting around the issue?" He asked frustrated, he spun her around to face him. "Please look at me...Rae I still...I still- it hurts that you won't give me the time of day!"

"You just left me!" She said her emotions finally getting the better of her, the mug in her hands shattered cutting her fingers. She didn't even notice the pain. "You left us!"

"Rae, calm down...you're bleeding, where's your first aid kit?"

"Above the microwave." She muttered. "It doesn't even hurt."

Gar shook his head, she was still the same stubborn half demon he used to know, but at the same time she wasn't.

As he was bandaging her injured hand, after he pulled the shards out. "Won't you just tell me what happened?"

She looked into his eyes, hers were full of fear. "You'll hate me if I do."

"I could never hate you," he said in a tone that suggested she was silly. "So come on, why'd you freak out so bad you had to leave?" She felt a small warmth in her chest at the tone he used, the one she remembered.

"I know you'll be furious." She mumbled. She walked away, into her bedroom and pulled out a photo of her when Spencer was first born. She handed it to him.

He looked at the picture confused as to why she was showing him this. Then he took a good look at the child in her arms, blonde tufts of hair, expressive sapphire eyes, but what really struck him was the boys ears, they were pointed.

"That's the only picture I have of him...looking how he did when he was born," she took a deep shuddering breath. "I altered his appearance, because I didn't want anyone knowing...who his father was."

He looked up at her, his face one of complete and utter betrayal. "How could you keep this from me?!" His voice was low, anger seeping in. "He's my son, and...and you just let me think...wow I didn't think you, of all people were that cruel." He backed away from her.

She crossed her arms over her chest, as if holding herself together. "How was I supposed to say anything? I haven't even seen you in five years."

"But that night, he was there!" He shouted making her flinch. "You know what, I can't look at you right now, I have to go." He shoved the picture back at her and stormed out of the house.

And again that night, after hours of crying she finally was able to fall asleep.
