"Sebastian I rather not wear this!" Sebastian only smirks shaking his head, enjoying my misery as he tried to tighten a corset around my waist. "It's too tight!" My voice growled.

"Be patient my lady it will only take a second" Sebastian tightened the corset my ribs felt as if they were being constricted and displaced. "Too tight" My fingers gripped the walls.

"Stop right there!" Madame Red fell over leaning too hard against the door her face the color of her hair. "I thought you were.."

Waiting for my descendent and annoying butler took too much of my time and patience, sipping tea boredly at the table Elizabeth started squealing at my clothing choices and offering me a pink bonnet to match her clothing. Exactly like the old Elizabeth of my century. My blackened heart no longer beated but why did this familiarity tug at my strings and somehow calmed my aching nerves? Quite interesting indeed I suppose. "Hurry up Elizabeth!" Francis's voice boomed. "Bye Ciel" Elizabeth dashed out closing the door behind her. Coming in slowly Rachel dressed in a lovely fuchsia colored ball gown took a seat across from me she warmly smiled at me. "Hello Ciel, how are you doing?" Her hand reached out to touch mine but my hand pulled away quickly. She looks too similar to my mother its in a way haunting as if the ghosts of my past have come back to haunt me for the sins I have committed.

"I see… you don't like to be touched I apologize. You're a really sweet kid though thank you for helping save my niece. May I ask you something?" Rachel smiled nodding her head in approval. I slowly nodded continually sipping my tea boredly. Tracing her pale blue eyes and features my mother came to my mind again. She's dead.

"Smile you seem like you've been seeing a ghost" Standing up quickly she walked to my side holding out her hand. "May you be a gentleman and escort me to the ball? Vincent is not available till later on tonight and I'm wary of going alone. Will you be so kind to escort me son."

"Of course cannot have a lady escorting herself without a gentleman to a ball. Can I?" Reaching over to put her arm in mine felt foreign felt comforting to hear the gentle rhythm of her heart beating, her soul tinged with irregularity it was different from any soul I've encountered so far. The words son echoed through my mind as I patiently waited for the limousine to come around the corner. Coming down blushing Madame Red smiled awkwardly taking a seat near us she coughed twice before taking out her cellphone. Coming in swiftly Katherine approached us holding Sebastian's hand a furious look engulfed her features. Her hair was gracefully curled to the side over her left shoulder covering her contract, her aqua blue ball gown ruffled with silver ruffles on the very top while tightening over her midsection do to the corset, her heels which were the same color gleamed. Sebastian followed in tow dressed in a blackened suit, crimson red tie and pale white gloves with a blackened top hat. He grimaced slightly but remained utterly amused being dragged along by a human girl. "Where's Francis and Leon? Elizabeth and the other one?" Katherine growled.

"Already departed" Madame Red coughed. "They love to be early in any endeavor or event, honor is a main reason of it." Before smiling and looking way still embarrassed. "I'm sorry"

"Whatever." Katherine's eyes sharpened peering at me she noticed my arm around Rachel's arm. Her eyebrow raised slightly but she simply nodded looking out of the darkened window instead. Her hand remained in Sebastian's. Odd.

Sebastian POV

Hundreds of years in my endeavors scouring of this wretched earth to find even a soul worth tasting aligned with repetitive façade of servitude laced with utter disappointment till I discovered my master, only to have his soul ripped from my finger tips. Hunger entices my senses the meal at hand much more tedious who would have knew I would find another soul almost as identical as my master's a descendent of his noble lines no less. Subjective as it may seem being dragged by a mere human girl it seems not to be all degrading. Oddly the warm pulse of a human hand against my cold unbeating fingertips is calming. But alas I'm a soulless cold unfeeling being with only one desire and known preference a human soul. A being such as myself cannot experience such vague pitiful human emotions I refuse to believe it so. Peering at my young master who sat nonchalant my eyes narrowed a bit a smirk facading my lips. Try as he may the tensions and stiffness of his seating position reveals his false facade of calmness, inside the wretched brat is anxious and falling apart maybe even into tiny shards. Rather enjoyment of his pain could be considered an emotion. A rather deep testament of resentment to such a soulless being such as my master. Surely I can mold my current one into less of a brat.

"Sebastain?" Katherine narrowed her eyes a tight stern movement graced her lips as her eyes traced mine trying as she may to even figure out the inner most workings of my twisted mind. A smirk appeared on my lips beguiled in amusement no less.

"Quit staring you're starting to look rather starved" A quick smirk appeared on her lips from the sequestered joke. Ciel boredly rolled his eyes his finger twitched slightly at his cursed family rings.

"Gazing can hardly be called staring my lady besides fingers laced around mine can hardly be unaffectionate can it not?" Taunting her seemed to agitate her slightly.

"No wonder my fingertips felt iced cold. Almost as if placed in a freezer or perhaps from a corpse" she retorted back.

"You taunt me so, seems as if your fingers have been placed in an oven or perhaps around another man?" A devilish smile graced my lips as the intended reaction played out marvelously.

"Another man?! Trouble in paradise..." A sharpened look from Katherine silenced Madame Red momentarily while she went through her purse mumbling about romantic novels, infidelity and writing it down. While blushing profusely, Rachel smiled amused while leaning closer to Ciel. "I'm a bit tired I apologize" She replied politely, Ciel's body tensed uncomfortably his face stoic."Quite alright" Hearing the car engine come to a close I stood ready to offer assistance to my current master's relatives. Brushing aside my gesture Katherine stood out standing by my side. Stubborn girl. Tsk brat

Katherine P.O.V

Tonight should be a very eventful night my only goal is to get initiated nothing more nothing less. Arriving at the crowded pale white mansion laced with gold designs and pale white rose bushes surrounding the front passage my arm locked under Sebastian's involuntarily. Nothing more nothing less. The dance floor came alive couples danced slowly to olden Victorian styled music a matching insignia to their Victorian clothing choices. The Queen no where in sight my eyes graced the crowded room searching for her blackened veil. "Social gatherings are not my cup of tea" Sebastian held out his hand a smugish look on his features. "Care to dance my lady? Social gatherings require utmost social behaviors we've rehearsed proper movement" Relunctantly taking his hand he lead the waltz. My feet moved automatically staring into his crimson eyes seemed to be enticing as if staring into the beady eyes of a darkened crow. He noticed my peering eyes a proud smirk gracing his features. Giggling women whispered eye googling Sebastian. "Humans are simple creatures infatuation and potential mates chosen on looks and prospects."

"They aren't obviously going to find much prospects from a butler as for looks eh" a smug look graced my lips momentarily a shot to his inflated ego relived my boredom. For a second an annoyed looked sparked in his eyes before his plastered smug look returned. "Jealously another simple human behavior." Dipping my body down before returning me back he swiftly maneuvered as if he has been performing this dance for centuries. Claps arose barely noticing that we were even being watched, the music changed up as my vision peered at Ciel who struggled to dance with Rachel. Ciel seemed even more uncomfortable as Elizabeth grabbed his hand dragging him to the dance floor.

"Be right back Sebastian" My hand left his as I moved toward the refreshments table. A shadows swift movement down the hall caught my attention, curiosity powered my movements down the hall away from the party. Darkened fuchsia closed walls mixed with gold stripes covered the halls each room appeared locked my eyes glimpsed seeing a foot move off the next corner childlike giggles echoed through the halls. Who was... A hand forcibly yanked me into a nearby room a hand held my mouth shut. Instinct kicked in to yell and kick my assailant. "Quit hitting me" A familiar voice commanded letting go of me. My eyes narrowed as I slipped landing on the floor turning my head a familiar face grinned at me. "Hey there crash test dummy" Sabriel chuckled before holding out his hand, dressed formally he wore a clasped ivory suit with gold metals and purple ribbons.

"What the hell!? Argh!" Refusing his hand I stood up swiftly aiming a punch at his face he held my fist firmly.

"Physical violence is a form of learned behavior. Besides I'm not here to fool around, not that it ain't tempting" Winking before taking a stern look he let go pulling an envelope from his pocket. "Here a letter from her majesty. She's not feeling well she wanted me her trusty personal guard to deliver this." Sabriel smiled placing he letter in my hand.

"You're the Queen's guard?" Gripping the paper lightly and examining it suspiciously the official stamp of the Queen appeared confirming his accusations.

"Yeah it's pretty lame her other guard is a total bore. A total condescending bastard if you ask me. As for the Queen she isn't too bright that one. Don't tell anyone I said this they would have my head. Get it?"

"You're stupid. Remind me why I shouldn't call my fian.. butler to discard of your remains?" My eyebrows raised more intrigued and amused to do anything yet. At least I have my initiation letter and first assignment. Why is it he shows up when no one is around or when I least expect it?

"You nearly assaulted a Queen's royal guard a crime. More likely treason against the Queen." Firmly straightening his hit proudly. "I could arrest you."

"And if you did I'd just admit a young innocent lady minding her own business was kidnapped and abducted into a sectioned off room by a strange boy who could have sinister intentions." Smirking as I ripped the letter open.

"Touché." Opening the room Sabriel grinned. "And what were you doing in the halls anyway? If you got caught wandering the Queen's private halls you would have gotten arrested." His grin disappeared a look of concern graced his features.

"I thought... I got lost" My face remained stoic as I walked out of the room.

"Don't go looking for..."

"Wandering the halls? Have you gone mad?" Ciel appeared behind me a look of annoyance on his features. "Come along I've had enough socializing for the night" Following behind him I looked back. He disappeared again.

"I received the letter from the Queen. I'll read it." Pausing to examine the letter's contents. "Dear royal guardog it is my duty to inform you of a current mission. Such a beautiful night it is my reluctance to give you such a task on your initiation night and be absent on this special night I apologize but I regret to inform you but it is utmost importance to complete this. Several children of our beautiful city have gone missing our children are our future. Your majesty's eyes cry for them. It pains me to have such young bright future's extinguished stolen from underneath my watchful eyes. The children only orphans of Honorbell orphanage. This will not stand. Go send my problems and troublemakers into your majesty." "That's twenty minutes away from here." Folding the paper before handing it over to Ciel who examined its contents further.

"Sebastian its time, were leaving" Ciel commanded walking ahead of us. "It's time to see how well my descendant can handle this duty. Although its certainly not a women's task" Ciel scoffed.

Sebastian smirked placing his hand over his chest. "Yes my young lord"

"Certainly not a child's either" My fingers tightened slightly. One step forward never back.

"What did you say?" Ciel stopped.

"Certainly not a child's job can you not hear?" My voice rose challenging him. Ciel stood frozen seconds passed. Sebastian held a hand near his mouth attempting not to chuckle.
