"Again" Dr. Arbon shook his head disappointed by the results his clipboard striked out the test subject's check box.
"Stop it!" Katherine screamed her hands reinforced to the small wooden chair was metal cuffs, her body was soaking wet from being dunked into the tank repeatedly. A look of rage anger in her eyes. "Sebas..."
"Again." Her body was reimbursed into the tank her hair went wild sloshing around blocking her vision her body twitched moved violently under the chains and water. "30 seconds" He watched boredly as she stopped moving violently. "Up" The guards lifted the crane onto the surface she breathed roughly gasping like a fish out of water. This time she stayed silent Dr. Arbon shook his head in slight approval. "Put her in with the rest of them I'll be back soon" Guards nodded moving swiftly to untie Katherine throwing her now unconscious body over their rough shoulders they moved towards the lab's secret section. Tossing her unconscious body into a darkened cage the howling of beasts rang out as the guards walked away locking the doors behind them.
"Hatred and sorrow are power; they are yours to control. All you have to do is turn them into strength, and use that strength to move forward."
I can't give up now. "Wake up!" My eyes snapped open as my body lurched forward. My clothing was soaked to the bone and my hair was all over the place. My eyes adjusted slowly to the cage as I fixed my hair. Animatistic noises and howls could be heard from the rest of the cages. The lights were off my eyes couldn't make out shadowed figures in identical metal dog kennels my fingers twisted into a tightened fist from touching something round full of water, a dog bowl.
"What the fuck!" My voice rang as I knocked over the bowl tossing it against the cage the sound rattled the cages inhabitants sending them into a wild flurry of screeching and growling. I froze hearing an animal sobbing almost human like and identical to a young girl. The lights flipped on the doctor came in my eyes grimaced with horror the children or what used to be them. Their faces the faves of innocent frightened children the ones on the album the Queen had given me but there bodies twisted and mutated into those of animals a young boy growled shaking the cage wildly his arms those of a primeval monkey. He howled slobbering his teeth had grown fang like.
"How could you!" Venom built up rolling off my tongue. "How can anyone do this to parent less children?! Orphans!" My fingers tightened as I lurched shaking the cage wildly hitting my shoulders against it to even try as I may to loosen its hold
"Research is research. Besides nobody cares for these parentless miscreants anyway, they are nothing but pennies on the dirtied floor alley rats, gutter rats street rats. Only one of these pitiful subjects has a parent found it wandering the street alone supposed it would make a good test subject, I suppose my hypothesis was right." Dr. Arbon glanced boredly at the cage labeled #45 Maria Candaner. A frightened face of a young girl peered at me her eye a lovely shade of hazel the other the good slittled color of a wildcat, her beautiful short auburn hair was messy the rest of her body deformed and shaped into that of a kangaroo. She whimpered looking at me she growled "friend" My stomach churned indefinably as vomit inched its way up my throat.
"Disgusting." Dr Arbon rolled his sharpened eyes at me for vomiting, "Your next soon anyway guards send her to the table after dinner until then get her cleaned up" The guards grabbed me as I kicked and screamed "Bastard! I'll rip your throat out!" My hook landed in a guard's face he yelled holding his face. "Bitch broke my nose!"
Slam
My head felt as if it had shattered into a this thousands pieces my mind felt fuzzy as I tried to get back up my hearing buzzed as my face felt swollen and warm. As my fingers gripped the floor. "Try as you may your not breaking my spirit." Blood poured as I spit on the floor angrily."Only cowards hurt children. God doesn't exist but the devil does he's coming for you when he comes dressed in a black suit and white gloves.."
Smack
Another kick to the head sent my mind spinning my vision began to go blurry it hurt to breath as another kick landed in my ribs. Can't stay awake. My vision faded engulfed into darkness. Darkness is comforting. "Crazy bitch!" One of the guards who supposedly had his nose broken growled holding his broken nose. "How about we put this bitch in with another subject" The second guard hissed a smile on his lips. "You're right number 45 will tear her apart. It's a monster." Dragging her arms the guards grabbed Katherine's body picking her over their heads. "Number 45! Dinner!"
"Sebastian! This is an order until I call you do not come for me no matter what." Starting at Sebastian's displeased features as he finally bowed touching his chest. "Yes my lady"
"Of course I cannot allow a dim witted lady to go alone." Ciel scuffled outside the car door we had all changed in a hurry leaving the party quickly. Ciel blushed as I removed my dress putting on a shirt. "Are you mad?!"
"200 years and you haven't learned much have you? Look away uncle." My voice taunted Sebastian smirked at Ciel's uncomfortable stance before he looked away. "I'm a gentleman" he mumbled. Leaving the car Ciel paused. "Im doubtful you will be able to complete this task such a fragile state and mind." He shook his head "An unruly task for a young lady. You expect us to save you like a damsel in distress after landing yourself in an uncertain situation. Ciel remained doubtful of my skills or competency.
"I'll repeat this again certainly not a job for a child" Ciel turned glaring at me. "I am the Phantomhive Heir the Queen's original guardog. The bodies laid to rest by my hands is astronomical, the souls of my ancestors still scream in agony held together by the cursed rings passed down from generations to generations. My childhood burned away along with any resemblance of remorse or pity. Your ability will be tested, certainly if you fail I'll steal your crown." Ciel smirked.
"Alright princess" Ciel lounged at me eyes glowing red my body lurched forward aiming to knock him down to bruise his high and mighty ego.
"I've had enough of this childish bickering" Sebastian pulled us apart holding us by the collars of our shirts.
"Friend" A voice echoed my hair felt as if it was being braided by someone. My eyes slowly opened looking face to face into those misshapen eyes made me twitch in shock. "Friends" It smiled.
"What.. Are you alright?" Siting cross legged I looked at the girl examining her body it repulsed me but her overall demeanor assured me I wouldn't be hurt unless I tried something.
"I miss daddy" She whispered looking at the bottom of the cage she sobbed. "But daddy won't love me anymore when he sees me!" Her demeanor changed she became enraged shaking the cage wildly before calming down and looking at me. "Where's your daddy?"
"He's dead so is my mother" I replied boredly no remorse or hint of sadness or emotion in my voice, numb. My feelings left a long time ago along with the old me.
"Don't you miss your daddy?" She grunted starting starting to sob again.
"You can only grieve for the dead for so long look forward not back. Crying is not going to bring them back neither is regret so quit it" My eyes noticed the cage it was slightly dented from her forceful shake. "Hit it again for me?" She shook her head stubbornly. "Why not?!" I snapped.
"Because we aren't supposed to hit it. Bad things happen" She shook her head.
"Please friend?" My mind thought up a plan. Manipulate your chess pieces that's how you win the game. " Dont you want to see your daddy? I'm sure he misses you" Her eyes lite up like Christmas lights as she moved pounding the cage forcefully. It snapped open the hinges falling off. I moved to get out of the cramped corners. "Stay here I'll protect you and get you out of here but I need you to wait" Maria shook her head excitedly my fingers moved to open the doors I sprinted as fast as I could, the hollow pale hallways smelled like antiseptic. A guard snoozed at a nearby door his army boots on the table as he leaned back snoring a gun in his pocket caught my attention. "I'm coming for you Arbon" My voice whispered placing the gun in my fingertips before sprinting quietly down the emptied halls the farthest final door caught my eyes. My foot slammed against the door as I trotted in pointing the gun Arbon stood peering though the mirror ignoring my presence he spoke.
"Barging in and escaping why am I not surprised?" He coughed into his hand ignoring me not even bothering to turn around. "You've even stolen a gun."
"Shut up! I'm going to kill you before Scotland Yard gets here or worse when my butler arrives after I call him!" My fingers tightened slightly on the trigger not willing to pull just yet.
"Tell me something girl, you're probably lonely aren't you?"
"Shut up!" I growled back.
"No parents to take care of you utterly alone." He turned moving towards me slowly, "Its because you feel the need to replace them or to take over their place you are somehow avenging them. But inside your a sad little girl you know without sacrificing your dreams and future you will never attain justice as you see it. Your not even cut out to follow in your father's footsteps you fight even to get up in the morning your such a weak fragile being no one should have to loose their parents." He stepped forward my gun pointing directly at his forehead.
"I'll pull the trigger and blow your brains out no remorse."
"You wouldn't dare inside your falling apart. There's two figures in your life one you seek to surpass in skill. The other one you feel complex feelings for this "butler" I suppose is more than your butler he's more like a guiding figure in your life but this figure wants nothing more than something you possess and that' terrifies you your afraid of abandonment of being left alone once this figure achieves what it came for."
"You lie..." My hand shook widely. Why am I shaking?! It's not true!
Smack
A metal tong slammed into me knocking me over the gun fell out of my hands rolling on the floor. "See your weak girl I'm going to have to dispose of you!" Dr Arbon pulled out his revolver. "Any last words?"
"I've had enough Seb..." The shot rang out. My eyes closed . Am I dead? A scream rang out as a man yelled and a large thud could be heard. Dr Arbon growled on the floor his body slamming into the window. He sunk to the floor injured and bleeding. A body held me closely its breathing rough. "Sebastian?"
"Friend." It whispered. Before holding me tighter. "Kill me." Maria whispered placing a gun into my fingers. "Please" Warm liquid oozed onto my body.
"I can't" I whispered closing my eyes. "I'm not strong enough ."
"Do it or ill kill you." She hissed tightened her arms around my body tightly digging her claws into my ribs. "Please friend." My finger laced around the trigger as my fingers snapped on the trigger.
Bang.
Her body felt limp while her body seemed to be losing color. "Thank you." She whispered before her body slammed onto the floor her blood covered my features.
"Murderer. Your no better than me" Dr. Arbon laughed gripping his torn open arm which bleed profusely. "Shooting an innocent young girl in the head especially one with a father."
"Shut up." My choice snapped as I stood up. "This game is over I'm bored. Sebastian this is an order get over here now!" The window shattered as Sebastian holding Ciel jumped through landing in front of me he bowed slightly releasing Ciel, a displeased look graced his features once noticing my blood stained clothing. "You seem to have gotten into trouble my lady. Did it not cross your mind to forewarn me sooner of your condition?"
"Burn it to the ground." Sebastian paused raising his eyebrow shocked. "My lady there are inhabitants children trapped in this facility." Ciel stared at me an odd look on his features.
"Burn it she told me to send her problems into darkness this facility is a problem. There are no children left just beasts." Walking towards Dr Arbon who shook now wildly. "Please don't kill me! I did it for research! Progress!"
"Death is too quick for you pulling the trigger is too quick for scum like you. Beg the demon to do it instead" Moving the gun from his forehead I tossed it out the window boredly. "I'll be outside Sebastian do what you will with him I really don't care see to it this place burns to a crisp."
"Yes my lady" Sebastian smirked.
My foot steps left the building walking away as the smell of thick smoke filled my nostrils. Walk forward never back. Step higher never lower. Lead never follow. Conquer never defeated. Rule never ruled. Broken never completely shattered. A scream could be heard from the building a smirk graces my lips momentarily. Walking away a figure charged at me grabbing me by the collar of my shirt the figure a middle aged man sobbed his curly auburn hair and hazel eyes seemed familiar. "Where is my baby?!" He sobbed. "What did they do to her?! Where is she.!?" He sobbed harder shaking me hysterically.
"She's dead" I whispered staring into his eyes which went numb his eyes widened. "Who hurt her!" He growled his eyes turning dark devoid of feeling homicidal.
"I did" His fingers tightened harder pulling me up by the cuffs of my shirt.
"Why!?" He sobbed harder gripping my shirt tighter.
Ciel P.O.V
My thoughts cannot fathom what has occurred right now. Molding her into my image isn't what I had imagined or wanted per say. Stepping out of the building with Sebastian my eyes peered to see a man screaming his head off holding Katherine. Her eyes covered by the bangs of her hair. Is she crying? Nodding at Sebastian we ventured closer towards the argument. "Why did you kill her?!" The man screamed louder. "My child was only ten years old too young to die!"
"Death is inevitable. Holding onto the idea that death is too early or too soon is pathetic." Katherine coldly replied
"You bitch!" The man moved his hand back, Sebastian appeared holding the man's fist tightly an angered look on his face. "Hitting a lady is not gentlemanly behavior desist or I'll have to handle you myself" The man shook afraid before letting go and running away he stumbled over a few times, glaring as he ran away. Odd Sebastian never becomes enraged or at least shows it. Blaring sounds and flashing lights of Scotland Yard appeared. Sebastian examined her face pushing her hair away before picking her up. "Are you feeling alright my lady?"
"Perfectly fine. You can put me down."
"Freeze!" "Put your hands up now!"
Scotland Yard has to show up now? How shall we handle this situation? Of course being immortal bullets do not faze me. My hands stayed at my side boredly. Tsk humans. This shouldn't take long.
Katherine P.O.V
I don't know what I'm feeling anymore. Guns pointing at my head I'm not even fazed scared or feeling anything. Hollow it feels good as If my hearts completely numb. "Sebastian put me down" complying with my demand he placed me back on the gravelled floor stepping forward I looked bored approaching them.
"I said! DO NOT MOVE!" One of the officers held the gun tighter. "I'll..." He was cut off as a figure held out his hand telling the officers to lower their guns before approaching swiftly the figure frowned. "Your the Queen's new puppy huh? Didn't expect a young girl." Awkwardly rummaging his fingers through his shaggy auburn hair his blue eyes sparked with concern noticing the blood on my body and face. "You alright? Are you hurt?"
"I'm quite alright." I retorted annoyed at his awkwardness and his displayed concern for my well being.
"Looks like things didn't go well in there. Did anyone survive?" He scratched his hair peering at the burning building behind us.
"No, you're welcome to go check I'm leaving the job is done." Walking away from him my arm felt a tug. He held it firmly.
"Tell me what's your name? I'm officer Aberline." Aberline smiled letting go of my left arm. My movements stopped noticing a horrified look on Ciel's face he seemed pale. Sebastian seemed indifferent a displeased look still on his features. Sebastian followed behind taking my side quickly. Without warning he held me back in his arms protectively. "Katherine." I spoke before Sebastian began moving.
"See you next time Katherine!" Aberline yelled before he walked towards the police lines firefighters and ambulances arrived, hoping eagerly to find survivors of the scene. The flashing lights disappeared as we entered the car. The flames enticed my eyes, Stay here I'll protect you. Empty words.
"My lady are you alright?" Sebastian glanced at me as I leaned my head against the window.
"Quite alright." Never been better
