Thick mist was all around me it rose and fell like a steam from a hot bath it was relaxing and mysterious at the same time I heard the sound of some barefoot running a small child with dark hair ran past me through the mist wearing a simple gray dress "Wait do you know where I am?" I said "home." The girl said sweetly over her shoulder I ran after the girl I ran so long

then a man came in to view the girl his back was towards me to the young man had dark hair like the little girl wearing black pants and a gray shirt the man turned around and smiled at the girl with love and pride in his eyes
the man pick her up and spin her a round girl as if she was a light as a feather then hug her I smiled at the scene it warmed my heart see them together

"The matter how far you run or fly know you are my little bird of the sky." The man said to little I knew now without a doubt that the two were related. Most likely father and daughter due to their hair color I felt a pang of sadness since my dad had passed away when I very young too young to miss him I did wonder what my life would have been like if he had lived.

I walked closer to get a better look then but faint gust of wind made the mist began to cover them in the midst began to dissipate reveling to my left was black mountains in the distance the stretch for miles and miles like a wall turned right till I could no longer see it to my right green hills with thick green lush rain forest behind the hills but ground around me was ash and sand and the few trees that remained standing were black as coal as well as the ones on the ground that had white on some parts of their bark as I walked a light layer of smoke covers the area.
The burning or charred maple, pine tree was strong in the air as the ash of the fire fell back down to earth like snow, My stomach turn from the smell of the burned wood and trees since the was almost the same smell the cabin when it was burning.

I covered my mouth with my left hand I breathed through my mouth to try to stop the nausea and trying not to think about it bodies being roasted alive and burning, silently praying that I didn't cross a dead body
the silent was deafening as I walked for what seemed to be miles to my feet I walked around several destroyed hut and houses only a charred wall and pole remain of what seemed to be a village of over twenty people.

I stopped when I spotted a three men walking side by side I was take a back at the men the ones on the ends were so pale that have put the expression 'pale as death' to right, and they were over 6 feet tall broad shouldered well-built and broad shoulders and they had nothing covering their chests that was riddled with scars some looked recently inflicted and still oozing black blood on others looked to be years older.
Their faces were grim and permits scowl on their faces and they blue eyes fill with burning hatred to the man in the middle like they would like nothing better than to slit his throat with their huge two handed sword on their hips and the black pants or their dagger on their gray boots but the man in the middle was didn't look hurt anyway physically he looked as muscular as the other two but his skin was a healthy tan and dark brown hair the color of wet dirt. But the thing that draw my attention was the two black bird wing that were twice the size of him that made him look fierce and majestic at the same time I got a closer look the man his skin was smooth and glossy like a snake my eyes went wide he had snake skin for skin that only made him look more intimidating the other two.

I followed till they stop on top of the hill where two men were standing one a crimson hood that other in black who sent a cold shiver down my spine like someone had just walked over my grave. Something about the one in black that may me want to run away and scream. One red tape cloak changed to gold and back again make him look that is cloak was on fire. The one in black spoke his voice sounded like an echo from deep cave and yet cold and sharp as arctic wind "You are lost. You will be chained in Angmar until the end of time, until the broken world is remade. But you will first be grounded." He said to the man with wings. I gaped at the man when I heard the word grounded I wonder why this man was being punished "wait what has he done wrong?" I asked but none of them answer me "hello can to hear me." I said annoyed

I tried to move but something stopped me as if an invisible force told me back I struggle against whatever was holding me back one thing I hated it in the world
I helplessly like before watch the two pale men forced the bird man on the ground and let go of him to unsheathed their swords tears streamed down my face as I screamed for them to stop but the man stood still as the ax's came down.

Swish! Crack!

The man wings were cut at the base blood sprayed on the two pale men chests then the blood ran down the man back like water and glass
"Change back to human, or the last of your people die now" the black hooded man hissed the man with the cut wings looked at me not with pain or fear that thought would be instead of determination and love that I saw his light brown eyes
calm little one the voice wasn't mine but I knew that it with his voice
"No please don't!" I sobbed tears streak down my cheeks as my body involuntarily trembeling at what I had just saw
but the man skin began to ripple of water on the ocean he became shorter and his reptile skin was replaced with soft human skin "why, why did you let them do it?" I sobbed as sank to my knees folded my arms around my shoulders and rubbed them back and forth to try to calm me down I hear black hood say something but I couldn't hear it over my breathtaking sobs or fire that swarm around me out of nowhere I heard the sound of fast beating drums.

The song over the hill and far away by Nightwish came from my iPod I fumbled in to my pants pocket till I pulled it out.
it read 5:45am and morning alarm underneath snooze or ok it I click ok turning off the alarm
I sighed as a lay back down on the mattress after I sure that I was still in my bed in bag end I sighed and took deep breaths to clam my racing heart
I was mentally awake at least it wasn't the cabin fire I shook my head trying not to think about thou nightmare's that made me wake up in the middle of the night gasping for air as if I was being held underwater recalling that creatures hand a my throat squeezing out of me.

My shirt and forehead and my chest drenched in sweat
my heart pang in sadness for the man in my dream who lost the those beautiful wings cut off him like a pet canary they had no right! no right at all!

a dull ache in-between my eyes and my throat was dry, and tad sore from crying last night so I got on a bed and stretched my arms and yawned. I went to the dresser where the clothes I laid out last night. black sleeved shirt and over a grayish blue tunic, black pants, worn dark brown boots that went past my ankles and shocks, and a one of large gray heavy cloak and brown belt and a brown sun hat so I didn't get a sunburn on my face or neck

I went in to the guest bathroom and took a hot showed enjoying as well as I could since it might be several weeks before I could enjoy a hot shower again.
I hop out and dried myself with a towel and rebound my chest since bra's not been invented yet and in particular the coarsest to many buttons and strings for me

after I got dressed I made a turkey sandwich with lettuce, onion, and cucumbers on my way out I grabbed an apple and put it in my pocket then fill a hand size brown pouch and fill with an assortment nuts and berries from the kitchen places the letter to Bilbo on the mantel I sling my pack over my shoulders and quietly left the bag end for most likely the last time.

I left the other letter in Mr Gamgee's mailbox I just did the straps to my backpack and started walking. I checked my iPod now it read 7:05am as search threw my music library, till I found a song to listen to as I walked to the green dragon by the fifth song the large green inn the size of a long house that six trucks could

and the house came in to view as I got closer I heard neighing of horse by the stables nearby I did a quick walk around the inn but there was no sign of the dwarves when I walked in the inn the smell of wine and ale and pipe weed filled the air place the 50 by 30 7 feet tall main area of the dark gum wood for the flooring and dark mahogany wood for the pillars that were carved with detail grapevines and wheat going down the columns the bar was to my left where Lily brown was washing out a mug and tables macked evening spaced so two hobbits could walks by and not bump each other.

I spotted some of them eating breakfast in two of the back corner tables talking in low voices but I couldn't make out what they were saying as I walking up to Lily Brown a young hobbit lass light skin with big brown doe eyes and golden curls wearing a dark yellow who was the only other person I like since she allowed me to play the fiddle "Hey Lily having a good Saturday?" I said politely

"Yes so far where are you off to?" Lily asked have seen my backpack
I replied without missing a beat "I'm going away for a while for a trip east I don't know when I'll be coming back." This was true, but vague enough that Thorin won't jump down my throat. I wasn't afraid of him but wary not just him but the whole company looks can be deceiving Lee taught me that lesson all too well just the mere thought of that boy made me want to puke.

"oh I see," "Then can play one last song before you leave for the road." Lily asked
I looked over my shoulder at the dwarves they sat down and where enjoying themselves not likely leaving any time soon I looked back to Lily
surged my shoulders not thinking of any reason why I shouldn't and I need to kill some time until the dwarves were ready to go. "Sure why not."
I dropped my pack down in the left hand corner that was right be the door and walked over to the small storage room to the left of the bar where Lily had musical instruments ready for anyone who had the wish to play.

I decided on when can I see you again by owl city for a happy good bye for Lily. Hobbit's liked the songs were happy and upbeat, like most of the songs I played no one didn't mind to much who is playing it since music was music in their opinion. But I did play the occasional sad heartbreaking song once or twice

I quickly tuned the fiddle to the right keys I really noticed that the room had gone a little quieter as I was tuning

the fiddle sounded different than the violin that I have been grown accustomed to playing. the pitch was lower but the notes are still the same
I had played this song two times in the past some of the hobbits sang the words as I began to play.

I lost myself in the song and my troubles felt so far away and felt like the music was lifted me off the ground till I came back down from that high I bowed to the clapping and Lily who wished good luck.

I checked the table and some of the dwarves were gone I put the instruments back and grabbed my pack then I saw Dori leave so I follow him to the stables

to find there Gandalf and he was by chestnut pony already saddle and bridle "ah Raven here is Bell she will you pony for our journey." I had taken some basic riding lessons when I was in middle school so I knew how remove the saddle tact and steer the horse are in this case pony
"that was a lovely song lad." said Bofur "thanks."

"Gandalf should I stay, and wait for Bilbo?" I asked "no need he will be a long shortly." I nodded I went over to Bell and crossed over the reins over Bells neck

I grabbed the horn and back of the saddle and pulled it toward me

placed my left foot in the stirrup and put most my weight as I hop twise with my right foot at the same time saddle tightly pulled to my side as I raised and got myself adjusted comfortably in the saddle

soon everyone was on their pony's and soon we were out to the main road and out of the shire.

"You think he's coming?" asked Nori
"Who?" I asked
"Bilbo"
"oh, yes " I said confidently
"All right, I bet fifteen gold that Bilbo doesn't show up." said Noir loud so everyone could hear "I'll take up that bet." "aye." Soon the pool had started almost everyone against Bilbo except for Me Gloin, Fili, Kili Gandalf, Balin and Thorin who didn't participate in the pool and there was a second bet going on with me and Fili

"I will take care of all the ponies every night for a full week if he doesn't show up by noon." "And if he does?" ask Fili I bit my lip thinking of something "you be my paring partner for a full week when we stop for the night." I was in need the training I mean I learned how to do a throw a punch and a round house kick on a tree but that was about it "Deal."

"So how long have you been playing the fiddle." Fili asked changing the subject "About a eight nine years." "why not live in the blue Mountains?" ask Ori who was two pony behind me. "what do you mean?" "you play the fiddle so beautifully which is rare in the mountains." Fili
"Ah, well I grew up in a small human village all my life plus being a musician my job would often take me away from home learning new song and tales to play; it wouldn't seem fair someone who would need a home more than I do." it was the lie I have came up with when Bilbo asked me all thous weeks ago on where a came from and I was going to stick to it no matter what.

Later

Bilbo had come with sign the contract and join us and was given a pack pony named Myrtle
"hey Noir pay up" said Glion some were in the front of me I hear "what that about" Bilbo ask with a bit of curiosity in his voice
"Oh, there was a pool on whether or not you would be coming most bet that you would come." I said "and did you." "my dear lad we never doubted you for a second" "pulse I know you to well." I winked and spired Bell forward

I help unpack the ponies and gather some fire wood in kindle for the camp fire with Bofur "so long have you been with Bilbo?" "almost two and half months." I said "How did you meet him." Bofur asked I raised an eyebrow at that question that was get to close to a sensitive subject there was no way I was going to tell anyone, I took a breath "my house burnt down and Bilbo took me." I stated and left it at that. Bofur frowned "I'm sorry" I shook my head "don't be."
"so are you here by yourself or do you have family in the company." I lied since I suspected that the huge ginger dwarf was related to Bofur. He went on to talk about his brother who was a cook and baker in the blue mountains them he switch the topic to age "subject my age and divided by four I would be twenty-three in human years." "that would put you in your early to late eighty's." I nodded

as we walked back to camp and dinner was beef stew

I watched the company Balin Dwalin Thorin and Gandalf were nearby smoking their pipes while everyone was enjoying the beef stew which wasn't that bad. I watched the other interact with each other laughing cracking jokes I sat in small alcove in the cliff side laying on a thick blanket and had my cloak wrapped around my legs and lower chest as I read the book reading about Beran and Luthan I just got to the part where Beren see Luthen for the first time after Beren was being hunted by orc's that thought sent a shiver down my spine when I went to the library to see I could find out what creatures had attacked me that night and found out about them that day

I saw Ori looking at me with curious look in his eyes I followed his line of vision that it was't at me that it was curious about but the book I was reading
why would be interested in a book about man and she-elf I wonder I mean it was a great story
then he turned gaze away I surged my shoulders and continue on reading till my eyelid got heavy I put my book in my pack I put ear-bud as I listened to
Lost by Within Temptation on my iPod as I fell sleep

My hope is on fire
my dreams are for sale
I dance on a wire
But don't want to fail her

I walk against the strain
Fight for what I believe in
I run towards the end
Trying not to give in

She's lost in the darkness fading away
I'm still around here screaming her name
She's haunting my dreamworld trying to survive
My heart is frozen I'm losing my mind
Help me I'm buried alive!
Buried alive!

after the song was done I switch the music to relaxing thunder storm let my mind go blank.

During the two in a half week of riding horseback wasn't pleasant for my backside which was sore in the morning for the first couple days or numb when I got off to use the bathroom, but the worst thing was the chafing on my inner thighs on the seventh day about the size of my fists and red with inflammation and was warmer than the surrounding area and made standing up or down and waking and riding very uncomfortable and painful it felt like someone rubbing sand paper agent my skin I didn't tell one because that would definitely blow my cover normally I would just go commando and wear baggy sweet pants let the swelling go down but I couldn't do that, so I put up with it for a day or two till we made pit stop at Bree to buy supplies where I bought some basic medical supplies with the money from the pool and above all a bottle of lotion for my thigh

Bofur, Noir, Fili and Kili I talked to the most since the others their distance from me I guess they were still not distrusting of me just cautious around me
Bofur talked about his life growing up in the blue mountains and Fili and Kili crack jokes and told me about the pranks they had played on each other as dwarfings sometimes I could not breathe a because it was laughing so hard. I admit it felt good to laugh after so long I on good term with each of them but when they asked about my past I quickly changed the subject so far everything was good

then on the full moon we stopped on the side of a cliff for the night.

Whew so what did you think?

I added Lily brown who is Rosie Cotton mother

I made Raven a several years older than Fili and Kili but 5 to 8 years young than Ori in Dwarf years () because in other stories most of the OCs are younger than the Durin twins so I made Raven older and since a dwarf live to 250-300 years (give or take if they don't die in battle) and I put some issuers for Raven due to my personal experience (sore back side form hours of riding and chafing) which has happen to me not pleasant at all

drop a review if you want interaction with Raven with a one particular dwarf or dwarves

see you soon-Angel
