Chapter 6

All too soon it was night fall. Everyone locked themselves in the diner, boarding up the doors with chairs and anything else they could find, then waited around for whatever to happen. Suddenly the lights in the diner were shut off and they were now surrounded by darkness.

"Great, what now huh?" Puck asks.

Quinn looks around before looking up at the ceiling.

"Where's the entrance to the roof?" she asks.

"It's this way." Will says pointing to the back.

"Okay, you two…" she points to Leroy and Puck."…come with us. The rest of you stay here. San…" Quinn starts. She doesn't have to say anything else because Santana understands what she means.

"You got it, Q" Santana replies.

"Let's go." Quinn says.

Will and Leroy guide them to the entrance of the roof. Once they are on the roof they all turn to Quinn.

"Alright, what now Xena. You got us up here, so now just tell us what the hell we're doing." Leroy remarks.

"Hey guys listen." Will says.

They quiet down and listened to their surroundings. It was a pretty far, but they could hear the faint sound of music playing.

"What the hell is that?" Puck asks

"It sounds almost like…" Will starts.

"Ice cream." Leroy finishes.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me." Puck says.

The sound of the ice cream music starts to get closer till they see the light of the van pulling into the diner.

"Alright there's a safety switch on the side of your gun, you wont be needing it." As Quinn says this, they all look at their guns and turns off the switch off. "Push it all the way down, you'll hear two clicks. When this starts you'll want to hold on tight. Or else you'll blow your hand off."

Puck and Will turn from their weapons to look at Leroy. Leroy felt eyes on him, he was after all the one with the prosthetic hook hand.

"The fuck yall looking at me for?" he asks.

The two quickly turned back to the road. Leroy shook his head before also looking back at the approaching van. When the ice cream truck came, they were ready. The music continued to play long after the van stops. As if to taunt the civilians.

When the music finally stops, it's an eerie silence. A tall woman wearing what looks to be a blue track suit exit's the truck.

"No fucking way. Is that Coach Sylvester?" Santana says out loud.

"You know her?" Brittany asks as she and Rachel look at her curiously.

"Uh yea. She used to be mine and Quinn's cheerleading coach in high school. A demon that woman was." Santana says muttering the ending.

"You were a cheerleader?" Brittany asks sounding rather amused.

Santana grins back. "You know it, babe." she flirts making Brittany giggle a little. "Question is…where the hell did she get an ice cream truck?"

Coach Sylvester steps in front.

"Oh please she doesn't look that bad." Puck scoffs. Hearing him, Coach's head snaps towards him. "Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh shit." he mutters panicked.

She lets out a loud screech. Her mouth stretching beyond her normal reach, eyes and teeth shaped like Emma's was. Her arms and legs began to stretch out.

"Holy fuck!"

She starts galloping on all fours towards the building, but was stopped when Quinn steps in front of a frozen Puck and starts to unload bullets into her body sending her flying to the ground from the impact. Even while she was down and pretty much dead, Quinn took a few more shots. Double tap.

"Sorry coach." Quinn says in a monotone.

The guys stood there looking dumbfounded, not believing what they had just witnessed.

"I-is that it?" Puck asks shaky.

From a distance they saw a multitude of car headlight heading towards them.

"Far from it." Quinn replies.

Inside of the cars, the people were transforming. Bodies shaking just like the cops.

"Shoot them! NOW!" Quinn shouts.

They all start shooting at the approaching cars. Gun shoots ran out into the night sky. Bullets hit cars, resulting in some crashing into each other.

"Keep going!" Quinn commands. She heads to the other side of the roof and pulls out a grenade launcher. She aims it at the approaching car from the other side. She managed to hit a large truck, making it explored taking out some other cars with it, but not enough. Without missing a beat, Quinn takes out her gun and continues shooting.

Soon the cars stopped alongside of the diner and people began to get out. The shooting stops as they watched the people approach. Quinn jumps in front and starts shooting again at the approaching people.

"Whoa what are you doing? They're just regular people!" Puck yells.

"Not anymore. Keep firing." Quinn commands. Reluctantly the guys start shooting. "And whatever you do, don't let them get to the windows!" she shouts over the shooting.

Inside everybody was hiding while still armed and ready. They were startled when something smashed into the window.

"What was that?" Rachel asks in a whisper.

"I don't know."

They look around to see what it was or what would happen. Santana readied her gun waiting for something…anything to happen. It was oddly quiet except for the shooting outside.

Suddenly an injured Judy was snatched away from Russell's arms.

"Judy!" Russell yells.

He runs after his wife. He tries to grab her before they took her away. The others come to help him, but who ever had a hold on her was stronger. During the game of tug a war, something or rather someone grabs Rachel's arm.

"Rachel!" Brittany runs over to help her friend.

"There you are." It…he says in an eerie voice. His face, sharp baby teeth and hollow eyes.

Rachel lets out a scream. She tries pulling away but wasn't strong enough.

A knife comes out of nowhere cutting off the hand that had its hold on Rachel's arm. Rachel and Brittany fall back to the floor. Rachel looks up to find it was Quinn who cut off the hand. During all of the commotion, Judy was taken. Quinn shoots at the window, getting any that dare to approach the window.

On the roof, they see the people starting to retreat.

"They're leaving. Hey, they're leaving!" Will shouts.

"Holy fuck." Puck mutters not believing what he just did or witnessed. This was turning out the be some vacation.

Russell scrambles to get to the door and go after Judy, but Quinn blocks him.

"No…no no…She…she's alive. We have to go get her." Russell says trying to fight off Quinn.

"You can't, she's gone." Quinn says. Her words slow Russell down. "She's gone." she says lower.

Russell's body goes limp as he slouches into the nearest chair. Katy runs over to her father hugging him, crying over the loss of her mother. Quinn watches with an unfamiliar heavy heart. She turns her head to find Brittany and Santana helping Rachel to her feet. Without much thought she rushes over to her side.

"Are you okay?" Quinn asks. She looks for any injuries on Rachel, thankfully finding none.

"Yea, I'm fine." Rachel says. She looks at Quinn. "Thank you."

Before Quinn could let herself get caught in Rachel's eyes, she steps back.

"I told you not to do anything brave." Quinn says with a hard tone.

Rachel blinks at Quinn not knowing what to say, confused by Quinn's sudden demeanor change. Before she could say anything, Puck, Leroy and Will came running from the back.

"Hey, we got them running." Puck says. They looked around. On one side they saw Katy was crying hugging on her father. Russell's face void of emotion and just frozen. "What did we miss?" Puck asks.

"Someone needs to be on the roof." Quinn says instead.

"I'll go." Will says. He was about to head to the roof, but was stopped by Leroy.

"Hold on. We're not doing anything until you tell us what the fuck is going on around here?" Leroy demands. Everyone looks from Leroy to Quinn.

Everyone gathers around in the backroom where Quinn had most of the gun supplies laid out. They sat around waiting for Quinn to explain.

"The last time God lost faith in man He sent a flood." A pause. "This time, He sent what you see outside." Quinn begins.

"Wait are you saying this is like the apocalypse or something?" Brittany asks.

"More like an extermination." Quinn answers. "Those things…people outside are just possessed. Vessels as they call them. Weakest willed are the easiest to turn." Quinn explains.

"Whoa possessed? Possessed by what? Demons?" Puck asks.

"No" A pause. "By Angels." Quinn says. Everyone, except Santana who already knew, gasps.

"I don't know what version you've been reading." Russell jumps in. "But in my version the angels are the good guys. They wouldn't take and kill my wife for no damn good reason." he hisses out.

"I'm sorry, but the truth isn't that simple."

"This is bullshit." Puck says.

"Wait a minute, how do you know so much about this?" Will asks. Everyone looks at Quinn expectantly. None more than Rachel.

"I'm not really sure how to answer that." Quinn says honestly.

"Well try." Leroy says forcefully.

Quinn takes a moment. "I know because…because…before last night, the one who sent me was one of them." Quinn answers.

"Who sent you?" Rachel repeats curiously

"Wait are you like one of them?" Puck asks alarmed.

Quinn sighs. "Yes and no." A pause. "I'm chosen."

The guys look like they were about to raise their guns at Quinn.

"Before you do that you might want to hear what else I have to say." Quinn says calmly. The guys lower their guns a little but were still a little apprehensive. "Good. Now like I said I can't explain it, but I'm chosen. Michael sent me."

"Michael. You mean like the arch angel?" Katy asks

"Yes. He was imprisoned in heaven. Which is why he sent me."

"Sent you for what?" Will asks. Before Quinn could ask, Leroy cuts in.

"Whoa, whoa you guys aren't really believing this bull are you?" Leroy questions. "Oh yea, she's was sent by an angel and I was birth by the fucking Easter Bunny." he says sarcastically.

"Really?" Brittany says excited.

"Brittany sweetie I think he was just kidding." Rachel says.

"Oh" From the corner Santana smiles at the cute confused pout on Brittany's face.

"Well how else would you explain any of this Lee." Will says. "I mean you have to admit, those people out there aren't exactly our regular customers."

"I don't know, but I sure as hell aint believing this God crap this kid is dishing out. I mean…I don't even believe in God." Leroy says

"Well I'm sure that that doesn't really matter anymore now does it. Seeing as He doesn't believe in you or this either." Santana says.

"Do you people seriously hear yourselves right now? Angels…possessed people…none of that stuff is real!" Leroy exclaims. Rachel wants to say something on her father's behalf, but she just can't. There's a lot of things that's happening and she can't explain any of it.

"And suddenly the stuff from Supernatural all makes sense." Puck says out loud. Everybody looked at him. "What?"

"So are you here to protect us?" Katy asks.

Quinn looks at the teenager, who strangely looks familiar in some way.

"No. Not you." She says. Katy's, along with everyone else's, face drops. "Her" Quinn looks over at Rachel. Everyone looks at Rachel shocked. Including Rachel.

"What? Wh-why me?" Rachel asks surprised.

"Because your baby is the only hope mankind has left." Quinn answers simply.

Rachel looks at Quinn before laughing, hoping Quinn was joking. When Quinn doesn't even crack a smile, Rachel knew she wasn't kidding.

"No…no this can't be happening. I'm just some small town Jewish girl from Ohio. I'm nothing special." Rachel argues.

"I beg to differ." Quinn says. "Look it really doesn't matter who you are or where you're from. Either your baby lives or dies." Quinn says loading the bullets into the magazine. She couldn't will herself to look at Rachel telling her there was a possibility her baby could die, and Rachel was just shocked beyond words.

"So what, we're supposed to wait here till the baby comes?" Puck asks

"Yep"

"But I'm only 8 months pregnant." Rachel points out. Everyone groans.

"How are we supposed to wait here for a month?" Russell asks exhausted.

"We won't have to." Quinn says still loading not looking at anyone.

"It's coming early isn't it?" Rachel asks scared.

Quinn finally willed herself to look at Rachel, regretting it a little too, seeing the scared look on her face. "Yes" She goes to look at everyone in the room. "Look I really don't care what you people do or don't believe in. And those things out there don't care either. They just want to baby dead." Quinn points to Rachel. Leroy wraps his arms around his distraught daughter. Inside Quinn wishes it were her who was comforting her.

"This first attack was a test. A test of our strength. The next will be a test of our weakness. Now you can all sit here and talk about it. Or you can help me. But believe me, there is much worst on the way. And be prepared, some of you might not make it." Quinn says inserting and racking the assault rifle in her hands.
