Don't run out on your faith...

Nick popped the security DVD into the computer and fast forwarded the time to the previous night. The street was bare but it gave a good view of outside Cameron's window. They watched and waited for someone to appear but no such luck.

"I saw him at two-thirty," Brian said aloud, remembering that Cameron had been scared of the storm. "Olivia was upset so Cameron told me that he would be a big boy and that I should go and help her. It would have to be later than three. That's when Olivia was finally able to fall asleep. I went to sleep right after her."

Nick fast-forwarded the disc until the time read 3 AM. "There," he said pointing to a small dot appearing in the bottom right corner of the screen. Both detectives watched the video closely as the unknown person walked closer to Brian and Olivia's apartment and closer to the fire escape. Nick paused the screen and zoomed in onto the person, sharpening the image and then feeling bile rise in his throat. Brian felt all of the air rush out of him and was had to run to the nearest trashcan before he lost last night's dinner.

Cragen walked into the squad room about to ask what was going on when he saw the image blown up on Nick's computer screen. "Son of a bitch."

Brian heaved again into the trashcan as the thoughts started racing in his mind. His son had been kidnapped by the sadistic bastard that had ruined his life for a good year. The bastard that had tortured Olivia and caused her so much pain. Cameron had been taken by William Lewis.

At the apartment, Olivia had finally left the loneliness of her room and was now sitting on the couch with Joanna and a warm bowl of soup in her hands. She may not feel like eating but the little one inside of her was starving. "Do you think they found something that could help us on the tape?"

"I really don't know," Joanna said as she muted the television, "but I hope so and I know they won't stop looking until they bring him home safely."

Olivia knew that Brian wouldn't give up until he found Cameron but that didn't stop her from worrying and it didn't stop her from feeling like she should be out there helping look for him. "He's probably so scared," Olivia whispered in a voice almost childlike, "and hungry. He didn't eat very much at dinner yesterday."

Joanna placed a gentle hand Olivia's leg, "they'll find him."

Olivia sighed and leaned back against the couch, closing her eyes and trying to conjure up who took her son. Her back was hurting her again and she just wanted to scream.

"I'm going to kill the bastard," Brian seethed through gritted teeth. The anger was evident as the vein in his neck bulged out and his knuckled kept clenching into a fist.

"He was released a week ago on his own recognizance," Nick read off of his computer screen. "This is bullshit. We need his whereabouts and we needed them yesterday."

"We know what he's capable of," Brian snapped, "we have to find my son."

"Are you going to tell Olivia?" The question came from Cragen who was imagining how hard this must be for Brian and even worse; Olivia.

"I can't," Brian answered with his voice soft and less angry, "she can't handle it. I can't tell her. We need to find him, okay? We just need to find him so I can bring him home."

Fin and Amanda came rushing into the squad room with several copies of papers with Lewis's face plastered on them. "We'll hit the neighborhood and ask anyone if they saw this man with a kid. It's all we can do right now until we get a lead."

"Olivia might now a place," Nick interjected quietly and Brian looked at him like he was growing two heads. "We don't know EVERYTHING that happened during the time she was kidnapped," he clarified.

Brian swallowed heavily as his throat turned to cotton. "I can't tell her..."

"Do you want to find him?" Nick wasn't trying to pick a fight but they didn't have many options when it came to finding Cameron and he figured when they did find him, Brian would forgive him for pushing this.

Olivia had just taken some Tylenol for her back when Brian and Nick had showed up and she hoped they came bearing good news. "Please tell me you have a lead," she said entering the living room and awkwardly sitting down on the couch. Her belly had really been complicating things for her.

"Liv," Nick said stepping to the plate since he knew Brian wouldn't be able to handle it, "we have a lead."

"Who?" Olivia looked to Brian for an answer but he couldn't look her in the eye. He couldn't bare to see her face when she heard that her son was taken by a true evil. When neither man spoke Olivia grew even more anxious. "You're worrying me more than I already am and I didn't think that was possible," she announced, "please, just tell me."

"It's Lewis."

Olivia froze and Joanna could feel Olivia's hand go limp in hers. It was like Olivia had disappeared. There was a distant look on her face and her breathing came in slow ragged breaths. Nobody knew what was happening except Brian. He was by her side in a matter of seconds coaching her on how to take deep breaths. "Liv, breathe," he said gently, "it's okay. You're okay. You're safe. It's me, Liv. It's just me."

When Olivia pulled herself back to reality she couldn't help the tears that flowed down her cheeks. "I don't- I can't-"

"We're going to find him," Nick assured her in a strong tone, "we'll bring him home safely, without a scratch, okay? I promise you. We just... we need to know if there was a place where he might go. A place that maybe he took you to..."

Olivia shook her head adamantly, "no. Everywhere he took me is documented in my statement... everything that I remember." Olivia shook her head, trying to clear the millions of thoughts she had swimming around in it. "What now?"

"Fin and Rollins are walking the neighborhood and showing his picture as we speak. If that doesn't work then we check every beach house on Long Island," Nick replied.

"Go," Olivia demanded with less force than she was hoping for, "go find Cameron. Tell him that when he gets home I will make whatever he wants for dinner."

Brian cupped Olivia's cheek in his hand and gave her a swift kiss on the lips. "I'll find him." Olivia nodded and watched as he and Nick turned to leave but she wasn't sure how much of his statement was true. What if he couldn't find Cameron in time? What if it was too late? More tears came spilling out at the thought of never seeing her precious little boy again. "I'm going to go lay down," Olivia said to Joanna in such a broken tone that brought tears to Joanna eyes.

Olivia lay quiet in her room until she saw the living room light get turned out from the slit underneath the door. She waited a good thirty minutes to be sure that Joanna was asleep before getting up as quietly as she good and heading toward the fire escape. Lewis had taken her life once and she was damned if he did it again. "Hang on, Cam," she whispered to herself, "Mama's coming."
