Gasp! Could this be? No! There's no way! An update? For this story!? Implausible!
Oh but it is! An update for this wonderful story that I still haven't made an outline for! That's beside the point right now.
Along with the fact that I have a couple of other stories started right now, I have a whole lot of real life stuff going on. That just makes writing a whole lot harder. My apologies for that.
Anyhow, onto other things. Since I last updated this fic we have definitely grown in followers and favorites! I'm slightly surprised, but hey I can't predict what people like so who am I to judge?
Either way, I'm glad you guys like this fic and I'll definitely try to keep up on whatever it is you guys seem to love.
So I hadn't worked on this fic in so long that I actually had to go back and read the start of it and I'm a bit amazed. There was a ton of grammatical errors and other flaws that I spotted. It surprises me that I allowed that stuff to be posted. I mean, I didn't even give Sora a height. Little things like this are just stuff that get to me.
At least I'll be correcting these mistakes in this chapter and the ones to come.
Shall I respond to some reviews now? I think I shall.
Isseixrias: Sorry about the shortness. I'll try to keep them at least above 4,000 but that's about all I can do. I want these chapters to be short and sweet unlike my other dxd fic that is very information heavy.
ShinobuAnicca: Glad you're enjoying it. Pawns are indeed usually key players so I'll have to at least try a little when picking them. The revelations will definitely be a sight to see. Especially with what is to come.
hi76hi6: Perhaps, perhaps. I'll have to think on it but it could be a possibility.
So the chapter will finally begin after a couple of month's hiatus!
The day of the classroom observations were upon us and that meant… more eyes.
Honestly, they say it's a visit but this is not what I had in mind. I feel like I'm in a zoo!
A quick in and out was what I had in mind. Maybe something that would show the adults what was going on and then be done with it.
This was, however, not the case as the parents and guardians lingered in the classroom. They were watching our every move from a distance like hawks.
For some the distance wasn't even a thing. This was sorely true for me.
Over both of my shoulders were two fully suited individuals watching every movement I made. Each decision I made was being heavily calculated and reviewed.
One of said individuals was directly over my shoulder. Each passing second I could feel his breath hit me.
These two men happen to be my servants Arthur and Lancelot the stalker.
Arthur's stalker happens to be the one that is breathing on me in an annoying, yet still refined, way.
Apparently when Azazel was signing me up for school over here, he didn't take the chance of putting himself down as my guardian, and instead left it to the most responsible of my little rag tag group. That said individual being Arthur.
When Arthur caught wind of our observation through the grapevine he made it his mission to attend. That meant the stalker wasn't going to be far behind.
It isn't hard to imagine the comments some of the "normal" students were making. I say normal because obviously the devils in my class could care less. Except for my rival, but everything seems to surprise his small mind.
"Is he filthy rich!?" One student exclaimed.
"I knew it! The second I saw him I knew it!" Another student spoke while getting a little to hyper over his imagination.
"You think he would get his girlfriend some expensive gifts?" A female student said while a sly grin crossed her face.
The imagination in some of these humans is ridiculous.
Suit= money. Apparently, this is what they believe.
Even the teacher was feeling strange because of the two men standing beside me. It wasn't hard to notice. He attempted to usher the two of them to the back with the rest of the adults but Arthur refused. He stated that it was important for him to be as close as possible.
"Back straight. Watch your elbows."
Arthur would make quick corrections to anything I would do slightly wrong.
I like being presentable as much as the next guy but this was a bit much.
He wasn't usually this strict but maybe because it's a public thing he's taking it up a notch.
"Your breathing is erratic."
Arthur's stalker, however, would make strange corrections of what I might be doing.
He was taking the smallest of things and making a big deal about them.
I'm not sure if it's because Arthur corrects everything else or if it's just because he's really that nitpicky.
Class had already started and it was supposed to be English. I put emphasis on supposed to.
For whatever reason, the teacher decided to bring in a ton of PVC clay today. He was over ecstatic about today too.
He told us that our assignment today was to make whatever comes to mind.
Each student was given a brick of clay and that was it.
Both Arthur and Lancelot were staring at the brick of clay obviously waiting for it to take shape.
This… I didn't ask for this.
What load of crap is this anyways? This is like heading into a math class and being taught history. Nobody signed up for history when they took math!
If I wanted to make art, I would take a class on it or maybe join a club for it.
Without giving it much thought, I simply smashed the clay with my fist. In one swift motion, the clay was majorly flattened. The thud from the impact my fist made echoed in the class and a few people even looked at me.
[Really? You're just going to smash it? Not even going to maybe make something idiotic like breasts like that Matsuda kid over there?]
Oh? What does the dragon with a sense of style have to say now? Are you going to tell me about your teenage years as a dragon making clay sculptures?
[Alright, alright. Just figured I'd ask. And let's not talk about my teenage years, shall we?]
Sorry about that, Albion. Just a little on edge is all. And what's so bad about them? Don't tell me you were the dragon with the pizza face or something like that.
[Let's just… not talk about it. Great work on that clay! Really good craftsmanship!]
Ok… You just… try and be normal for when we have to fight.
Way to change the topic.
Either way, I quite like what I've created! Yes, yes. The slightly uneven flatness has a nice look! It is very unique if you ask me.
However, that's not the same answers I'm getting from some of these students. They must think I'm an idiot for being so stupid as to merely punch the clay rather than kneed it into something intricate.
In another few seconds something unexpected happened.
CLAP CLAP
From directly behind and slightly above me, somebody was clapping. Not just one person but two.
It was both Arthur and Lancelot.
"Very good."
"Just what I expected!"
They both complimented what I had done and Arthur's stalker even patted me on the back a few times. With a good bit of Rook strength added in the pats too I might add.
I had expected something along the lines of "That will never do," or "No, no! You have to kneed it like this," from them but this is far from that.
In actuality, this should've been obvious. I'm there king! While I do need to be presentable, I can still make decisions and my followers will more than likely adore those decisions.
After seeing the commotion that was just caused, the teacher came over to my desk and inspected what I had done.
He looked deeply disappointed while I had a smile of confidence.
He tried to rest his hand on my shoulder as if he was about to console me, but Arthur's stalker was quick to brush his hand off me for whatever reason.
This surprised the teacher but didn't stop him from speaking.
"Umm… Isn't there maybe… Something better you could do? Maybe even just a cup? A bowl? Just… anything would be better than… this."
The teacher pointed to my clay with a troubled expression.
"Why? You said make anything that comes to mind. This is the result."
I spoke plainly as if it was obvious that I wasn't going to do anymore work.
"But-"
The teacher was quickly caught off by a more than intimidating man gripping his shoulder.
"I think he did a great job. Don't you?"
Arthur's stalker was not a small guy in any way. He was easily bigger than the teacher and that was more than enough to persuade him.
"Y-You're absolutely right! It's a work of art! It's wonderful!"
The teacher quickly rustled his way away from Arthur's stalker before shuffling over to another corner of the room where a group of students were gathering.
They were muttering something about a naked something but I really didn't care.
I was more surprised by how Arthur's stalker is very devout in making sure I'm pleased. He was a good addition indeed!
Then again, that admiration is a little… well… deadly at times.
That's beside the point. I can see that I at least don't have anybody in my peerage that's more trouble than their worth. That's good to know.
Lunch break started and I quickly realized that without Roxas, I don't have anybody that I can really hang out with.
There was Arthur and Lancelot but they wanted to survey the entire school grounds. It was always in Arthur's nature to be fully prepared no matter the situation. As for Lancelot, well it was always in his nature to follow Arthur I guess.
This coupled with my inability to make human friends at this school left me surprisingly alone and with only one option.
"Why are you following me again?"
I had to hang out with my rival, Issei…
We were currently heading over to a location with Asia that I guess he was going to meet his buchou, Rias, at.
In his hands he was holding a naked PVC clay statue of said buchou. He was gripping onto it as if I had plans to steal it from him.
I wouldn't want to touch that thing even with my paws. Don't even get me started on how chaotic it might be if it touched one of my tails.
"It's not like I want to. It's just that I have nothing else to do."
I stated as plain as day to him my reasoning while I walked with him and Asia.
He continued his suspicious glare towards me. Obviously, he still had thoughts of me stealing his precious but those soon subsided somewhat.
"Alright… So those two back there…"
"You already know one. The other is that one's old friend and before you ask, yes."
Knowing what he was going to ask I answer the question he already had in the back of his head.
It was more than obvious he was going to ask if he was a devil or not.
"Piece?"
"Rook."
He seemed satisfied with his questions and we soon arrived at what looked like the destination.
Soon enough both his buchou and fukibuchou arrived and they gave praise to his little statue.
"It is well made."
The red haired devil looked over the statue with a smile before handing it back to her Pawn.
"Ara ara, as expected of Ise-kun who looks and touches Buchou's body every day."
Akeno smiled while she held her hand in front of her mouth as she stared at the statue.
These compliments were met with good reception as the sad excuse that is my rival merely laughed and scratched his head.
"Would you make one for me as well next time? If you want to reproduce my body I will remove my clothes. You can touch me."
The Queen, Akeno, gave my rival a devilish look as she pulled him in a little closer to her.
"Seriously, Akeno-san!?"
My rival had a large blush on his face as Akeno nodded in confirmation.
Millions of ideas must have been crossing his mind at light speed as he almost started to drool.
Before any more ideas could plague his head, both of his cheeks were tugged by Asia and Rias.
This is my rival… Our rival.
[I can only imagine the torment Ddraig is going through.]
Is it bad that I feel bad for him?
[No… No, it isn't.]
How hard do you think it would be to beat him right now? Better yet, how easy do you think it would be to beat him while he's having some erotic imagination?
[Judging from your fight with him before and how he seems to act, I'd say pretty easy.]
Huh… I'm going to take your word for that.
[Have I ever steered you wrong, partner?]
No, because you've never steered me! You didn't even help when I needed directions around this school!
[But look at what happened. You're still alive so that's all that matters.]
I… guess? I don't even know any more.
"Sora, are you listening?"
Rias was looking at me strangely along with the others.
I suppose I got a little too into my talk with Albion and must have been completely out of it. Apparently, even Kiba showed up while I was out of it.
"Uh… No, mind saying that again?"
"I asked about your new piece. Ise just told me you got one."
"I told your Pawn what was needed and that is all you'll get. He knows what he looks like. What more do you need?"
I asked while sounding a little irritated by her questioning. There's only so much that I can take of questioning.
My irritated tone was taken note of and Rias tried to look apologetic.
"My apologies. I didn't mean to pry. It is simply important to me that I know of all the supernatural beings in my territory."
Honestly, I know I haven't been around devils my whole life but if they're all this questioning I might not want to be around them. There's only so much stuff that I will allow being asked.
Next they'll want to know if I'm harboring some kind of criminal. Not that I would EVER do something like that.
Knowing that if I opened my mouth again I might say something wrong, I merely nodded that I understood and that was it.
In the distance, flashes of photography could be heard along with the loud roar of a crowd.
This caught everyone's attention and it even managed to grab mine. Not for the noise but for a certain smell.
It was just so familiar that I felt like I should know what it was. This smell simply wasn't clicking with my memory for some reason.
Of course everyone wanted to check out what was going on and so we proceeded to the area of the source.
We went into what I believed was the large gym and sure enough, there was a crowd of people surrounding someone.
From the back of the crowd it was difficult to perceive who might be the person that was being surrounded. As we drew closer and closer to this person, however, that changed.
The person that the crowd was in love with was definitely a bishoujo wearing an anime character's costume by the look of it. The outfit was certainly familiar to me as I knew that I had seen it somewhere before.
It was some kind of Magical Girl… Mil Kis… something outfit. I couldn't remember the exact name of it but it was familiar.
The girl was twirling around a staff doing cute poses for the cameramen who were snapping pictures frantically.
As the rest of the group caught up to me, whom took the lead, one in particular was surprised.
No, not my rival. It was in fact Rias.
"Wh-"
That was all she managed to get out before freezing in place. The look of shock was very evident on her face.
"Hey hey! You, whose doing a photography shoot on a public path!"s
The one boy from the student council, Saji, went in front of the cameramen and started to shoo them away.
Other members from the student council came quickly behind Saji and started to assist in driving away the onlookers.
"Hey hey, disperse disperse! Today's the day for displaying classes to the public! Don't make a ruckus at this kind of place!"
Saji managed to do a good enough job as he chased out the remaining people.
The only people left were the devils and the cosplaying girl.
"You too, please don't wear that kind of costume. Wait, would you be a parent perhaps? Even if that's the case, you know there's a dress code according to the place. This is troublesome."
"Eh, but this is my uniform "
The cosplaying girl continued to make poses even though the crowd of photographers had already left.
This slightly angered Saji but he then took note of Rias' presence and quickly bowed his head.
"Oh, it's Rias-senpai. You came at the right time. I was just guiding Maou-sama and senpai's Otou-san."
As Saji turned his head towards the back, under the guidance of Sona Kaichou, the crimson haired males approached.
"What's this? Saji, I always tell you to settle things concisely-."
The strict kaichou said that, but as soon as she saw the cosplayer, she stopped speaking.
"Sona-chan! Found you "
The cosplayer rushed towards Sona and latched onto her.
Cosplaying, childish… why does that seem familiar?
Although the situation seemed to be a mixed field of confusion, awkwardness, and shock Sirzechs spoke calmly.
"Ah, Serafall-sama. So you came here as well."
Sirzechs spoke directly to the cosplayer calling her Serafall.
S-S-Serafall?! Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
While I went into a slight panic, Rias told Issei about how Serafall was one of the four Maous. This drove him into a panic that was slightly similar to mine.
"Serafall-sama, it's been a long time."
Rias greeted the young looking Maou while trying to be as proper as possible.
"Ara, Rias-chan. Long time~!Have you been doing well?"
The childish Maou, however, was not the same.
"Y-Yes. Thanks to you. Did you come today for Sona's class visit?"
"Yeah! Sona-chan is really mean. She didn't tell me about today! Geez! Because of the shock, Onee-chan was going to attack Heaven!"
That isn't surprising to me. I know of what this girl is capable of! Escape plan go! Which door is the closest?
"Ise. Greet her."
Rias told her Pawn to greet the Maou all the while I was inching my way away from the group.
"N-Nice to meet you, I am Hyoudou Issei. I am Rias Gremory-sama's servant, pawn! I'll be under your care!"
"Nice to meet you! I am the Maou Serafall Leviathan ! Call me Levi-tan!"
Again, Serafall responds in an overly childlike manner which made almost everyone save the adult devils in the room feel odd.
"Ah, I should introduce another. Sora?"
Rias turned her head to the side expecting me to be close by but was met with zero result.
Halfway there.
"Wasn't he right here a second ago?"
Even my rival was puzzled by my disappearance.
I'm almost there! A few more steps and then I can make a mad dash!
"Sora? Who's that Sona-chan?"
Serafall looked to her sister for information but her sister quickly averted eye contact. More than likely because of how embarrassing her older sister is.
"He has white spiky hair. You couldn't miss him."
My rival was giving a description of me and things started to click in the little Maou's head.
She made an audible gasp as she spotted me only a few feet away from the doors.
"Sora-chan?!"
Please no! Run, Run!
I turned my body around on a dime and started to run for the doors. They were almost within my reach. I could almost taste freedom.
In an instant, I opened the door and went to continue my sprint. That's when calamity struck.
Serafall tackled me with a hug from behind and sent me straight into the ground outside of the gym.
"It's been so long! Now we can go on adventures like we used to!"
The little Maou snuggled her head on my back and I was certain that she had a large grin on her face.
In the meantime, I tried my hardest to crawl away.
"No, no! No more adventures!"
I screamed out as if in pain when I really wasn't. I might has well had been though.
"But you like going on adventures with Levi-tan!"
Serafall stated it exactly like a child would without taking into consideration what others thought.
At this point we both looked like children with Serafall acting like one and me thrashing around underneath her.
"You know anything about this?"
What I could presume was Rias was asking somebody a question.
"I have no idea what she does in her free time. My deepest apologies Sora-san."
What sounded like Sona was shouting from a good distance away.
It was obvious she didn't want to get near her lest Serafall's affection be turned onto her.
All I want is out!
"Where did you go Sora-chan? You had Levi-tan worried! She tried to get everyone to search for you but nobody would help."
Figures she would try that but I'm just glad she didn't succeed. Who knows how many "adventures" I would've gone on if she did succeed.
"I'll never tell you!"
With my quick refusal of an answer, my head was met with an equally quick smack from a certain magical girl's staff.
"Meanie!"
"I'm mean?! You just hit me!"
Another, thwack to the head and some more bickering ensued.
In the background the murmuring of questions was very much present. The only two that somewhat understood the reasoning for the scene playing out right now were me and Serafall.
The only problem was that we were too caught up in a childish fight on the ground.
Albion, you think we can half her weight and then make a run for it?
[I'm not sure. Half Dimension could make her half her usual size. Besides that there's that bracelet. You can't exactly do anything without alerting others to our presence.]
Damnit, Albion! I don't care about repercussions right now! I just want out!
[Hahaha. In a bit of a struggle because of a reunion, are we?]
You are not helping.
[That is because I cannot.]
Ugh…
How do you get an adult kid to get off of you?
Bribe them?
"H-Hey, Serafall, I'll tell you where I went if you get off me."
"Promise?"
She wasn't a complete fool. She definitely sounded skeptical at my sudden cooperation.
Still she seemed partially fooled.
"I promise."
With my promise, Serafall got off of my back allowing me to stand up.
I dusted myself off and looked slightly down to the Maou. She was a lot shorter than I remember. I remember her being taller than me. Then again, I was extremely young back then.
Now, I'm in the lead being 5' 10" while she looks to be about Kuroka's height.
"So~?"
Serafall looked at me with a smile while she awaited my answer.
"Yeah, about that. You should've never trusted me!"
I once again turned my body in a full 180 degrees and started to bolt away.
My speed is amazing! There's no way she'll ever-
FREEZE
Catch… me… What the hell!? This isn't fair at all!
The slightly upset Serafall froze my feet in place! She has no care about hiding this kind of stuff either! My feet are blatantly frozen!
"Sora-chan, you lied to me!"
The distraught Maou came running towards me. She even runs like a kid.
"Umm… Can you explain Buchou?"
My rival looked to his master in hopes of answers but was given a shrug.
"Would you please care to explain before Serafall-sama freezes the school?"
Even Sirzechs wanted an explanation before things turned ugly.
An ice block of a school would be pretty bad.
"Ok, ok. Look, Serafall happened to be a good acquaintance of my dad so she used to come over a lot. She liked to play games with me whenever she came over."
"Our adventures were the best!"
Serafall exclaimed that while she was now riding on my back.
This girl… I swear.
"Yeah, I guess you could call freezing an entire forest an adventure."
"But we had to defeat the evil monster that hated all magical girls!"
"You mean that little bug akuma?! It flew in your face and you froze our forest!"
"It was attacking me!"
She was being completely serious! It didn't even sound like she was joking either!
The looks the others were giving us were a mix of surprised by Serafall's actions and not doubting a word that I was saying about what she did.
"Anyways, that's how I know her. Can I go now?"
"You still didn't tell Levi-tan why you ran away or why!"
"Ok! I was chased out! I've been living on my own with my peerage!"
"Chased?"
Why did I say that? All of this is getting to my head. I'm not even thinking straight.
At least I didn't mention fallen angels or anything along those lines.
"Can we maybe talk about it later? My feet are numb."
Serafall did a few twirls with her staff on my back and my feet were freed from her icy grasp. That didn't mean, however, that I was freed from her own. The girl was gripped onto me like a gorilla. Damn you Maou strength.
"P-Please, Onee-sama, don't ride on others backs…"
The usually strict Sona made an attempt at correcting her sister's bad behavior but was having trouble doing so.
"Huh? Oh! I get it! You want us to embrace after such a long time apart! I understand! I'm even ok with us doing it in a yuri way if you want So-tan!"
Serafall jumped off my back and ran towards Sona to try and hug her.
The slightly disturbed Sona made a mission to run away from her.
How come she isn't freezing her sister in place!? Why did she have to do that to me!?
Whatever. I shouldn't be complaining. I'm free! Thank you, Sona!
Now that I think about it, I'm surprised to see that Serafall had a sister. This is news to me. I didn't even think about how Sona looked like a strict version of Serafall. Their last names definitely didn't help with my poor deducing skills. I didn't even think to ask what Maou she was related to. I could've avoided this whole situation if I was a proper detective. Where's Watson when you need him?
Huh? Is that my rival's little statue of his master on the floor? I'm surprised to see that he managed to forget about if only for a moment.
Hey, Albion, you think we can use our dividing power to divide that in half?
[If you mean its size then sure. Again, Half Dimension would work fine.]
Ah, no. I was talking about something like cutting it perfectly in half.
[Hm? You mean like cutting a sandwich in half?]
Odd comparison but yeah.
[Perhaps you could develop a subspecies for that.]
Hey, it would be a pretty useful ability, don't you think?
[Indeed, it would.]
Without much more time for anything else to happen, the bell sounding the end of lunch break rang.
Within seconds, my rival found his statue and me staring at it in a little bit of a weird way.
His paranoia seemed to kick in as he bolted back to class as fast as possible while protecting the small figure.
Well, there goes that idea. Oh well. At least it gave me a few ideas. I suppose it wasn't a completely pointless statue.
I can tell that Serafall is indefinitely chasing after her little sister. I guess that means I'm in the clear to get the hell out of here. Back to class for more proper teachings from Arthur and the stalker.
Cut!
Let's go over that long awaited chapter now.
Sora might have seemed a bit more like a dick this chapter than usual maybe but the reasons are very much present.
There wasn't ever going to be any spectacular art being made from Sora as I don't see him as an artistic person. It makes no sense to me on how some characters just magically make a priceless piece of art when they have had no past experience.
We had a bit more dialogue from Albion because I felt like he hasn't gotten a whole lot of the lime light. He's a dragon for crying out loud! He deserves some of it, am I right?
Serafall is indeed a member of the harem as stated before and I thought it would be fun if Sora has already known her before the start of the fic. Their "adventures" are a little like war flash backs for Sora.
Bit of talk going on about a subspecies for Divine Dividing here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a subspecies has to be from desire and the ability gained needs to be related to the original power, right? I figure if Half Dimension can half the size of objects then there could be a subspecies for halving the structure of an object. Again, correct me if this isn't a possibility.
So either the next chapter will be more character interactions or something else. I haven't decided yet.
That being said, the next chapter could be a while too. I actually have a research paper I need to be doing right now, but we'll keep that between us.
Anyways, please remember to leave a review on what you liked/disliked! It's much appreciated!
