***FANG POV***

We had just been splattering paint, having fun, when suddenly Max's face scrunched together in pain. She had run off to the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

"Max? MAX?" I yelled after her. I didn't hear any response.

Iggy and I had been a little suspicious of Max's sight-abilities and itching back, but we didn't think she was a avian-human because of her age. Who's wings hatched at such a late age?

But Max was still in pain, and human or not, I was worried about her. I rushed to the door and heard sounds of moaning and groaning.

"Max?!" I screamed, banging on the door with my fist. She didn't seem to hear me. Nudge and Iggy suddenly appeared behind me, looking as horror-stricken as I was.

And the last I heard from Max was a loud thump, and then silence.

I was panicking. With a huge gulp of breath, I slammed into the wooden door and it buckled under my power. Another slam and it came down in pieces.

Max lay on the floor, surrounded by blood. Her blonde hair surrounded her head like a halo.

As soon as I picked her up, I noticed her half-opened eyelids. Her eyes were yellow, fierce looking.

Like a hawk's.

I didn't let any room in for surprise. I lifted her up effortlessly and carried her back into her bedroom. Iggy and Nudge rushed after me.

"Fang! What's wrong with Max?!" Nudge asked desperately.

"Iggy, take her outside," I told Iggy. Nudge wasn't like us. She shouldn't see this..

"NO! I know what's happening, ok? I guessed just as much as you did. I know what she and you two are, don't even try to hide it," Nudge quickly explained, gathering up some towels.

"What?" Iggy and I both hissed.

Nudge opened her own wings, allowing us to gaze at all 12 feet of them.

"And you didn't bother to even mention it?!" Iggy yelled angrily. Knowing about others out there was important, since so few of us were left. Keeping it in was a big deal.

"GUYS! Forget about me, now isn't the time! Focus on Max!" Nudge motioned with the towels. I hate to say it, but she was right.

I took a glance at Max's half-opened eyes again, and made a note of the yellow fading away, before flipping her onto her back and lifting her shirt.

Sure enough, two, tiny, baby wings stood out all bloodied. I grabbed a towel from Nudge and quickly started to dab at the blood, dying the white towel red.

After pouring on some water and finally cleaning everything up, I took a look at Max's wings.

They were tiny, and covered in downy baby fluff. But there was no mistaking it, they were those of a raptors. I chuckled to myself. Of course Max would have falcon wings, it fit her personality. Strong and fierce.

I sighed, and put Max's shirt back down. She looked to be sleeping peacefully.

"So, Nudge, want to talk about something?" I snapped, glaring at her. I watched as her eyes turned a orange/red. She had owl genes, and she was angry. I felt my own eyes turn a lime-green yellow, like a raven's. Even Iggy's eyes were turning a dark brown color.

"I'm sorry I kept it from you. I wanted to make sure I could trust you," Nudge snapped back, crossing her arms in a defiant pose.

"Make sure you could trust us? Your own kind?" Iggy hissed." You've known us for years now, and not once did you think of telling us?!"

"I'm sorry, alright! I was going to tell you sometime! And I wasn't even sure if you guys were like me! Did you ever think of mentioning to me?" Nudge demanded.

"We didn't suspect you," I glared back. I glanced at Max, my eyes softening. She looked so peaceful and innocent. She didn't know what any of this was. For all she knew, she was an alien from another planet.

"Look! She's waking up!" Nudge exclaimed. Max's eyes began to open, now back at her soft chocolate brown color.

"We'll talk about this later…" I warned.

Now it was time to educate Max about herself.

Sorry for the shortest chapter ever, but I wanted to give this little scene from Fang's point of view and make Nudge's betrayal more clear to the public.

Anyways.. I really don't want to do this.. But I'm gonna put a minimum number of reviews till this next chapter is posted. So many followers, but no reviews?! Tsk tsk tsk...

So at least 5 till the next chapter.
