obugg7: Such a dedicated reader (FF won't let me un-underline this!). And you're not rushing me! I really don't have anything else to do, and you guys are awesome readers.

Maximumride062000: You really want this updated, don't you?

RenegadeChyld: Shh.. don't say anything! It will all come in time

Sorry the chapter's so short, but I desperately needed to update and felt like this needed its own chapter.

Disclaimer: Do I have to keep repeating myself? Me no own MR.

"Hey, Max. Wanna see something?" Iggy asked excitedly. Nudge and Fang nodded eagerly with him.

"Sure?" I wasn't sure exactly what they were so excited about showing me.

"Aren't you gonna ask what?" Iggy demanded.

"Fine. What?"

"You can come watch us fly!" Nudge announced.

"Really?" I asked, excited too. Even Fang was grinning.

"Yeah, we can go now," Iggy told me.

We were piling into Fang's car to drive off to the mountains (apparently we had to be as far away from civilization as possible) when Angel came skipping down the driveway and climbed into the car with us.

"Angel? What are you doing?" I asked. Angel was being really strange.

"Coming with you. I wanna fly too!" Angel said cheerfully.

"How'd you know we were going?" Fang asked. Angel just pointed at her head. Why was she being so cryptic?

"Ok, I guess you can come…but you have to promise to keep it all a secret, ok Angel?" Nudge compromised, treating Angel like, well, a seven year old.

"Yay!"

After we were far enough from civilization (about TWO whole hours away, to be exact) we climbed down into the trees. As soon as we did, Fang whipped open his wings. Nudge and Iggy followed. I gawked.

"Don't look at us like we're aliens. If we're aliens, so are you!" Nudge giggled.

Without any hesitation, Fang beat down once with his huge wings while he jumped. He gained 4 feet. Another flap sent him flying 15 feet into the air. Nudge launched herself off a rock, Iggy trailing close behind while keeping a hand on her foot.

In less than 30 seconds, all three were soaring in the skies. I gazed up at them with jealousy. And then I remembered that I would soon be able to do that to.

And then I remembered something else. Angel. She had wings. Why hadn't she flown yet?

And for about the billionth time, Angel seemed to read my mind. "I'm not up there… because I don't know how to fly. I got my wings last year."

My heart softened for the little girl. "Why don't you try?" I suggested.

Angel scrambled onto the same rock that Nudge and Iggy launched off of. She unfolded her 3 foot wings in all their pure white glory. With the sun shining down on her blonde locks and her wings out behind her, she looked like a true angel.

Angel beat her wings fast, while holding her ground. She was warming up, I realized. With a gulp of breath and a fierce look of determination, Angel jumped off.

I admit, I thought for a second that I'd have to deal with some broken bones. But then I watched on with pride as my little sister beat her wings hard, concentrating, and gaining height. Now Fang, Nudge, and Iggy (well, he was just listening really) all flew nearby, watching the little chick fly for the first time.

And you wouldn't believe the looks of joy on Angel's face when she finally got the hang of flying. She was swooping and soaring, holding her arms out behind her. Iggy and Nudge joined her, while Fang flew back down to me. He gracefully landed on that launching rock.

"You wanna fly with me?" Fang asked, holding a hand out. I looked at him like he was crazy.

"But I can't fly!" I protested. Fang rolled his eyes.

"I know, dumbass. I can carry you."

"Well…" I trailed off.

"Too late," Fang yelled as he launched into the air towards me, swooping down to pick me up from behind before surging upwards.

"FANG!" I shrieked. "Put me down! I'm gonna die!"

"I won't let you," Fang winked.

I sucked in my breath and held on tighter to Fang's arms. My back was against his chest, and I faced downwards towards the ground.

I immediately decided that I liked being in the air. A lot. I watched with pure amazement as we flew higher and higher, the ground shrinking with each flap. Nudge, Iggy, and Angel all flew nearby, swerving close. Nudge laughed at what must have been the overjoyed look on my face.

And all of a sudden, I didn't feel Fang's arms around my waist anymore. And I was free falling.
