Hello once again, fellow and faithful readers! I am SuperHeroTimeFan, and I am back with another new chapter of your favorite story, Path of the Padawan. I would like to thank all of the people who reviewed and liked my story, especially The Christian Jedi, Logan GC, JacklyinKarst, KrautYank, RozemMaiden7, ByrdDog66, DaedricHoplite, ocnarf, Aback, and many of the Guest reviewers. Now, as usual, I shall answer all of your concerns and questions before I start the story. To one of the Guests, I don't know if I can PM you because, I don't think that I can due to you not being an author. RozenMaiden7, Ahsoka will not really fall in love with any member of the Team, but that may change. JacklyinKarst, you are a really good friend to me, and I am glad that you liked my story ! To answer your questions that I answered via Private Message, more characters of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will appear later on. Now, with everyone's questions answered, here is Chapter 4 of Path of the Padawan. This idea was given to me by The Christian Jedi, so all credit goes to him. Please review rate, and enjoy!

Chapter 4: Bonds

Coruscant Jedi Temple…

Anakin Skywalker stood in the Jedi Temple with Padawan Serra Keto and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, all of whom were waiting for Lux Bonteri. He was sent to retrieve anyone who was willing to help the Jedi Master find Ahsoka. Ever since the day since she disappeared, the Chosen One had been very tense and hardly focused on anything else other than finding her Padawan.

Obi-Wan took notice of Anakin getting tense and sighed. "Anakin, I promise that Ahsoka will be found. I know what it's like to lose someone close to you." The Negotiator stated. Anakin sighed and turned his head to his master. "I heard what had happened on Mandalore and about Siri as well. Ahsoka's different, she's made a huge impact on my life, and nothing will ever be the same without her." Anakin replied back tensely. Serra sighed. "You saved me from freezing to death in space once. I can only help you to find our friend in return, and pray that she is safe." The Padawan learner added on to the conversation. Anakin sighed and furrowed his brow. "Where are you, Ahsoka?" Anakin asked himself out loud, looking at the Star Systems on the grid. What he didn't notice was a vortex-looking shape by the Ryloth System.

Earth-16…

Mount Justice January 10th 2314 hours

Ahsoka paced back and forth in her new room as she thought about everything that had happened to her so far. From being framed for murder to arriving in a strange new place, the young Ex-Jedi sighed and let out a tear at these thoughts. "My life will never be the same again." She told herself sadly. She then stopped pacing and looked out the window to look at the stars. "I miss you, Master. When will I ever see you again?" Ahsoka asked herself as she thought of Master Anakin Skywalker. "You're stuck with me, Skyguy." She told herself sadly as she looked to the Solar System one last time. She could barely see a strange vortex hanging over Orion's Belt as she frowned in melancholy. She took a deep breath before sighing and walking towards her bed.

Zatanna walked through the halls as she was coming back from the kitchen to get a late night snack. As she was walking back to her room, she could her Ahsoka muttering to herself from her room. Carefully, the mage crept over to the door of Ahsoka's room and listened to what she was saying. "Come back to me, Master." The Togrutan muttered before letting out a stream of tears. Zatanna sighed sadly as she silently left to her room, understanding the way Ahsoka feels.

Mount Justice January 11th 0816 hours

Zatanna watched as the Team trained with one another. As she was watching, she couldn't get Ahsoka's sadness off of her mind. I wish I could help her. Zatanna thought to herself. As she was thinking, she continued to look back onto the battles going on simultaneously. She raised an eyebrow when she finally noticed that Ahsoka and M'gann were missing. Where are those two? She asked herself. Thinking of only one solution, the magic wielder walked over to M'gann's room.

Ahsoka sat on the floor cross-legged with her boots off as she looked to M'gann, who was in the same position as her. M'gann smiled to her new friend as she grinned slightly. "I'm now going to teach you how to shapeshift. Barring any distractions, we should get through this quickly." M'gann explained to Ahsoka. The Togrutan smiled as she winked to her sister-like friend with delight. M'gann chuckled as she inhaled deeply. "You just have to focus on the one you would like to shapeshift into, your happy place, and a deep and powerful memory." M'gann instructed. Ahsoka nodded and closed her eyes. Think, Ahsoka, think. Ahsoka told herself. As the Jedi started to think, her form started to change. M'gann widened her smile as she saw Ahsoka's skin change. Ahsoka's form changed from orange to Caucasian, and her alien Montrals turned to blonde hair. In a half a minute, Ahsoka was no longer Togrutan, but now a human with the Jedi's similar appearance. Ahsoka sighed and opened up her eyes. "How do I look? Did I do it, succeed?" Ahsoka asked nervously. M'gann smiled and looked down to Ahsoka's lower body. "See for yourself." M'gann stated happily. Ahsoka shrugged and looked down to herself. "Whoa, look at that!" Ahsoka exclaimed loudly as she looked down to herself. She started to chuckle lightly, and then laugh happily as she ran over to M'gann. "Thank you so much!" Ahsoka thanked M'gann with much gratitude as she hugged her. The Martian female smiled as she hugged her back with happiness.

As the two were enjoying the moment, they heard a knock come from the door. M'gann and Ahsoka released themselves from each others' grasps as M'gann smiled slightly. "Come in!" she said happily. With that polite order, Zatanna opened up the door and walked in and turned on the lights. She smiled when she saw M'gann. "Hey there, M'gann, have you seen Ahsoka?" she asked. The two girls looked to each other and giggled. Ahsoka stood up as Zatanna raised an eyebrow in confusion. "It's me, Zatanna." The Togrutan reassured the young mage. Zatanna inspected Ahsoka's body carefully as Ahsoka sighed and shapeshifted back into herself. Zatanna awed in impression as she nodded as well. "I was looking for you." She stated to the alien. Ahsoka looked around and chuckled. "What would you like me for, Zatanna?" Ahsoka asked in confusion. Zatanna grabbed her arm and dragged her to the Training Room, Ahsoka in much surprise.

At the Training Room, the Team stood back as Zatanna and Ahsoka stood in the training circle, only the mage prepared to fight. Ahsoka looked in confusion as she sighed. "What's going on?" she asked. Zatanna chuckled and glared at Ahsoka with interest. "Hit me with your best move." Zatanna ordered playfully. Ahsoka stammered and looked down. "I'm sorry, I can't." She apologized. Zatanna raised an eyebrow as Ahsoka looked up to her with a grin on her face. "Why don't you show me your magic?" she asked. Zatanna placed her hands on her hips and chuckled. "Maybe I will… after I see your powers." She snippily demanded. Ahsoka chuckled. "The Force is not for show." She stated. Zatanna moaned sarcastically. "Surely, you can't just show me some of your powers." The wizard spat back with playfulness. Ahsoka snickered and placed a hand on her hip. "Is that a challenge, Z?" Ahsoka asked snippily. Zatanna chuckled as she incanted a spell to make the light bulbs drop onto her. Ahsoka simply responded to this by using the Force to place them back where they were. Zatanna then laughed as she incanted another spell to cause Ahsoka to levitate off of the ground. "Hmm, this is interesting." Ahsoka quipped. In the air, Ahsoka reached out to the Force and pulled Zatanna up to her current level. The two chuckled playfully as they exchanged one magic move or Force technique after another. When Zatanna incanted a spell to make Ahsoka slip and fall to the ground, Ahsoka only replied back by using a Jedi Mind Trick to trick her into falling down with her. As the two continued to have fun taking turns with their powers, they started to laugh with happiness.

Wally watched as the two girls were having their fun. He scoffed and stepped up. "Oh wow, this is all very impressive." He stated sarcastically. The two girls didn't listen as Wally chuckled. Robin hid his head away as he told Artemis, "This is gonna suck." Artemis nodded as she watched Wally start to make a fool of himself in front of everyone. "Baywatch, what are you doing?" she asked herself as she placed her palm up to her head. M'gann did the same as she nodded her head in disapproval.

Ahsoka activated her lightsaber as she used it to block a magical lightning attack from Zatanna. "You call that Force? I call it the Law of Gravity!" Wally yelled out to the Jedi, who cursed in Huttese under her breath. Zatanna was about to cast a spell to levitate herself into the air for attack until Kid Flash's voice caught her attention. "Is that really magic? You should know that it never exists, only science!" the speedster retorted, in which Zatanna muttered a curse under her breath. Ahsoka looked to Zatanna, who nodded back. They were about to play a trick on Wally West.

Wally scoffed as he looked to the two seemingly dumbstruck girls. "I thought so." He stated annoyingly. As Kid Flash turned around, Ahsoka narrowed her eyes and yelled, "Now!" Ahsoka then lifted Wally up into the air. "Whoa! Whoa, what's going on?" the speedster asked with much surprise. Zatanna then incanted a spell and shot lightning at the fast Smart Alec's back, in which he yelled with shock. Ahsoka chuckled sinisterly as he placed Wally back onto the ground very roughly. Wally rubbed his neck as he regained himself. Zatanna chuckled and extended her left wand hand. "Eci Nwod S'dik kcab!" the magician incanted. Sixteen ice cubes appeared above Kid Flash, in which all of the Team took notice to. They all fell in a perfect square down Kid Flash's back, causing him to shriek in a very high-pitched voice. Robin snickered and whispered something to Superboy, in which the Kryptonian nodded. Artemis took out her camera and chuckled. "This is gonna rock the house!" she exclaimed.

Zatanna stepped up and winked to Ahsoka, who winked right back at her. Ahsoka used the Force to turn Wally around, in which he yelled in surprise. M'gann, who couldn't bear to see this, levitated the rest of her friends to the other side so that they could see Wally. Ahsoka placed her hand down low and squeezed it, causing Wally to squeal and feel his groin. Zatanna then giggled and pointed her hand at him. "Tew sih stnap!" she incanted with a sinister Kubrick Stare and a snap of her finger. The Team then started to giggle and laugh, as well as point when Wally's pants started to darken, especially where he was feeling his groin. The speedster groaned in embarrassment as he saw the young mage and the Ex-Jedi get together and bump fists. Wally used his one arm to cross around his chest. "You two are pure evil!" he stated. Zatanna chuckled and incanted on last spell. "Ekam mih traf!" she incanted. At that moment, gas came from Wally's derriere with a loud 'pfft' sound, causing the Team to laugh even more. Ahsoka chuckled. "We're not evil, just morally ambiguous." She quipped with happiness and revenge in her tongue. Wally grumbled in a high-pitched voice as he went running off to the showers, causing the Team to laugh even more than they usually could. Ahsoka and Zatanna walked up to each other and placed their hands on each others' shoulders, laughing their hearts out and letting tears of happiness drop.

Later on, Ahsoka and Zatanna walked down the halls of the Cave, still laughing at what they had pulled off earlier. The two talked about many things that they had done in the past, but they had never in all their life pulled off something like that. Zatanna chuckled. "You know, my dad would kill me for doing something like that!" the young mage remarked. Ahsoka chuckled at this, but instead of hearing Zatanna join in, she surprisingly saw the wizard let out a small tear of sadness. "I miss him so much." She added on. Ahsoka sighed and looked to her. "I know how you feel. I miss my Master too." The Jedi stated. Zatanna sniffed her tears and looked to her. "My dad sacrificed himself in order to save me from Doctor Fate." Zatanna explained. Ahsoka's eyes immediately widened when she heard this. "I've heard about Zatara before, but not this." She exclaimed. Zatanna snuffled another tear as Ahsoka placed her hand on her shoulder. "My master, Anakin, raised me like a father and always looked after me all the time. I'm probable sure that Zatara would do the same for you." Ahsoka stated. Zatanna continued to look down, causing Ahsoka to sigh. "You can't blame yourself for what happened in the past. Sometimes a loss in relations can cause a gain in strength. You will learn to become stronger." Ahsoka curtly instructed the magician. Zatanna smiled. "Thank you, Ahsoka." She said with gratitude. Just then, Batman's voice called throughout the Cave. "Team, report for Mission Briefing in Five." The Dark Knight ordered. The two supernatural-powered females looked to each other and nodded as they went to the Mission Room with Zatanna incanting a spell to change their clothing into their uniforms.

Coruscant Jedi Temple…

Anakin looked to Lux Bonteri with a great impression. "You really got yourself a team." He complimented to the senator. Lux smiled. "I'll do anything to find Ahsoka." He replied back. Anakin chuckled. In the Mission Room of the Jedi Temple stood Saw Gerrera, Padme and the royal Naboo guard, Ackbar, Kidd Kareen, the Wind Raiders, the Lurmen, Sugi, Embo, Seripas and Rumi Paramita, Hondo Ohnaka and the Pirates, Riyo Chuchi, Korkie Kryze and the remnants of Death Watch, as well his friends, Tarkin, the Padawans from the Trandoshan hunt, Chewbacca, members of the Hutt Clan, and basically all of Ahsoka's friends and allies during the Clone Wars. Hondo stepped up and cleared his throat. "I have made sure to spread my pirates throughout the entire reaches of the Inner, Outer, and Middle Rims of the galaxy so that Padawan Tano can be found." He reported. Anakin smiled as he looked to the Bounty Hunters, all cradling their weapons carefully. "Ahsoka did us some good, so it's time that we owed her the favor by bringing her back." Sugi explained.

Captain Tarkin stepped up and nervously cleared his throat. "I… regret framing Ahsoka back then, and I wish to make amends. I do owe her a favor ever since she saved me at the Citadel after all." The captain explained to Skywalker. Anakin scoffed as he looked to Bo-Katan of Death Watch. "Ahsoka did us some good, so it's time to return the favor, just this once." Kryze remarked. Lux walked up to her and placed his hand out in front of her. "We had a deal, Bo-Katan. I would like the Darksaber, and you and the rest of the Bounty Hunters, as well as the Hutts, will get your reward, and reparations from the Republic." Bonteri stated. Bo-Katan chuckled and took out a sword-hilted lightsaber hilt and handed it to the Senator. "This is for Ahsoka, after all." She quipped. Anakin and Obi-Wan chuckled as Lux took the Darksaber.

Anakin then walked up to the holographic map and pointed to the Ryloth System. "According to Senator Orn Free Taa, Ryloth has some sort of strange anomaly occurring, which appeared over the planet the same time Ahsoka disappeared." Anakin pointed out. "I'd go there myself, but the Jedi Council requests that I stay here in case Ahsoka might return." He added on. Genius Mechanic Jaybo Hood stepped up. "I've fitted a reused Vulture Droid into a Starfighter with the right instruments to enter the vortex without any certain side-effects." Jaybo stated. Anakin chuckled and rubbed his head. "Good, now one of us will need to enter. Is anyone up for the challenge?" Anakin asked. While the room grew quiet, Lux stepped up. "Ahsoka means a lot to me, so I will go aboard the Starfighter to locate her." Bonteri exclaimed. The Coalition clapped and cheered for Lux as Anakin smiled. "You will board immediately. The rest of you shall provide him with arsenal necessary for this kind of trip." Anakin ordered. The Coalition nodded in agreement and acknowledgement as Lux nodded as well. With that done, the Coalition went off to do their work. "I'll find you soon, Snips. You'll soon be safe." Anakin promised to himself as he walked away to his chambers, in which Padme followed. "Ani, I promise that Ahsoka will be found, no matter what the cost." Anakin's wife promised him. Anakin sighed and smiled. "Thank you, Angel." He replied back, causing the Senator to smile. Before they left the room, Padme grabbed Anakin by the arm and kissed him smack on the lips. The two shared the amount of love until they all left to perform their respective duties.

Mount Justice 1013 hours

The Team stood ready in the Mission Room as they watched Batman bring up a holoscreen of Mexico. "Doctor Fate and Klarion are currently engaged in combat against one another, but due to both of their recklessness and lack of care for the surroundings, civilians have been caught in the crossfire." The Dark Knight reported. Ahsoka's eyes widened with shock as she looked from the screen to Zatanna, looking down sadly. "Your father will be fine." Ahsoka reassured her, causing the magician to slightly smile. "Your mission is to clear the area of all civilians and ensure no one is harmed by the battle." Batman finished up. The Team nodded as they all headed to the Martian Bioship to depart to Mexico.

Mexico 1241 hours

Doctor Fate blasted the Seal of Fate right at Klarion the Witch-Boy. The Lord of Chaos chuckled sinisterly as he dodged it and sent another attack back at him. "You can't win against me, Nabu!" Klarion spat at the Lord of Order. Fate had other plans as the Lord of Order rotated his arms in front of him to send another attack. "I beg to differ, Chaos!" Nabu spat back. The following attack caused the Lord of Order to tumble back from where he was.

At that moment, the Team ran from behind the two fighters and approached a large group of bystanders nearby. "Get out of here, now!" Aqualad ordered as Superboy helped the big group escape. Aqualad looked back to the rest of the Team and nodded. "Split into three groups! We need to evacuate everyone from this fight!" the Atlantean ordered. "Right!" the Team responded as they all went off to evacuate the area.

Ahsoka was assigned with M'gann and Zatanna as they helped many police, civilians and others away from the fight. "Get to safety!" M'gann ordered as she helped two injured policemen get to a safe bunker. Ahsoka slashed at a tree that fell on a group of schoolgirls and helped them to their feet. "Get to safety, little ones." Ahsoka ordered calmly. One of the girls hugged Ahsoka, in which the Togrutan hugged back, before running off to find their teacher. As Zatanna helped a couple escape, she looked onto the battle. She gasped and widened her eyes when she saw Klarion send a lightning attack at her father. Ahsoka took notice after helping a Mariachi Band get to safety. "We need to stay focused, Zatanna!" Ahsoka reminded the magician, but her face was blank as she continued to watch the battle. Ahsoka sighed and grabbed her shoulders. "Zatara will be fine. Get your head in the game!" Ahsoka stated once again. Zatanna snapped out of her trance and nodded. "I'm on it!" she yelled. Ahsoka smiled as they went back to work.

As the two magical lords were fighting, Klarion took notice to Ahsoka and Zatanna. He chuckled with delight as he pointed his finger towards some trees nearby them. "Let's change the course a bit." He quipped as he sent a lighting bolt towards them. Ahsoka and Zatanna gasped as they saw Klarion blast at some trees. When the blast had made impact, seven monsters stood before them. Ahsoka activated her lightsaber and nodded to Zatanna. "I'll take them all! You get the last few people to a safer location!" the Jedi ordered. Zatanna nodded as Ahsoka charged in at the monsters. As Ahsoka battled the monsters, Klarion looked onwards with interest. "That girl's not half bad." He remarked to himself. Just then, Fate sent the Seal of Fate towards the Lord of Chaos, causing him to falter.

Zatanna ran over to the last group of people while looking back onto the battle. I miss you, Dad. She thought to herself sadly as she saw Zatara fighting under the mantle of Doctor Fate. She cleared her mind of the battle and headed back towards the group. As she approached, he eyes widened. She saw an elderly father holding carefully onto his daughter with much care and safety. Zatanna sighed at the sight, but something snapped her out of her trance as Klarion shot a blast towards Doctor Fate. Fate redirected the bolt away from him, causing the blast to head towards the family. Zatanna widened her eyes with suspense. "NO!" she yelled, getting in front of the two to shield them from harm. Zatanna thought a last testament to herself as she could hear the hum of the blast getting closer. Just then, she heard another hum and a 'swoosh' sound. She turned around and saw that Ahsoka had deflected the blast back to Klarion. Zatanna smiled at Ahsoka, in which she returned the favor. Zatanna looked back to the father and daughter, who both smiled to her with gratitude. "Go to safety." Zatanna calmly ordered. The two nodded as they left to get to somewhere much safer.

Klarion fell to the ground after Ahsoka redirected the attack he had sent to Fate back at him. He groaned as he saw that he was defeated. He growled at the Lord of Order and picked up Teekl. "We'll meet again, Nabu!" Klarion promised Nabu. With that, Klarion left through a magical portal and uttered a curse. The Team ran over to Doctor Fate and smiled. "You sent him running!" Kid Flash exclaimed happily. Doctor Fate turned and said nothing, as his attention was currently focused on Zatanna. Zatanna and the Lord of Order gazed upon each other, as if Zatara were trying to send her a message. After a while, Zatanna smiled and nodded as Doctor Fate nodded back before disappearing into thin air.

As the Team was later heading back to Rhode Island, Ahsoka looked over to a now happy Zatanna Zatara. Zatanna took notice of this and turned around with a smile on her face. Ahsoka chuckled and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Zatara would be proud of everything you have accomplished so far, just as I am right now." Ahsoka stated. Zatanna laughed and ran over towards the Togrutan and hugged her happily. Ahsoka smiled and hugged back. With another new bond formed, nothing could go wrong now.

Ryloth System…

Lux flew his Starfighter, the Tano, over Ryloth as he looked out to the vortex. He had a wrist communicator on him, as well as other weapons supplied to him by the Tano Coalition. Lux took one last sigh before reaching to his controls. "Here I come, Ahsoka. You will be found." He swore to himself. With that, Lux took the Tano into the vortex, leaving to find his beloved. Unbeknownst to him, another ship had followed. Inside of the other ship, Cad Bane chuckled. "Let's see what you're up to, Bonteri." Bane told himself as he ignited his Hyperdrive and followed in pursuit. Soon, things were about to take a turn for the worse, and the better.

Author's Note: Did everyone think this was a good chapter or what? Now that Ahsoka and Zatanna are great friends, things are sure to go right, but what will happen with Lux and Cad Bane?
