Hello once again and good afternoon, my faithful and awesome readers! This is SuperHeroTimeFan speaking, and I am back with another new chapter of the best story I have ever written and that you like so much, Path of the Padawan. It's so unbelievable that this story has become so popular in such little time. I would like to thank everyone who made it possible for me to keep writing and liking this story, such as The Christian Jedi, Logan GC, JacklyinKarst, KrautYank, Prosper7593, Ocnarf, RozenMaiden7, Aback, ByrdDog66, Nega20, AbandonedRainbow, and many of the Guest reviewers. You are all just too kind for words, thank you so much! Now, as usual, I will start out by answering everyone's questions and concerns. First off, we have Ocnarf. I assure you that Cad Bane will have a showdown with Batman, but not just yet. Also to the same dude, I am not sure if I can have Darkseid in my story. A reviewer once asked the same question to Logan GC, and just like he said, Darkseid might be too tough of a foe for a Jedi to face. A third question asked by Ocnarf is if Ahsoka has any weaknesses. I would have to say that it would be her nervousness and fear to trust others because of what happened to her in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars season finale. Other than that, Ahsoka has no real weaknesses. Now, there is a certain Guest reviewer who would like to PM me. I don't know who it is, but if the Guest would tell me if he is an author or not, then I would understand a whole lot better. Chapter 6: War of Change
Vlatava January 13th 1138 hours UTC
Queen Perdita, royal sovereign and queen of the country of Vlatava, watched over the peace and prosperity of her kingdom. She hadn't felt more alive ever since Kid Flash had risked his life to save her during a heart transplant. As the queen watched over her country, her royal advisor walked up to her. "Your highness, May I have a moment?" Nizam asked. Perdita turned around and looked to her royal advisor. "Whatever is the problem, Nizam?" Perdita asked with a delicate tone. The royal advisor sighed and looked up. "We have information that a rebellion against the royal crown of Vlatava is being staged." Nizam informed the queen. Perdita chuckled lightly and asked, "Who would stage such a rebellion?" Nizam sighed. "The Intel passed onto us included the involvement of your uncle, Count Werner Vertigo." He replied. Perdita's eyes widened with shock as she heard the name of her uncle. "No!" she whispered quietly.
At that moment, the sounds of gunshots and cannon fire caught her attention as Perdita turned back around to see the country. Nizam stood up and cleared his throat with respect. "What are your orders, Queen Perdita?" Nizam asked. Perdita snuffed back a tear of sadness from seeing her country at war. After taking a deep breath, she turned back to her royal advisor. "Contact the Justice League through any means necessary." She ordered. Nizam bowed and walked away. Perdita sighed with sadness as she looked out her balcony one last time. She swore that she could have seen the atrocious face of the heartless Count Vertigo.
Mount Justice 1215 hours EST
At Mount Justice, the Team was training hard as usual for their next big mission. Ahsoka trained with Artemis as the two exchanged blows from each other. When Artemis attacked with a right upper kick and a left swing, Ahsoka scoffed and easily grabbed the limbs. The archer gasped at this and attempted to get free. She then tried to strike with a right hook, only for the Ex-Jedi to grab that as well. With her great agility, Ahsoka flipped Artemis over the ground before jumping up into the air to slam her back down. Artemis chuckled as the young Togrutan helped her up to her feet. "Where did you ever learn to become such an awesome fighter?" Artemis asked with interest. Ahsoka chuckled and was just about to answer her question until the sound of loud crunching and chomping caught her attention.
The rest of the Team stopped their training and turned to see Kid Flash enter the Training Room with a large bag of chips. While some of the Team rolled their eyes at the speedster's antics, Ahsoka tensed up and narrowed her eyes towards the archer. "Where did you find such a jokester like him?" she asked Artemis snippily. Wally happened to be in close earshot of the two girls and choked on his chips and then glared at the Togrutan. "Hey! I resent that!" he exclaimed angrily. Ahsoka scoffed. "You'd make a world record for the Worst Man in History, and you should probably learn to get some manners faster than you talk, Wally." Ahsoka quipped back at the speedster, causing him to tense up. "I'm not the one with a made-up power!" Wally snapped back. Ahsoka yawned and chuckled lightly. "I can think of ninety-nine comebacks as fast and as better as you can." Ahsoka snippily snapped. Wally groaned and walked towards Ahsoka to land a punch.
Fortunately for the Team, Black Canary walked in. Her eyes immediately widened when she saw what was going on between the Ex-Jedi and the speedster. "What is going on here?!" she asked angrily. Wally stuttered before pointing a finger to an innocent-looking Ahsoka Tano. "She started it!" he blamed accusingly to the training instructor. Ahsoka shrugged at this, causing Dinah to sigh exasperatingly. "You all need a break from training, as in, away from the Cave." Black Canary told the Team. The Ex-Sidekicks looked to each other with much confusion before Black Canary screamed, "NOW!" With that, the Team immediately and silently left the Cave and into Happy Harbor.
Happy Harbor 1254 hours
Lux Bonteri continued to race around the city of Happy Harbor, continuously looking for Ahsoka. He stopped his speeder and lifted the visor of his helmet to see a ginormous mountain that could oversee the entire city. "Where are you, Ahsoka?" Lux asked to himself curiously. He took a deep sigh before taking out his water capsule to take a drink. As he watched the activity of the city from a bridge, something immediately caught his eye. Coming out of a building was a man with a blue military suit, with black pants and gloves, as well as a white scarf. His uniform was covered in arc-shaped designs, and he carried two boomerangs in his hand. Behind him was a group of several men with similar suits, and they all had guns and swords in their hands. He could see that the large group was heading to some sort of bank. "Let's try that." Lux told himself before speeding off to follow them.
Meanwhile, the Team was walking down the streets in their civilian attire, Wally eating some ice cream as Ahsoka and Artemis watched in disgust. "And yet, you love him." Ahsoka retorted to the archer, causing her to make an iffy gesture. "I do, more or less, but enough about me. What about you?" Artemis responded. Ahsoka sighed as the rest of the girls leaned in closer to listen. "Okay, so you got me." The Togrutan admitted happily. The girls started to laugh as the males of the Team looked back in amusement, Wally stopping his munching down on sweets to listen in. "There was this boy…" Ahsoka started out, causing M'gann and Artemis to happily nod their heads with delight. "He's somewhere at my age…" the Jedi continued, causing Zatanna and Raquel to nod in a similar manner. Ahsoka sighed before finally finishing up. "And he used to be an enemy to my side." Ahsoka concluded, causing the males to abruptly falter, especially Kaldur of all people, and the girls' smiles to lessen.
Ahsoka took notice to the sudden reactions before groaning. "He used to be my enemy, but now he's good. He's also a senator." Ahsoka cleared up, causing Wally to chuckle with amusement. "I doubt that there could be anyone as dreamy as me." He mused to the Team. The Team rolled their eyes as Ahsoka growled. "Lux was a good person!" she defended. M'gann gasped and looked to Ahsoka straight in the eyes. "His name is Lux?" she asked happily. Ahsoka chuckled and nodded. "We haven't seen each other for a long time." The Ex-Jedi stated. Wally chuckled once again. "I'd like to see him get some girls nervous!" the speedster quipped. Ahsoka finally lost it and pressure-pointed Wally West at the ear. "You know what, Wally?! You're nothing but bad luck!" Ahsoka yelled. She let go of Wally immediately after she stated that and glared daggers at him. Wally stammered and scoffed. "I'm so not bad luck!" Wally claimed.
Just then, as if it was the doing of karma, three boomerangs were sent towards the Team's way. They all yelled as they ducked aside. Robin got up and looked to his best friend. "From now on, Dude, stay away from me!" Dick ordered, backing away from the speedster. Artemis groaned and looked to the Boy Wonder. "Something's going on at the bank! Let's go!" the archer ordered, in which the Team acknowledged and ran to the bank.
As soon as the Team reached the bank, Zatanna cast a spell to suit them up in their uniforms. Kid Flash widened his eyes when he saw the man emerge from the bank with two sacks of Benjamins in his hands. "Captain Boomerang!" Wally yelled. The captain looked to the Team with amusement as he dropped his bags of riches. "The little Team of the Justice League is here to stop me. What an unexpected surprise." Captain Boomerang quipped. He turned his attention to Ahsoka soon after. "Ahsoka, so the rumors are true. There is a goddess living amongst us, but maybe not for long." He stated. Ahsoka activated her lightsabers while the rest of the Team got ready to fight. Boomerang chuckled and snapped his fingers. At that moment, Shadow Assassins came out from hiding as Aqualad glared at the Australian villain. "You work with the Shadows and the Light!" he deducted. Captain Boomerang chuckled and cackled at this. "Get them!" he loudly ordered the assassins. They acknowledged and charged in at the Team. The Team charged back at the Shadows while Boomerang attempted to make his escape.
Lux had just arrived in an alley nearby the bank and ran towards the scene of the crime. As he neared a corner, he turned to see the battle going on. Who are these strange people? Lux thought to himself as he took notice of the Team. Just then, he gasped when he saw only one familiar figure: Ahsoka! Lux smiled as he saw this. "I've found you!" he exclaimed quietly to himself. He was about to reach for his holo-transmitter until he heard a grunt come from Ahsoka back from the battle.
While the Team all fought alongside each other against the Shadow Assassins, Ahsoka was fighting by herself. As she slashed at one of the Shadows, she sent a Force-Push towards Captain Boomerang. The captain was caught by surprise, and sent an angry glare to Ahsoka. "You'll regret that!" he snarled. With that, the captain threw a boomerang at Ahsoka, but the young Jedi ducked from the attack. "Is that all you've got?" she asked snippily. All she got was a snicker and a smirk from the captain. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow in confusion as she turned around. She gasped when she saw the boomerang return and hit her. She groaned as she was sent flying to the ground, her lightsabers flying out of her hands. As the Ex-Jedi tried to regain herself, she noticed that several of the Shadow Assassins started to surround her and point their swords at her neck. Superboy took notice of this and kicked away the assassin he was facing. "Ahsoka, hold on!" he yelled, but Captain Boomerang punched him in the jaw. For once, Ahsoka was scared of the petty henchmen. One of them chuckled and raised his sword to thrust down her neck.
Lux couldn't stand it much longer as he unsheathed one of his twin DC-16 pistols and ran towards the surrounded Ahsoka. "Leave her alone!" Lux demanded loudly, catching everyone's attention. The assassin who was about to execute Ahsoka turned and was all of a sudden shot in the chest. Lux did the same with the other five assassins surrounding Ahsoka. The Togrutan looked up in shock and awe at what had happened, and in fact who had saved her. "Lux, is that you?" she asked. Bonteri sent a quick nod and smile towards the Jedi. "Why, hello there." He greeted honorably to Ahsoka. The Team all looked in confusion as Lux sent a salute and unsheathed his other pistol. As the assassins and the Team watched the Senator with awe, Lux shot some rounds at three assassins and then turned around to shoot another behind his back.
Aqualad looked to the others. "Stay focused on the task at hand, everyone!" he ordered. Robin nodded as he unsheathed some Bola Sticks and started to melee at every assassin. Before he could land a hit on one of them, the assassin fell to the ground dead. Robin still held his staffs in the air as he watched the assassin fall dead to the ground. "Huh?" he asked to himself. He looked over to where the shot came from and saw Lux unsheathe the Darksaber and activate it. "You don't need to thank me." Lux stated before charging towards the assassins. Robin widened his eyes with shock as he saw Lux slash at the attackers. "Thank you?" he asked. Lux grinned. "No problem." He replied back, causing the Boy Wonder to groan. Robin and Lux were soon fighting back-to-back, but Lux began pushing Robin out of the way. Robin watched in awe as Lux took down the assassins with just one fell swoop, but then cringed in fear when he slashed at his neck. Robin ducked to the ground and then got up to growl at the Senator. "You almost took my head off!" the Boy Wonder scolded, but Lux ignored and went on to help the others.
Aqualad, Kid Flash and Superboy joined together to attack Captain Boomerang, but he just summoned more assassins to help cover his escape. Before they could land a hit on them, Lux ran over and shot the Shadows. Boomerang stood in awe at the Senator in action as Kid Flash growled. "Hey! We had it all under control!" he stated. Superboy seemed to nod in agreement as Aqualad could only mutter and inspect the way Lux fought carefully.
Zatanna back flipped from one of the Shadow Assassins attacking her and accidently bumped into Rocket. "Sorry about that, girl!" Raquel apologized. Before the mage could respond, Lux threw some shock grenades at the assassins, causing the assassins to shriek in pain and the two powered girls to back away with wonder as Lux ran towards them. "Sorry about that!" Lux yelled as he went off to help the other two girls. All Rocket could do was fall from her floating location and Zatanna feel her chest while shooting an attack from her wand.
Artemis shot an arrow at three assassins and then clashed her bow with another. M'gann backed into her and gulped. "What are our chances of surviving this many goons?" M'gann asked nervously to Artemis. The archer shrugged. "I don't know." She simply said. Just then, Lux jumped in and slashed at the troopers with an electrostaff. Artemis wolf whistled at this as Lux sheathed the staff and began to attack again with the Darksaber. "Excuse me, ladies." Lux said calmly to the two girls before running between them to slash at the rest of the assassins. He winked at M'gann and then ran off to face Captain Boomerang. Artemis' quiver dropped all of its arrows as M'gann started to fan herself. "Is it getting hot in here, or is it just… me?" she asked before suddenly fainting. Artemis continued to watch Lux in action as she caught M'gann with her right arm and feel her chest with the other.
Captain Boomerang watched in awe as this unknown man kept taking down his grunts. He started to back away in fear as Lux soon came closer towards him. "Put down the money and get against the wall." Lux ordered. Captain Boomerang gulped nervously as he threw down the bag of stolen money. Lux chuckled as he looked to the stuttering captain. "Was that so hard?" Lux asked sarcastically. Captain Boomerang groaned and threw a boomerang to the Senator, but Lux was able to blast it to pieces. Smirking, Lux then shot a stun blast at Boomerang. The rest of the Team just watched everything Lux was doing in awe while Ahsoka was too dumbstruck for words.
Lux sheathed the Darksaber and placed his pistol back into his holster as he turned around to take a deep sigh. Aqualad and the rest of the Team joined up with Ahsoka, who seemed to be happy at the sight of the newcomer. Before Ahsoka could run up to Lux, M'gann put her hand in front of her protectively. Aqualad held one water-bearer at the ready as he had his eyes focused on Lux. "Who are you?" Kaldur asked skeptically. Lux chuckled and pointed his finger towards the Team. "I'm a fighter, just like you." Lux replied before walking up to the Team. M'gann backed away as Lux neared Ahsoka. "But where I come from, people call me Senator Lux Bonteri." Lux added on. M'gann still stayed protective over Ahsoka, but the Togrutan lifted the Martian's hand up to walk over to Lux. Lux chuckled and he turned and grinned. "Look at me. Am I so bad?" Lux questioned the Togrutan Jedi. Ahsoka chuckled at this and immediately wrapped her arms around him, much to the Team's amusement and surprise. "Lux, it really is you!" Ahsoka rejoiced happily. At that moment, Wally and some of the other guys started to stutter. "T-that's Lux, as in, the Lux?!" Kid Flash asked in utter disbelief. Ahsoka chuckled and nodded. Artemis grinned at her boyfriend before looking back to the couple.
Lux chuckled as he felt the embracement of Ahsoka. "It's so good to see you, Ahsoka." Lux exclaimed. Ahsoka chuckled as well and let go. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be on Onderon or something?" Ahsoka asked with delight. Lux sighed and pointed his finger at her chest. "I was just to ask the same thing." The Senator replied back. M'gann smiled at the sight of Ahsoka's happiness, but the Team didn't seem to share the same thoughts. Lux sighed and turned to Ahsoka. "Anakin and I have been extremely worried when we heard of your disappearance." Lux explained. Ahsoka chuckled with nervousness as she turned back. "Why couldn't he just contact me? I mean, communications may be jammed here, but there's no harm in a simple call from the Care of the Old Folks' Home." Ahsoka brought up. Lux raised an eyebrow with confusion. "The Jedi Temple is out of communication range from this 'Earth', and you disappeared from the Outer Rim." Lux explained further on. Ahsoka's eyes widened when she heard this. "This is another galaxy, Ahsoka." Lux cleared up. Ahsoka nodded and looked back to Lux.
Robin furrowed his brow in confusion as he turned his head to the rest of the Team. "They're both from another universe?!" the Boy Wonder yelled flabbergasted. The Team just shrugged as they looked back to the conversation. "Skyguy is looking for me?" Ahsoka asked. Lux nodded. "There's a whole Search and Rescue Team looking for you." Lux explained. Robin's eyes narrowed at the Senator while he continued to talk. "Now that I've found you, you can come back! Anakin will be so relieved to see that you're alive." Lux stated, but Ahsoka frowned slightly as she backed away. "I wanted to get away from the Jedi, the Republic, and the Clone Wars, everything. I can't go back." Ahsoka stated sadly. Lux began to stutter as he noticed Ahsoka walking away sadly. Lux stood up and grabbed Ahsoka's shoulder. "Anakin is worried sick about you! I've just found you, and you don't even want to leave this place?!" Lux stammered with disbelief. Ahsoka made a serious look on her face as she released herself from Lux's grasp. "I'm not going back!" she yelled. The Team backed away, as they did not want to get involved. Lux groaned angrily as he walked towards Ahsoka. "Listen here –!" Lux began, but he was soon cut off. Robin shot a taser cord at the Senator, electrocuting him in the process. Ahsoka turned around and gasped to see Lux yelling in pain. After a couple of seconds, the screams died down as Lux Bonteri was now unconscious. Ahsoka looked to the Team with disbelief and her arms spread out with a surprised look on her face. "What was that for?! He's my boyfriend!" Ahsoka exclaimed. Robin sighed and cuffed the Senator. "Nonetheless, he is a suspect, and when we take him to the Cave, we'll be sure to get all of the answers from him." Dick explained. Ahsoka groaned as the Team all left to the Cave, with Superboy carrying the unconscious boy on his back.
Vlatava 1300 hours UTC
Queen Perdita stood in the sacred tower of her palace as she looked down towards the warring opponents. She gritted her teeth as she could see Count Vertigo lead the invasion. "You are no uncle of mine, Werner!" Perdita spat at the Count from afar. As Nizam approached her from behind, the young monarch sighed inwardly. "Bring me to the communications center. I will contact the Justice League myself." She ordered. Nizam nodded. "I will do as you wish, my queen." With that, Perdita left the sacred tower to the communications room. They left just in time, as a sudden blast came and destroyed part of the palace.
Back on the ground, Vertigo looked up to the royal home and gritted his teeth. "Soon, the royal throne will be mine!" he cursed to himself. Just then, Shimmer walked over. "We have what you requested, Count Vertigo." She said respectfully. The heartless man snickered and opened up the chest Shimmer had in her hands. He chuckled as he placed on a new psychic headband to replace his old one. He cackled as he soon unsheathed his sword. "Find me the queen and kill anyone in your path!" he ordered his Shadow Assassins and followers madly. The large brigade cheered as they proceeded to take down the large wall separating them from the palace. Count Vertigo gave a Kubrick smirk as he laughed loudly in his hopes of success.
Mount Justice 1312 hours EST
Lux blinked several times as he groaned and looked around. Most of the things in his sight were blurred, but he could still see a bit clearly. "Where… am I?" he asked weakly. He struggled to get free, but he noticed that his hands were bound together behind his back. His eyesight cleared up as he looked to the several members of the Team, all surrounding him and inspecting the Senator carefully. His arsenal was laid down on a table next to the Team, but not so far from Lux's range. He also noticed that a child in a yellow and red costume was walking slowly towards him.
Kid Flash went down to Lux's level and glared him in the eyes. "A word of advice: stay away from any member of the Team." Kid Flash warned Lux before pointing his eyes to all the girls of the Team. "That means any member of the Team, including the hotties." He additionally stated, flirting with the girls. Most of them groaned, especially Artemis and Ahsoka. Ahsoka walked towards Lux and pushed Wally aside. "This wasn't my idea, but I promise that you'll be safe." Ahsoka stated. Lux smiled. "If it weren't for these binds, I'd have you already." Lux flirted with Ahsoka, causing her to giggle. Wally groaned as he crossed his arms. "He can't be trusted." The speedster stated. Lux and Ahsoka groaned as they both glared at Wally. "I've been spending days searching for my beloved." Lux stated, causing the other girls to awe in impressiveness.
Just then, Robin walked in, holding a glass of water in his hand. He had a warm smile on his face as he walked towards the Team. "Well, Lux, coming all the way from another dimension, you must've worked up quite a thirst." The Boy Wonder stated. Ahsoka sighed and stepped aside as Robin neared the Senator. "Here, have a drink." He offered politely. Lux did nothing but glare at the cup. "I know this trick. It won't work on me." Lux quipped to the Boy Wonder. Robin's eyes widened with surprise as Lux knocked the cup up into the air and let it shatter at his side. The broken pieces of glass landed behind him, in which Lux used to cut himself free. As soon as his arms were free, Lux ran to grab his cloak. "Stop him!" Aqualad ordered. The Team went as fast as they could to intercept Lux, but he was just too quick for them. Lux jumped over Robin as he slid to try to trip him, but just as he was about to grab a piece of his arsenal, Kid Flash dashed into the air and bumped him to the ground with a thud. Kid Flash laughed as he looked down to the Senator. "So much for that!" he quipped. Lux just chuckled and revealed that he was able to grab the Darksaber, causing Wally to stutter dumbfounded. Lux cut himself free and pointed his Darksaber at the Team. The Team stood ready to fight as Ahsoka just watched with horror.
At that moment, Aqualad unsheathed his Water-Bearer sword and charged at Lux, in which Lux did the same with his Darksaber. As the two neared each other, the Team let out a big gasp. Ahsoka stood in between the two with her lightsabers activated, both blades blocking each other from Kaldur and Lux. "Enough!" Ahsoka yelled. The two males had scowls on their faces as they did their best to get around the blades. Ahsoka groaned and looked to the Team, especially to Kid Flash. "This was your fault!" she blamed the speedster. Wally began to stutter dumbfounded, in both embarrassment and angst. "How did this become my fault?" Kid Flash asked accusingly. Ahsoka groaned and looked to him. "It all started when you started to act obnoxious and self-centered, Kid Idiot!" Ahsoka spat. Robin took notice of this and walked up to Ahsoka angrily. "I don't know what kind of sick galaxy you come from, but Lux needs to go… NOW!" the Boy Wonder demanded. Lux did not take so kindly to this outburst and lunged himself at Robin. Ahsoka was unable to stop him because she did not know what he was going to do. At that exact moment, Robin's eyes widened as Lux slashed the Darksaber at him, nearly guillotining off his head. Ahsoka gasped as she grabbed Lux by the ear. "Don't do that!" Ahsoka scolded her boyfriend.
Just then, Batman, Black Canary, Martian Manhunter, Red Tornado and Green Arrow walked into the room and saw what was happening after hearing all of the commotion. "What is going on here?!" Dinah asked angrily, still not at ease with seeing the Team fight earlier that day. The Team, plus Ahsoka and Lux, all looked towards the adult heroes and groaned. Robin stepped up and pointed an accusing finger towards Lux. "We were going to interrogate this… thief, who tried to steal Ahsoka, until he attacked us and Ahsoka defended for him!" the Boy Wonder yelled. Black Canary sighed and took a deep breath. "Robin, there is no theft greater than one of the heart." Black Canary quoted before they all took a glance towards Lux, who was still holding the activated Darksaber. Black Canary sighed and looked to the Team in a deadpan expression. "My mistake." She corrected herself. Robin chuckled as he walked over to Ahsoka and Lux. "Lux is a good person. He's a great friend of mine." Ahsoka reasoned. Robin chuckled nervously as he looked to Ahsoka. "And the fact that he almost CUT MY HEAD OFF, AHSOKA!" Robin yelled, causing the rest of the heroes in the room to share a surprised expression on their faces. Never before had Robin ever lost his cool. The Boy Wonder looked to everyone after creating his outburst and grumbled to himself angrily as he walked away from the group.
Batman looked to his ward confusingly before furrowing his brow and clearing his throat. "We have currently received an SOS message from Vlatava, and it is addressed especially to Kid Flash." Batman informed the Team. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow as Wally walked up. "Queen Perdita requests me?" Kid Flash asked with confusion. Batman nodded at this and brought up a holoscreen. "This message just came in earlier today." Batman added on. The Team watched as a transmission of Queen Perdita came up. She had an anxious look on her face as she looked to the screen. "Kid Flash, if you are receiving this message, then you must know that a catastrophe has struck at the kingdom of Vlatava. Count Vertigo is leading a rebellion, and we can't sustain combat against their numbers. The only way to reclaim Vlatava will be through arms struggle. I need all the help I can get to survive this. You're my only hope." Perdita finished up before ending the transmission.
As soon as the transmission ended, Kid Flash was left in a state of shock. The rest of the Team was also shocked; at both the fact that it was Kid Flash the queen of Vlatava needed and that there was a rebellion occurring! After a while, Lux finally broke the silence. "If the rebels continue their attack, then Count Vertigo will be able to take the thrown, and Perdita would be executed. Our only chance to help them is to safeguard the queen at all costs." Lux stated. Ahsoka smiled and grinned at Lux while everyone else just stood there in confusion. Batman sent a glare to the Senator. "How do you know so much about the Parliamentary Monarchy?" the Dark Knight questioned. Ahsoka stepped up and patted Lux on the shoulder. "Lux happens to be the son of a Senator, and he is currently a Senator himself." Ahsoka stated. Batman and Lux sent quick glares to each other without backing down. Finally, after a while, Batman internally sighed. "Very well, Lux. As you seem to be familiar with the ways of politics, you will go with the Team on their mission." Batman ordered. Lux nodded respectfully. "I will do my best to help." Lux simply stated. Batman nodded and looked to the rest of the Team. "You know your mission. Get to work." The Dark Knight ordered. The Team nodded at this and all headed towards the Bioship. As they were running, Ahsoka looked over to Lux and smiled, who in return, smiled back.
As soon as the Team reached the Hangar Bay, Lux stopped his pace. He couldn't see any kind of ship hidden within the Cave. "Where's the ship?" Lux asked. M'gann chuckled and closed her eyes. "She's right here." M'gann quipped as she decloaked the Bioship. Lux's eyes widened with wonder as he saw the ship come out of camo. "The whole ship is a living being. It can be controlled through psychic commands." M'gann explained happily to Lux. The Senator smiled and chuckled a bit. As the Team walked into the Bioship, Wally turned around to stop Lux from coming aboard. "The ship's too crowded, sorry." He spat skeptically. Ahsoka turned around and groaned. "Wally West, cut it out!" Ahsoka demanded while grabbing the speedster's ear. Wally yelled in pain as Ahsoka threw him into the ship. Lux chuckled once again.
"It's no problem. I have my own ship." Lux stated. Ahsoka and the rest of the Team raised their eyebrows in confusion as Lux gave a grin. He activated his gauntlet and pressed a button. At that moment, everyone heard a loud whir come from the outside. The Team looked in awe as Lux's ship came into the Cave. Ahsoka and Wally, especially Wally, stuttered with shock and awe. "What is it?" Ahsoka asked with amazement. Lux turned to her and smiled. "This is a Class-421 Starfighter, updated with the most innovated technology." Lux explained. Still seeing the confused looks on everyone's faces, Lux smiled. "It's called the Tano." Lux added on. The rest of the Team awed in understanding as Ahsoka walked up to Lux and blushed. "You named a ship after me?" Ahsoka asked flattered. Lux smiled and nodded. "There's enough room for an army of Clone Troopers, Jedi, or Bounty Hunters, and maybe even all. This ship is the fastest one I've ever flown." Lux replied. Ahsoka giggled with joy as the girls of the Team chuckled lightly at the flattering ship Lux had in his possession. Ahsoka looked back to the others. "I think I'll ride with Lux for this trip." Ahsoka stated. Aqualad nodded. "We'll fly together if we want this mission to be a success." The Atlantean ordered. Ahsoka and Lux nodded and soon entered the hull of the Tano. Ahsoka looked around with wonder. "This is amazing!" Ahsoka stated loudly. Lux chuckled as he ignited the engine. Soon, both ships were off to Vlatava to help Queen Perdita.
Vlatava 1331 hours UTC
M'gann connected everyone with a Psychic Link sometime after the Team had left Mount Justice. "Remember that we must protect the queen at all costs." Aqualad ordered everyone. Lux chuckled mentally. "It's AMAZING how we can talk to each other like this." Lux stated. Ahsoka chuckled. "You'll get used to it, honey." She replied. Artemis, on the Bioship, let out a snicker, as well as Zatanna. "Did I hear you say 'Honey'?" Zatanna asked snippily at the two's relationship. Ahsoka chuckled. "We practically love each other." The Togrutan responded. Wally scoffed mentally. "So, how does it feel to be flying technology instead of an awesome, living ship?" Kid Flash teased. Lux chuckled. "People in the universe I come from are always used to flying technological ships, so we're pretty cool." Lux nonchalantly replied back. Wally groaned out loud at not being able to upset the Senator. "I'll make him crack!" Kid Flash thought to himself angrily. Lux, as well as the rest of the Team, all heard this and chuckled softly to themselves.
Just then, the two ships, both in camo mode, entered the kingdom of Vlatava. Lux and Kid Flash both looked down to the kingdom with awe. From the grass fields to the large palace, it all looked so spectacular. "Vlatava looks amazing!" Both Lux and Kid Flash exclaimed. The Team and Ahsoka both looked to them with confusion. "Does anyone notice how similar Lux and Wally sound?" Raquel asked everyone. "Yeah, it's so freaky." Superboy replied. Kaldur looked to everyone from the Team in the Bioship to the lovebirds in the Tano for a brief moment before furrowing his brow and getting back to the task at hand. "We all split up. Rocket, Zatanna, Robin, you're with me. Artemis, you, Miss Martian and Superboy will take the South Gate! Ahsoka, take Lux and Kid Flash with you to find Queen Perdita!" Aqualad ordered. Everyone nodded, given their respective assignments.
The Team landed their ships on the ground as they all ran behind a trench to see what was going on. Lux took out some high-tech binoculars and started to oversee the battle. Ahsoka started to take close looks at the battle as well. Suddenly, something caught both of their attentions. "Do you see that, Ahsoka?" Lux asked the Ex-Jedi concernedly. Ahsoka nodded as she pointed towards a large group of soldiers. "The rebels are using Separatist Blaster Rifles." Ahsoka deducted, causing the Team to look over to her. Lux also pointed to one of the rebels mounting a certain cannon. "They're also using Defoliators and Ray Shield Generators." Lux additionally concluded. Ahsoka thought to herself for a moment before turning back to her betrothed. "Somehow, the Big Bads on this side of the Universe are gaining weapons only the Separatists would have." Ahsoka stated. Wally scooted over to the two and gave a 'psst' sound. "Are you actually saying that the Clone Wars and the Jedi are real?!" Kid Flash yelled. Ahsoka groaned, and just before she was about to answer, a large shadow cast over them. Mammoth stood in front of them with an angry look on his face. "What do you think you're doing here?" he asked angrily. The Team stood back, ready to fight, until Lux stood up and unsheathed an expandable electrostaff. "You didn't see anything." He quipped before thrusting the staff towards the goliath. Mammoth screamed in pain as he fell to the ground, unconscious. Superboy looked to Lux with a confused look on his face. "How did you do that?" Connor asked with awe. Lux chuckled and turned to him. "There are some enemies in our universe that are just as easy to take down as the ones who appear to cause trouble with here." Lux explained. Before anymore could go on, Aqualad gave a hand signal to the Team. Everyone acknowledged and scattered, while Superboy took the unconscious Mammoth away from the fight.
Ahsoka, Lux and Kid Flash all dashed past the enemies and towards the palace. "We need to find Perdita, soon!" Wally clamored nervously. Ahsoka chuckled and placed a hand on her hip. "Why so eager? Are you going to flirt with her?" she teased. Wally growled and threw a fist at her, in which she dodged. "You know nothing about me and Queen Perdita!" Wally exclaimed angrily through gritted teeth. The speedster then ran off as the other two followed. Soon, the group was able to get to the South Wall. Using a grappling hook, Lux and the rest of the group was able to get past the South Wall. Ahsoka placed a finger to her head before pointing to the east. "She's this way! Come on!" Ahsoka ordered. Lux nodded and followed, with an anxious Kid Flash behind them.
Inside of the palace, Count Vertigo looked around at the ruins. "She's not here!" the Count stated through gritted teeth. He looked back to his advisor angrily. "I want her dead or alive! Make sure nothing gets worse than it already is!" Vertigo demanded. Just then, as if by luck, Ahsoka, Kid Flash and Lux bashed into the Throne Room. "This day just keeps getting better and better." Ahsoka drawled as she rolled her eyes. Lux unsheathed his pistol and pointed it to the Count. "Put your hands in the air, Count Virgo!" the Senator commanded. Vertigo growled as he unsheathed his sword. "That's Count Vertigo to you, peasant!" Vertigo spat at the Senator. Before he could create a psychic attack, Lux stunned him with a stun shot. "I was close, and I'm a Senator, not a peasant!" Lux quipped to the Count. Kid Flash growled softly at Lux for sounding much better than him, but Ahsoka heard this and elbowed him in the stomach.
Just then, several troopers came from behind the young teens. Ahsoka turned and activated her lightsaber. "Oh, swell. Whose idea was this?" she stated sarcastically. As soon as the soldier opened fire, Ahsoka and Lux both used their swords to deflect the shots. They soon found themselves being backed up as they were deflecting every attack. As Ahsoka walked by the downed Count, he attempted to regain consciousness. Before he could come to, Ahsoka kicked his head hard and sent a mighty Force-Push towards the brigade. "It's time to go!" Wally yelled. Ahsoka nodded. "Yes, but where do we go?" Ahsoka asked. Just then, Perdita appeared from the chandelier above them and used a fallen rifle to shoot the soldiers. Wally gasped in shock as he looked to their rescuer. "Queen Perdita, is that you?" Wally asked. Perdita nodded and grabbed the speedster's arm. "We must leave immediately!" Perdita exclaimed as she took the group towards a hidden bunker while the goons were still down.
In the hidden bunker, Perdita removed her hood and smiled to Kid Flash. "It has been a while, Kid Flash." The young monarch greeted Wally. Wally smiled, but then looked back to the rebels. "We need to hide until we can come up with a plan." Wally stated. While Wally was looking back, Ahsoka tapped the queen on the shoulder, in which she responded and turned to the Jedi. "Greetings, your highness. I am Ahsoka Tano, a newcomer to Earth and Jedi Padawan. This is Lux Bonteri, Senator and political expert." Ahsoka introduced herself and Lux to the monarch. Perdita smiled and nodded to them. "It is an honor to meet you." The monarch stated. Lux looked to her with a serious look on his face. "If your uncle wishes to sabotage your kingdom in order to take the thrown, then he must be stopped and be put on full trial." Bonteri stated. Perdita nodded as she looked down sadly soon after. Ahsoka scoffed and looked to her. "How is someone as obnoxious as Kid Flash so serious when you're with him? Is he trying to flirt with you in some way?" Ahsoka asked. Perdita chuckled and nodded in disagreement. "A while back, Kid Flash risked his life for me when he raced across the entire country of the United States to deliver a heart that was necessary for my heart transplant. He was a hero to me that day." Perdita explained. Ahsoka's jaw dropped at that moment and looked like she was in utter shock. "I can't believe he would risk his life to do that!" Ahsoka exclaimed. Perdita chuckled and sighed. "He may not seem like it on the outside, but he's always willing to put others before himself when necessary." Perdita added on. Ahsoka smiled to Queen Perdita before looking to Wally and smiling to him as well.
A while passed while the four were in hiding. Finally, Lux stood up and snapped his fingers. "I say we negotiate a way out of this mess." Lux suggested. Wally stopped watching and looked to Lux skeptically. "How do you propose we do that? There are a ton of soldiers out there, waiting to murder us, place our heads on sticks, and bury our carcasses in the ground!" Wally spat. Ahsoka stood up. "He can negotiate, while we take out their army and weaponry." Ahsoka explained. Kid Flash awed in understanding, while Perdita grinned. Lux looked down to her. "I'll need you to come with me, your highness, if we are to make this plan succeed." Lux explained. Perdita nodded happily and followed the Senator out the door, with Kid Flash and Ahsoka still together. "Isn't it a bit weird how we sound so much alike?" he asked. Ahsoka nodded. "I never noticed. Let's go!" she replied back. Wally followed, muttering many things about how he and Lux are so similar-sounding.
Meanwhile, Lux and Perdita reached the ballroom, where more soldiers awaited them. Lux took out his pistol and pretended to shoot it, but also faked that there was something wrong. "My guns are empty." He informed Perdita. "Enough of this." A voice came from behind the militia. Count Vertigo emerged as he Kubrick-glared Lux. "You must have a fine reputation to hold if you are a so-called famous Senator." Lux put his hands up into the air as he sighed deeply. "I surrender." He admitted. At that moment, a Shadow Assassin came and took away his pistols. Count Vertigo smirked as he saw Lux standing in surrender and his niece pull up a small table and two chairs. "Now, Senator Bonteri, you will order the Team to stand down." Vertigo demanded. As Perdita pulled up the table and placed the two chairs on both sides, Lux gestured his hand towards the chairs. "Count Vertigo, have a seat." He politely stated. The assassins and soldiers all faltered as Vertigo raised an eyebrow. "Have you gone mad?" the Count asked in confusion. Lux grinned admittedly. "I have conceded the battle. Now, we simply have to negotiate the terms of surrender." Lux lied calmly. Count Vertigo swept aside his cape and scoffed. "Don't try any of your tricks." He demanded while pulling up the chair. Perdita smirked at her uncle. "Surely, we can't be civilized about this." She asked, causing her uncle to furrow his brow.
"It's a rare honor to meet one's opponent face-to-face." Lux stated. Count Vertigo was a bit flattered, but serious nonetheless. "Thank you, the honor's all mine. I'm so glad you decided to surrender." Vertigo politely replied. Lux and Perdita chuckled. "At some point one must accept the reality of the situation." Lux replied. Perdita cleared her throat before speaking. "Might we have some refreshments?" she asked. Vertigo nodded and looked to his advisor. "You! Bring us some wine and punch!" he ordered. The advisor nodded and walked away silently and slowly.
Outside, Artemis and Rocket kept a clear view of everything that was happening. "What is Lux doing?" Raquel asked to the archer. Robin popped up and sighed. "He's in for some serious suicide." He stated. M'gann flew up and nodded in disagreement. "I'm sure that he has some sort of trick up his sleeve." She stated.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Kid Flash ran as fast as they could, knocking out soldiers and Shadow associates while taking out the weaponry. "You're pretty good, babe." Wally flirtatiously stated to the Jedi. Ahsoka smirked. "Don't get too used to this, West." Ahsoka quipped. Wally chuckled as he continued to run. Ahsoka came across three assassins, who all had their swords drawn. Ahsoka grinned and jumped over them to perform a decapitation on them. Wally took the opportunity soon after to sweep them to the ground. "We make a pretty good team." Ahsoka complimented. Kid Flash chuckled and picked up some sort of strange seal. "I wonder what this is." He wondered to himself. Ahsoka shrugged as the two continued to attack the rebellion.
At the palace, the advisor for Count Vertigo poured some wine for Lux and the Count, while some fruit punch was being poured for Perdita. Lux raised a joyous eyebrow at Vertigo, who just chuckled and drank down. The other two did the same as Vertigo quickly finished up his drink before asking for more. Lux cleared up his throat before speaking. "And of course, once you've taken custody of the Team, arrangements have to be made for their food and shelter." Lux went on. The Count was starting to get bored of the very conversation. Lux coughed before speaking again. "Tell me, do you have any–?"
At that moment, Vertigo cut him off. "Enough of this! You are stalling!" he yelled across the room. Behind him, some glass fell off of the windows. Perdita chuckled and placed down her cup. "Nonsense, Uncle, there are numerous details to be discussed." She replied curtly before her uncle had finally lost it. He threw aside the table and pointed to the two. "Seize them!" he ordered, in which four soldiers picked them up by the arms. "Unless you call off the Team right now, I will have no choice but to destroy you!" Vertigo threateningly demanded. Lux chuckled. "We'll see about that soon enough." He quipped.
Ahsoka and Wally dashed right through the last tank, disabling it and causing the very war machine to explode. At the palace, Vertigo heard the sound of this and looked behind him. Finally, Lux broke free of his hold and unsheathed his hidden Darksaber and began to cut away at the soldiers before freeing Perdita. He then jumped behind Vertigo and placed his sword at his neck. "Do you care to surrender, Count?" Lux asked. The soldiers cocked their weapons to shoot, but Vertigo placed a hand up. "Don't fire!" he ordered. Lux smiled as he winked to Perdita, who winked back.
Ahsoka and Wally arrived at the scene. "Don't tell me we missed everything!" Kid Flash complained. Ahsoka chuckled. "That's Lux Bonteri for you, greatest Senator and boyfriend I could ever wish for." Ahsoka quipped. The rest of the Team came in and started to smile at the two. "That's a job well done." Aqualad complimented the two. Ahsoka and Lux beamed with pride. Wally walked over to Count Vertigo and grabbed his sword. "Now, this… is actually worth something for a souvenir." He stated before punching the Count into unconsciousness. Wally smiled to Ahsoka, who smiled back in response.
Mount Justice 1732 hours EST
The Team rested as they relaxed from their long mission to Vlatava. Vertigo was sentenced to an infinite imprisonment while his cooperators were taken off either to Arkham or Belle Reve. Either way, it was a win for the Team.
Ahsoka stood humbly by Wally as he placed the sword of Count Vertigo on his Souvenir Shelf. The two shared a good laugh before turning back to walk towards the Training Room. Lux was there, waiting for Ahsoka. "I believe it's pastime we head back home." Lux stated. Ahsoka looked nervously to Lux and then back to the Team. The Team all sent her happy looks, the girls at least, as well as Kid Flash. Ahsoka smiled and turned around and sighed. "I'm not going back, not without my family." Ahsoka bravely and confidently stated, finally putting her foot down. Lux's eyes widened with surprise as he looked from Ahsoka to the rest of the Team. "I'm staying." Ahsoka added on, walking backwards towards the Team.
Lux thought about it for a moment before finally sighing and chuckling. "I guess you win, then." Lux stated. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow as she looked to her boyfriend. "If you're staying, then so am I." The Senator added on. The rest of the Team cheered at this. Ahsoka squealed and ran up to Lux, immediately kissing him smack-dab on the lips. The Team oohed and awed in amusement and interest as they saw this. The two kissed until the amount of air was needed. Luc and Ahsoka chuckled with each other joyously. "I think that the name 'Rebel' will suit me for your Team." Lux added on. Ahsoka squealed once again as the two kissed each other. After letting go again, Ahsoka looked to Wally and winked, in which the speedster winked back. It was the start to a new trust between Jedi and speedster. As the Team rejoiced, Wally continued to look at the strange seal he found. What is this? He asked himself.

Sylas looked to a screen as he nodded. "I understand. Everything's about to change." He stated. He hung up on the call with his council before turning back to a freed but shackled Count Vertigo. "I supply you with weapons and the means to take back Vlatava, Count. Failure is unacceptable!" Sylas yelled. The rest of the ORDER operatives looked to the scene with horror. "I beg of you, one last chance!" Vertigo pleaded. Sylas scoffed. "Send him to the Pit!" the headman ordered. "NOOOOOO!" Count Vertigo yelled in horror as he was forcefully taken away.
Sylas sighed and looked to his scientists. "How goes the Multi-Dimensional Gateway?" Sylas asked. Stockman looked up and twitched his glassed. "It's complete!" he stated grandly. Sylas chuckled. "If that's so, then I'll be gone for a while." He informed. The ORDER nodded respectfully. "I leave Sinestro in charge for the moment. Do whatever he commands, and make sure not to fail me!" Sylas ordered. The ORDER saluted him with great respect as Sylas left off to the next dimension.
