Hello once again, everybody! SuperHeroTimeFan is back and with another new chapter of my best story ever, Path of the Padawan! After a great-written chapter, I think that I will continue to make progress with my story. After all, I couldn't have done it without all of my supporters! Thank you, Christian Jedi, JacklyinKarst, KrautYank, RozenMaiden7, Ocnarf, Logan GC, and many of the numerous Guest reviewers for liking my story so much! I must thank you all in some way. I know, how about another new chapter! If not, then perhaps something else. Now, I will be sure to answer everyone's questions before I start the new chapter. KrautYank, I think we're cool on the Halo debate. Everything is all settle. Also, to the rude Guest reviewer, if you have such a loud mouth and a great mind, why don't you just shut up and keep comments to yourself? There was nothing wrong with Chapter 3. Now that I have answered everyone's questions, I think that I can move onto my new chapter! Here it is! I would like to give special credit to The Christian Jedi for helping me to get this far! Chapter 11: Changing Tides
Santa Prisca February 1st 0638 hours
Sportsmaster and Deathstroke looked around at their operations on the island of Santa Prisca. From within the warehouse, all of the supplies in there are needed for the Light to carry out their plans. Gazing from Boom Tube generators to LexCorp weaponry and devices, the two masculine assassins nodded in approval. "All operations of the Light and our allies can be considered a success from now on." Sportsmaster stated optimistically. Deathstroke craned his neck and nodded. "By the time we're done, not even the Justice League or their insolent Team of sidekicks will be able to take us down." Deathstroke added on.
Just then, a girl walked up behind them. "How is all of this for the greater good, Father?" Rosalyn Wilson asked Deathstroke. Slade turned around and kneeled down to her level. "Rose, what we're doing is helping the known universe. Everything we do is for a greater good, even my conceiving of you." Deathstroke reminded his daughter. The silver-haired girl smiled and nodded. Deathstroke chuckled and embraced his daughter with passion. Slade removed his helmet and chuckled. "Now, be a good girl and wait back at the copter." Deathstroke told his daughter. Rose nodded and walked back to the outside.
Sportsmaster looked to Slade and sighed. "How can daughters be so important to people like us?" Crusher asked. Slade scoffed. "You're just jealous because your two daughters have strayed away from the assassin path." Deathstroke retorted. Sportsmaster removed his mask and sighed. "Jade is rebellious at times, and Artemis… she's just something else to me, something important." Lawrence explained. Slade removed his mask and chuckled as he placed a hand on Sportsmaster's shoulder. "Then you must know that Artemis and Rose are just alike: we both care about them." The eye-patched assassin stated. Sportsmaster sighed and chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Sportsmaster replied.
All of a sudden, the lights went out. "What's going on?!" Hook demanded to know. The two head assassins prepared their weapons as they prepared to take on any sort of invaders. "It might be that Team." Slade deducted. Just then, the two saw some moving blue wavy lines make their way across the room. "It's Aqualad." Crusher stated. All of a sudden, Aqualad started to strike and kill at many of the assassins. "You punk!" Hook yelled. All that could be heard of Aqualad was a sinister chuckle.
After Aqualad was done, three boomerangs were thrown at Hook. Hook looked up to see Robin on the top. He pressed a button on his gauntlet and then ran away with a sinister giggle. Hook looked behind him to see that there were birdarangs on his back! He started to panic in fear as the explosives started to bleep rapidly. "Let the sparks fly." Robin called out from his place. At that moment, the birdarangs exploded, killing Hook in the process. "Hook, no!" Sportsmaster called out. At that moment, Kid Flash then zoomed by and started pulling on all the grenades of the Shadow Assassins, followed by Superboy taking away Ultra-Humanite and crushing his skull. Deathstroke gasped as the Boy of Steel threw the gorilla's body back onto the ground, with his head twisted backwards. "I hate monkeys." He stated. Psimon looked all around as he could hear Miss Martian cackling evilly. "Psimon says I-I-I-I'm not afraid of you, so show yourself!" Psimon yelled nervously. The chuckling became even louder as it soon turned into a cackle. "Suit yourself, but you'll end up regretting it later on!" Miss Martian taunted in a singsong voice. Psimon screamed as he fell to the ground within a matter of seconds.
"We took you down before, and we're not afraid to do so again!" Sportsmaster called out. "Tut, tut, Father. You always told me to never be afraid." Artemis reprimanded from behind. Crusher turned around and saw Artemis in the shadows. "Leave now, Baby Girl." Sportsmaster demanded calmly. Artemis chuckled and threw Rose out into the open before shooting an arrow that scratched her right eye. Deathstroke gasped as Rosalyn screamed in pain. "How dare you!" Deathstroke yelled out as he unsheathed a sword and a gun. He yelled into the darkness as he started to shoot everywhere in fury. Just then, several lightning bolts started to hit the villains from all around. "We regret sparing you from last time, but no worries, because it will never happen… again." Zatanna teased. Sportsmaster roared out as he tossed his javelin into the air. Before he could even throw it though, a large bubble was formed around his head. "Either you say that the Light is nothing but a group of cowards or I cut off all oxygen completely." Rocket threatened. Sportsmaster began to pant and gasp for air, but he maintained his dignity. "That will never happen!" Crusher exclaimed. Rocket sighed sadistically. "Sorry, wrong answer." Rocket quipped. At that moment, the bubble closed and the two villains were knocked out unconscious. Queen Bee entered the room just then and then looked at what was happening. Before she could even speak, she started to shriek and clutch her head with her hands. "This is for blackmailing me, Bloody Queen!" M'gann yelled out. Queen Bee started to yell in pain as she also started to cry in pain. In a matter of minutes, everyone was out unconscious. The last thing that they heard was the sudden and evil laughing of the Team before falling into unconsciousness.
Mount Justice February 2nd 1116 hours EST
Ahsoka and the Team were training at the Cave. Sure, they might have been injured during their mission to Gotham, but nothing was going to stop them from staying prepared for the next attack. As Superboy attempted several punches at Ahsoka, the Togrutan Jedi jumped into the air and twirled to counter-kick him. As the Boy of Steel fell to the ground in pain, the rest of the Team stopped to take a break. "That was quite a workout." Connor stated to the Ex-Jedi. Ahsoka smiled and helped Connor up to his feet. "Don't sweat it, Superboy." Ahsoka stated back. Artemis and M'gann led the Team to Ahsoka and smiled as they walked over.
"Doesn't it feel great to know that we can finally have some time off?" Zatanna asked the Ex-Jedi. Ahsoka chuckled and placed a hand on the mage's shoulder. "This should happen more often!" Ahsoka replied. M'gann chuckled and walked up to hug the Togrutan. "I bet you must feel pretty happy now that you know the entire Team." M'gann stated. Ahsoka sighed. "Yes, it does." She said. The Team started to laugh, in which Ahsoka started to join in.
Ahsoka then walked over to her room as she unsheathed Barriss' lightsaber hilt. After she had found anything in the Cave deemed useless, Ahsoka decided started to take apart her new lightsaber. M'gann and Artemis looked to each other as Ahsoka started to reconstruct the lightsaber hilt. "Whose lightsaber was that?" Artemis asked. Ahsoka sighed and looked back to see the two girls. "I once had a friend when I was still a Jedi. Her name was Barriss Offee. We fought side-by-side with each other for a long time." Ahsoka explained. M'gann and Artemis exchanged looks before glancing back to Ahsoka. "What happened?" M'gann asked. Ahsoka sighed and went back to reconstructing the lightsaber. "Barriss felt corrupt about the way the Republic and the Jedi Order was starting to grow zealous about the ways things were starting to change. She framed me for crimes against the Jedi Order, but my master, Anakin, was able to catch her and help get the truth out of her." Ahsoka explained further on.
Artemis and M'gann exchanged saddened and sorrowful looks with each other before Artemis walked up to the Jedi. Artemis knelt down and placed her hand on Ahsoka's shoulder. "You're lucky that you had a great master to help you out." Artemis stated. Ahsoka chuckled and sighed. "Without him, I would have nearly been executed for a crime I didn't commit." Ahsoka replied. M'gann and Artemis smiled as the lightsaber hilt was nearly complete. "He's my greatest hope, the spark of my heart, the one who encourages me to keep going." Ahsoka explained. "I reconstruct this lightsaber to show my respect for the Jedi and my bond with my master." Ahsoka added on. The two girls watched in amazement as Barriss' old lightsaber looked completely new. It had a resemblance to Ahsoka's lightsaber hilt, only with a much more slanted edge and a rigid grip. Ahsoka opened her eyes and smiled at her newest creation. "It looked just like my master's." Ahsoka remarked. M'gann and Artemis smiled as Ahsoka beamed with pride.
Western Mongolia 1138 hours UTC
Sportsmaster and Deathstroke were called to a meeting with all members of the Light the next day. "One thing has been made clear, my masters." Sportsmaster stated to the Light. Vandal Savage looked down from his screen. "What would that be, Sportsmaster?" Vandal Savage asked. "The Team must be taken care of immediately. We've let them off the hook for all this time, and this time, they killed Hook, and nearly murdered Rosalyn Wilson." The villain stated. Deathstroke seemed to tense up at this. "I will carve out the archer's heart for nearly putting my daughter to death!" Slade announced. Queen Bee looked to the Light and nodded. "Miss Martian attacked me for my gambit with her. I had never seen such terror in her character before." The Monarch explained.
Lex Luthor nodded and sent a scowl. "It seems that even we have been too easy on the Team lately." Luthor remarked. Vandal Savage nodded at this. "Indeed. We shall now take down the Team with the first chance we get. We will show no mercy on them." Vandal Savage ordered. Deathstroke nodded. "The Team will be buried for their crimes." He stated. Sportsmaster nodded and started to growl.
Mount Justice 1214 hours EST
The Team stood ready in the Mission Room as Batman pulled up a holoscreen. "Considering all the rest you had for the past week, I believe that you are now ready for your next mission." The Dark Knight told the Team. Aqualad stepped up and cleared his throat. "What exactly is our next mission?" the Atlantean asked. Batman pulled up a visual of a military base. "The Rhelasian government is having trouble safeguarding one of their top secret military. Prime Minister Tseng Dangun has requested that reinforcements be sent to assist in the protection of the facility." Batman ordered. Ahsoka nodded. "So, to put things straight, we will be headed to Rhelasia to help guard a top secret military facility?" Ahsoka asked. Batman nodded. "Correct. Now, if there are no more further questions, I expect to see you all off." Batman remarked. The Team nodded as they soon left to the Bioship to get to Rhelasia.
Germany 1245 hours UTC
Black Widow walked into a dark room with eight hooded figures following her. As soon as they were all in the room, Barriss activated a holo-transmitter and bowed, followed by the rest of the disciples bowing as well, before Sylas, head of the ORDER. "We have performed our façade against the Light, my liege." Barriss reported. Sylas chuckled. "Excellent work, Black Widow. The Light and the Justice League will soon be in for a big surprise." Sylas stated.
Barriss smirked and sighed. "What is thy bidding, my master?" Black Widow asked. Sylas paced and looked to the Ex-Jedi. "Head to Rhelasia. You will find a military facility there. Steal all of its secrets and present them to me." Sylas replied. Barriss looked up and raised an eyebrow. "And… if the League or their Covert Operations Team gets in our way?" she asked. Sylas grinned. "You are free to do whatever you feel necessary to them. Make sure that you complete the mission." Sylas ordered. Black Widow bowed down once again and nodded. "It will be done, my lord." She replied. Sylas nodded and chuckled. "See to it that it is." He concluded before ending the transmission. Black Widow stood up and looked to her followers. "Let's go hunting." She quipped. The cloaked followers nodded and walked with her to perform their next task.
Rhelasia 1413 hours UTC
"We're here!" M'gann exclaimed to the Team. Lux and Ahsoka looked out the windows to gaze at the sight of Rhelasia. It looked just like Japan did, but these buildings were only bigger. "It looks incredible!" Lux stated. Ahsoka nodded in agreement as Aqualad looked out the window. "The military facility is right there, on the outskirts of town." The Atlantean pointed out as he directed his finger towards a large metal base. Ahsoka scoffed. "I wonder what they're holding that's so important." Ahsoka asked the Team. Robin shrugged and chuckled. "Some things are just meant to be kept a secret, Ahsoka." Robin replied. Ahsoka shrugged and smirked. "Yeah, I guess you're right." She stated. The Team chuckled as they prepared to land.
As Ahsoka was getting back in her seat, M'gann looked to her. "How much to you miss him?" she asked. Ahsoka raised an eyebrow and looked to the female Martian. "Who do you mean?" the Ex-Jedi asked. M'gann rolled her eyes. "Anakin, that's who I mean, do you, at all, miss him?" she repeated. Ahsoka sighed and slouched back in her seat. "I guess so. I mean, he's what gives me strength. The minute I met him, we got off to a rough start. But throughout the following years of war and battle, we began to grow on each other so much that we seem to be able to relate to one another." Ahsoka replied back.
M'gann looked around to see when they would land, and then looked back to Ahsoka. "You two are passionate for each other, then." M'gann deducted. Ahsoka sighed and looked to her new friend. "The passion seems to have left me during my last years in the Jedi Order, both as a Jedi and his apprentice. I don't think it'll happen again." Ahsoka remarked sadly. M'gann landed the Bioship and looked straight at M'gann in the eyes. "Passion doesn't just happen, Ahsoka. You, and only you, can make it grow… with every bit of hope and strength your heart can give you." M'gann instructed the Togrutan. Ahsoka looked up to M'gann with much confusion. "You'll learn more about it when the time comes." Miss Martian explained. Ahsoka nodded as the Team got off of their separate ships.
Aqualad led the Team to the military facility. There was no safe spot near the battle grounds for the ships to land, so they landed their ships a distance away from the base. After a while of walking, the Team had finally reached their destination. There, waiting for the Team, was Captain Atom, along with a squadron of Rhelasian soldiers. "It's good to see that Batman sent you to help out here, Team." The captain stated. Ahsoka and Aqualad nodded. "We will do our best to protect the base and its secrets." Aqualad said. Ahsoka smirked. "If the Light is behind this, then they won't know what hit them!" Ahsoka remarked. The military hero smiled at them and then turned to Lux. "Are you Rebel?" he asked. Lux nodded and saluted. "It would be an honor to serve under you, Captain Atom." Lux said. Captain Atom chuckled and placed his arm on the Senator's shoulder. "We need people like you and Ahsoka. Ever since you two arrived here, some strange things might have been happening, but some good things have emerged from your arrival as well." The captain pointed out. Ahsoka and Lux chuckled.
Just then, the sound of a jet caught their attention. Superboy looked up and narrowed his eyes. "It seems that the Light came sooner than expected." He retorted. Some of the soldiers nodded as several figures started to drop from the jet. Ahsoka and the Team scoffed as Sportsmaster, Deathstroke, Shimmer, the Terror Twins, Vordigan the Dark Archer, Klarion and Major Force emerged from the plane and landed on the ground. "Are you trying to prove something by attacking us like this, Dad?" Artemis asked snippily. The Team, Captain Atom, and the militia started to laugh at that point. Sportsmaster growled under his mask, much to the archer's surprise. "You attacked us on Santa Prisca, and we are here to return the favor!" Sportsmaster called out. The Team looked to each other in confusion as they all prepared themselves for battle. "The only time we attacked on Santa Prisca was when you were producing Kobra Venom and attempting to persuade Artemis, Superboy and I to your side." M'gann stated. Deathstroke snarled as he unsheathed his swords. "ENOUGH! You killed Hook, hindered Queen Bee and Psimon, and scarred my daughter's eye!" Slade proclaimed, but the Team still remained confused as to what was happening. "What are you talking about?" Rocket asked. "Rose may be a pain the derriere, but I'd never harm her!" Artemis yelled out. Sportsmaster unsheathed his ball and chain and pointed a saber at them. "When you murder one member of the Light, then the Light needs to show an example!" Sportsmaster spat out. Aqualad readied his Water-Bearers. "We never attacked you!" the Atlantean stated. Deathstroke scraped the ground with his sword and it lit up with fire. "Enough talking! You will all die!" he yelled in anguish. Several Shadow Assassins fell down from the jet as the Shadows started to charge furiously at the Team. "Protect the base! No one gets inside!" Ahsoka ordered. The Team all yelled affirmatively as they, Captain Atom and the Rhelasian militia yelled and charged at the Shadows.
Anachronistic Hell broke loose at that moment. The Team and the militia started to fight away at the Shadows, who seemed to be angry with them for some reason. Zatanna jumped into the air and sent a spell at Klarion, who replied with a spell of his own. Rocket and Captain Atom fought against Major Force while Robin fought against Shimmer. Superboy tackled Tommy Terror while Miss Martian fought against Tuppence. Artemis had her sights on Vordigan while Kid Flash clashed with some of the Shadow Assassins while Aqualad had his blades locked with Deathstroke. Ahsoka and Rebel took on Sportsmaster while the Rhelasian military took on the rest of the Shadow Assassins. "We did not attack you!" Ahsoka yelled out to Sportsmaster. Deathstroke scoffed and continued to clash with Kaldur. "You attacked us, and now, it is past time we let you off the hook. We're sending you to your funerals!" Slade remarked. The Team continued to fight as they had no idea that the military base was left unprotected.
As the two sides were battling everything out, a group of nine cloaked people entered the facility. Barriss looked to her team and nodded. "Let's get what we came for." She ordered. One of the figures nodded and started to download information while another one of the figures stood by the entrance to stand guard and aimed a longbow at the outside. "This mission will go perfect." One of the hooded figures stated sadistically. Black Widow looked to the figure and smiled. "Once we're done, the Team comes next." She promised. The hooded figures cackled as the one at the computer looked to Barriss and nodded slowly. Black Widow smiled as she continued to overlook the battle.
Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Lux continued to clash with Sportsmaster. As the Ex-Jedi pushed him away, Rebel shot at Sportsmaster's mask. The two warring factions backed away to a safe distance away from each other to regroup. As they were in their standoff, Ahsoka looked around. At that moment, both sides drew their weapons and started to charge at each other. Ahsoka's eyes widened all of a sudden as she looked from the facility to the factions. "WAIT!" she yelled. Both fighting factions were about to land a hit on each other until Ahsoka had yelled. Both sides froze in their fighting stances and looked to Ahsoka. She sheathed her lightsaber hilts before sighing and looking to the two sides. "This was all a setup! Someone's already in the base!" she yelled. The Shadows and the Team with the militia looked to each other before the League of Shadows ran away while the Team and their allies ran to the base.
Inside of the facility, the Team looked to what had happened inside. The computers had all gone static, and the emergency exits were completely destroyed. "So, were the Shadows behind all of this?" Kid Flash asked. Robin looked at the computers and then to the surveillance cameras. "I don't think so, and we can't even find out because someone jacked all of the cameras." Robin exclaimed somberly. The Team all grunted in anger as they were venting out their anger. Captain Atom walked up to them and sighed. "It wasn't your fault. The mission wasn't a failure. We can still track the hacker using League software. You all did a good job today." The captain told the Team. Aqualad smiled at first, but Robin and the rest of the Team started to smile after he did. "Let's go home." Lux said. Aqualad nodded as they all walked back to their ships. Unbeknownst to any of them, Barriss and her team were spying on them. "Time to act." Barriss commanded. The hooded figures nodded and started to stalk the Team while they were walking to their ships.
As the Team was walking back, Aqualad and Superboy started to look around. Ahsoka took notice of this and turned to them. "What's wrong, boys?" she asked. Superboy turned to her and sighed. "I feel like we're being watched." The Boy of Steel explained. Ahsoka nodded as Robin and Kid Flash started to look around as well. Zatanna and Rocket joined in, followed by Artemis and M'gann. "Something's not right." M'gann stated. "There's something really wrong here!" Zatanna exclaimed in a nervous sort of singsong voice.
Just then, an old soda can was kicked towards the Team. Robin looked down as the Team looked behind them. A cloaked figure was starting to approach them. Robin cringed in fear as he glared at the mysterious person. The figure chuckled and threw his cloak away, revealing him to be some sort of clone of Robin. The Team gasped at the sight of this. He looked just like Robin, except his colors were blood red and dark yellow in contrast to the original Robin. "We need to leave!" Robin yelled. Aqualad nodded as they started to run more quickly to the ships. All of a sudden, another hooded figure blocked their path. He cackled as he unveiled his cloak to reveal another clone of Superboy, except his shield had a 'U' on it, and his color scheme was pure blood red. "Let's take another way!" Connor yelled nervously. The Team all agreed and started to run faster.
Up ahead, there was an entrance to an underground parking lot. "We're getting closer!" Aqualad yelled. All of a sudden, they were shot upon. Connor groaned as he tried to regain himself, but a silver version of Miss Martian kicked him away while the evil clone of Superboy punched Miss Martian. Artemis looked to who fired, and gasped to see that it was her! The evil Artemis, in a violet redeco of the suit, fired upon the Team again. Just then, an evil doppelganger of Aqualad dashed in and slashed at the heroes, but they all dodged the attacks. Aqualad himself tried to land a hit, but the evil clone was too fast and slashed at the Atlantean. After that, without warning, the evil Robin and an evil Kid Flash jumped into the air and leapt off of the walls. The evil self of Kid Flash kicked away the speedster while the devilish Robin punched Robin away. Zatanna gasped. "Robin, I'm coming!" she yelled, but before she could provide assistance, a spell was sent her way. Zatanna blocked the spell with her own spell, but the evil Zatanna punched the original away. "Do you call yourselves the 'Great Team'?" evil Zatanna asked sadistically. Zatanna nervously backed away into Rocket, Lux and Ahsoka as they panted in fear. Just then, Ahsoka heard some footsteps come their way. The Team looked to the side to see a pure pitch black suited version of Rocket and a woman with a dark cloak, curved-hilted lightsaber hilts and a yellow mask walk towards them. Ahsoka's eyes widened at the sight of the masked woman. "Barriss!" she yelled. Black Widow only chuckled as both she and the evil Rocket neared them.
The Team all regrouped as the evil clones started to surround them. "It's been a while, Ahsoka." Barriss stated sadistically. The Team stood ready to fight as they looked around. "Black Widow." Barriss stated. "Enola." The evil Rocket stated while growling at them. "Prowler." The evil Artemis stated. "Xanadu." The evil clone of Zatanna stated. The Team continued to look around at their evil clones. "Falcon!" the evil clone of Robin stated. "Ultraboy." The evil clone of Superboy introduced while clicking his tongue at them. "We'll bury you." Silver Martian stated. "Inertia." The evil version of Kid Flash stated deeply. "Blood Bane." Aqualad's evil self stated with a low growl. The Team looked around nervously as Black Widow lifted her right hand. With that, she sent a mighty Force-Push towards the Team, knocking them back. The Team was sent back against the wall inside of the underground parking lot as Barriss led her evil army towards them. "Call us… Terror Titans." She exclaimed. The Team stood up and prepared to fight. Ahsoka unsheathed her lightsabers as the rest of the Team stood ready to fight. Barriss smirked under her helmet and activated her red lightsabers. As she pointed one of her lightsabers to the Team, she started to laugh. "Titans… go!" she yelled. With that, the Terror Titans set off to attack the Team.
The Team and the Terror Titans began to fight against each other in a much-heated battle. Aqualad was clashing Water-Bearers Blood Bane with Blood-Bearers against each other, Robin and Falcon started to jump around and throw boomerangs at each other while Kid Flash and Inertia were having a hyper battle. Superboy and Ultraboy kept exchanging punches and hard knocks with one another while Miss Martian and Silver Martian fought telekinetically against each other. Artemis and Prowler were engaged in a gunfight while Zatanna and Xanadu kept exchanging spells and attacks. Rocket kept struggling with Enola as Ahsoka and Rebel fought Black Widow together.
"We seem to be at a standoff!" Aqualad remarked to Blood Bane. Bane nodded in disagreement as he pointed his Blood-Bearer at Aqualad's shoulder. Kaldur looked down to notice a small cut made by him. "That doesn't change a thing!" Aqualad spat, but Blood Bane started to cackle. At that moment, Blood Bane used his Blood-Bearer at Aqualad's cut. Kaldur started to tremble as he felt something take over his body. All of a sudden, he was lifted up into the air, with Blood Bane still controlling him. "You will OBEY!" Blood Bane yelled as he slashed freely at Aqualad. Kaldur started to scream as Blood Bane laughed in insanity, slashing at Aqualad nonstop.
As Robin and Falcon battled against each other, Robin knocked Falcon to the ground. Before the Boy Wonder could attack, Falcon sent a taser cord to him. Robin yelled in pain as Falcon electrocuted him, laughing in madness. Zatanna took notice of this and gasped. "Robin, hold on!" she yelled. Before she could reach her boyfriend, Xanadu lunged forwards and reached into Zatanna. Zatanna groaned as she felt something come out of her. Xanadu chuckled as she revealed a voodoo doll of Zatanna. Zatanna gasped at this. "You wouldn't!" she yelled. Xanadu chuckled as she took a needle and plunged it into Zatanna's head. Zatanna started to scream in pain as Xanadu chuckled. She then blasted another spell at her.
Kid Flash jumped up into the air to land a punch on Inertia, but all of a sudden, he vanished. "Where am I?" Inertia asked sadistically. At that moment, he appeared behind Kid Flash and punched him in the teeth. Wally fell to the ground as Inertia started to attack him while he was down. Artemis saw this and growled. "Leave him alone!" she yelled. But before she could defend the speedster in yellow, Prowler thrust an arrow into her side. Artemis groaned lightly as she held back the pain. "Doesn't it just feel great to burn?" Prowler asked as she began to dig the arrow in deeper. Artemis shrieked as she could feel some blood dripping.
As Superboy ran to punch Ultraboy, the evil clone of him flew into the air. "I've got everything you don't!" Ultraboy taunted as he flew down. Superboy gasped and attempted to run away, but Ultraboy drove a hand into his back. "Feel the burn, knockoff!" Ultraboy yelled, causing Superboy to fall to the ground in pain. M'gann kicked Silver Martian away and prepared to attack her again, but Silver Martian cackled as she extended her hand towards the Green Martian. M'gann dropped to the ground and shrieked. "Feel what it's like to burn!" Silver Martian exclaimed, causing her psychic attack to dig deeper. "MAKE IT STOP!" M'gann yelled, but she shrieked even more and louder than before as Silver Martian laughed insanely. Rocket tried to defend herself from Enola's attacks, but she was at a huge disadvantage. As Rocket was able to just make shields, Enola could make any sort of construct she wished to have. As Enola created a golden drill construct, she drove it into Raquel. Rocket gasped and stopped panting as the drill started to seep into her chest. Enola cackled as she made Rocket burn in pain.
As Lux slashed at Black Widow, she swept aside and knocked him away. Before Rebel could regain himself, Barriss Force-Sped over and knocked his blade away before speeding away again to attack Lux over and over again. After a while of merciless attacking, Lux was sent tumbling to the ground. Barriss walked over and laughed. "I'm going to enjoy this!" Black Widow stated sadistically. "Widow!" Ahsoka yelled. Barriss looked aside as Ahsoka clashed blades with her. Lux tried to get up, but fell to the ground soon after. The rest of the Team was at their mercy, being taken down by their clones. Ahsoka and Black Widow clashed fiercely as they ran throughout the parking lot.
As Aqualad was thrown to the ground bleeding, Blood Bane stood on his chest and picked up a drop of his blood. Aqualad fell back, exhausted as he watched Blood Bane lick the Atlantean's blood. "You… are a monster!" Aqualad yelled. Blood Bane looked down and chuckled. "Aren't we all?" he asked. Aqualad growled at Bane, but the clone cackled. "Humanity is the greatest monster ever existing!" Blood Bane remarked. "No one has ever cared to do anything about what goes on in the world!" Falcon exclaimed as he kicked away Robin. "But with the help of the ORDER…" Inertia went on, punching Kid Flash. "Humanity can evolve!" Ultraboy exclaimed while punching Superboy into a pillar. "Because of humankind's errors…" Silver Martian yelled while continuously psychically attacking M'gann. "The Earth is a barren wasteland of slavery to their corruption!" Prowler remarked, kicking away a limping and weakened Artemis. "God has made the error of letting humans run free!" Xanadu stated as she grabbed Zatanna by the hair. "So we will rectify that mistake!" Enola yelled as she blasted Rocket away.
Ahsoka continued to clash with Black Widow as the Team was at their mercy. As Ahsoka tried to stab at the girl who was once her best friend, Barriss jumped over Ahsoka and punched her away. Ahsoka yelled as Black Widow lifted her into the air and slammed her into the wall. Barriss chuckled as she neared Ahsoka. "You're finished, Tano! Not even your master can save you now!" Barriss taunted Ahsoka looked up as Barriss drove one of her crimson lightsabers into her chest. "Your hope… is gone!" Barriss yelled. Ahsoka felt like she was about to fall into darkness at that moment as she could see darkness surround her and hear Barriss laughing evilly in victory. Before her eyes could close forever, Ahsoka thought back to what M'gann told her. "Passion won't just happen; you have to make it grow with every bit of hope and strength your heart can give you." Ahsoka opened her eyes and she started to think back even more. Black Widow gasped at the sight of Ahsoka not dying yet, and even more at the sight of her glowing!
Ahsoka remembered. She remembered every moment Anakin was there to look out for her, every moment he was there for her, and every moment they had spent together. Ahsoka opened up her eyes wide as she saw the Daughter appear before her. "Am… am I dead?" Ahsoka asked the Daughter. The Daughter smiled and nodded no. "You shall have the ability to completely master the powers of the Force. Let the hope be with you!" she exclaimed. With that, a bright light engulfed Ahsoka as she started to glow.
Ahsoka opened her eyes wide as she looked to Barriss' blade still plunged into her chest. The Togrutan Jedi looked to Black Widow and smirked. Barriss was in deep shock to see that Ahsoka was still alive! With a mighty heave, Ahsoka pulled out the red lightsaber from her chest. Barriss looked to her in surprise. "How?!" she asked dumbfounded and quite surprised. Ahsoka stood up as blue energy beamed within and throughout her. Black Widow began to growl as she activated her lightsabers once again. Ahsoka grinned and charged towards the zealous Jedi.
As the rest of the Terror Titans were wiping the floor with the Team, the sound of Barriss and Ahsoka's battle caught their attention. Silver Martian noticed the battle and stopped her mental attack to see the battle. M'gann got up and looked to Ahsoka glowing with power. "You've found your hope." She stated. With that, M'gann fainted with a smile on her face.
Ahsoka sent a powerful slash towards Black Widow. Barriss fell back in pain as the rest of the Terror Titans came to her aid. Ahsoka grinned and formed a ball of Force Lightning. "Come and get it!" she quipped. With that, she blasted the Force Lightning at the rest of the Terror Titans. They all fell down with one shot as Barriss looked to them in both disbelief and shock as Ahsoka drew nearer. Barriss yelled as she slashed her lightsaber at Ahsoka, but the blade recoiled. Barriss snarled as she sent a stab, but Ahsoka grabbed the blade once again as she threw Black Widow off. The Team still conscious looked up in wonder as Ahsoka fought against Barriss. At that moment, the rest of the Terror Titans surrounded her. Ahsoka looked around and took a deep breath. Then, with some calm movements, Ahsoka encircled her arms and then leapt into the air. "No way!" Enola yelled. Ahsoka held her arms around her body as she lifted up her right foot. She opened her eyes to see the Terror Titans in shock and then smirked. "Way!" she quipped. With that, she spread out her arms and unleashed a large amount of the power of the Force. The Terror Titans were sent back as Black Widow was knocked to the ground.
Ahsoka walked over to the rest of the Team as she looked to them with worriment. "Are you guys alright?" she asked. Lux gave a slight smile before going into unconsciousness. Ahsoka looked back to the Terror Titans before holding a hand to her head. "You've… lost." Ahsoka stated. At that moment, Ahsoka fainted from her overuse of power and exhaustion. The Terror Titans looked to the Team. "Let's finish them off!" Falcon exclaimed. Just then, Batman swept in with Superman and Captain Marvel. They stopped in their tracks as they gasped at the fallen Team. Batman looked up to see the Terror Titans, who remained silent. In a split second, the Terror Titans disappeared as the rest of the Justice League arrived to find the Team. "We need to get them back to the Cave." Black Canary exclaimed.
Mount Justice February 3rd 1138 hours EST
Ahsoka winced her eyes as she looked up to see a light. She blinked a couple of times before gasping and darting out of bed. She looked to see the rest of the Team still recovering from their wounds as Batman looked to Ahsoka after tending to his ward. "What happened back there?" he asked monotonously. Ahsoka got up and started to limp forward. "An evil group of clones of the Team attacked us. They claimed to be working for an organization called 'ORDER', and they called themselves the Terror Titans." Ahsoka explained. Batman glared at Ahsoka before looking to the same phoenix insignia Wally had given him. As Ahsoka smiled at the sight of R7-A7 rolling towards her, Batman continued to take mental notes. "ORDER." He said to himself.
Bialya 1216 hours UTC
Black Widow and the rest of the Terror Titans bowed before Sylas with sorrow and regret. "Forgive us, Master Sylas. We have failed." Barriss stated. Sylas looked down to Barriss and chuckled. "You just proved that even the Justice League's great Team cannot be defeated by the likes of our Terror Titans." Sylas remarked. The Terror Titans smiled and looked up. Sylas grinned as he nodded to Barriss. Black Widow nodded back as she stood up.
"Seeing as how Ahsoka Tano was able to evolve beyond the Force, I believe it's time we start our own evolution." Sylas stated. Barriss lifted an eyebrow and looked to Sylas as he led her to a laboratory. "What do you mean?" Black Widow asked. Sylas scoffed as he picked up a vial of a strange, green chemical and allowed a spider to crawl up his shoulder. "This is the Symbio Enhancer. Dr. Prospect created it after I commissioned for its creation." Sylas explained. Barriss looked to the vial and looked back to Sylas. "What does it do?" she asked. "It will evolve humanity." He simply stated. Black Widow sighed and took the vial. "I'm ready." She stated. Sylas nodded as he affirmatively to Barriss. Black Widow let the spider run up her back as she soon drank the Symbio Enhancer. After drinking it, Barriss dropped the vial and began to moan. Sylas backed away as Barriss started to moan even louder. The Terror Titans started to hear what was going on and looked at what was happening inside of the room. "AAAUUGGHHH!" Barriss yelled painfully. Soon, spider legs started to form out her back. After a while, Barriss opened up her eyes and started to laugh in madness. The legs started to form into large black, devilish wings as Barriss flew into the air. Sylas laughed as well as he snapped his fingers. The lights went out as he proclaimed, "Let it begin!"
