Chapter 38
The door swang back and hit the girl. Her spit went all over his mouth. He gaged and tried to move away. "Lilac! Lilac! Come on, I did it. Where are you?" Some kid's voice filtered over to them. Stone watched the boy as he ran into the hall, the man stepped and grabbed the boy. "Lilac!" The boy yelled his eyes on them.
Mackenzie shoved the girl off him. "Eww! Girl germs. Girl germs." He wiped his mouth with his hand and tried to wipe it on the girl. "You're so disgusting! Why did you even do that? Do you know it's rude to run into people?" He stood.
The girl started to yelled, "Me? Rude! Psha! You are the worst thing in Panem. Why are you even here? If you weren't here Franklin would be here, and Jack, and Zack. I hate you more than I've hated anyone before! You are slimy and vile, and you don't even know what rude is." She stood his face red, and her hands clenched. She took a swing at Mackenzie. He ducked and punched her instead. Not caring that hitting grils was back his fist slammed into her arm. It wasn't the best timed punch, nor was it the strongest but it send Lilac whirling.
Stone let go of the boy and grabbed the girl instead, pulling her away from his charge. Mackenzie looked like he'd run a marathon and was glaring at the girl. "Don't hit me, or there will be consequences." Lilac screamed and struggled in Stone's hands, but Jasper came over and grabbed her arm. "Lilac! Lilac stop! We can't win." Lilac stared at her friend.
"What about…?" Disbelief filled her eyes and she shook her head. "Okay…I…we got revenge, right?" Jasper nodded, his eyes glanced at Stone with fear, and then he returned to Lilac. Stone waited a second then let the two children go. They ran off, emotion filling their bodies.
Mackenzie watched, rubbing his lips. "Gross. Girl germs."
