Hey there, everyone, I'm back! That's right, everyone, it's me! SuperHeroTimeFan is here and returning to you all with a new chapter of my ultimate story, Path of the Padawan! It feels so great to have made it this far! I have so many supporters, and if it weren't for all of you, I don't know how I would have been able to get to this point! Thank you so much! I don't know what to say, you're all too awesome for words! Now, before I start, allow me to answer everyone's questions. KrautYank, I see you are concerned for my choice of Ravager's gun in my last chapter. Her Walther P-38 is a gun I decided to add in for her to use, as her father uses an Uzi gun in other stories. I wanted her to be as much like her father as I could make her. Ahsokanerd, the last chapter was not the end. It was just Ahsoka telling herself what had happened so far, and her choice to stay on Earth. Crashingthroughthesnow, I did indeed use a Transformers reference in my last chapter. It was so that Ahsoka could tell what has happened so far. Jenn, you have exactly the right thoughts about my story. Since Ahsoka's fate was never revealed due to the cancellation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I really wanted to have her join the Team since Young Justice was cancelled as well. After all, both shows need more recognition than they already have. Don't you think so? Now that I answered everyone's questions, allow me to move onto my new chapter for Path of the Padawan! Chapter 28: Novastar
Gotham City April 18th 0456 hours
The Team ran across the empty streets of Gotham as the ORDER started to make its move. Mist flew around the area as M'gann and Zatanna flew down to the streets. Aqualad held his Water-Bearers at the ready as he gestured for the rest of the Team to follow him. "We need to be careful, everyone." The Atlantean whispered to his teammates. Serra caught up with him and nodded. "I agree, Aqualad. From the looks of the operations and the numerous reports, everything is being headed by Sylas." She reported. Robin leapt off of a wall and looked to the leader. "I have a scan of every ORDER operative in the area, and they're all heading to that building." The Boy Wonder explained, pointing to a large warehouse.
Ahsoka and Artemis led the rest of the Team to where Aqualad, Robin and Serra were. "Let's go." The Togrutan whispered. Ahsoka led the Team behind the warehouse in an alley. "Don't let your guard down. Sylas could be anywhere." Artemis stated. At that moment, all thirteen members of the Team hid as an ORDER operative entered a hidden door. Wally looked over and smirked. "I found it!" he yelled. Just then, the Team started to hear some sinister laughter come out from the air. "And I found a group of pathetic children, with only seconds to live." Sylas's voice came out. Jaybo scoffed and continued to look around like the rest of the Team was. "I wouldn't want to be them." He mused. Serra scowled and grabbed him by the collar. "We are them!" she spat.
At that moment, the sound of a lightsaber activating echoed throughout the area. Aqualad looked to the Team and nodded. "Stay sharp, and be prepared." He ordered. The rest of the Team nodded as Robin and Drol unsheathed their weapons. Before they could use them, though, Sylas's black lightsaber was thrown towards the Team. Saw gasped at this and looked to everyone else. "Get down!" he ordered. Robin and Jaybo both gasped as the lightsaber blade was thrown to them. Zatanna shrieked as she saw her two friends die right in front of her. "Sylas, you'll pay for that!" she yelled. She then got up and attempted to attack, but the lightsaber started to change direction as it started to launch at her like a missile. Zatanna gasped and prepared for impact, but Serra got in the way, causing her to die.
Ahsoka gasped and looked down to Serra's fallen body as Sylas emerged from the mist and shot Sith Lightning at Saw and Sith Fire in Aqualad's face. Connor attempted to punch him from above, but Sylas just grabbed his skull, cracked it and then threw Superboy's lifeless body at Kid Flash. The two were then sent into the mist. Rocket gasped and created many shields to protect her and the rest of the remaining Team, but Sylas cut through it and sent a stab to Raquel's chest, killing her immediately. Artemis got a high ground and tried to shoot an arrow at Sylas, but he caught the arrow and threw it back at her. Artemis gasped as the arrow was sent down her throat. Sylas smirked at this and Force-Gripped Artemis, causing her to press the button on her bow. At that moment, the arrow immediately exploded, killing the archer.
Zatanna growled and jumped into the air to attack, but Sylas just grabbed her wand and threw her into the mist as well. Ahsoka and M'gann, the only two remaining, gasped as the mist appeared to swallow her. M'gann angrily got up and turned invisible as she reached for Aqualad's Water-Bearers. She was about to land on the ground and land a stab the head of the ORDER, but he just grabbed the blades and impaled her with his lightsaber. Ahsoka gasped once again as M'gann was sent to the ground, crawling to her alien friend. "Help me!" she called out. Sylas grinned disgustedly and shot Sith Fire at her, killing her like the rest of the Team.
Ahsoka gasped as she watched her best and last friend die. "M'gann, no!" she yelled. In anger, she looked to Sylas and activated her lightsabers and prepared to attack Sylas for all that he had done, but he Force-Dashed up to her and kicked her to the ground. Ahsoka groaned as her lightsabers came out of her hands. She rubbed the back of her neck in pain, moaning as well, but the sound of lightsabers being scraped caught her attention. Sylas ran his blade along the wall, nearing the Togrutan dangerously. "There can be no place you can run; no place you can hide, where I will not find you!" he darkly remarked. Ahsoka backed away nervously from Sylas, but gasped softly when she hit the back of the wall. "You think you are ready to face me?" Sylas asked. With that, he swung his lightsaber at Ahsoka. The Togrutan gasped as she felt the lightsaber reach her neck. She let out a loud shriek of terror, feeling her death until…
Mount Justice April 21st 0456 hours
Ahsoka woke up with a start as she let out the same scream of terror she had when she died. She panted as she looked around to see that she was in her room. Ahsoka started to feel her chest for any pain as she hyperventilated nervously. She looked around to see if anyone else was in the room for security, but noticed that there was no one else. She sighed in relief when she saw that she was alone and started to remove her shirt.
Before Ahsoka could remove her shirt, her door was knocked open, causing the Togrutan to gasp and put her shirt back on. M'gann, Zatanna and Serra all ran into her room right then and ran over to Ahsoka. "We heard a scream!" Zatanna exclaimed as M'gann flew around her Togrutan friend. "What happened?!" she asked anxiously. Ahsoka looked bewildered as she saw Serra hold her lightsaber hilts in her hands as if someone had broken into the Cave. "I'm fine, everyone, I assure you." Ahsoka assured the girls. M'gann sent Ahsoka a concerned look before the Togrutan sighed and sent a forced smile back at her. "I just need some more rest, girls." She stated. Serra and M'gann both looked to Ahsoka worryingly before she smiled and patted them on the shoulders. "I'll see you in the morning!" she bid them. The three nodded and went back to their rooms.
Ahsoka smiled and sighed when they left, but the smile wore off soon after. She unzipped her shirt and looked down. At that moment, she let out a soft gasp. The same scar that Sylas made was still there! Ahsoka silently went back to bed without a sound. Why is this happening to me? The Togrutan asked herself before she fell back to sleep.
Bellwood Illinois April 20th 2228 hours UTC
Devastation stood over a large bridge on Bellwood, looking down to all the passing vehicles below. She chuckled as she pounded her fist into the palm of her hand and smirked to every one of the beings below. "If the ORDER thinks that they can interfere with the affairs of the Light so easily then they've got another thing coming!" she exclaimed. With that, she leapt off of the top of the bridge and landed down onto its pavement with a large slam.
Everyone stopped where they were and looked at her from their vehicles. Soon, they all gasped as she charged into a large convoy of vehicles being led by a school bus with children inside. She growled and lifted the bus as she made her way to the edge of the bridge. "If the ORDER can see this, then they'll know that the Light will not tolerate to eradicate them!" Devastation yelled out. She started to laugh as she prepared to throw the bus into the flowing river below.
At that moment, Devastation threw the bus over the side of the bridge. All of a sudden, the bus started to fly back up. Devastation gasped as it was landed back onto the bridge, much to the surprise of the civilians. Devastation gasped once again as a girl landed on top of the large bridge, her cape flowing through the wind. She wore a golden domino mask, as well as a crimson shirt with a golden star in the middle, with five small golden triangles on her shirt, which connected to make another star. She also had a bright-red skirt and a black belt around her waist, and on her shoulders were red blades, as well as blue-fire socks and orange shoes. She sent a glare at Devastation, causing her to step back.
"Who the hell are you?" Devastation demanded. The girl just walked up to her and held her hand up to her face. "As a pure heart's light shines bright, a corrupted one dims with much darkness." The girl started out. She then pointed one of her fingers into the air and still kept walking towards the superpowered criminal. "My heart burns with justice, but yours can only shun all light and only embrace the dark. I… am Novastar, the flame of hope." Novastar finished up.
Devastation growled as she started to near him. "If I were you, I'd step off this bridge before someone gets hurt." Novastar calmly threatened. Devastation just growled as she charged at the new hero, but the fiery heroine just grabbed her arm. Devastation growled once again and attempted to land another punch, but Novastar grabbed it with her other hand and twirled her around soon after. Now, Devastation was the one who hung onto the edge of the bridge while Novastar looked down to her. "I'd hang around for a while longer, criminal. You're stuck in a cliffhanger while I, as well as these many people, have reached a good ending." She quipped. Devastation growled as Novastar flew away with many people cheering her on.
Novastar looked down and sighed as she flew down to an apartment building. She quickly flew behind a chimney and a flash of light emerged. Soon after, a girl came walking out in her place. She wore a pink sweater with a black tank top underneath, as well as a white skirt and socks with the same-colored tennis shoes. This girl, Julie Carmen, looked up into the sky and sighed as she walked off into the apartment. "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? For when the sun shines, a day of hope begins for us all." Julie said, quoting William Shakespeare. She sighed happily as she ran down to her apartment room. Today was going to be a big day for her.
Mount Justice April 21st 1129 hours ETC
Ahsoka trained with Black Canary as the Team just watched. It hadn't been long after the teenagers known as the Outsiders attacked, and it hadn't even been longer when Ravager, Deathstroke's daughter known as Rosalyn Wilson, joined them. Ever since their attack and the choice to remain as Outsiders, the Team started to train hard and fight with every bit of strength they had in them. They now knew that there were even more enemies that were out there, waiting to attack them, so they were now on the lookout 24/7. M'gann felt the same way as the rest of the Team, but whenever she tried to talk to her friend, Ahsoka always replied back angrily. I hope that she isn't so stressed out by all of this. The Martian thought to herself as she and the Team oversaw the battle between the two heroines.
Dinah swept aside as Ahsoka attempted to land a punch at her. Dinah felt like she knew every attack Ahsoka was going to make, but her pride was wiped clean as Ahsoka landed a roundhouse kick at her chest. Black Canary fell to the ground, but got back up soon after. When she did, Ahsoka performed a series of endless punches at her. The Team all gasped at the Togrutan's violent behavior. "I never thought I'd see Dinah tire out or even cry." Serra whispered to Saw. The Onderonian soldier nodded as he sent a look over to Artemis and Kid Flash. The archer stood in shock and took out her crossbow. With it, she fired an arrow between Ahsoka and Black Canary while Wally ran to push Ahsoka back.
"Black Canary, are you feeling alright?" Artemis yelled. The Bird of Prey panted as she stopped to catch her breath and look back to the Team. "Yeah, I just got a fist in my eye, nothing more and nothing less." She replied calmly. M'gann flew up to Ahsoka and placed her hand to her arms. "Ahsoka, why don't you take a rest?" she suggested. Ahsoka looked to Megan and started to think over what she just said. "Well, the ORDER and the Light won't rest…" Ahsoka started out, causing Robin and Aqualad to run to the Martian's side. "As a matter of fact, they won't rest until we're DEAD!" Ahsoka finished up, performing a low sweep at the three teens' feet. They all gasped as they fell to the ground, causing Black Canary to gasp. "I may be a great fighter and an excellent training instructor, but as of now, that's enough, Ahsoka!" Dinah yelled. Ahsoka looked up and sighed as she started to walk away. M'gann looked to Connor worryingly before they started to run after her in worriment.
Bellwood Illinois 0538 hours UTC
A girl walks up to the front desk of the Bellwood hospital anxiously. The clerk looked to her and nudged her glasses before speaking. "What may I do for you, dear?" she asked. The girl, Julie Carmen, took a deep breath before she responded back. "Is Benjamin Malcolm still the current occupant here?" she asked. The nurse smiled and nodded. "Please head down to Room 16 on the left, and you should be able to find him." She said. Julie looked up and smiled. "Thank you." She said happily.
Julie panted as she calmly walked up to where her boyfriend lay. Julie was a kind girl with a kindred heart, always kind to others. However, since the ORDER made their appearance and endangered the lives of many innocents, she had changed. She thought about her fiancé, Ben, the man who was caught in an incident after refusing to join the ORDER. It haunted her forever, and she thought of nothing but getting back at the ORDER for what they had done. "Ever since you backed down from the ORDER enrollment a week ago, I swear to do all that I can to make sure they, as well as anyone else involved with lust and greed, pay for their most heinous acts." She swore to herself as she approached her boyfriend's room.
Benjamin Malcolm stood in his bed as he lay injured and hindered in the Bellwood hospital. The ORDER seemed to have scarred him badly, as his life support was low and he couldn't breathe properly. The nurse looking after him walked to the door and saw Julie there with an anxious look on her face and a forced smile. "Can I see my fiancé?" she asked nervously. The nurse smiled and nodded as Julie walked up next to Ben's bed. Benjamin looked to the side and groaned. "Julie, is that you?" he asked. Julie smiled and nodded. "Are you feeling any better?" she asked. Ben nodded and groaned some more before looking to her chest.
"Do you remember that day, when the eclipse occurred?" Ben asked. Julie looked down to her heart and felt her chest burning as she looked back and nodded. "Everyone else at the moment had given into despair, but I was the only one who held onto hope and survived." She concluded. Ben just smirked as he looked over to her again. "That eclipse back then was so dangerous and so many years ago, yet the powers were able to keep you alive." He added on, hinting some jealousy. Julie looked to Ben with nervousness and began to shudder as she replied, "Yes, and as of now, I really wish I could give some of that to you." Both seventeen-year-old teens looked to each other lovingly before Ben started to cough again. Julie let a tear slide down her face as she started to walk away.
Julie sighed as she walked on top of the hospital building. "I can't let anyone else share the same fate you nearly had, Ben. I swear to do anything it takes to banish injustice from this world forever." The Korean girl said to herself. Just then, she saw one of the ORDER copters fly by. "That's my cue." She said to herself before running off to see where the ORDER was headed. As she was running, Julie threw her backpack into the air and let a golden star fall into her hands. "Bi sha ji, ORDER!" she exclaimed to herself excitedly.
Mount Justice 1234 hours ETC
Back at Mount Justice, Ahsoka paced through her room angrily. "How come people like those Outsiders or the ORDER have to make my troubles more complicated than they already were?" the Togrutan asked herself stressfully. Ahsoka sighed and sat down on her bed as she placed her hands up to her face. M'gann walked into the room and saw Ahsoka sitting down on her bed. Connor walked over to his girlfriend and nodded before the two went off to check up on their alien friend. The two walked up to the Togrutan slowly and took a couple of deep breaths before M'gann cleared up her throat and started to speak.
"Can we talk to you, Ahsoka?" the Martian female asked. Ahsoka looked up and nodded. "Is this still about earlier?" she asked. M'gann sent a nervous look to her friend and gave a nod of agreement. "Would you like to talk about it?" M'gann asked. Ahsoka sighed and stood up. "Okay, so when I got here, I was actually thinking of restarting my life with the Team." The young Togrutan explained. "Ever since I was expelled from the Jedi Order, I always longed for a new life to begin; a life where I could get away from all the stress I was put through back then." Ahsoka added on. Connor scoffed and sent a grin at the Ex-Jedi. "And when you were finally settling in, Sylas came with the ORDER and started to use your past to haunt you again, right?" the Kryptonian pointed out. Ahsoka nodded and looked down to her feet meekly. "After those following days, when we were ambushed by the Terror Titans, nearly got killed by Sylas and got attacked by the Outsiders, I had no idea what to think of this planet anymore." Ahsoka finished up.
She sat back down as M'gann sat next to her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Ahsoka, we all make mistakes once in a while, but what was this one about?" she asked. The Togrutan looked up and let a tear slide down her cheek as she lay down on her bed. "No matter how many times the thought escaped me; I knew that Sylas, the Light, or anyone else would never stop until we were out of their way." Ahsoka explained. M'gann smiled and patted her on the shoulder again. "Everyone is always feeling stressed by what goes on, Ahsoka." M'gann reasoned. The Togrutan looked up as Connor sent a warm smile to her. "It doesn't mean that you need to get all worked up about it." The Boy of Steel added on. M'gann then stood up and then started to look down to Ahsoka. "Stress comes and goes, but we never let that get in the way of ourselves." M'gann added on. Ahsoka looked up to the Martian with a confused look before she extended her hand down to her. "Don't ever forget that we are always by your side." M'gann concluded. Ahsoka smiled and grabbed M'gann's hand, letting the Martian female help her up to her feet. "Now, what do you say I go make us some cookies?" M'gann suggested. Ahsoka laughed and hugged her best friend, in which Miss Martian returned the favor.
Bellwood 0641 hours UTC
Back in Bellwood, Julie ran across rooftops as she threw her suit into the air. She performed a sideways twirl in the air, causing her suit to enwrap around her and a light to glow. When the light cleared, she was now Novastar. She started to fly off to where the ORDER was headed and watched everything unfold.
Syrena led her ORDER operatives through the streets as many civilians just stood where they were and watched everything occur. Alakshmi walked up to another feminine figure in a trench coat, being guarded by seven armed guards and a muscular man.
From a distance away, a man was watching from the shadows. "I have sight of the ORDER and their cooperators." The man reported through a transceiver. "You know what to do here, boy." The man on the other end replied. The young man nodded and pointed a .50 M2 caliber machine gun in front of him. "Either way, Sir, their treasures will soon belong to us." The boy quipped as he watched Alakshmi walk up to her benefactor.
Alakshmi smirked as she walked up to the dark and mysterious female. "I've brought the money, just as I promised." She stated, signaling for one of the ORDER operatives to come to her with a briefcase. The woman looked down and watched as she opened up the briefcase, revealing four-hundred sets of one-hundred dollar bills. She then looked up to the girl and sent her a glare. "Now, I would very much like those special devices in return." She then reminded. The mysterious female looked to her and nodded as she clicked her fingers, summoning one of the guards to come up to her with another briefcase, placing it into her hands. "Our great and sincere master ensures that your batch of Starro Tech will bring you fortune and anything you desire." She stated. Alakshmi chuckled and looked at each one of the Starro Technology. "It's a shame that your master was unable to make it here, ma'am." Syrena sadly pointed out. The girl in the trench coat scoffed and reached out for the money. "He, and as his other benefactors, have more important matters to attend to." She spat back.
At that moment, gunfire started to pour down on the two sides. Syrena gasped as she unsheathed a sword to deflect the bullets while the rest started to rain down on her benefactor. She turned and gasped to see that it was none other than Mercy Graves, the secretary to Lex Luthor! Mercy sent Alakshmi a glare as she cocked her blaster arm. "This was a setup!" she yelled, gesturing to the sniper on the roof. "Fire upon the Light!" Alakshmi ordered her troops. The ORDER operatives nodded as they revealed their E-11 blaster rifles fired upon the Shadow soldiers. The Shadows started to take out M-16 rifles and fired back, as Bane emerged from the crowd and began to charge in on them. "You'll pay for your interference!" Alakshmi yelled as she charged in at Mercy, who countered with a blast from her arm.
From a distance away, Novastar watched it all unfold. "Something bigger is at play here." She said to herself before flying off to the battle. She then looked down to another rooftop and nodded her head. "Saga, it's time!" she called out. At that moment, a male figure appeared, wearing a suit similar to Novastar's, only in a light-blue shade, along with white outlines and highlights, as well as a silver streak of hair on his head. He also had some sort of rapier at his side as he looked up to his mentor and smirked. "I'm ready, Novastar." Saga stated as they flew off into the battle.
Mount Justice 1304 hours ETC
At Mount Justice, the Team stood in the kitchen, watching as Ahsoka and Black Canary talked with each other. "I bet that Dinah's pretty upset." Serra whispered to Saw. The rest of the Team nodded in agreement as Ahsoka took a deep breath before looking to the Bird of Prey, tapping her foot on the ground with her arms crossed in front of her chest. Finally, Ahsoka started to speak. "Black Canary, I just wanted to say how truly sorry I am for how I acted earlier. I was feeling stressful, and I didn't know what came to me at the moment." She stated. Dinah's eyes widened as she placed a hand on Ahsoka's shoulder. "I know how it feels to be stressed out, Ahsoka. After all, I've been through it before and I've accidently let it out on others." Black Canary stated. Ahsoka looked up to Dinah as she smiled at the young Togrutan. "All is forgiven, Ahsoka, I understand." Black Canary finished up. Ahsoka smiled at this and held out her hand to the Bird of Prey. Dinah looked back to Ahsoka and sent back a smile of her own as she shook Ahsoka's hand with a tight grip. Both females grinned to each other before knocking their arms against each other while the Team could just smile at this sight.
Connor sighed and then turned on the television. When Connor turned it on, he suddenly gasped. M'gann looked over to him as Artemis just raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?" the archer asked curiously. Connor looked up to the girls and started to raise the volume. The Team all came over as Iris West-Allen appeared on the screen. "This is Iris West-Allen reporting to you live from Bellwood, Illinois, where there appears to be an all-out battle against both the ORDER and the Light. Several bystanders state that a sniper from one of the two sides shot at them while a business proposition was being made, and that was when both started to fight, making the streets of Bellwood unsafe for anyone." Iris informed. Robin looked to the battle and started to narrow his eyes at another party making its way towards the battle behind Syrena's group. "Wally, do you see that?" the Boy Wonder asked his speedster friend. Kid Flash nodded as he pointed to a group of ten men behind them. "Who are they?" Rocket asked. Black Canary looked to the screen and shrugged. "Whatever is going on, you need to head over to Bellwood and stop the fight before anything can get out of hand." Dinah ordered. Ahsoka looked from Black Canary to the Team. Everyone started to smile at her, indicating that she was alright to come along into battle with them. "Let's go." She said. The Team all chuckled at Ahsoka as they ran off to their bikes to get to Bellwood.
Bellwood 0732 hours UTC
Back at the battle, Syrena and Mercy started to look each other down as they stood under a nearby building. Mercy stood still as Alakshmi took out her scepter. She then spun it around and threw it into the air soon after. When the scepter finished spinning, Alakshmi now had her two swords in hand, both in a reverse grip. Mercy slowly began to lift her blaster arm as Syrena walked slowly towards her. She then lowered her swords and looked to Mercy with a sinister look on her face. Mercy just growled and kept her blaster at the ready. Syrena just scoffed and cocked her swords, activating the lightsaber crystals within them.
Meanwhile, the ORDER and the Light continued to gun each other down in the streets. One of the ORDER operatives was shot in the chest and threw over a grenade, immediately killing the soldier who shot him down. Iris and Denny both gazed in suspense as everything being seen was being recorded on camera for the audiences at home to watch. Bane then jumped over the two sides and started to smash away at the ORDER operatives one by one. "There has to be some good coming out of this!" Iris cursed to herself, in which Denny nodded in agreement.
At that moment, the rest of the Team arrived on the scene, looking at everything happening with shock and awe. Aqualad looked to the Team and nodded. "Serra, you and Saw go help the civilians get out of here!" the Atlantean ordered the two. Serra nodded as she and Saw went to help the innocent bystanders get out of the area before he turned to the rest of the Team. "Kid Flash, Robin, Superboy, detain Syrena and Mercy before they can cause any more damage!" he commanded. The three nodded affirmatively and ran off to get the two soldiers.
Just then, the ten mysterious and unknown soldier started to near the area. Kaldur looked from them to the other remaining members of the Team. "Artemis, Rocket, try to take care of those soldiers!" he instructed. Artemis took out her bow and cocked it, unfolding the weapon and equipping it with an arrow. "I'm one step ahead of you, Aqualad!" she quipped before running off with Rocket to stop the two from fighting any more. With that being done, Aqualad looked to Jaybo. "Drol, I need you to analyze a battle pattern of the area and strategize some ways to take down the three parties!" Aqualad instructed the smaller member of the Team. Jaybo nodded and started to get to work on a device that would scan the area.
Ahsoka looked to Aqualad and nodded. "Let's get to work, Aqualad." She said. M'gann looked to them and nodded as Zatanna equipped her wand and nodded. "I'm ready." She stated to the leader. Aqualad and Ahsoka both smiled and led the rest of the Team to fight off the ORDER and the Light.
Meanwhile, Mercy aimed her gun at Syrena and started to shoot. Alakshmi could only laugh at this attempt and place her blades in front of her without a flinch. She then proceeded to run towards Mercy as the shots became more multiplied and her swords move much faster. Mercy gasped at this and shot at the ground Alakshmi was running on, but she just dodged each of the blasts and continued to make her way towards the robotic secretary. Just when she got close enough, Syrena slashed at her arm, dismembering it and sending her into the wall. Mercy shrieked as she hit the wall hard, but soon got up immediately after. Alakshmi looked to her left sword and chuckled. "I see, so this is what the Light's true power is then, hmm?" she asked sadistically before cracking her neck with a cackle. "My vexation has now completely cleared away." She remarked. Mercy got up and growled. "Good for you, 'caus I'll be sure to clear away your life along with your vexation!" she quipped, using her right arm to form into a rocket launcher.
Before Mercy could shoot, Robin and Superboy tackled her while Kid Flash made an attempt to disarm Syrena of her swords. Alakshmi saw this coming and swung her swords out wide, causing the speedster to fall to the ground in pain. "Learn your place, kiddies!" she spat at them. Mercy sent a smirk, but it soon wore off as Syrena Force-Sped towards her and then impaled her chest with her golden blade. The three looked up with shock as she then turned her attention to them. "Now, with that flea out of the way, I think it's time for a little pest control!" she quipped, nearing the teens with her blades.
Meanwhile, Bane started to take on Ahsoka and Aqualad as M'gann and Zatanna both aimed to attack him from afar. The Light saw this coming and started to open fire upon them, all in which Ahsoka noticed. She threw her shoto and her secondary lightsaber to the two girls for defense as she armed herself with her arm-mounted crossbow. "M'gann, Zatanna, catch!" she yelled out. The mage and the Martian both nodded and caught the weapons, deflecting the bullets in any way they could. Aqualad looked to Ahsoka and groaned as he blocked an attack made by Bane. "We can't take them all down!" he yelled. Ahsoka was about to reply back until the ORDER started to open fire upon them. She quickly jumped into the air and twirled as she kicked Bane in the head before going back to back with Aqualad in order to fight back the ORDER operatives. "We'll need help!" she exclaimed.
All of a sudden, two figures started to fly through the air. Everyone stopped what they were doing and immediately looked up. Novastar looked down and smirked. "Do you need some help down there?" she yelled. Ahsoka looked up and raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Who are you?" she yelled back questionably. The Korean heroine looked down and smirked. "I am Novastar!" she yelled, flying down and spreading fire, causing the ORDER and the Light to run back in fear. Zatanna saw the fire and quickly made a shield to protect M'gann and Kaldur, but it quickly subsided as Saga flew down and slammed his rapier into Bane's support cables. Bane yelled in pain as Novastar then flew in to attack. Ahsoka saw this and smiled, sliding under Bane with her lightsaber activated, slashing at his legs. Bane continued to yell as Novastar then shot fire at his support tanks, causing an explosion that knocked him out unconscious.
Ahsoka looked to Novastar with awe as she examined her from top to bottom. "I've never heard of you before!" she exclaimed. Novastar scoffed and tossed her bobcut hair aside. "I guess that makes us even, then." She replied back. Saga then ran over to where Robin, Kid Flash and Superboy were and immediately clashed with Syrena, throwing her off guard and bringing her out into the open. Novastar looked to her and smirked, preparing to shoot fire at her like the rest. Syrena saw this and gasped as the fire started to engulf her. Novastar then flew over to help the civilians as Saga helped the Team up to their feet. "Quickly this way!" Julie yelled. Syrena took notice of everyone leaving and retreating and growled. "NO!" she yelled. She then ran towards Novastar and attempted to slash at her in the air with Ahsoka in pursuit. "Novastar, hang on!" she yelled.
At that moment, Alakshmi was held in thin air. The Team all looked to her and gasped as she was soon pulled to the side via Force-Grip, sliding on the ground with sparks coming out from her metal armored back. The Team, plus Novastar and Saga, all then looked to a man with silver and blue tiger-like armor at the destination for Syrena to stop at. He held two claws in his hands, both silver-glowing like lightsabers. Syrena groaned and looked to the mysterious man before she unleashed a Force Repulse, ending the attack. The tiger-like mysterious man stood back as he scoffed at the outcome of events and watched as Syrena panted tiredly from the attacks put on her before she finally passed out into unconsciousness.
Novastar looked up with Ahsoka as the man started to walk away. Ahsoka then turned her attention to Novastar and narrowed her eyes at her. "Would you want to join the Team? A lot of people have been struggling with both the ORDER and the Light, so we could really use someone like you on our side." She stated. Novastar sighed and looked back to Ahsoka sadly. "I'd like to, Ahsoka, but with everything going on in Bellwood and with all that the ORDER has caused for everyone, I need to stay here." She replied. Ahsoka sighed and then looked to the ground meekly. Saga then flew up as he nodded. "I think it's time to go." He remarked. Novastar nodded and looked to the Team, giving them a salute. "Well, I guess I'll see you soon." She bid before flying off. The Team looked to Novastar and Saga happily as they started to leave to their bikes. "She's a nice kid." Artemis said to the Team. Ahsoka nodded and sighed. "I just wish she could help us in our struggle." The Togrutan stated. The Team all nodded before they rode off. As Ahsoka rode, she couldn't get something out of her mind. Who was that guy, the one with the claws? She asked herself curiously. Shrugging it off, Ahsoka continued to ride with the Team and head back to the Cave.
A while after the Team had left; the Justice League had arrived to take Syrena in for League custody. She was weak and stuttering from the sudden Force-Grip attack as Martian Manhunter was attempting to read her mind for any trace on any sign of familiarity with her sudden attacker. "Sylas, I've failed." She muttered to herself before being lifted off by Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Jon Stewart. Before they left, they looked to a boy with the same Green Lantern uniform, looking down to the shrapnel left by the assassin. "Are you coming, Kyle?" Jon yelled out. Kyle Rayner, the new Green Lantern lifted his head and looked back to his two mentors. "Oh, yeah, I'm coming." He stated before activating his ring and taking off with the League. "By the time we're done, you'll have told us everything the ORDER knows." Batman remarked to himself as he and Black Canary made their way to the Watchtower above through a nearby Zeta Tube.
Meanwhile, Novastar, with Saga, landed near the hospital and a light started to glow. Soon, Julie came out with a boy by her side, wearing a black shirt and denim jeans, as well as black shoes. He looked to Julie and nodded before they walked off into the hospital to check up on Ben. "How do you think your fiancé's doing?" the other boy suddenly asked. Julie looked to her protégé and sighed. "That's why we're here, Conroy." She stated. The two sighed and walked into the building.
Ben looked to Julie and smiled as she walked into the room. "I see that you brought my friend with you, Julie." Ben stated, looking to the other older teenage boy. The other boy, Conroy looked down to Ben and sighed. "Dude, I feel sorry for you." He stated. Julie looked to her fiancé with sadness as she looked at him in the face. "I promise that you'll get better and be avenged, Ben." She promised. Ben smiled as he placed his hand up to her face. "I love you." He stated. Julie let out a tear as she embraced her beloved and they both kissed on the lips. It was silent for that afternoon, as a new hero had risen.
