I was running in the hallway in my mind when, for some odd reason, it became the darkness. The hall kept getting longer and longer but I wasn't getting tired at all, I didn't question it either, that I kept going on. Finally I saw a door...then another door...and another….then there were corners and turns, dead ends. I was in a maze. every time I hit a dead end and ran my way back around, each hall seemed different so I couldn't of been going in a circle, right? The maze must be eternal. I stopped, not because of tiredness or boredom, no, this was a challenge made for me. D?...mal?...This WAS in the 'supposed' darkness after all, or at least, that's MY guess. Someone's gotta be pulling the strings here, I just don't know who. "WAAAOOOH!" The hallway had ended to a black, bottomless pit, like an unfinished Lego castle. So, afraid of what's down there...Imma head back. Then, randomly, the pathway reappeared. A gust of wind seemed to push me forward, hesitantly, I stepped onto the beginning of the walkway and started forward once more. Something, for some reason, compelled me to run, so I did. Once again I found myself running with no end and I wouldn't get tired nor thirsty nor hungry, I'd just keep running on like this until there's an end, but there didn't seem to be one. Then, there appeared to be a door coming up, YES! FINALLY! Maybe It'll lead out. However, the hall ended randomly again and this time I almost fell into the pit of creepy darkness. I think this place is trying to kill me! Oddly enough, as though the whole area had read my thoughts…, the floor came back, I was already in mid-fall so I ended up face planting the ground, looking up with a red face from impact, there was the door that for some reason I had been working with all my might so hard to find in the apparent maze. Was right in front of me right now, not realizing it was a dream, it felt like heaven to finally find the door. The minute I turned the knob...Hell came…. It led to pure blackness. I reached my hand in slowly, nothing happened but I didn't know wether there was solid ground below me, there wasn't much time to act, the ground behind me that I had followed was starting to darken toward me. Similar to lights in a row turning off one by one until the hallway would be completely dark. All of a sudden I was totally plunged into darkness, my other question had been answered, There was absolutely nothing below me so I was about to fall but I managed to grab the door knob just in time as I hung there helplessly. From the inside of the doorway was a hand reaching out to me, without a moments hesitation I grabbed onto it and with full trust, I held on for dear life as it lifted me back up and pulled me through the door which lead to a room.
Wait a minute...I KNOW this place! It's...D's...room….. So then, where's bue and mal and...D?
"Right here!" Two voices scared the crap out of me, bue and mal. I turned around to face them but…,what I saw….didn't seem to really be them per say. Their eyes were glowing a menacing red that practically spelled out the word "death" and their teeth were viciously sharp, I started to back away carefully as they began to smile. D's doing this to them, I just know it! "BUE! MAL! LISTEN TO ME, D IS DOING THIS NOT YOU, CAN YOU GUYS HEAR ME?!" Bue smacked me, but only lightly just to throw me to the ground, mal walked up and kicked me in the gut, throwing my bruised body into the hard wall. When I looked back up...they weren't bue and mal anymore, they just looked like shadowy figures that just seemed like black mist with two glowing red spots close to the top. One, I couldn't tell which, snapped their fingers and the room turned into the hall of mirrors, the one place that the four of us knew all too well. Another spoke, "allow us to show you a few important things for what's to come…" that one snapped their fingers and just like that, I found myself in the center of the room, able to see each mirror as, yet another snap was heard. The mirrors changed and it showed a few 'unwanted sights'. It was displaying my previous memories...of when I was being abused by my dad.
The spiked belt.
The slaps.
The punches.
The scoldings.
The kicking.
...the shouting.
….the pain.
…..The sadness.
….the worry.
"Tch tch. Honestly! Are THESE the ONLY memories of you and your dad?!"
I regretfully and slowly nodded. "WELL?! Don't you wanna get back at 'im?! Show him who's boss?" I looked down, the scary figures were now on both sides of me as the stress builds. When I looked up again...it was the incident by the fridge, the one that sparked something in me, I vaguely remember the last few words before I guess I snapped since I woke up to be escorted in a police car with my mother to VISIT...him.
"Don't you just wanna pay him back for all he'd done to you, all the times he hurt you?" I looked down again until… "-or all he'd done to your mother? She got the worst when you weren't lookin'!" My head shot up high with those words, even though I didn't really look at either of the two I could still tell that they were grinning, They'd hit a weak spot. I had the feeling they'd keep pressing the 'right' button for a while… "wha-what do you want?" "Your happiness, that's all." They both said in sync, "You're going to be called up in the courtroom and YOUR word's final as coming from one of the VICTIMS!" "NOOO!" I jumped back to face them but behind them was...my MOM'S memories. The slaps, smacks, and cuts. To make it worse she kept repeating herself with the same phrase: "For mike...for mike...for mike...for mike...for mike." I fell to my knees and held my head in my hands, shaking, feeling absolute guilt for all he'd done, if I wasn't home...she wouldn't have to deal with this… "The minute he's free, he'll just go right back to his old habits and start beating the both of you even WORSE for trying to get rid of 'im...but...if he's found guilty then...you two are finally free from his burden and you and your mom can spend all that time repairing what was lost, your love...don't you want that?" I looked up once more, now knowing what he needs to do, for mom's sake. Then, I was sent back into the dark once again and I began to shoot down, I knew that I must've been falling fast by how loud the wind against me was, but being surrounded by pure darkness, I felt as though I was floating. The last thing I saw were those creepy glowing blood red eyes.
