I can already see that there are not many ideas to be used yet, but there's still time until the end of this month. To be honest, I didn't think that I would even make it as far as thirty chapters in this story. Okay, now that that's settled, I'll move onto questions to be answered. Falcongal asked if there would be any more reflective interactions between the Expanded Universe and Earth-16. Here's the thing: the last chapter had Anakin help Ahsoka only because of Mirror Master's mirrors peering into the Expanded Universe, so it can't happen again, sorry. To ocnarf, I honestly don't know if I can do any of your ideas, because they are confusing and not related to the story. By the way, to anyone else giving ideas to me to use for my story, if you are a Guest, please be sure to put a number or something to let me know which one of you are telling me what, because I am getting confused by all the reviewers who are named Guest. Chapter 39: Parasitica
Mount Justice June 16th 2013 hours EDT
Wally walked into the Lounge of Mount Justice as many members of the Team were waiting for him anxiously. He looked to Artemis, who sent a nod towards him. Wally nodded back as he placed a cardboard box down onto the table. As soon as he opened it up, everyone then cheered with happiness as they saw some pizza placed within it. "Dig in." The speedster said to his friends, in which everyone gladly did. The Earth Team members started to eat away at their pizzas while the Expanded Universe members just looked to their pizzas in much curiosity.
Finally, after a while, Ahsoka started to eat hers. Since this was the Expanded Universe members' first time eating pizza, they didn't know what to think. Ahsoka then looked to Serra and the others, smiling in approval, letting them know that their pizza was good to eat too. Serra shrugged and ate her pizza while Lux, Jaybo and Saw followed. M'gann swallowed her pizza before looking to Ahsoka with a smile on her face. "So, there such a thing as pizza where you come from?" she asked. Ahsoka just shook her head no and grabbed another slice. "This is the best thing I've ever tasted!" she exclaimed. The rest of the Team smiled as they continued to eat.
As soon as the Team was done eating, Ahsoka let out a sigh before looking to M'gann with a concerned look on her face. "Okay, M'gann, so what's the bad news?" she asked. M'gann blushed and was about to go for the last slice of pizza until Robin grabbed it, twirling it around in his hand. "We know that when you ask to order something delicious, then there's always some bad news around." The Boy Wonder remarked.
M'gann sighed and placed out four envelopes onto the table. "These were the results of our Final Exams." The Martian explained. Connor and Lux gasped as they reached for theirs, with the rest of the Team revealing that they had already gotten theirs. "I was trying to hide yours away, Ahsoka, but now that you've caught on, then just go take a look at it." She said sadly.
Ahsoka raised an eyebrow at all of this and reached for her envelope, labeled with her human alias, Ashley Tanner. Slowly opening it up, she started to take a look at her grades. "A+ in English Literature, A+ in Honors Algebra/Geometry/Trigonometry, A+ in Biology, A+ in History, and–" Ahsoka started out, reading all the good grades she got until she finally reached one certain subject. M'gann squirmed in Connor's arms as Ahsoka's eyes started to widen. "An 80% in Chemistry?!" she exclaimed in disbelief.
Serra and Lux also gasped with surprise as they looked to her Report Card. "There has to be some mistake." Lux stated, in which the Togrutan nodded. "You've been able to track down Kul Teska to Behpour, one of the Outer Rim's most acidic planets, so this can't be right!" Serra added on, reminding Ahsoka of when she and Anakin had to stop Kul Teska from unleashing a deadly Separatist weapon. Ahsoka nodded at this before walking away, much to M'gann's chagrin. She heard Ahsoka take some deep breaths before going back to the Team with a forced smile on her face. "Well, it can't be all that bad." The Togrutan stated, looking to everyone else, who were nodding. "I mean, who else could have gotten an 80% on one of their classes?" she asked.
Everyone looked to Ahsoka with surprise before looking back to their Report Cards. "Well, I, uh-" Dick started out before Artemis stuttered, "In my AP Bio class, I, well-" as Raquel began with "Um, there might be a-" Soon, everyone was stuttering, trying to find the right answer to Ahsoka's question. M'gann just rubbed the back of her neck while Connor started to grit his teeth. Ahsoka sighed and crossed her arms. "I'm waiting." She said impatiently.
Before anyone could answer, an alarm started to ring throughout the Cave. "Oh, thank goodness." Barbara stated before she and Beast Boy led the Team to the Mission Room. Ahsoka scoffed and placed a hand on her hip before running off after the Team. If Anakin found out that something like this happened, he would kill me! She thought to herself angrily as she entered the Mission Room. Since the League members were all out on missions, the Team had to look after themselves for the night. Still, Ahsoka was not at ease with the news of her grade. Shaking it off, she looked over to Barbara and Garfield, their two newest members.
Garfield Logan was the son of M'gann's idol, Megan Logan. He lived a happy life with her until he was caught in the crossfire of Queen Bee's forces and was given a blood transfusion from M'gann, rescuing him from harm, but when Queen Bee struck back at the Team by manipulating her into driving off a cliff, leaving him heartbroken, homeless and a foster, wanting revenge on Queen Bee for killing his mother. However, Ahsoka was able to talk some sense into him to not go down the wrong path, and after helping both Ahsoka and M'gann in foiling an illegal shipment deal made by Queen Bee, he joined the Team under the name of Beast Boy, becoming its fourteenth member.
Barbara Gordon was another story entirely. She was just a student at the Gotham Academy, and a member of the school newspaper club until she became involved with the ORDER during a visit to Wayne Manor while her father was out on patrol. After discovering Ahsoka's secret identity, as well as Artemis's and Dick's, she joined the battle against the ORDER as Batgirl, and was trained by Batman and Ahsoka, making her the fifteenth member of the Team.
Ahsoka was nonetheless happy to have some new Team members, but she couldn't shake off the feelings of her past behaviors. For a while now, she had been experiencing episodes that would stir up her emotions, and it all started when she experienced Raven and Jinx die. Even though their deaths were fake, she was heartbroken, and something happened inside of her that made the young Togrutan unleash all of her energy. What is happening to me? Ahsoka asked herself. Shaking it off, she let out a low whistle to let R7-A7 roll into the room.
The Team watched as he worked his magic on the computers. Recently, STAR Labs had modified R7 to adjust to being able to use the Earth technology, even the holographic ones. The little astromech droid was now accessing the computer to see what the emergency was.
Soon, static started to appear on the screen, and a familiar orange-skinned alien female appeared, looking to the Team with a concerned look on her face. Ahsoka's face of disappointment lessened as she looked up to Koriand'r, also known as Starfire. "Hey there, Kori, what's up?" Ahsoka asked. Starfire looked down to the Team and kept the concerned look on her face. "We have a problem." Starfire simply stated. The Team looked to each other with confusion before Aqualad stepped up and said to Koriand'r, "Explain."
"Thirteen days ago in sixteen-hundred hours, a while after you helped us with Sinestro and we helped you with Syrena, Kyle and I went on a date in Jump City." The Tamaranean started out, gaining some silent awes of delight from the girls before Starfire got back on topic. "While we were there, a mutant by the name of Killer Moth attacked, and we both made a stand." She added on. Aqualad nodded as Robin started to type away at his hologlove. "Killer Moth was once a scientist obsessed with entomology until his experiments turned on him, turning him into the mutant that he is now." The Boy Wonder explained.
Starfire nodded and went on with her story. "Kyle and I were able to defeat Moth and turn him in to Interpol, but he has claims of his own experiment, and it was done through means of the ORDER's very own Symbio Enhancer." Koriand'r finished up. Ahsoka and Serra's eyes widened at this statement before Ahsoka asked, "Where is this big, bad, beetle that Killer Moth probably cooked up?"
Koriand'r just sighed at this statement before shaking her head. "We don't know what Killer Moth has cooked up yet, but we do know that the warehouse he's in could be heavily guarded, and the two of us just aren't enough." Kori explained. The Team nodded at this as Ahsoka started to smirk. "So, we gonna team up again?" she snippily asked. Starfire smiled and nodded. "You betcha." She quipped back. Ahsoka smiled back and sent a salute. "We'll be there as soon as we can." The Togrutan stated. Kori smiled and nodded before ending the transmission.
Aqualad turned to the Team and nodded. "We have our heading." He stated. Rocket nodded and walked up to the Atlantean, patting him on the back. "You'd better not forget our date tonight." She playfully scolded. Zatanna chuckled and looked to Beast Boy and nodded. "Here we go." She said. Beast Boy smiled and started to run off to the Hangar Bay. "Come on!" he yelled to everyone. The Team all nodded and chuckled as they ran off after the Martian-blooded hero, preparing to get to Jump City.
Jump City 2052 hours PDT
The Team soon arrived at an island near Jump City and got out. Ahsoka looked to her astromech droid and nodded. "Do it, R7." She ordered. R7-A7 chirped happily and a scanner started to emit from his dome. Soon, R7 taken a scan of the area to see if there were any kinds of potential threats heading their way. After a while of waiting from the Team, Ahsoka turned back to them and nodded. "Well, Ahsoka, what has R7, found?" he asked. Ahsoka sighed and put a slight smile on her face as she turned over to Aqualad. "There's no danger so far that R7 already knows about." She reported Aqualad nodded and turned to the rest of the Team. "Let's rendezvous with Starfire and Kyle so that we can get to the bottom of this case." The Atlantean stated. Ahsoka nodded and then said, "Stealth Mode."
Soon, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Miss Martian, Artemis, Ahsoka, and Serra's clothing became completely invisible, now in Stealth Mode. Aqualad was about to manipulate some water into a bridge for the Team to cross on until a green, energized bridge did the job for him. Ahsoka smiled at this as she looked up into the sky. "It's about time you two lovebirds got here!" she yelled.
The rest of the Team smiled as well as Green Lantern and Starfire floated onto the ground. Kyle looked to them and nodded. "It's a good thing you guys showed up when you did." He exclaimed. Zatanna walked towards him and bumped her fist against his. "It's the least we could do for your part in helping us to save the Justice League from Syrena." She replied. Starfire chuckled and patted M'gann on the back before making her way to Ahsoka. "I understand that you, Lux, Serra, Jaybo and Saw are new here, so I think that Kyle and I could lead you to the base of operations." Koriand'r reasoned. Ahsoka chuckled and patted Starfire back on the shoulder. "Yeah, I think that that would be a good idea." She replied back.
Starfire and Kyle soon led the Team right where Killer Moth was experimenting. The sight of the crackling lit-up warehouse started to give some of the members of the Team the chills. "What exactly is in there anyways?" Garfield asked as he started to cling onto M'gann. Kori sighed and shrugged. "Killer Moth was never one to give away answers, but when Kyle and I interrogated him, he gave us this info." She explained, taking out a recorder and playing it.
"You will never get anything out of me!" Killer Moth's voice came in, surprising the Team a lot. "Rumor has it that you have an experiment going on in Jump City. Tell us, and we just might let, oh, say, five to ten years off of you sentence." Starfire said soon after in her best interrogation voice. Ahsoka and M'gann both smirked at Koriand'r, knowing how aggressive she can get whenever she's pissed. The Team then heard some mumbling from Killer Moth before he sighed and replied, "Well, if you put it that way, then I can at least give you one hint."
The Team then heard a banging noise before Kyle's voice came into the recorder. "Would you just frigging tell us already?!" he asked annoyed. The boys started to grin at this, but also tried to hide it from the girls so that they wouldn't think that males were always like that. Killer Moth growled and then, the sound of sinister chuckling started to come out of the device. "I have manifested an amalgam of a quintessence only you humans fear the most!" he proclaimed. The Team gasped at this, and also started to cringe in fear at what the creation could be. "What would that be?!" Koriand'r asked back. More chuckling came through before the recorder finally went silent.
The Team was all in shock at this as they started to look to one another in nervousness. Kyle looked to Starfire and sighed before the latter turned back to the Team. "Well, anyone got any ideas as to what Killer Moth might be up to?" Kyle asked, in which Kori nodded. "As in, what do all people fear?"
Some of the members of the Team started to step up. "Well, dentists?" Zatanna asked in a nervous, high-pitched voice. "Paying rent?" Artemis asked soon after. "Circuses?" Robin asked. "The dichotomy of good and evil?" Wally guessed. Artemis, Zatanna, Robin and Ahsoka immediately stared at the speedster in disbelief and confusion, wondering what would make him say something like that. Starfire and Kyle also looked in confusion before they got back on topic. "The fact is, that whatever Killer Moth created, it's going to be dangerous." Kyle clarified for the Team. Aqualad nodded and looked to the Green Lantern. "Lead us inside." He calmly ordered. Kyle nodded and they soon walked quietly into the warehouse.
Once inside of the warehouse, the Team all gasped at what was inside of it. Corpses of ORDER troopers and torn leather lay all over the place. "Looks like someone beat us to this." Connor mused. The Team ignored this as they looked around at the dead soldiers along with the broken bases. "It looks like that big, bad experiment got away from them." Aqualad deducted. Wally nodded as he and Jaybo looked to a bulletin board, covered in pictures of bees, hornets and wasps. "It seems they were doing experiments on arthropods." Drol stated, raising an eyebrow before saying, "Weird."
Starfire began to go with the girls while Kyle led the males in different squads for the mission. Batgirl opened up a cabinet and smiled. "Hey, this equipment's still good." She yelled out to the others. Wally smiled and looked to the lower shelf. "Ooh, nice centrifuge." He mused, investigating all of the equipment with Batgirl. Beast Boy looked over to Connor and sighed. "If I ever get that excited about a centrifuge, just do me a favor and put me out of my misery." He remarked. Connor nodded and made a smirk at this statement.
As the girls were looking around, Ahsoka suddenly stopped what she was doing and looked around, hearing something strange. M'gann, Zatanna and Serra stopped as well, sensing the odd sensation and looked around. Ahsoka looked up to the air and lifted an eyebrow in confusion at what she was seeing. Curious, she turned to Batgirl, Kid Flash and Drol. "Hey, guys, how big do you think one of those arthropods might be?" she asked, reaching for her lightsaber hilt. The three Intel members of the group looked to each other before Barbara said, "Well, a bee would be about four millimeters long and a wasp would be, I don't know, six?"
"Then what the hell is that?!" Ahsoka yelled, pointing up to the ceiling and getting everyone's attention. They all gasped as a large wasp started to emerge from the ceiling and fly towards them. Everyone gasped with horror as they tried to avoid its flight path. Artemis could do nothing but remain frozen and chatter her teeth. "A giant bee?!" she yelled out loud in shock. "I can't believe this is happening! This is my worst nightmare, come true!" the archer added on.
The Team seemed to share the same feeling as the giant wasp started to fly back towards them. Kyle and Starfire helped to get everyone out of the way, but in the process, Starfire was pinned to the ground while pushing away a petrified Artemis. The rest of the Team gasped as Starfire started to wrestle with the mutated wasp, now showing that she was on the same level as Superboy. "Get the Glork off of me, bitch!" she yelled, blasting at the ground with her starbolts to float into the air and send a strong punch towards it before Batgirl extended a bladed batarang to swat it aside. The wasp was enraged bu this and attempted to strike back at the female Dark Knight. Beast Boy then jumped in the way and morphed into a pedigree falcon, clashing with the wasp many times before Saw ran in with his vibroblade as he jumped into the air for attack.
Wally and M'gann both went into attack as backup, but what they didn't expect was Saw to land hard on the wasp's back, landing on the ground soon after. Kid Flash looked in confusion was M'gann pushed him out of the way, just in time to avoid a jab from the wasp's stinger. Serra Force-Pushed the was away as both she and Aqualad performed twin slashes at it. The wasp was taken aback, and now saw that the Team was gone. It started to crawl up the wall as the Team hid behind a large desk. "We need a plan, and fast!" Kaldur exclaimed. Rocket crawled over and smiled. "I could use a shield on that vermin and Zatanna could do some sort of Banishment Spell to throw it to Hell!" she suggested. The wasp soon started to crash into multiple items, getting closer. "That thing is too strong for a plan like that!" Saw exclaimed. Ahsoka sighed and looked to the Atlantean leader. "I'll Force-Tame it, but we'll need someone to distract it." The Togrutan reasoned.
Artemis gulped and stood up, taking a deep breath. "I'll do it." She said deadpan. The rest of the Team, Kid Flash and Ahsoka especially, looked to the archer with confusion before she jumped into the open, still trembling in fear. "Hey, wasp!" she yelled. The wasp, now on the ceiling again, looked down as Artemis readied an arrow. "Come and get it!" she taunted in a dangerous tone. The wasp screeched before eventually flying down after the archer. Artemis smirked and threw her bow onto the ground, skateboarding on it in order to get away from the mutated insect as it crashed into a window. The creature snarled as it started to crawl on top of the ceiling. Artemis, still scared of the wasp, tried to run, but not long after she ran, she came face-to-face with the insect again!
The Team, save for Kyle, who was looking after an injured and unconscious Starfire, looked at everything that was happening. Aqualad looked to Ahsoka and the rest of the Team and nodded. "On my mark…" Kaldur'ahm started out before Artemis stopped running. "Now!" Ahsoka yelled, getting the rest of the Team to jump onto the wasp in an attempt to squash it. Artemis, in an act of desperation, shot a grappling arrow at the wasp, causing the Team to all fall to the ground and Artemis catching the giant bee. "Ha! I did it!" Artemis exclaimed. The wasp tried to get up, but Ahsoka was using the Force to calm it down. Robin then looked to Kyle and nodded. "Do what you need to do." He ordered.
Kyle smiled at this and soon prepared to place the mutated creature into his energized shield, but it started to awaken, and the minute it had gotten up, Kyle was knocked into the light bulb, getting electrocuted before passing out while Ahsoka was knocked back, but got back onto her feet soon after. The Team gasped at this as the wasp then slammed Zatanna and M'gann into a wall. Aqualad jumped onto the ground, Water-Bearers at the ready as Ahsoka was thrown to the wall soon after. Robin ran over to help Zatanna get to safety as Aqualad checked to see if anyone else on the Team was hurt. All of a sudden, it happened.
The wasp dashed at Aqualad stinger-first, its buzzing noise catching Kaldur's attention. Before he could move, he let out a loud yell of pain before the Team prepared to attack again for injuring their leader. Ahsoka and Artemis were just about to shoot the creature until it started to stop, then crash to the ground. Ahsoka smirked and placed a hand on her hip. "Well, seems like I tired it out." She bragged. Robin rubbed the back of his neck as he started to gesture to the dead insect. "Actually, you didn't tire it out. Arthropods die whenever they lose their stingers." The Boy Wonder explained.
Just then, the Team heard some weak groaning. They all turned to see Aqualad coming towards them. "Yes, the stinger got in me!" he exclaimed, revealing the stinger stuck in Aqualad's left shoulder. Raquel's eyes widened as she covered her mouth and leaned against Zatanna. "Let me see that." Drol said as he walked over. Jaybo's eyes widened when he saw the stinger and he soon pulled it out. "Ow!" Kaldur exclaimed in much pain. Raquel gasped as she ran over to him. "Are you okay?" she frantically asked Kaldur as he felt his arm. "Pretty sore, but I-I think I'll be…" Aqualad started out, but before he could go on, something happened inside of him, as he started to tilt his head from left to right and twitch his body and eyes. No one noticed this as Rocket was inspecting the stinger with Drol. After seeing enough, she turned back to Aqualad, who snapped back to reality and finishing up his sentence with, "Fine."
Batgirl walked over to examine the needle. "Mutations are usually anthropomorphic." The female protégé of Batman stated. Wally looked to Artemis to see if she was alright as Robin walked up next to Barbara. "I've never seen the Symbio Enhancer create giants like this before." The Boy Wonder added on to the statement. Connor scoffed and crossed his arms in boredom. "Yeah, real fascinating, Dick." He remarked. M'gann and Zatanna were about to stop the two from fighting until they all heard Kaldur say, "Whoa, look at this!"
Everyone turned to the Atlantean and saw that he had uncovered piece of cloth, revealing a yellow, frozen-liquid orb. "It's some kind of egg!" Zatanna exclaimed. Ahsoka sheathed her lightsaber and placed her hand out to the egg. "I'll handle this." She stated. Before she could get the chance to Force-Crush the egg, Aqualad violently grabbed her arm. "Wait!" he yelled. The Team members looked to each other in surprise as M'gann checked on Kyle and Starfire, still unconscious from the battle. "We're not hurting it." Kaldur explained, much to everyone's confusion. "We came here to find out what the ORDER is up to, and this egg is our only clue." He explained further on before putting his full attention on the egg. "We should take it back to the Cave and let Jaybo analyze it."
"Why can't we just take it to STAR Labs?" Kid Flash asked in confusion. Aqualad sighed and turned his eyeballs to the yellow speedster. "The scientists there would bring damage to it, where as Drol can analyze it carefully without any harm." Kaldur'ahm explained. Robin and Artemis looked to each other before Serra stepped up with a hand on her hip in annoyance. "Great idea! Let's take the mutant wasp egg in our home where we live! What's the worst that could happen?" she mused sarcastically. Ahsoka nodded and expected the Apprentice of Aquaman to scold Serra for the quip and the statement against the command, but Kaldur just kept staring at the egg. "It's too dangerous to be leaving this around." He reasoned with the Shan. He then looked to everyone with a smile of reassurance. "It'll be safe, I'll just keep an eye on it." He added on.
Kid Flash, agreeing with the logic, shrugged and prepared to pick the egg up from the ground. "I'll get it." He said, but before he could get the chance to touch it, Aqualad snarled and lunged up towards him. "HANDS OFF!" he yelled, causing Wally to recoil in nervousness and scream in shock. Everyone gaped at what just happened as Connor stepped up. "Hey, Kaldur, are you alright? Unmotivated bursts of anger are usually my thing." The Boy of Steel asked. Kaldur panted as he looked to every member of the Team. "It's just that the egg could be fragile. Wallace cannot be trusted with it." Aqualad reasoned, picking up the egg in his arms, cradling it carefully. "I shall carry it myself." He stated, walking out of the room and back to the Bioship. Wally scoffed and crossed his arms. "Hello, I carried a beating heart on my birthday!" he exclaimed. Ahsoka patted him on the back and chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm sure he'll come around." The Togrutan reasoned. The rest of the Team followed, still confused as to what was going on.
Mount Justice 2201 hours EDT
For the entire ride back to Mount Justice, Kaldur had his full attention on the egg. He didn't let anyone touch the egg, examine it, or do anything to it. The stress of it all slightly wore off when they got back, with Raquel complaining. "Kaldur, I got a really bad feeling about keeping that thing here in the Cave." She nervously stated, shivering from the sight of it. Aqualad just turned around to Raquel and smiled. "Raquel, think about how much we could learn from it." He exaggerated, still holding the egg as if it were a baby. Raquel rolled her eyes as she removed her gloves while the rest of the Team soon came out.
"You know what's inside wasp eggs, right?" Rocket asked. Ahsoka came right behind Raquel, now fuming with anger as she flipped the bird, yelling out to him, "I'll give you a hint: WASPS!" Ahsoka lifted up an eyebrow in confusion as to what Rocket just said. "How is that all supposed to be a guess when you gave it away?" she asked as M'gann, now in her civilian clothing, floated out, levitating the injured Starfire and Kyle Rayner with her. Aqualad continued to smile as Ahsoka walked with him. Rocket drooped and glanced over to Zatanna for some sort of answer. The mage just shrugged and walked with Robin and Batgirl, leaving the sidekick of Icon to follow after them.
In the Cave's main Laboratory, the Team all looked at the egg with much confusion. There's nothing so special about it. Raquel thought to herself. Ahsoka sighed and placed a hand on her hip while looking to her new watch to see what time it was. "Can we go now?" she asked in an exhausted tone. "I'm going to miss Inuyasha and Sword Art." She complained. Kaldur just looked to her and shook her head as a tittering noise started to come from the egg. "Fascinating!" Barbara exclaimed as she leaned in closer to the egg with a scalpel knife. Kaldur looked over and gasped as he pulled Batgirl away. "Stop! What are you doing?!" he demanded in much surprise.
Barbara was also in shock at this. "I'm going to dissect it for further research." She explained. Kaldur scowled and shook his head, pushing Barbara away from the egg. "Absolutely not! This is the only egg we have!" he exclaimed, much to everyone's surprise. "We need to learn how it develops." The Atlantean added on. Batgirl was so taken aback by this that she was currently in shock. "Well, I guess I'll just keep staring at it." She guessed. Kaldur'ahm nodded and extended a finger. "Good idea." He started out before redirecting his finger to the door. "From over there." He dangerously concluded.
Barbara nervously chuckled and took a wide step from Kaldur to a place where she could see the egg clearly. Batgirl sent a nervous smile to Kaldur, wondering if she was far enough. However, Kaldur just sent her a glare, causing her to step back with the rest of the Team. Ahsoka crossed her arms and looked to M'gann, tapping her finger against her head. M'gann nodded and the whole Team walked out with Aqualad still eyeing the egg lovingly.
"Okay, Kaldur's acting totally weird, right?" Ahsoka asked to the others, now all in the Lounge. Raquel's fist tightened and nodded, raising it up. "Yeah! It's like he's obsessed with that stupid egg!" she remarked. "Let's just contact the League and ask them what to do." Beast Boy suggested. Robin nodded and pressed his hologlove. "Strange, I can't get a signal, and the Cave has full power." The Boy Wonder stated in confusion, lifting an eyebrow. "Okay, look, we gotta destroy that egg before it hatches." Connor stated, pounding his fist into his palm for emphasis.
In the mail Laboratory, Aqualad could hear everything the Team was saying through the air vents as he continued to watch over the egg. "Agreed, but he won't let us get anywhere near it." Serra remarked. "Then we just need to find a way to make him come to us." Ahsoka stated snippily. At that moment, Aqualad's eyes started to narrow and twitch as his neck craned from side to side. Kaldur tried to shake the feeling off, but he started to sound disoriented, clutching his head in pain and yelling as he started to change.
Later, the Team all started to meet outside of the Cave Laboratory, just close enough within Kaldur's earshot. "Okay, time to start deciding on choosing a new leader!" Artemis yelled out, trying to get Kaldur's attention. "I think I would nominate Robin!" Saw called out soon after. Everyone, using this tactic, all stopped to see if Kaldur'ahm would notice, but his attention was kept strictly on the egg. "Well, he seems deaf." Dick quipped as he crossed his arms. Rocket just looked to her Atlantean boyfriend and clenched her fist, starting to envy the way he was putting his full attention on some stupid egg.
A while after that, the Team tried something else. "Hey, Kaldur, we're calling Tula! Should we tell her that you have no feelings for her anymore?" Serra yelled out. Raquel gasped at this revelation and lowly growled. Still, Kaldur did nothing but stare at the egg. This was the last straw for the Team. "Wow, he's really far gone." Wally mused as the Team started to walk back to the Mission Room.
As the clock struck ten o'clock, the Team was now thinking of another way to get Aqualad away from the egg. "The communication systems are offline for some reason, and now, we all have to stay here because the Zeta Tube system has gone to pot." Jaybo stated, looking at the Holocomputer with R7. Raquel had finally had it as she stomped her foot and walked towards Rebel. Lux gasped as she suddenly took the Darksaber from his belt. "Okay, that's it!" she exclaimed. "I'm destroying the egg tonight, myself!" she yelled. Serra and Saw looked to each other and nodded. "That egg's been annoying us as well, so we'll come along with you." Serra said. Lux sighed and shook his head. "Leave me out of this." He stated, placing his arms in the air and walking away with Ahsoka. The rest of the Team followed as Artemis and Zatanna both watched as Raquel led Serra and Saw into the Hangar Bay.
As Raquel, Serra and Saw walked their way to the Lab, where the egg was placed, they started to hear some footsteps approaching. The three turned around and prepared to fight whoever came towards them, but they stopped when they saw Artemis and Zatanna walk up to them. "If you're here to stop us, then too bad." Rocket quipped. Artemis just shook her head in disagreement as Zatanna unsheathed her wand. "We're not here to stop you, we're here to join you, because we all hate that damn egg." Zatanna stated. Raquel smirked and placed the Darksaber hilt on her shoulder. "Alright, then, come on." She said. The large group then continued to make their way to the laboratory, all now intent on destroying the egg.
Raquel led her group right into the Hangar Bay. "Now, let's get rid of that egg so that Kaldur can go back to normal." Serra stated as she unsheathed her lightsaber hilt. The rest of the group nodded as they started to walk over to the egg, perched on top of a pillow as if it were a recently-born baby. Raquel activated the Darksaber while Serra activated one of her lightsabers and the two walked towards the egg. Artemis and Saw aimed their firearms while Zatanna aimed her wand, and at the sound of the creak of the door, Rocket lunged her sword into the egg, but all of a sudden…
ZIIING!
The Team all gasped as they saw a blue, water blade block the Darksaber's black blade. Kaldur stood on his knees, blocking Rocket from destroying the egg! Raquel narrowed her eyes at the Atlantean and scowled. "Kaldur, what are you doing?!" she demanded. Slowly, Aqualad started to lift his head up, his eyes now pure black! Everyone gasped as Rocket was thrown into the air by the Atlantean, now under some sort of trance. "If that thing hatches, it might try to eat us!" Artemis yelled, but Aqualad kept his Water-Bearer at the ready, his eyes still black as he opened his mouth. The girls all recoiled with disgust as they saw that his mouth was filled with slimes, and that he was now snarling. "Alright, this freak show ends now!" Saw yelled to everyone, charging at the Atlantean leader.
Serra was the first to clash with the Atlantean, using a Shien strike at Aqualad's abdomen, but he blocked the blade and knocked the Shan away. Saw and Rocket then attempted to strike at the Atlantean from both sides, but he just twirled around and slashed at both of them. "Come on, Kaldur! Snap out of it!" Zatanna yelled as she twirled her wand around in the air. "Dne siht won!" she cast, blasting a spell at Kaldur in order to bring him back, but he just charged through and snarled, clashing with the swordsmen.
Serra gasped and threw her secondary lightsaber to Artemis, who threw her crossbow in response. Artemis activated the green blade and charged in at the Team leader, jumping into the air first and then landing back on the ground with a slash. Kaldur rolled over and dodged this attack, but failed to see Rocket making her way to the egg airborne. Aqualad snarled and jumped up, tackling her to the ground and clashing with her black blade, the couple now in a battle. Aqualad swung his blade like crazy, making it easy for the Team to dodge his attacks. Rocket flew backwards and stood in a battle stance as Aqualad jumped into the air, trying to land a slash on her until she created a shield. After doing that, she punched Aqualad in the face with the hilt of the Darksaber, knocking his Water-Bearer into the ceiling. She and Serra then landed a twin sweep-kick at the Atlantean, knocking him to the ground.
Aqualad panted as he regained his strength. "You're not yourself, Aqualad! Let me help!" Rocket yelled. Kaldur continued to pant, and soon he turned around, revealing a snarling look on his face and his black eyes wide. Rocket and Artemis both screamed in terror as Kaldur proceeded to pounce on every one of the five Team members. One by one, they all fell down until Raquel was the last one standing. She dodged every one of his lunges at her, but eventually was caught in a barehanded lock with the Atlantean apprentice. Rocket struggled to keep him off, but he was too strong for her. Raquel swept her foot under Kaldur's, tripping him to the ground and trying to find enough time to try to get help. Before she could reach the exit, Aqualad grabbed her leg, causing her to fall to the ground and yell even more. She kicked him away, losing her sneaker in the process, but she continued to fight. Kaldur panted and growled at Rocket, throwing himself into her and knocking her to the ground again, this time near the others and being able to throw her off.
The five Team members then started to feel weak as they looked to different limbs of their bodies. On Artemis's, Serra's, and Raquel's legs were teeth marks, as well as on Saw's hand and Zatanna's foot. "Did you just bite me?!" Rocket yelled angrily, but weakly. Aqualad started to smirk in success as she started to feel weak. "You bit us!" Rocket yelled, the Atlantean's grin only growing wider.
It was now midnight at the Cave as the rest of the Team all rested. M'gann yawned as she got up and looked to Garfield, still sleeping. She smiled happily before quietly walking out the door and into the kitchen to get a drink. The rest of the Team was sleeping there as well, all now awake. Ahsoka yawned, coming down one of the hallways and looking around. "Have any of you seen Rocket, Serra, Saw, Artemis and Zatanna?" she asked curiously. Lux looked around and nodded. "Yeah, I need to ask Raquel to give me back the Darksaber." The Onderonian Senator added on. Connor came out of his room and yawned, looking around. "Okay, so Kyle and Kori are in the infirmary, and the rest of the Team said that they were going after the egg." The Boy of Steel reported. "It's been a while since we've seen them." M'gann mused as she got a cup of coffee. The Team all looked to one another before nodding and walking over to the lab.
Inside of the lab, as far as the Team could see, Rocket, Zatanna, Artemis, Saw and Serra were standing on both sides of Aqualad in front of the egg. All six of them were silent as Ahsoka nervously walked into the room. "Uh, hey, guys." She said nervously. "What's up?" she asked. The six only replied by unsheathing their weapons. "Is something wrong?" M'gann then asked. What came next surprised them all. Saw, Artemis and Zatanna turned around, aiming their wands, blasters and bows at the Team. "Get down!" Robin yelled. Everyone scattered as they were soon being fired upon. After the five teens ceased fire, the rest of the Team got up, only to be attacked by Serra and Aqualad. "Run!" Wally yelled. The Team all nodded as they all ran out of the lab and into the hallways. "Setting up Psychic Link now!" M'gann yelled telepathically, in which everyone started to go everywhere throughout the Cave.
Robin, Jaybo and Wally barricaded themselves within the Souvenir Room. "Are we safe?" the Boy Wonder asked the speedster. Before Kid Flash could respond, a white light lit up the room, and Artemis and Zatanna walked towards the three, black-eyed and slowly advancing. "Ask that yourself." The entranced Zatanna quipped. Robin attempted to use an explosive birdarang to get the items out of the way, but Zatanna cast a spell at Dick, causing his belt to bind him while Artemis pinned her boyfriend to the wall. Jaybo attempted to shoot with his pistol, but Zatanna just extended her arm and cast, "Teah taht s'nopaew letam!" With that, the weapon fell out of Jaybo's hands, and he was sent to the ground next to Dick and Wally. All three watched in horror as the two girls ran towards them.
Lux and Connor ran into Lux's room, arming themselves with any weapon necessary. Before they could go out prepared, Saw and Aqualad both leapt down onto them, pinning the two to the ground.
As M'gann hid in a corner of her room, she placed a hand to her forehead. "Does anyone copy?" she asked nervously. Ahsoka's voice soon came in. "I'm here, M'gann, what's your status?" the Togrutan replied back via Mind Link. Before the Martian could respond, a green lightsaber lit up behind her, and Serra came out, tackling the Martian.
Ahsoka, in the Lounge, gasped when she no longer heard M'gann's voice. "M'gann?! M'gann, come in!" she exclaimed, but was soon grabbed by a hand. Ahsoka gasped once again as she was pulled into the infirmary.
Ahsoka was now fearing the worst as she armed herself with her two lightsabers and her arm-mounted crossbow. "You'll never take me alive!" she yelled out, aiming her lightsabers to her left and right, eyes still closed. "Calm, down, Ahsoka, you're safe." Starfire's voice then said. Ahsoka opened up her eyes and looked around. Starfire and Kyle had both recovered! She shook her head to get all the stress out of her system. "Okay, this reminds me too much of a dream I had once, after having too much blue milk." Ahsoka remarked as she then saw Barbara looking after Garfield. She took a deep breath before speaking to her friends. "Okay, something's wrong with the rest of the Team." She stated.
Starfire nodded and looked to Barbara. "Try to find something on the threat we're facing." Kori ordered. Batgirl nodded and started to type away at her hologlove. "Okay, here it is." Barbara said after a while, getting the rest of the Team to come over. Ahsoka started to read away at it, "The Parasitic Wasp infects animals with some brain virus which controls them to protect its eggs.".
"Do you think that that's the same wasp that infected the others?" she asked. "It's a mutant version." Kyle replied. "It must've stung Aqualad and he passed it onto the others when he bit the other members of your Team." Beast Boy added on. Ahsoka gulped at this, as she remembered the Parasitic Worms from Geonosis that took control of everyone on her ship, including her ex-friend, Barriss. Shaking off the memory, she turned to Barbara and asked, "So, once the egg hatches, everyone will go back to normal and everything will be alright, right?"
"Not exactly." Barbara replied, shaking her head as she pulled up footage of the Parasitic Wasp. "Look what happens if someone guards the egg." She explained. Both Ahsoka and Koriand'r looked in confusion as a large caterpillar, guarding the egg shown on the screen, started to be devoured whole. "The wasp will eat them?!" Ahsoka yelled in disbelief. Starfire was also taken aback by this as Kyle placed a hand to his chin. "I think that I could try to create an antidote, but we'd need a sample of the virus from the egg." The Green Lantern said. Batgirl nodded as she pulled up her mask. "Okay, so let's go." She said. Beast Boy smirked and started to head out the door, only to be stopped by Ahsoka. She chuckled as she held young Garfield back. "I'll lead from here." She stated. Starfire and Kyle both nodded, in which Beast Boy shrugged in agreement.
As soon as Ahsoka led her Team into the Lounge, they all started to hear some rattling. "They're here!" Starfire exclaimed in a scared singsong voice. Ahsoka and Kyle both prepared their firearms as they saw the egg, now perched on the table in the middle of the room. Everything was silent for a moment, then, all of a sudden, the Team all leapt out of their hiding places, attacking Ahsoka, Starfire and Kyle separately. Ahsoka Force-Pushed away Connor as Rocket soon came trampling on her. "We have to get to the egg! It could be the only cure to save the Team!" she exclaimed as Aqualad soon started to snarl and lunge at her.
Kyle sparred with Dick as he started to use tactics the Team had never seen him use. The demented Boy Wonder snarled and jumped into the air, preparing a dropkick on the Green Lantern. Kyle looked to the side and nodded. "Reinforcements, now!" he yelled. At that moment, before Robin could land a hit on Kyle, Barbara dashed right into him. The interference resulted in a crash against the small waterfall. Kyle flew over to Barbara to see if she was alright, but much to his surprise, she had a bite on her shoulder! Batgirl then got up and started to help up Robin, and together, they started to charge at the Green Lantern. Before they could reach him, Kyle placed up a green shield, preventing them from escaping.
Koriand'r started to battle against M'gann, but seeing what just happened to Batgirl, she was in shock, giving Miss Martian the opportunity to strike at the Tamaranean. "No!" Beast Boy yelled out, coming out from his hiding place and morphing into a brachiosaurus, knocking his Martian-Blooded sister unconscious, but getting bitten as well. He almost fell into unconscious, but before he could do so, he morphed into a spider and webbed M'gann to the wall.
Ahsoka started to run away from Rocket, who was flying and sending blasts towards her. As the young Togrutan Ex-Jedi was knocked to the ground, Raquel started to pounce on her. However, Ahsoka sent a blast of Force Lightning, and Rocket was soon sent through a wall. Ahsoka gasped at this as she turned to see Kyle and Starfire fighting off against the rest of the Team.
Starfire and Green Lantern were now surrounded. Aqualad raised up a Water-Bearer and gave an order to attack, but just then, they were all suddenly electrocuted. Both Kyle and Kori looked to the side to see Ahsoka unleashing some Force Lightning to send them all out of the room. Kyle and Kori soon went for the doors to prevent the Team from getting in again, but something then hit Ahsoka.
"Raquel!?" she yelled out, wondering what had happened to Rocket. She was nowhere to be seen. "Where'd she go?" Kori asked. Kyle looked to the table in the middle of the room and his eyes started to widen. "Holy Crap!" he exclaimed. The egg was now gone! "He took the egg!" Ahsoka yelled, causing Starfire to gasp. They all started to look around, trying to see if Rocket would come out. "For now, we'll barricade ourselves in the lab." Green Lantern stated. Ahsoka then looked to the wall and asked, "What about M'gann?"
Soon, everyone was carrying M'gann through the hallway, all grunting as she was still bound by Beast Boy's web. "She's a lot heavier than she looks!" Ahsoka remarked. Kyle grunted and nodded as they soon dragged the growling Martian into the lab.
Later on, Ahsoka and Kyle started to levitate multiple objects in front of the door, and when that was done, Starfire joined them in melding the door so that no one could get in. Before they could finish, they started to hear M'gann groan. "Ahsoka, Koriand'r?" she asked. All three of the teens looked around to see Miss Martian lift her head and turn to them as if she had just been freed from a trance, as her eyes were now reverted back from black to her normal red color. "What happened?"
"You went crazy after Aqualad bit Raquel, Artemis, Zatanna, Serra and Saw, who then bit you, who attempted to bite us, who then bit Garfield and Batgirl, who then ran off with the egg!" the Togrutan Jedi exclaimed. M'gann sighed in relief as she took the time to catch her breath. "Thank goodness." She said to herself before turning to the others. "Don't worry, I'm better now." She reassured the three. Starfire and Kyle looked in suspicion as M'gann continued to speak to Ahsoka. "You can untie me, Ahsoka. Untie me, so that we can go find the Team, together." She strangely emphasized. Ahsoka was about to activate her lightsaber hilt to get M'gann free until a voice came into her head. "Ahsoka, no! Don't to it!" M'gann's voice yelled out, causing the young Togrutan to gasp. "It's trick! Look at my eyes!" Megan went on telepathically. Ahsoka stopped and looked to M'gann.
The young Martian female was now struggling to get free, snarling once again before leaping up and charging at the three. Ahsoka pushed Starfire and Green Lantern out of the way before getting herself out of the way too. M'gann then turned back to them, her eyes black once again. "IT IS USELESS TO RESIST! IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE EGG BURSTS AND THE HATCHLINGS WILL FEED ON US ALL!" M'gann yelled out in a demonic voice before charging at the small group once again, only for Kori to blast her in the back with a starbolt and Kyle to lunge an IV needle into her bite mark.
Kyle and Koriand'r looked down to Starfire with regret and success. "Sorry to burst your possessed bubble, Megan." Starfire started out before turning to Kyle to finish. "We might not have a sample of the egg, but a sample of your blood should be able to help us create a cure." He quipped. Ahsoka walked around them in curiosity, and then all of a sudden, her eyes widened in shock and she started to gasp. "Guys! You've been bitten! YOU'VE BEEN BITTEN!" Ahsoka exclaimed in shock. Kyle and Kori gasped and looked to each others' necks. There were bite marks! "We must have been bitten during the fight!" Kyle started out anxiously. "And now… we're infected too." Starfire finished up, much to Ahsoka's terror.
Green Lantern and Starfire started to get to work on the antidote, but with the bites they received, they were under a lot of stress. Starfire started to pour some liquids into a vial while Kyle started panting. "We're not going to make it!" Kyle Rayner started to stress. "We're not going to make it!" Koriand'r added on. Ahsoka slammed her fist onto the table, not being worried about her being the last one standing. "Calm the hell down, guys, you're almost done!" she yelled.
Kyle panted and looked to Ahsoka. "Ahsoka Tano, you're going to have to help us." He exclaimed. Starfire nodded and went on. "If we turn, you're going to have to knock us both out so that you can finish the antibody yourself!" she stressed. Ahsoka gasped and looked down to the ground in sorrow. "Chemistry really isn't my thing. I don't know if I can–" Ahsoka started out, but Kyle grabbed her by the shoulders. "Just promise us! You're the only one who can do it! It's all up to you!" the young Green Lantern yelled out.
Ahsoka gasped at this and nodded. "Okay, okay, so what do I do?" she asked. Starfire panted and grabbed Ahsoka, redirecting her to the lab equipment. "First, the hybridoma culture has to incubate for ten minutes." The Tamaranean started out before Kyle turned her attention to a centrifuge. "Then, it has to spin in the centrifuge for another five." Kyle started out, but the two then began to grip their heads in pain. "Ah! There's not enough time!" the Green Lantern yelled out before Starfire started to get onto her knees. "Oh, we're not feeling so well." Koriand'r said in a dizzy voice. Ahsoka gulped and reached for her arm-mounted crossbow. She slowly walked up to the two and raised her weapon into the air, preparing to knock them out.
Then, Ahsoka swung her hand down. Her weapon almost reached Kyle's and Kori's heads, but the influence of the wasp had already reached them! They both grabbed the crossbow and pulled it towards them, aiming their teeth at Ahsoka. In one fell swoop, they bit her immediately! Ahsoka yelled in horror and punched the two before shocking them into unconsciousness. She then looked to her arm and panted. "Oh no! I'm doomed! What am I going to do?!" she stressed. She then looked around at the lab equipment and panted even more and even faster. "Gotta remember what Kyle and Kori said! Gotta remember!" she then started to get onto her knees as she placed her hand to her forehead. "Oh, I feel kind of…" Ahsoka started out, but before she could finish, she fell into unconsciousness.
It was bow four o'clock in the morning. The battle had been lost, and the possessed Team started to make their way to the Hangar Bay. Rocket looked out through the window of the Martian Bioship as she held the egg, seeing the rest of the Team come. "What about Ahsoka Tano?" Raquel asked. A possessed Kyle walked up and nodded. "She is no longer a threat to the egg." He reported. Raquel smirked and flew out of the Bioship, landing in the middle of the room as Sphere and R7 hid in nervousness with the Tactical Droid. The whole Team started to stand around the egg, but before they could perform their ritual, Ahsoka walked into the room. "Ahsoka, you have come to join us." Aqualad stated. Ahsoka nodded and smirked. "Yes. I finally see what the Force can offer us with this awesome egg." She said in a possessed voice.
The Team all smirked at this, but the sound of some tittering from the egg caught their attention. "Here it comes." Raquel said, getting everyone to see the egg start to hatch. Everyone dropped their weapons as they spread their arms out at the sight of the hatching of the egg. "It is glorious." Starfire stated. Everyone spread out their arms and prepared for the wasp to emerge.
Just then, before that could happen, needles were thrown into all of their necks. Artemis gasped as the Team all furiously turned to Ahsoka, eyes flashing from black to their normal shades. "What have you done?!" Robin yelled out. Ahsoka stood by the door with a jet injector gun, blowing at it as if she had just made a kill. "I believe that I have just 'pulled your bacon out of the frying pan.'" Ahsoka quipped, shrugging at what she just said. "It was a phrase I heard back then, don't question me." She added on.
A half-possessed M'gann panted as she started to speak to Green Lantern and Starfire. "Kyle Rayner, Koriand'r, you said that Ahsoka Tano was safe, you said that you turned them." She angrily said, starting to revert back to normal. "We did." They both replied simultaneously. Ahsoka smirked and walked up, placing her hand with the jet injector gun on her hip. "Did you, guys? Did you really?" she asked in a taunting voice. She then saw that everyone was confused. "Well, you did, but…" Ahsoka started out.
Four hours ago…
Ahsoka Tano's Point Of View as she explains what happened to the Team…
"After you bit me, I was, how do you say, really wigging." Ahsoka got up after she fell unconscious before falling to the ground again and getting up, but falling to the ground again. "I mean, I passed out about fifty times, people!" Ahsoka then got up onto a rolling chair and started to spin to the left, crashing into some lab equipment. "I stayed with it long enough, though it hurt my brain to remember everything you said…" Ahsoka then came on the chair to the other side of the room, crashing again, before falling to the ground and smashing her fist into the pavement, finally remembering.
Ahsoka then looked into the microwave to check on the antibody. However, upon touching the hybridoma culture pan, she started to yell in pain, tossing the small pan up into the air multiple times before passing out and catching it, in which the heat of the hybridoma pan woke her up again.
Ahsoka then went to placing the antibody in a vial, but the influence of the wasp's bite was starting to get to her. Not wanting this to happen, Ahsoka shook her head and finally placed the hybridoma culture into the vial.
Ahsoka then placed the vial into the centrifuge and let it spin. The Togrutan picked up the jet injector and started waiting, crossing her arms and stomping her foot impatiently. While she was waiting, she started to pass out again, sliding around on the floor on her back before grabbing the edge of the table and banging her head against it.
Finally after a while of passing out and trying to control herself, the timer rang, and the antibody was complete! Ahsoka threw her fist down victoriously before injecting her arm with the jet injector, freeing herself of the wasp's influence.
Current time…
The entire Team was in shock at what Ahsoka had told them. "You… finished the antibody yourself?" Starfire asked in disbelief and awe. "And you were just pretending to be under control so that you could get the vaccine into us?" Wally asked. Ahsoka nodded. "Oh, yeah!" she exclaimed, sliding her thumb across her face. "But that's… chemistry." Serra stated dumbfounded. Ahsoka smiled and chuckled. "Yeah, I know! I actually did it!" Ahsoka stated in an excited tone.
Just then, M'gann started to yawn. Artemis looked to her and grumbled. "Be polite!" she yelled, but she started to yawn as well. "What's happening to us?" Zatanna asked as she placed her hand over her mouth. Ahsoka gasped and placed her finger up. "Oh, right, I almost forgot to tell you!" she exclaimed. "The aftereffects may cause drowsiness." The Togrutan explained. "How do you know?" Connor asked. Ahsoka shrugged and sighed. "How else do you think I passed out fifty times?" she asked. The Team all nodded and before they knew it, they were all unconscious.
Right after the Team fell into consciousness, the egg started to hatch. Ahsoka gasped in horror as the egg collapsed, revealing three wasps! "There are three of them?!" she yelled in disbelief. She looked to the Team. "Guys, wake up!" she yelled, but they were all hardly awake. She gasped even more when she saw that even more wasps appeared, and they started to go for the Team. "No, you don't!" Ahsoka yelled out, grabbing Robin's belt and whipping them with it, but that wasn't enough to stop them. Ahsoka panted and activated her lightsabers, charging into the fray.
Ahsoka was soon on her own against the mutated wasps. "Never mind! This reminds me of a nightmare I had once after a cup of Jawa Juice!" she yelled, slashing at one wasp before kicking away another. She then looked to see even more wasps heading towards her, all moving in a zigzag pattern. Ahsoka gasped when they were out of sight. Suddenly, she sensed something behind her. Before she could react, the sound of water and a slash caught her attention. She turned around and saw Aqualad and Serra standing there, now wide awake!
"Kaldur, Serra, are you–?" Ahsoka started out, but she was cut off by a smile sent by Aqualad. "Thanks to you, we're free." He stated. Green Lantern and Starfire flew as they battled some more wasps. "We're neck deep in a hellhole here!" Kyle Rayner yelled out as the rest of the Team started to take on the rest of the wasps. Ahsoka gasped and looked to everyone. She then looked to her lightsabers and nodded. Serra looked to her friend in confusion as Ahsoka started to calmly walk up to the center of the room. All of the wasps stopped attacking the Team and looked over to Ahsoka before charging at her.
Ahsoka knew that the wasps were coming, she could sense them all around her. She could also hear the Team screaming for her to get out of the way, but she didn't do anything about either one. Slowly, she started to get into a battle stance, legs spread apart and arms aiming downwards. She lifted up her left leg and placed her right hand over her left, spread slightly apart from each other as well. The Team watched as she levitated into the air, gracefully swinging her arms first to her left and then in front of her, now encircling them. As the wasps closed in on her, she started to chant.
"Four Winds bring… Absolute Harmony of the Force!" Ahsoka called out, lifting up her left leg into the air and spreading both of her arms out, causing a Force Repulse to be unleashed, immediately disintegrating all of the wasps, leaving nothing left of them. The Team watched in wonder and awe as Ahsoka unleashed a magnificent power of the Force. Soon, every wasp was wiped out, and Ahsoka fell to the ground, exhausted from the use of her power. She looked to the Team and smiled, who in return, smiled back.
The next morning, all the systems of Mount Justice were back online. Starfire and Kyle had volunteered to stay to help clean up the mess. Everyone was helping out to clean up after what the wasps had left. Kaldur and Raquel were having a talk within a soundproof room, both trying to make up for what happened. Eventually, the two kissed, and all grudges against each other were made up for.
As the Team was cleaning, Ahsoka noticed the Zeta Tube light up while she was mopping the floor. From the yellow light came Kyle with the school teacher, Snapper Carr. Ahsoka smiled and straightened up her posture. "Mr. Carr, what a surprise." She said. Snapper nodded as Kyle stepped up. "I talked to Snapper about your success, and he's agreed to talk to the Board of Education to change your Chemistry grade." The Green Lantern said. Ahsoka smiled and looked to Snapper. "Thank you." She said gratefully. Snapper chuckled and nodded. "After hearing the adventure you had, it was my pleasure." He replied back. With that, he left the Cave.
A couple hours later, the Cave was now clean again. Ahsoka and the Team met with Starfire and Green Lantern in the Hangar Bay. "Sorry for the trouble." Kori said while massaging her left arm. Aqualad shook his head and stepped up. "I should be the one saying sorry here." He replied back. "I was the one who caused the parasitic virus to spread." Kaldur added on. Ahsoka stepped up and placed a hand on Kaldur's shoulder. "You didn't know what you were doing, so don't kill yourself here." She reprimanded. Kaldur smiled slightly at this before Kyle looked to his ring. "Oh, my. Look at the time." He said. The Team smiled and nodded. "Thank you for your help, you two!" Zatanna yelled out. "Come any time!" Serra added on. The two nodded and soon flew off.
As soon as the two were gone, Ahsoka looked back to the rest of the Team. "Well, I learned my lesson." She stated. The rest of the Team then lifted up their report cards as they took the time to read them. "I'll never stress over a bad grade like that again." The Togrutan mused, causing everyone to laugh.
Just then, Jaybo's eyes started to widen when he looked to a certain section of his report card. "What?!" he yelled. The Team looked to him as his eyes seemed to come out of their sockets. "I got C+ in Robotics?!" Drol yelled out. The rest of the Team laughed again as Ahsoka patted the young genius on the shoulder. "We've all been there, Jay, we've all been there." She quipped.
Author's Note: Well, everyone, what did you think? This chapter, by far, is the longest one I've ever written! I hope this compensates for the long wait. This was originally meant to be a chapter for Friday the Thirteenth, but I ran out of time. Still, I hope that you all liked this chapter I worked so hard on. I can't guarantee any more frequent updates, so chapter updates could be rare. Still, I'll try my best to get this story done. My contest is still going on, so please, feel free to give any idea you would like, just be sure that it is creative, epic, under Rated M, original, and fits the plot of my story.
