Chapter 13 Bella POV Once everyone had left, I felt my heart jump up to my throat. I stood still for a minute trying to think through what I was going to say. "I brought this too you" I heard Edward say I looked up and he was holding out the most beautiful rose I had seen and I instantly knew it was from Esme's garden. I smiled then said "Thank you Edward. Does Esme know you took this from her garden?" I teased "Well she does now, but she has no problem with it. I just wanted to bring you something to help you get through the day." He answered sounding a little shy. "Edward…"I began and placed my hand on his arm, I noticed that he stiffened a little and with that I started to move my hand away until he grabbed it with his own. I didn't fight him because it felt so right and the electricity shot through my body. "Edward… you being here is going to help me get through this. You don't understand how much I appreciate it." I said while intertwining our fingers. If it felt so right to me yet so wrong at the same time and I wondered what it felt like to him to have my fingers there. When he started to pull his hand away I gripped it tighter. "Edward I know what I said, but I am still going to stand by it but today I need you. I need this…"I gestured to our intertwined hands. "Can you do that without thinking that you've won me back?" I asked trying not to have my voice crack in front of him. "I… um…." I noticed that he hesitated before he looked from our hands and then back to me, "Yes, my love, I can. Let me know if it is too much though and I'll back off." I nodded, letting the fact that he just called me his love roll off my shoulders. "We should probably get in there I'm sure the service is starting soon." Edward said, as he started to pull away again I pulled him in to a hug clearly startling him. I felt him pause and then filling his arms wrap around me. "I love you Bells, I will win you back." I heard him say. That was very hard for me to hear. I knew he loved me and I felt bad that I was torturing him with this whole winning me back thing. "I know Edward, I know." I pulled away looking at the rose he had given me and smiling on the inside, then I grabbed his hand again and we walked into the chapel. Through the entire service I couldn't help but cling to Edward's hand. The second the service started I began crying. Edward held me against him and kept rubbing my back reassuringly. I sat between Edward and Carlisle. Both held my hands through the service, and honestly it was comforting. I felt so stupid crying because no one else was. The entire town had shown up and out of that I was the only one crying. Once the service was over I had several people come up to me and give me their condolences. I thanked every one of them puffy eyed and all. Edward never once left my side. He did exactly what I asked him to and that made him a small baby step closer to gaining my trust back. After everyone had left it was just the Cullen's and I outside of the funeral home. "Bella, dearest why don't you come over to the house for a while. I'm sure you don't want to be alone right now." Esme said softly placing her hand on my shoulder. "Thank you Esme. But I will be okay by myself." "Aw Bella you should come. One you shouldn't be alone and two we can have a sleep over. Please, Please, Please?" Alice pleaded "Yeah Bella you should be with family, err… well the family you have left…" Emmett said awkwardly. I thought about it for a few minutes and then said "Okay, I'll come. And we can have a sleep over Alice but I need to go to my house and get my things." "At least let one of us drive you sweetheart, I don't want something to happen to you, none of us do." Carlisle said "Okay." I looked at Edward who was still by me holding my hand. "Edward will you drive me?" "Sure beautiful." He said quietly. "Alright then we will meet you at the house, and I'll have something for you to eat Bella, you must be hungry." Esme said getting into the Mercedes. "See you at the house Bella!" I heard Emmett yell and looked over to see the four of them getting into the jeep waving. The doors closed and both of the car engines roaring to life and I watched the cars pull out of the parking lot and turn towards the Cullen Mansion. "Are you ready to go Bella?" I heard Edward say. "Yeah, here's the keys, but be careful this was my daddy's baby, and now it is my baby." He chuckled and said "Alright Bells. I'll be careful." We got into the car and drove to my house. As he cut the ignition I invited him in while I went upstairs putting the rose in a vase as I went. I decided since I was here I would change out of these clothes. Still wanting to look cute I put on my Billabong Lost Again Pullover sweatshirt, my Ali Baba trousers and my black Chuck Taylor stonewashed HI tops. I switched out my earrings for a double pair of faux pearl earrings, put on my anchor necklace, and switched out my ring that my dad gave me to an anchor ring and added a set of anchor rings, with a nautical bracelet. I took out my contacts took off my makeup and put on my ray band glasses and threw my hair up into a cute but messy bun. I went back to my room and pulled out my eastpak breaker backpack and put a pair of undergarments and my Mike Wazowski oversized sweatshirt and some fitted gray sweats for my pajamas and then a sports bra and shorts with my running shoes and socks, as well as my baseball jacket, a light thermal shirt, a pair of skinny jeans, and my favorite beanie. I zipped my back pack up and went back to the bathroom to grab my shower stuff, my tooth paste and tooth brush, my hair brush and any other necessity I needed for the night and then my small jewelry box. After putting that in my backpack I grabbed my Proenza Schouler Grey & Banana Yellow Leather Ps1 Pouch Shoulder Bag, and headed down stairs. "I'm ready to go Edward." I said once I was down the stairs. "Alright Bells, let's go." He said walking up behind me and grabbing my bag from me as we walked out to the car.
