Resentful of his pod's decision to revive him while removing large chunks of his memory, 9S sets out to fill in the blanks. Along the way, he uncovers new memories. Files not of his own, but belonging to a prototype iteration of himself. His simple quest to remember suddenly spirals into a twisted mission to resurrect this mysterious android by any means necessary.

For 2B and 9S, the memories they share are their most precious treasure. I stole those memories. All of them. Even the ones 9S lost long before 2B's demise. We all thought Project Gestalt could succeed, but it didn't. We all thought humanity would wake from its deep slumber, they never will. We thought so many things, and all of them turned out to be so, so wrong. Well, that's why the Alternative Project exists, but even that had a low chance of succeeding. But maybe, just maybe, it's what will give us hope...

Down on Earth, a group of outlaw-like rogue YoRHa androids known as the Dented Plate Gang cause all kinds of trouble like robbing shops, and when they capture 2B, it's up to 9S to stop the group of wrongdoers and save his partner wild west style.

Upon meeting 2B, Anemone begins to remember Number 2 and her old companions, wondering just how much this new unit could be different or alike to her old friend. She believed she'd been the sole survivor of the mission at Mount Ka'ala for the longest time, that all she had left were memories, until someone proves her wrong.

In which a not-quite SI is stuck in the Taroverse, around the events of NieR: Automata. Not that he knows it, of course. What else to do, but start a vlog detailing his misadventure? I don't know what to call this. Its not quite fluff, its not quite crack, its not quite serious - its just a man talking at a camera, at an audience that he can't see. Take that as you will.
