Adventures Though Time

Chapter 3: falling, screaming and wandering

Day 1 Part2

The past Ingrid and the future Vlad stared at each other for a few seconds, Ingrid took a step back from her brother and shook her head smiling wickedly looking the vampire up and down, the atmospher was growing thick all around them and Vlad wondered if telling the truth to Ingrid was not one of his smartest moves.

"My brother is no vampire," Ingrid said in disbelief, she hated to admit but this vampire impressed her, how he's kept calm in their situation (despite the fright earlier) and the aura of authority he had and not to mention Ingrid found him quite attractive. She found it hard to process that this good-looking, powerful and composed vampire was her whimpy little brother Vlad, it just ruined the course of nature and now that he was probably older than her made it worse.

"You're not a vampire either," Vlad said also taking a step back and turned away from his sister "Well not yet anyway.

"I'm more of a vampire than you would ever be," Ingrid snapped. "When I'm sixteen and I have my full powers I will knock you over like a tower of blocks."

Vlad laughed, "surely Ingrid, I thought you would come up with a better insult than that unless your heart is not that into it."

"Oh shut up," Ingrid shot crossing her arm like a spoilt child, this only made Vlad laugh again.

"Come on sis we need to find a way out of here."

Despite the foul mood that Ingrid was in she helped her 'little' brother find a way out, there were no doors nor windows so Ingrid checked the walls and the floor in hope of finding a trap door while Vlad crawled along the celling to see if there was a way out though there. Ingrid tried not to watch her vampire brother doing this or she would burn up with jealousy, yeah she was not taking the fact that Vlad had powers before her very well (even though he was from the future it still annoyed her). They had spent half an hour doing this and were just about to give up when Vlad found a five centremeter rope hanging from the ceiling.

Vlad found this quite strange why would a rope be hanging from a celling? In this place things can't be there without a reason. Vlad tugged at the string it didn't move an inch, suddenly the room started to rumble for one second, Vlad fell from the celling landing on his hands and feet like cat while Ingrid stood up and strolled over to her brother.

"Where did that come from?" She asked but before Vlad could answer a door suddenly appeared in front of them but it was no ordinary door, there was no wall beside it, it was just standing up straight on the floor Vlad cautiously walked around the door but it was just the same on the other side.

"Ok this is weird," commented Ingrid and she pulled open the door and it showed a long stone corridor lit by gas lights along the wall, Ingrid peered closer, the corridor looked endless and it made Ingrid shiver, she liked darkness and danger yes, but nothing endless.

Vlad poked his head around the door it looked rather strange with Vlad's head out and his body literally behind the door.

"So do we trust this door or not?" Vlad asked, Ingrid turned to face her brother and blinked a few times surprised that a full vampire and a male at that was asking her opinion, no one asked her opinion on anything, it was always her dad who bossed her around and her little brother being the hero, so why had Vlad changed now? Did he respect her because of who she will become in the future? Or had he now grown up? Ingrid didn't know and it wasn't the time to think about it she needed to decide if she wanted to go through the door or not.

To be honest with herself she felt safer in the room she was in now rather than that dark corridor, it felt as if it wanted to drag her in and she would keep walking endlessly forever until she died of thirst or starvation, what a pathetic way to die…

Then again she could die in this large room with nothing to go on at all, if she went through the door at least she would have a good chance of escaping.

She turned to Vlad standing up straight with a big smirk spread across her face either she was randomly happy at that moment or she was trying to cover up her fear Vlad wasn't sure but the words she spoke didn't surprise him in the slightest.

"Let's go"

The past Robin thought it would never end, the darkness, the falling, the screaming but eventually he felt himself land on something soft and warm, he opened his eyes that have been closed the entire time falling. He found himself in a brightly lit room, with red stone walls with no celling only a black hole. He looked down to see what he landed on, he didn't know what it was he landed on but it was a dark scaly green like something you would find of a lizard. The scaly green floor was moving slightly up and down but Robin managed to get up still unaware that the floor was breathing.

Robin looked up at the black hole again waiting for the future Ingrid to start coming down. She wouldn't fall face first like Robin did she would land gracefully on her hand and feet like a black slick cat then she would stand up straight push that lovely long black fringe from her snow white face, but Robin's imagination was not always right, soon Ingrid came down up she did not land gracefully as Robin expected her to in fact when Robin saw her she was lying on her back, her hair wind swept over her face, her red dress and black cape was creased and it looked like she was missing a shoe.

Robin wanted to laugh but knowing that was not the best way to win a girls heart he pushed his humour aside and extended his hand towards Ingrid.

"Are you ok Ingrid" he asked so sincerely that it surprised Robin himself.

"Get away from me you weirdo," Ingrid snapped slapping Robin's hand away leaving him with scratch marks. Robin looked down at his hand feeling slightly hurt by Ingrid's attitude.

"I was only trying to help," Robin said hoping he voice sounded stronger than he actually felt.

"I don't need help from a breather!" She snapped again picking herself up from the floor and dusting herself off, "I'm a vampire a powerful vampire you're just some weird vampire wanabe who just tags along."

"I'm not a tag along I'm your friend," Robin said defensively stepping up to the older vampire, "and if you're really powerful as you say then why can't you land on your hands and feet, seriously I've seen dogs do better?!"

Ingrid was furious how a mere breather dare insult her. With her hand extended she sent Robin flying to the other side of the room he was lucky not to go flying towards the brick wall and smash his head in but he landed with a large bump on the scaly floor. Suddenly the floor jerked making Ingrid stumble a bit, she looked down she hadn't thought about the floor she noticed it was green and scaly not your average floor boards. Suddenly it gave another jerk now the floor was tilting and Ingrid and Robin found themselves sliding down.

Ingrid cursed herself, how could she have not noticed before? How could she have been so stupid? She was sliding down the back of a dragon.

Past Chloe Brannagh awoke with a start, her eyes flew open and she sat up, the room around her seemed to be shaking, dust was falling from the plastered celling on to the pale wooden floor boards that were coming lose due to the pressure. Chloe tried to stand but only found herself tumbling to the floor again, she looked around the room in fear, if this was an earthquake she was going to have to find something to crawl under but there was no furniture in sight and she was on her own.

Where was Robin?

She suddenly heard a loud creek under her before she could look down she found herself falling into blackness

"Do you hear that?" The future Vlad asked his past sister, he could hear faint screaming and it was coming from above him and it seemed to be getting louder.

"Yeah I hear it too," The past Ingrid looking around there was nothing to see exept her brother, gas lights and stone walls, they had been walking north for what seemed liked hours (Though it was probably only 20 minutes)feeling the walls for some hidden door but they were nowhere closer to getting out.

They stood listening searching for the source of the noise, it was getting louder and it was definitely come from above them. There mustn't off have been a celling in this dark corridor because suddenly something heavy had dropped landing on unfortunate Ingrid.

"Ingrid you ok?" the future Vlad asked worried about his sister, he heard a moan of pain from where his sister was but it didn't sound like Ingrid. Vlad saw a young girl who had fallen on Ingrid she had long blond hair and was wearing shorts and a pink tee struggling to get up. He picked up the girl before Ingrid had a chance to throw her off.

"Are you ok?" he asked the girl laying her to the side.

"What about me!" asked the past Ingrid who was still in a heap on the floor, Vlad would have found it amusing if it weren't for the circumstances.

"Shut up Ingrid, I already asked you if you were ok but you didn't answer," Vlad smirked not waiting for his sisters reaction he concentrated on the blond girl in front of him.

Her eyes where blue and wide with fear, her mouth was open in shock she looked like she wanted to ask who the person in front of her was, she recognised Ingrid but whoever hung around with Ingrid was bad news.

"It's ok," Vlad said reassuringly putting his hand on the girls shoulder, "my name is Vlad, you are safe here I won't let harm come to you, could you tell me your name?"

"M m y name is C-chloe Brannagh…"
