Adventures Though Time

Chapter 4:

Day 1: Part 3

The past Robin and future Ingrid landed side by side on the stone floor which was rather warm which was probably due to the dragon. Ingrid wasn't sure that she dared look behind her but Robin still hadn't caught on, he screamed when he saw the long black shadow of the dark green dragon looming over him, Ingrid looked. The dragon turned its long neck and ruby red eyes towards them, Ingrid's mouth was wide open in fear she had never seen anything so huge and it was leaning towards them, its' mouth showed its' small but needle sharp teeth.

"RUN!" Ingrid cried grabbing Robin by the arm and used her vampire speed to get away from the dragon but there was a problem the vampire speed wasn't actually speed-y. She was still fast but she was moving half the speed than usual, she blamed Robin being an extra weight on her but she had carried breathers before and she had never had this problem. The she remembered when she had thrown Robin backwards she had expected him to smack against the wall but he hadn't gone very far, were her powers weakening?

"Ingrid look out!" Robin cried, she was too busy thinking that she didn't see that she was coming into contact with a wall, she stopped just in time with her nose only a few centimetres from the wall.

"That was close," Robin breathed Ingrid couldn't agree more but when she turned back she saw that the dragon had caught up with them, there was nowhere to run now.

"Spoke too soon," Robin sighed and turned to Ingrid "Got a Plan?" He asked.

"Nope," mumbled Ingrid, feeling pretty useless now as the dragon opened its large mouth wide and slowly came towards them. It seemed to be taking its time, it was probably enjoying the look of terror on their faces or it wasn't really that hungry but wanted to eat them anyway.

"But you're a vampire, can't you fight it?" Robin had a fair point but this dragon was the size of ten full grown elephants and her powers haven't been very useful today but she had to do something, she was Ingrid Dracula!

Ingrid bared her fangs and hissed at the dragon in front of her; she shot out her hands to force the creature back. The dragon stopped and blinked a few times it must of felt something, Ingrid tried again the dragon was moving much slower but it was still advancing on the pair. Ingrid didn't know how long she could hold it off her muscles in her arms were aching, she felt her power leaving her as she suddenly grew tired and sweat was pouring down her head Eww how un-lady-like…

She had to come up with an idea and fast she could already smelling the dragons foul breath, she could hear Robin whimpering behind her and she knew if she didn't she was dust.

Probably not far where Ingrid was battling the dragon past Vlad and future Robin where walking side by side down a lightly lit corridor with crystal white polished walls which you find in those American shows. Vlad was glad about this it was better and long stone cold corridor they had been walking down earlier but he felt more intense about their situation. Future Robin was different he would rather be back in that creepy dark stone hall way where the bright light didn't hurt his eyes and all he had to worry about was that his iPhone didn't run out of battery while it was shining the way with its bright screen. Some places can be too dark or too light can't we have something in the middle, Robin thought about this while Vlad came to a sudden stop.

Robin turned to his best friend who was now a lot younger than him, the younger reached into his pocket where from he produced the letter that appeared to them the moment they both awoke in that plain old hall way, he looked nervous as he read the letter again and said while carrying on walking;

"Somewhere in this mirror is a vampire version of myself."

"Yeah," said Robin wondering where this was leading too.

"I think I've met him," Vlad said suddenly, Robin blinked in surprise.

"Really?" He asked, how could that happen, "When did you see him?" Vlad suddenly looked nervous not meeting Robin in the eyes.

"It's weird," Vlad confessed with a shrug.

"And this isn't?" Robin smiled; yeah talking to your best friend who was now five years younger is not weird at all…

Vlad smiled back and took a deep breath, "Last year…or a few months ago, I went into the mirror."

"Mirror?" Robin asked confused.

"The blood mirror, the same one we are in now."

"Oh" said Robin feeling a little stupid.

"And this guy was there, probably about your age now, he was a vampire but he was very nice I think it was me." Robin was stunned not by Vlad meeting his other self but by the fact that he had been through the same thing, but he knew was talking to his younger version so Vlad's theory may be correct.

"You believe I'm right," the young Vlad said noticing the looking on Robin's face, Robin nodded.

"Do you think the others have been though the same thing?" Vlad asked.

"If you have seen your future self and I've seen my past self then that must be the case."

"And we only have a week," Vlad said grimly.

"Or we're trapped forever," Robin finished.

"Then we need to get a move on" Vlad said and started to walk quicker to find a door leading out of this place, Robin followed closely behind.

Chloe felt like she was in one of those bad dreams where you're suddenly falling then after you stop something strange happens, but this wasn't a dream this was real she had to pinch herself to check which earned her a strange look from older Vlad.

"Chloe Brannagh?" Vlad said slowly carefully pronouncing the words "From Stockely."

Chloe nodded trying to see something she recognised from the old Vlad to this new Vlad. He nodded understanding the situation, he didn't seem surprised at all that his friend from four years ago had fallen from the ceiling, well his older sister who was now younger than him was sitting on the floor I suppose you wouldn't be surprised.

Vlad got off the floor and straightened himself up, turning to Ingrid he spoke in a commanding voice that Chloe didn't know Vlad was capable of.

"Ingrid get up."

"What?" Ingrid gasped with her mouth hung open, how dare her 'younger' brother boss her around.

"You heard me, get up we have no time to be lying round, remember what the note said we only have a week to find our other self's or we are trapped here forever, we just found younger Chloe so the others won't be too far away."

"Suppose you got a point," Ingrid grumbled and reluctantly got herself up off the floor.

"Can you walk?" Vlad turning to Chloe reaching his hand out for her to take, luckily Chloe was good at getting over her emotions of shock and took Vlad's hand and said she was ok and pulled herself up.

"Right," Vlad clapped his hands together, "I'm sure as anything there will be an end to this tunnel and we should come across some of the others."

"How can you be so sure?" Ingrid asked suspiciously.

"Because this mirror wanted to play a game with us and keep surprising us, it would be too boring if we continued in one straight line."

"Why do I get the feeling you're right," Chloe said nervously looking around the room having the feeling that someone was watching them.

"Let's hurry up then."

"I'm so hungry," The future Count moaned with his head leaning against the stone cold wall, "I've not eaten since breakfast."

"Well if you bit me master," The past Renfield pointed out, "you would not be hungry and I would have my dream of immortality, then everyone wins."

The future Count stared at the past Renfield who was dirty, covered in boils and probably had lice, he couldn't believe he was actually thinking of doing this, but he would sooner bite 2014 Renfield that this walking disease.

"Look Renfield," The Count sighed "however kind that offer is I'd rather be dust, trapped in this infernal cell than bite you."

"So is that a yes or a no?" The past Renfield asked grinning with hope that his master was kidding, that only made the count want to bang his head against the wall several times, but he didn't have any time to do that because the wall behind the Count suddenly opened up, the Count jumped in surprise as a tall dark figure appeared from the entrance.

"Need any help?" a familiar voice called out.

"Jonathan?" The Count called out in surprise, what was the slayer doing here?

"Count Dracula," It was the future Jonno, looking the same as always he put the wooden stake he was holding back in this pocket knowing that the future Count wasn't much of a threat.

"I can't believe I'm saying this to a slayer," The Count said, "but I am forever in your debt, I've been stuck with this idiot too long."

Jonno was staring at the past Renfield in shock, he had forgotten how dirty Renfield used to be when he was younger before he knew vampire's existed, he thought it was all just media making it up, he still thought it now there was no way a person could be that ugly, but in a world of time travel, vampire's and werewolves anything was possible…

"Yeah it's me come on we need to find the others!"
