Adventures Though Time
Chapter 5: An end of a long day
Day 1: Part 4
Ingrid couldn't remember when she blacked out or why she was lying on a red carpeted floor with someone's leather jacket over her, all she remembered was the dark emerald green dragon coming towards her with its large mouth and sharp teeth. She wondered if it was all a dream, the mirror, the note, the dragon, younger Robin maybe it was just some crazy nightmare and at this moment she was napping on the floor in one of Garside's guest rooms, maybe her old sleepwalking habits have returned? She was so convinced that was the case, it was a nasty shock for her when young Robin's head and a head of a dragon appeared over her…
"Hey Ingrid!" Younger Robin smiled cheerfully, like have a large dragon sitting next to you is not strange at all, even for vampires.
"What is that thing doing here, why is he not eating us?" Ingrid asked nodding her head towards the dragon who seemed to be studying Ingrid to see if she was some museum artefact Ingrid was doing the same to the dragon, why where they not dragon poop yet?
"Denver is not a thing," Robin said defensively, "he's harmless he brought us here after you passed out" Denver was obviously the name of the dragon.
"Harmless?" Ingrid , now she was sitting up staring at Robin in disbelief, "This guy was coming after us with his mouth open and teeth ready to tear us apart."
The dragon Denver gave a few snorts and grunts, Robin was nodding understanding what the dragon was telling him, "He says we misunderstood, he didn't want to hurt us he only wanted to take us somewhere safer."
"Wait, how do you understand what he is saying and I don't," Ingrid asked puzzled on why she couldn't hear anything.
"Because you don't listen," Robin said, "Don't ask me what that means, but I suppose you need give it some time."
"Well how can you do it then?"
"I'm not sure I'm just good at listening I suppose, look now that you're up we need to find the others, Denver says there are more of us wondering around and it won't be long till some are in real danger."
"Why should I care?" The future Ingrid shrugged her shoulders, her family wouldn't come to rescue her so why shouldn't she do the same.
"Because somewhere," Robin took the note out his trouser pocket, "is your past self and my future self if we can't find them in a week we can never go home."
"That's just great," Ingrid sighed leaning back down on the floor again, could her day get any worse? Her own family blood mirror was trying to kill her, she gets stuck with an idiot, her powers are weakening, and she's battled a dragon and passed out while a breather was looking after her that's just brilliant.
"Denver wants to help us," Robin said, "He knows this mirror and can fly us to places."
Ingrid looked at the dragon in doubt, how would Ingrid know to trust him or not? If Denver knew this mirror well he could be a great help or he could be tricking them, either way Ingrid didn't have any better ideas she wanted more than anything to get out of this place, if the dragon stabbed them in the back she could leave and make her own way around, this time she wouldn't worry about Robin.
"Fine then," Ingrid said as she jumped off the floor and stood in front of them with her hands on her hips ready for action "Where do we start?"

"Oh no, Oh no this is bad very very bad," the clean-ish and future Renfield had been wandering around this maze nearly all day lost and with nowhere to go and now past Wolfie was crying.
Yes, Past Wolfie you know the baby. If you are wondering how baby Wolfie got involved in this, well you just have to wait. But the problem was that baby Wolfie had been crying non-stop for almost two hours! When Renfield found him whilst walking through this maze he was alone, fast asleep in his blanket, Renfield was dumb but he wouldn't leave a baby on his own, so he picked him up and has carried him around since. Wolfie had been quietly sleeping for the rest of the journey but as soon as he woke up he had been screaming, crying, wailing, whatever you want to call it.
Renfield had tried everything. Fed him the spare beetles he kept him his pocket, bounced him up and down, tried singing to him which only made Wolfe's crying worse he even checked his nappy which was clean. Renfield could only assume that he missed his mummy but who in their right mind would miss Magda, Renfield didn't know, but that wasn't important right now he still hadn't come across any of the others and his legs were getting tired of all this walking but he wouldn't give up he had to find his Master, Master Vlad, Mistress Ingrid whatever time period they were from he had to find them.
If only Wolfie would just shut up.
If Wolfie would quieten down Renfield might be able to calculate the area and perimiter of this maze, mark where he had already been do a load of complicated math stuff and he might to able to get himself out, but the noise of Wolfie was too distracting, he needed a five minute rest.
He leaned against one of the hedge's that made up the maze, still having the crying baby Wolfie in his arms Renfield started to search around the bottom of the hedge maybe he could find some sort bug or insect to snack on, he wasn't hungry but it was something to keep Wolfie quite.
He couldn't find anything not that he had anytime because suddenly he heard a scream and Wolfie stopped crying. Renfield picked Wolfie up and ran to where the noise had come from, he was sure that it come North and that it wasn't to faraway. He had to help, a woman was in trouble what if it was Mistress Ingrid or young Chloe or …. Mistress Magda!?
Yes, there she was Magda Westernrasitting on the floor with a look of distress on her face, the curls in her black hair had fallen out and her red dress was looked like it was in need of a good ironing. But whether that this was the future Magda or the Past Magda Renfield wasn't sure she hadn't really changed that much over the years but whichever one it was it wasn't like either of them to look helpless and in distress, unless they want something.
"Oh no what do you want now?" Renfield groaned, he could get away with being rude to Magda, having the smell of a dead badger with possible rabies no vampires would want to drain you. Besides the Master promised Renfield that he would bite him in thirteen leap years he could wait.
"I don't need any help from a breather thank you," said Magda her worried face had now faded into a look of snootiness.
"But I heard screaming," Renfield pointed out he was sure it was Magda she, Renfield and Wolfie where the only ones here.
"That wasn't me you idiot!" Magda snapped, "I just fell and broke my nail, with is a tragedy yes but I wouldn't scream over it."
"Oh ok," said Renfield not really knowing what to do now but then he remembered Wolfie in his arms, "I think this belongs to you Mistress Magda," he said, holding out Wolfie for Magda to take, Wolfie had gone strangely quiet.
"Oh yeah him," Magda said dismissively, "found him sound asleep, I knew it was past Wolfie the moment I picked him up, then after walking forever my arms started to get tired so I put him down so I could walk more easily."
"Wait," Renfield interrupted, "you dumped your baby, in some unknown maze where anything could pop out and you just left him?!" Ok it's pretty obvious that Renfield does care for Wolfie, anything new?
"My own needs come first badger breath," Magda snorted, "besides I'm looking for the future Wolfie you know the one that can walk." Ok this is the 2014 Magda.
"That doesn't mean you should leave the past Wolfie, there is a good chance if our past self's die or are permanently injured it also comes back to us."
"So you're saying," Magda said slowly "If my past version turns to dust the same happens to me?"
"Likely yes," Renfield nodded, he changed Wolfe's position so he was holding Wolfie with one arm while his free hand reached into his pocket, "Did you get a note like this?" he pulled the note from his pocket and passed it to Magda.
"Yes," Magda said "I don't know what it has to do with me though, I'm not a part of the Dracula family anymore."
"And I'm just a breather yet I'm here," Renfield pointed out put the note back in his pocket he looked up at the sky that he had taken no notice of since he got here, when he arrived at this place it was daylight now it was night, he realised time still flowed the same as it did in the real world. If so he hoped that the Dracula family where safe inside some building and that they weren't already dust.
"I need to find my master," Renfield sighed, "Suppose you don't want your baby back"
Magda shook her head.
"OK well I hope I don't see you soon mistress Magda."
"Wait, you're just going to leave me here?"
"I thought you didn't want help from a breather?"
"I didn't say I needed help, but I want to get out of here and if you are looking for a way out you're going to need me" Magda got up from the floor leaving her heels so she was bare foot.
"Or more like you don't want to be alone," Renfield grinned showing his yellow ugly teeth with that Magda bared her fangs and snarled,
"Don't push it breather."
Xxx
"If we just keep going down this tunnel, we should just about find our self's at the exit."
"You've said all day."
"Positive thinking is the key to survival."
The Past Count groaned, he swore they have had this conversation about a hundred times now, he found future Chloe by accident. They had been both traveling around this cave all day, The Count was perfectly happy being alone but then he found Chloe and she just had to tag along, he would of bit her if she wasn't one of Vlad's friends and that she was clever. The Count would never admit this out loud but the breather girl knew her stuff and could come in useful to finding his clan.
But bats wings was she starting to get annoying, oh well at least the future Chloe was a lot more braver and adventurous than the past one.
Chloe wished she thought to bring a torch, a rope, blanket or a survival kit, I mean she should have known this would happen to her eventually, hanging round with vampire's and all. She had tried her mobile phone but the battery had ran out and she couldn't get a signal anyway, she had brought her usual stake that she brought with her when she went to visit the Dracula's (she no intention on using it but you never know) and a pack of gum which she didn't know how it would protect her from dark creatures but oh well…
The cave wasn't cold and it wasn't too dark so that she couldn't see but there was an unsettling chill about the place, of course the count couldn't sense it as he just brushes these things off but Chloe felt like that they weren't the only ones here, she had not seen any animals, insets or bugs around the place which was odd, the walls off the cave where made of smooth rock like it was man made or vampire made (Whatever) but this place was not natural.
Suddenly a sound of hissing came from the from above them, the past Count and future Chloe stopped in their tracks
"What was noise?" Chloe asked suddenly, she didn't know why she was asking the Count he would probably come up with some pathetic explanation about air pipes or the age of the cave but Chloe didn't have be a smarty pants, A* student to know that was not the case. So the Count surprised her when he looked serious for once.
"Something we don't want to run into," The Count muttered looking around the cave to see if the hissing things where lurking around near them. The Count suddenly snapped out of his wondering and his eyes fell on Chloe, but not Chloe, her shoulder.
The Count's eyes widened, Chloe had no time to ask what was wrong as she felt a cold, ghostly hand grab her from her shoulder's, she screamed she had never felt anything so cold before, it was colder than ice, colder than snow but was not just tempature cold, the thing that grabbed her felt liked it was made of nothing but pure evil and darkness. It didn't feel alive, not even dead just endless nothingness and Chloe felt it draining her life source with that one touch.
She was too much in shock and overcome with the feeling a dread and coldness that she did not notice the Count shoot fire from his hands towards the creature, she heard it scream and suddenly she was released from the chilling grip but she was not out of the freezer yet as she fell and another pair of cold hands gripped her but this time she was safe, the Count had saved her that was the thing that Chloe couldn't get round her head as her mind fell into darkness.
Sorry for the wait collage has started up again The next chapter will be day 2 part 1 considering that the first chapter should have been part 1.
As you can see, a load different stories are going on here and they somehow have to join together within less than seven days and there are still more characters that have yet to be introduced such as future Wolfe, Past Magda and Past Jonno.
