Nepal, Unknown Time Adam POV
I sigh as I pull my jacket more around me, trying to cover up my face the best I can. Artemis sent me on this mission, how long ago was it? It feels like years, but it's only been a few months. It's a silent night, the only light coming from the single street light. I check my watch. Did my contact, Hades, send me on a fool's errand?
Hades was a weird guy. He was really touchy about germs and stuff. Secondly, who the hell names their kid after the Greek god of death? Sure, he was strange, but he hadn't led me wrong. Well, not yet, anyways. I inspect the camera I have from my perch on the bridge out of boredom. The iris is wide, so that it can bring in as much light as possible. Artemis promised me that this guy was trustworthy, but so far he's been very distant.
I suddenly see a flicker of light in the corner of my eye. A shadow! I lift up the camera to my eye and zoom in on a single figure in all black who walks up slowly to the light pole. This was supposed to be the big meet up. I remember what Hades told me about Endpoint.
"They're a group to be feared. Artemis thinks that they're experimenting in biotech engineering. Problem is, we need proof. You know who Artemis is one to make rash decisions. Just collect evidence on them; then we'll get you home before you know it."
But why me? Why didn't Artemis send someone more knowledgeable, like Ally or even Robin? This hits me as I stare into the iris. The figure stops walking and then looks up at me. Cold, cunning eyes meet mine through the hunk of plastic and metal.
It's Hades!
I feel betrayed, I feel lost, but most of all, when I pull away from the camera, I feel the blow of something heavy on the back of my head, and that's when it all goes black.
Little Short Chapter! Next one's gonna be big and I don't want to keep you guys waiting! It involves a little panties and bra in public for someoneā¦.
