Hey guys! sorry this took so long, but hopefully it was worth the wait! hope you like it! I don't own fairytail, in case you forgot!
Evergreen POV
Evergreen stood pacing in her room, staring at the piece of paper. She knew it going would be a mistake; it was obviously a trap, come to the forest alone in the dead of night? That sounded so safe- note the sacrasm! But at the same time, she couldn't get those images out of her mind, the boy writhing on the ground with pain, Damien howling up to the sky in laughter while flames danced around him. Just the thought of it gave her shivers. Finally she steeled her nerves. Even if they were planning an ambush on her, she had to know the truth. She steeled her nerves, and marched outside her door...
Only to run head first into Freed's chest, knocking the two of them onto their butts. "Watch it Ever!" Freed complained, rubbing his head.
"well if you had just knocked on the door, this wouldn't have happened!" Ever complained, groping around for her glasses.
Freed reached out and grabbed them, placing them on her eyes. "we were about to when you came barging out like a rhino!"
Bixlow just stood over them, watching the two of them struggle. "well I'll be."
Both of them turned to glare at him. "what?" they both snapped in annoyance.
Bixlow chuckled. "I've known the both you off for so long, and now the truth comes out."
"what are you talking about?" Ever grumbled struggling to stand up.
"well, isn't it obvious? Though I am surprised at you Freed, I never imagined you'd cheat on your girlfriend."
Both of them snapped their head towards him. "WHAT?" they both said in unison.
Bixlow just smiled. "well, Ever I could see, but I always thought that Freed had more class then that! And I thought I would've seen it by now! The two of you have been working so close to each other for so many years now..."
Freed and Ever simultaneously punched him in the face. "how dare you even suggest that I would cheat on my Mira!" Freed growled.
"and what do you mean 'Freed' has more class then that! You think I would cheat?"
"well, if the shoe fits." Ever punched him again.
Freed rolled his eyes, ignoring Bixlow's doll that had started circling him in a frenzy. "anyway, where are you headed Ever? It's pretty late to be going out don't you think?"
Suddenly, Ever put on her serious face. Should she be telling these guys? It would be better not to go alone, but she might be putting them in danger.
"well well, what do you have here?" Ever turned towards Bixlow, her eyes widened. He was holding the piece of paper that the boy had given her.
"Give me that it's mine!" Ever protested, reaching out for the paper.
"forest on the South side of town, come alone." Bixlow read aloud, holding the paper out of Ever's reach. "my oh my Ever, out on a little secret meeting with your secret boyfriend?"
"it couldn't be!" Freed teased. "Elfman isn't in this town, we would have noticed someone so big."
Ever growled at him. "would you shut up? It's nothing like that!"
"then what is it?" Bixlow asked, smirking.
Ever was silent for a moment, unsure if she should say anything. "it's from the bandits."
Immediately, the joking mood was forgotten. "excuse me?" Freed asked.
"look, I know it's stupid, but I have to meet with them." Ever insisted.
"beyond stupid it's insane." Bixlow protested. "it's obviously a trap."
"even Bixlow can see that it's a dumb idea, and that's saying something!"
"Hey!"
"they said that the bandits aren't what we think they are." Ever protested. The others went quiet, and Ever took this as her chance. "don't you guys think there's something strange going on here? Something just isn't quite right? don't you guys want answers?"
the boys looked at each other. "It does feel kind of strange." Bixlow admitted.
"there are a lot of bandits, and no one's done anything about it until now." Freed added. "and at every sight, none of the possessions are really considered valuables."
Ever nodded insistently. "I'm tired of just letting doing my job, I want answers, don't you?"
The two were silent. "alright, let's go." Bixlow said, breaking the silence.
At that Ever stopped. "huh?" she asked.
"we're going to the meeting point, come on lets go." Freed said.
"all of us?" Ever asked again.
The two turned to her, grins on their faces. "we're fairytail mages, there's no way we'd let one of our own go off to a dangerous place all on her lonesome." Bixlow said with a grin. "little princess might get hurt."
Ever's first inclination was to protest. But then she smiled at the two of them. "I hate you guys."
"hate you to!" Freed said with a grin. "well, let's be off shall we?"
Everyone POV
"you sure this is the place Ever?" Bixlow asked, a cold shiver running down his spin.
Ever glared at him. "of course it. it's the place written on the note." They were standing just at the edge of the forest. It was eerily quiet, and pitch black all around them, other than a tiny candle Freed held.
Bixlow glanced at her, rubbing his arms. "you sure you didn't read it wrong? You glasses are a little fogged up."
Freed looked at him, raising an eyebrow. "you're not scarred of the dark are you Bixlow?"
Bixlow's arms shot down to his sides. "what? No of course not!"
"is widdle Bixlow is scared of the big scary dark?" Ever said in a mocking voice.
Bixlow glared at her. "no of course not! I'm a mage of Fairytail, there's no way..."
"boo." Bixlow jumped. He looked up to see that Freed had taken one of his dolls, and placed it in front of his face. Ever and Freed laughed at their friends discomfort.
"that's just cruel Freed, using a man's dolls against him."
"how do you manage to call yourself a man when talking about your dolls?" Freed asked, biting back his laughter.
"now you sound like Elfman." Bixlow retorted, snatching back his doll.
Just then, Ever's ear perked up. "I hear something."
"you're not going to scare me again Ever." Bixlow snapped.
"shut up I'm serious." Ever snapped back.
"guys look," Freed said, pointing off into the distance. The group of them composed themselves, looking over where Freed was pointing. Off in the distance, the group of them could see a bundle of lights coming towards them. The closer they got, the more lights they could see.
Suddenly, the group got nervous. "how many are there?"
"a lot." Bixlow said, gulping, "I knew it was a trap."
"hey I see you glaring at me stop that!" Ever snapped.
"guys stop for a second." Freed interrupted. Two lights stepped away from the others and walked towards them. A large man came towards them, with dark disheveled hair, a white tattered shirt and brown dirty pants. He had a large sword strapped onto his belt. On his left side, the boy who had delivered the message to Ever walked beside him. he stopped, standing in front of the group. He studied each of them in turn. "I thought we asked that only one come." He said simply.
Freed tightened his grip on his sword. "Fairytail doesn't let anyone fight alone. We're a family and we fight together."
The man's eyes boar into Freed. He was starting to see the people in the forest clearer now, that his eyes were adjusting to the light. "that's good. I'm hoping that that attitude of yours will make you sympathetic to our plight."
At this, Bixlow blinked. "plight?" he asked.
At this, the man before then, bent down on his knees the group of them recoiled back. On all fours, he bowed to the group of them, the young boy following his example. "mages of Fairytail." On cue, the people in the trees stirred, and Ever could see every one of them bowing as well. "please, please. Help us."
O.O O.O O.O O.O O.O O.O
The group of them followed the man through the forest. At first they had been reluctant to go, but when the man dropped his sword, along with the rest of his people dropping their weapons. The three of them stood close together, still a little cautious. After a little ways of walking, Ever leaned towards Bixlow. "Bixlow, don't you think it's strange?"
Bixlow grunted. "which part? The fact that a giant cult has come to take us away? Or the one that they talked to Freed like he was our leader rather than me?"
Ever just rolled her eyes. "I'm being serious."
"so am I."
"Bixlow, seriously. Look around you, look at these people." Bixlow did as she said, studying the people around him through his helmet. "these people don't seem like Bandits to me." Ever whispered.
Bixlow couldn't agree more. Most bandits were large strong men, who had good clothes from all the money they stole. But around them, they saw both woman and children, all ages and sizes. And their clothes were nothing more than rags, or at best old clothes that looked like they had seen better days. There were men as well, but not very many.
"we're here." The two of them looked up. The man led them into a large clearing that held over a hundred tents. There were cooking pots, clothes hanging from trees, and different children's toys all around. The man they were following led them into the largest tent, the rest of his people all returning to their tents. In the tent, the group of them sat at a table, the man sitting at the head. "I thank each of you for coming today. I do realize how...odd this seems."
"oh no not at all." Ever mumbled.
The man ignored her comment. "my name is Daniel Witchwer, and this is my son, David." The boy who first delivered the message nodded at them.
"please, cut to the chase Mr. Witchwer. What is it you wanted to say?" Freed interrupted.
The man nodded. "of course." He stopped for a moment, trying to find the right words to say. "when, you first came on this mission, what were you expecting to find?"
"a bunch of robbers and thieves." Freed asked blandly.
"and do you believe that the people you saw are such?" Daniel asked.
"ok then. Enlighten us, who are you people?" Bixlow asked, relaxing back into his seat.
Daniel turned to him. "we are people who used to live in this town. People who were forced out of our homes."
"forced out?" Ever interrupted. "by what?"
"by whom." Daniel interrupted. "have you met, Damien Johnston?"
Bixlow sucked in a breath, but Freed kept a straight face. "and if we have?"
"and if you have, you know that boy isn't normal."
"there are very few people who I know that can be classified as normal. Why is Damien different?"
Daniel took a deep breath. "Damien is a magician. He's a much stronger magician then he seems. He grew up in the town, at first he seemed normal. But then, he started working with the bandits."
"you mean you?" Ever questioned.
"the previous bandits, the ones who truly stole and hurt people. It was then, that the boy learned magic. At first we thought it was ok, after he had mastered the art he destroyed the bandits who had been attacking this town. But soon after, he turned his newfound power on the people of this town."
"why? What would Damien gain from doing this?" Bixlow asked.
Daniel clenched his jaw, trying to figure out the right words. "Damien has an obsession, with how this town used to be. A long time ago when he was a child. He views that as his ideal town, before people started moving in, and updating the town. So in order to create this, he used his magic and forced everyone who had moved into this town out of their homes, and burned down their houses. Some people didn't make it out in time."
"and those people are you?" Freed asked.
The man nodded. "Damien has complete control over the town, no one dares to fight against him, we have no mages who could even dream of standing up to him. at times people have tried to fight back, but Damien..deals with them" Freed didn't want to know what Damien's version of dealing with the problem. "he doesn't trouble the villagers, as long as they don't get in his way. But we have little food. If we even try to grow crops, they are burned down. People in the town try to assist us, but there is little they can do without Damien noticing."
"this is insane." Ever interrupted. "it's obviously a trick to make us stop attacking them."
"why don't you just leave?" Freed asked. "go live somewhere else?"
"Damien put a spell on all the people in the town so none could not leave the forest boundaries."
"oh that's mighty convenient." Bixlow grumbled.
The man looked at them dead serious. "I know how bad this looks, but please, I'm telling you the truth!"
"sure you are!" Ever said. "and you just decided to speak out now?"
"I can't afford to lose anything else to this man!" the man screamed. The group went silent, as Daniel tried to catch his breath. "my eldest son, Robert, went into the town to get some medical supplies for a child who was dying of a fever. Damien caught him." he swallowed again. "he, he used his magic, his mind magic, to get in poor Rob's head. He made my boy go mad, till he couldn't bare it any longer, and he threw himself off a cliff." Daniel chocked back a sob.
The group was silent for a moment. "but, but why would the mayor order us to bring you to jail, if you did nothing wrong?" Ever asked.
Daniel turned to her. "the mayor made a deal with Damien. If any of us are put in jail, Damien won't hurt them. The jail is the only safe zone, where we can be taken care of, and out of Damien's reach."
"this is just insane." Ever muttered. "there's no way that this is true!"
Freed starred and looked at Daniel, watching as his eyes glanced briefly to his son. It was probably a lie, and not a very good one. but looking at Daniel, he saw in him, something that no one could fake. He saw the desperation, of a loving father who had just lost his son, and could not bear to lose another. "Ever." He said, not taking his eyes off Daniel. "we've known from the beginning that something was wrong with this town. And we've seen crazier things than a boy taking over a town." Ever and Bixlow were silent.
Bixlow was not convinced, but, if so... "could- does Damien have anything to do with the dreams?" everyone frowned and looked at him. he turned towards Ever and Freed. "don't pretend you haven't had them either! Dreams of memories that never actually happened?"
"Damien has often times, played around with people memories." Daniel answered. "I said before, that he uses magic on the mind. He'll often manipulate memories of people passing through the town, so they have no idea of anything out of the ordinary here. There are times that people are able to get glimpses of their true memories, but only if someone they truly cared about was involved."
Ever frowned. "wait, but, I've been having dreams about Cana."
"wait you too?" Bixlow asked. "I knew you were having dreams, but I didn't know they were about Cana.
Daniel's head snapped up. "Cana?"
Freed frowned. "I can't believe that she's dating Damien, if all this is true."
"she's dating who?" Daniel said standing up. "that's impossible."
"why's that impossible?" Bixlow asked.
"you three should know that better than me."
"what? Why?" Freed asked. "how does Cana fit into all this?" she asked frantically.
The man looked at her, his eye grew dark. "Cana is the reason that all of this has happened."
All of them starred at him in shock. "what? How?" Bixlow asked.
Daniel starred at him. "you truly don't know?"
"know what, what are you talking about?" Ever asked annoyed.
He studied them. "that's what Damien did, of course."
"explain, please." Freed said.
Daniel took a breath. "Cana's mother was poisoned by one of the original bandits." Daniel said. "Damien wanted to change the town, back to the way it was before she had died, so that Cana wouldn't be scarred to return."
"return?" Bixlow asked. "when did Cana leave?"
"Cana left a few months after her mother died, she went to her father's guild."
"and what guild was that?"
"Fairytail, I believe."
At this the group fell over. "what? That doesn't make sense, Cana has never been to Fairytail!" Freed insisted.
"of course she has! That's how Damien found her again! After she was chosen to take her S class exam, she went missing for seven years. Then he found her again, thanks to the magic games!"
"that's impossible!" Freed insisted, but he was finding it difficult to say.
"Damien must have changed your memories, so you wouldn't come find her." Daniel insisted. "she must not have wanted to leave, so he forced her to come."
"this isn't true!" Bixlow snapped! "Cana has never been a part of Fariytail."
At this Daniel stepped towards them. "please think! You've all had the dreams, you must have noticed she was familiar when you saw her, please you have to remember her."
Ever was starting to get a headache, she winced. "it's not true!" she stumbled.
"that's the magic talking! It's trying to shield away your memories, but you have to fight it!" Daniel insisted. "think about it! think about all you've gone through with her!"
Freed, held his head. "but...but she.." Bixlow looked at him, a large swirl of purple magic was forming above his head.
"that's the spell starting to break!" Daniel insisted, looking excited. "please, keep fighting it!"
Freed's head was spinning, behind his eyes he was seeing images of Cana, from through the years. He saw her having her first drink of beer, watched her learning how to use her magic, her fighting desperately during the S class exams, her happy elation when she won her match in the magic games. "since I won, you're buying the next round." At that, the figure above his head shattered.
"Cana." He spoke softly. He said again, with emphasise. "Cana!" he looked up, to see figures shatter above his friends head as well.
Ever put a hand to her mouth. "oh my goodness Cana!"
"drunk girl!" Bixlow cried. "how could I have forgotten?"
The group of them starred at each other, the memories flooding back to them. "it's true! Damien, really stole our memories." Bixlow said.
Ever's eyes widened. "I remember! He came to the guild, the day before I forgot!"
Suddenly, realisation hit all of them. "Cana's in danger! We have to save her!"
Laxus POV
He allowed Cana to lead him away from town, into the hills leading away from town. Cana didn't speak, but Laxus could see that her eyes were slightly red, and she held onto his hand like he was her lifeline. Laxus wanted to ask what was wrong, but was afraid to say anything, for fear she would start crying.
Finally, she spoke. "we're here." She declared, as she reached the top of the hill. It only took Laxus a step to catch up to her.
"where's here?" he asked.
Cana smiled, the first time since he had met up with her. "turn around."
Laxus raised an eyebrow, a little suspicious that she would push him over some cliff, but he did as she said. He didn't regret it. As soon as he turned his eyes widened, taking in the sight. He was looking down on the town, high enough that no one in the town could possibly see him. the town looked like something out of a painting. It shown with bright lights, mostly yellow, but it was streaked here and there with bright colours from other signs. Even from this height, he could see people walking around, but they looked like little Lego people from here. Laxus had traveled many places, but this was honestly one of the most beautiful sights he had ever seen. He looked at Cana. At least one of them.
Cana smiled fondly, staring at the scene. "I used to come here with my mom when I was younger." She said, staring out into the distance. "This place has always been my escape from reality, a way to just step back and breath." Laxus watched her as she spoke, the stars illuminating her peaceful smile.
"It's breathtaking." He stated. Though he wasn't sure if he was talking about the view or her.
She was sitting now, her arms wrapped around her legs, hugging them tightly to her chest. "careful, keep acting like that and you'll lose your bad boy image." Laxus grunted, but he joined her on the grass. The two of them stared out onto the town for moment.
"you come here often?" Laxus asked, not looking at her.
Cana laughed, and Laxus felt she was starting to regain her usual cheerful attitude. "was that a pick up line or a serious question?"
Laxus turned to her, raising an eyebrow suggestively. "its whatever you want it to be."
Cana laughed again, and Laxus felt a sense of relief, glad that he was able to cheer her up. After a small moment of silence, Laxus dared to ask the question. "so.. what happened?"
Cana bit her lip nervously. Involuntarily, Laxus reached out, and squeezed her shoulder. Cana reached up, and gently touched his hand. She took a shaky breath before speaking. "the mayor, he's in the hospital."
Laxus was surprised, that was not what he was expecting. "what happened?"
Cana shook her head. "the doctors aren't sure. He's in a coma, but they don't know how it happened. Esther found him passed out when she came home."
Laxus was silent for a moment. He was never good in these situations. "Is he going to be ok?"
Cana shrugged. "he's in no immediate danger, but the doctors won't know for sure until they find out the cause." Laxus felt her shaking. "I-if I had just come a little earlier, maybe I could have..."
"could have what?" Laxus asked. "there's nothing you could have done."
"I could have done something!" Cana snapped. "I could I don't know, kept him from falling into the coma? If I had just.."
At that Laxus reached out, and pulled her against his chest in a hug. He felt Cana stiffen in his arms. he just held her for a second, unsure what to say. He wasn't' good in these situations, but it had just felt like the right thing to do. Eventually he spoke. "you can't blame yourself. You can't change what happened, nor could you have even if you were there. if you blame yourself it'll just tear you apart." Cana took a deep breath taking in his words. Laxus could feel her relax, just slightly in his arms, but she was still shaking. He felt tears come from her eyes.
Laxus clenched down on his teeth. He had never talked to anyone about this, but he felt like now was the time. "my dad, he left me when I was a kid." Cana stopped shaking then, from surprise he guessed. He continued. "he was power hungry. No amount of magic would have been enough to satisfy him. So he left, in search of more power. I stayed with my grandfather at his guild." He was silent for a moment, trying to gather the courage to continue. Cana leaned away from him, so she could look in his eyes, hoping to reassure him. "I blamed myself for his leaving." Laxus admitted. "he had always told me I wasn't strong, that I wouldn't amount to anything. I blamed myself, for being so weak, that I wasn't strong enough for my father." Laxus starred out into the town.
"I didn't talk to anyone about it. My grandfather tried to help me, but I shut myself off from him. all I wanted was to get stronger, in hopes that one day I'd be enough for my dad. I tore myself up about it constantly. After a while, I turned my eyes on my guild." Laxus swallowed. He didn't like talking about this. "I was so focused on, the insane, crazy, carefree nature of my guild, I let it blind my emotions. I cared about my guild, I really did, and I couldn't stand the thought that I wouldn't be strong enough to protect them. I feared that my grandfather's relaxed carefree nature was spoiling them, and they wouldn't be prepared when someone attacked them. So I decided, I would take the guild. I would change the guild, so it would be strong enough to defend itself. I did some stupid things, and a lot of people that I cared about got hurt. I forced my friends to fight with me, and made them bear my guilt. I almost got my grandfather killed." Laxus smiled then, his muscles relaxing slightly. "it took a stupid idiot pink haired boy to bring me back to my senses." He laughed a bit, figuring he sounded a little crazy. "that stupid kid, who I always thought was so weak, beat me to a pulp. He reminded me of what I had forgotten. He opened my eyes and forced me to look at myself, to fully take in what I was doing, and what I would do if I continued down the road I was taking." He took a deep breath. "It took me a while, but I finally came back to my senses. I came back to my guild, and they welcomed me back with open arms." he chuckled, remembering Freed, Bixlow and Ever's stupid crying faces upon seeing him. "it was so much more then I deserved."
He looked back at Cana again, she was smiling now. "it sounds like a great guild."
Laxus nodded. "they're insane, and they'll give you a headache, but once you know them you can't live without them."
Cana laughed. She turned back to the town, but she didn't move out of Laxus' arms. "I guess I feel the same about this town. Even before my mother died, the people were so kind to me. I was never a well behaved kid, and my mom was a single parent. It was hard for her, so the people in this town helped her. The mayor treated me like his own daughter. Mrs. Goodsworth would always give me the first cookie of the day. The farmer always let me play in his fields, even if he had too word hours to fix them." She laughed at the memory. "but.." she said hesitantly. "I, don't want to stay."
Laxus frowned confused. "what? Why would you leave?"
Cana bit her lip. "it's stupid, you'll laugh."
"try me, my friends often say I'm not much of a laughing type."
Cana giggled. "then you have some smart friends." She sighed a bit. "my mom, she used to talk about me dad a lot. They were married for a while, but they broke up. It wasn't that mom didn't care, she just didn't want to have to keep waiting for him all the time. You see me dad was a magician who traveled a lot, he didn't know when he would be coming home."
"but mom would always tell me about his missions, the amazing things he would see, all the placed he's go, all the people he'd met. I loved hearing the stories, and I always dreamed of being a magician like him. there was...is nothing I want more, than to be a magician like my father. Be part of a guild, go on missions, saving people, seeing the world." Her voice droned off.
Laxus stared at her for a moment. "then why don't you?"
Cana looked up in surprise. "what?"
"join Fairytail." He said abruptly. Cana gapped at him. "you're coming to visit the guild anyway. Why don't you see if you like it, and if you do, you can join."
Cana bit her lip. "but, I don't want to upset my friends."
"this is your dream isn't it? They'd want you to follow your dreams." Cana was still silent for a moment. "you don't have to join Fairytail if you don't want to, there are plenty of guilds you can try."
Cana shook her head. "no, if I join a guild, I want it to be Fairytail. You talk about it so highly, like they're your family. I want to be part of that."
Laxus smiled at that, he didn't really want her to join a different guild anyway. "you'll fit in perfectly."
Cana smiled. "yeah, I think I'll give it a try. When I go to visit, I'll see if I like it there, if I do, I'll join."
"great to have you part of the guild."
"but I haven't decided yet!"
"you will, don't worry."
Cana laughed. "well aren't you sure of yourself."
"I'm always sure of my guild." Cana smiled. The two of them were silent for a second. "what about Damien?" Laxus asked.
Cana bit her lip, "um, yes, about that."
"will he want you to go?" Laxus asked.
Cana shook her head, "no probably not. But it's not his decision."
Laxus nodded, feeling uncomfortable. "well, you guys could always do a distance relationship."
Cana shook her head again. "I don't think so."
Laxus frowned at her. "what?"
Cana bit her lip. "what you said the other day, about my feeling for him, not being exactly the same? You might have been correct about that."
"you're breaking up?" Laxus asked.
Cana nodded. "I'll admit, it'll be weird after going out for so long, but I'm sure we'll be ok. Besides." She turned to look at him. "I don't think I'll be single for that long."
Laxus raised an eyebrow, trying to hide his growing smile. "you already have your eyes on someone else?"
Cana smiled leaning in closer. "I might." Cana's tone turned serious. "Laxus, I, seriously feel like, I've known you for a long time, and correct me if I'm wrong but..."
"but what?" Laxus asked, leaning forward a little.
Cana took a deep breath. "I feel like I've loved you for a long time." She bit her lip. "sounds a little crazy right?"
Laxus closed his eyes briefly.
Laxus came back from his mission. It was late, and there wasn't anyone at the guild. He had gone on a solo mission, the others had been off doing some training thing. Laxus walked into the guild, shaking his cloak from the pouring rain. He glanced around the guild hall, his eyes focusing on a figure in the corner. Cana was sitting at the counter, her arms folder under her head, her hair splayed out around her. She was sleeping soundly, her eyes fluttering in a peaceful dream. Despite himself, Laxus walked over to her, and sat down next to her. They had just fought about his father and Makrov a month or so ago, and hadn't talked to each other since.
"man, you can't sleep at the guild like this all the time." he spoke. Cana didn't move, resting soundly. Laxus watched her sleep, taking a deep breath.
"I'm sorry for fighting." He mumbled. It was directed to her, but he knew she couldn't hear him. "I just wanted to say it. I'd never admit it to you if you were awake, but I just wanted to get it out there. you know I'm not perfect, you more than anyone. You've always said I'll mess up some day. I wonder if this is it."Laxus sighed.
"I just can't stand the idea of you going on missions alone, going without me. I can't stand the idea of you getting hurt without me beside you."Laxus bit his lip. "just remember, that even if I'm not with you, even if you forget about me completely, I'll always keep my promise."
Laxus patted the girls head, staring out the guild window. "Just remember, that whenever you get scared, I'll always come to save you. Because I'm strong and powerful just like the thunder." He starred out the window, laughing at how cheesy his words sounded.
"it's just, so frustrating." He mumbled. "why can't you just see it?" he reached forward, and started playing with her hair, he starred at it. "why can't you understand that I love you? that I always have loved you?"
Laxus smiled, warmly. "no, it doesn't sound crazy at all." And he leaned forward and kissed her. She was stiff at first, but she immediately softened, wrapping her arms around him. Laxus pulled her against him, feeling higher than the sky. He felt so happy, that he didn't notice the eyes watching him.
Hey guys! I'm SSOO happy this is done! It took me a long time to finish! I know it's not very good, and I'm sorry, but I was upset that I was keeping you guys waiting for so long! I know how annoying it is to wait for an update. Hopefully you still liked it, and please review!
