Damon's Love and Elena's Daughter: Chapter Two
"Uncle Dave, your two hours early," Charlotte said, from the top of the stairs a blank expression on her face.
"What can we do to help?" Lewis (the new wolf pack leader) asked.
"Set up chairs in the garden and some of you give me a hand in the kitchen," Elena ordered, Stefan stood unsure of what to do at the side of the room.
"Connor, how are you going?" Charlotte asked, walking down the stairs ad making her way over to stand beside a boy slightly older than herself.
"Fine, how is the little princess?" The boy asked.
"I'm no princess," Charlotte exclaimed.
"Yes, you are," Another boy said, picking Charlotte up in his arms and swinging her around the room.
"Luke, stop," Charlotte laughed, her foot being put back on the ground.
For the next two hours Stefan hung round the house, doing all the jobs Elena asked of him and carefully watching Charlotte with the two boys. When other people began to arrive, Charlotte was at the door greeting each one. Just as all the guests had entered a black car drove up, parking across the road out stepped Damon. He was wearing his black jacket, black pants and a dark red t-shirt. Walking across the road, he walked to the front door and bowed lowly to Charlotte.
"That does really suit you," Damon greeted.
"Damon?" Charlotte asked, surprised he was here now.
Kitchen
"Elena, Damon is at the door," Stefan said, running unseen through the busy family room and stopping right beside Charlotte.
"Stefan, nice to see you," Damon greeted.
"Leave, Damon," Stefan ordered.
"Stefan, what's going on?" Charlotte asked.
"Nothing, go and make sure your mother is doing fine," Stefan said, pulling Charlotte back a step and gently directing her deeper into the house.
"Stefan, don't touch me," Charlotte ordered, side stepping around Stefan and looking directly at Damon.
"Damon, why don't you come...mmm," Charlotte began, before Stefan covered her mouth.
Less than a second later, Charlotte stabbed Stefan in the leg and stepped forwards her arm exiting the house. Allowing Damon to grab hold of Charlotte's wrist and hold it tightly. Almost instantly Damon slipped a golden bracelet over Charlotte's wrist, and then quickly released Charlotte's hand. Charlotte stumbled backwards, her back hitting Stefan's chest. Glancing down at the bracelet, Charlotte lifted it closer to her eyes and examined the thick golden blanket. Running her hands over the single line of diamonds on the band, it shone in the light as Charlotte tilted it one way and then the other.
"You have gave her, her present so now it is time for you to leave," Stefan told Damon.
"Yeah, right, I will leave when you do," Damon replied.
"Damon, you haven't aged a single day," Elena said, coming up from behind Stefan and Charlotte.
"And you have only grown so much more beautiful," Damon replied.
"Why don't you come inside and have a drink?" Elena asked, Stefan visibly stiffened as Damon stepped in to the house.
"Thank you, Elena," Damon said, Elena nodded before she turned to return to the living room.
"Charlotte, you sure have grown," Damon told Charlotte.
"Humans, don't tend to do that in a short period of time," Charlotte replied, smiling as she turned to the living room.
"Why are you here?" Stefan asked, grabbing his brother's arm before he could pass him.
"Why does it matter to you?" Damon said, tilting his head to the side and smiling.
"If you hurt anyone..." Stefan began.
"I know, I know...you will kill me," Damon said, cutting Stefan off.
"Damon, I'm serious," Stefan answered.
"I already know that," Damon replied.
"Damon," Stefan sighed.
"See you round," Damon said, making his way towards the crowded living room.
Entering the crowded living room, Damon looked round to find Charlotte walking out of the back door. Along the way to the back door, Damon's eyes slipped over to the bow that was sat on a small coffee table in the corner of the room. Following Charlotte, he walked slightly faster than her, hoping not to attract any of his younger brother's attention.
