Damon's Love and Elena's Daughter: Chapter Four

"Thanks, Charlotte," Damon said, not needing to shout because she could hear him through her earpiece.

Damon lunged forwards, stalking the remaining vampire through the heart with the stake and stood up straight.

"Well done, well done," Someone almost mocked from the shadows.

Damon looked straight at the voice, barely able to pin-point the figure in the darkness even with the help of his vampire sight. Above Charlotte aimed her arrow at the darkness and waited for any moment; it was only a second later that someone stepped from the darkness.

"What are you doing here, Klaus?" Damon asked, lowering his stake because he knew he had no luck any way with defeating Klaus.

"Elena's blood has run out," Klaus answered.

"Any other reasons, other than wanting Elena's blood?" Damon asked.

"I don't want Elena's blood, I want hers," Klaus answered, pointing to Charlotte high up in the tree pointing an arrow at his head

"No," Damon replied, Klaus smiled sweetly at Damon before dashing up the tree towards Charlotte.

"Charlotte," Damon shouted, running up the tree after Klaus.

Charlotte released the arrow, before Klaus reached up to grab her, Charlotte saw as it went through Klaus's eyes and out the back of his head. Klaus's body fell backwards, as he took the impact and Charlotte readied another arrow and shot. This one went through the underside of his chin and out the top of his head. Klaus released the tree, landing on his back as he hit the floor at the base of the tree. Damon reached Charlotte, as she pulled another arrow out and set it up on her bow ready to shot. Kneeling beside her, Damon grabbed her shoulders and turned her to face him.

"Are you okay?" Damon asked.

"Yes," Charlotte answered surely, looking towards Damon.

When they turned to look at Klaus, he was gone. Damon and Charlotte looked around desperately trying to find him; Charlotte raised her bow and arrow while Damon held tightly on to the stake.

"Home?" Damon questioned, wanting to know if Charlotte wanted to go home.

"Yeah," Charlotte answered, her eyes still scanning the forest.

Grabbing the backpack Damon wrapped his arm around Charlotte's waist and jumped from the tree, he landed on the floor before he released Charlotte and let het stand on her own. Damon stayed at Charlotte's side, as they ran through the forest, unlocking the car Damon opened the door for Charlotte and watched the forest as she swung in. Throwing the backpack in the back seat, he ran round to his side of the car and swung inside. Starting the engine, Damon revved back on to the main road and headed off down the street. Driving through the streets, the motion of the car was enough to quickly cause Charlotte to fall asleep.

"Charlotte," Damon whispered, as he flicked the head lights off and pulled into Charlotte's driveway.

Charlotte didn't even move as Damon turned off the engine and stepped out of the car; Damon gently lifted Charlotte from the car and jumped up on to the roof of the house. Using one of his hands, Damon opened Charlotte's bedroom window and stepped through the windows. Pulling down the covers messily, Damon lay Charlotte down, making sure to take her ear piece out of her ear and remove her phone and stakes from her pockets before pulling the covers up around her neck and smiling.

"I will call you tomorrow," Damon whispered, climbing out the window and making sure to lock the window behind him.

Next Morning

"Charlotte, wake up, wake up," Eric called, running into his sister's room and jumping on to the bed beside her.

"What is it, Eric?" Charlotte asked sleepily.

"My cousins, are going to be here in ten minutes," Eric said, jumping off the bed and running from the room.

"Great," Charlotte sighed, jumping from her bed and running down the stairs into the messily family room.

"Did you go hunting last night?" Elena asked surprised.

"Yeah, just quickly...I didn't see any vampires," Charlotte replied, sighing as she began to gather things up in her arms.

Working together Elena, Eric and Charlotte had just finished the family room, as the doorbell rang.

"Go and get changed, I will answer the door," Charlotte said, straightening out her clothes while she walked towards the door.

Walking to the door, Charlotte opened it and three tall men walked in. Charlotte stood watching as they acted completely serious for a minute, before they grabbed Charlotte pulled her up off the ground into their arms.
